We booked two rooms at the O&B Athens boutique hotel, Greece from 18-24 Jan and must say, we're most disappointed with the hotel and services.

HOTEL: We booked a) Grand Suite (Acropolis view) and b) Basic Suite (Acropolis view):
1. The flooring is very old and badly stained.
2. The balcony door is chipped and pieces are falling out.
3. The Espresso coffee maker was lying unconnected and we had to figure the connection ourselves.
4. The Living room Venetian blind was not locking at the top and was left hanging downwards for over 3 days until I had to ask the receptionist to fix it (which he did in 5 mins).
5. The balcony was never cleaned and the chairs were left displaced always.
6. The buffet breakfast was the same every morning and while the restaurant service staff were eager to please, the same items daily, are a put off and can get quite boring. Freshly made items are not offered and one has to make do with items lying on the buffet since 0700h.
Overall, this has been a miserable stay in Athens and it's sad, as we have stayed in Athens on two other occasions over the past 3 years, where we have loved the services and the guest handling skills at other hotels.

I suspect the attitudes comes from the top... This is for the owner to figure it out. Our 20 mins conversation with the Ops Mgr gave us this impression, as she kept spouting \"policies and instructions from the higher management\" to us in defense of the staff negative behaviour.

SERVICES:

The room was very clean and good sized. The breakfast was so delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is located right in the downtown of Athens close to everything that you would want to see. The bed is very firm if you like that. We could see the acropolis from our very large balcony.

The hotel and staff were very nice with an amazing balcony view of the acropolis. It was walkable to everything we wanted to do.
It was very loud at night on the weekend with people partying in the street until all hours. The building across the street is abandoned so there was a number of homeless people. The area at night is not very safe so we just made sure we were back before dark.

The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk to the main tourist market / shopping area and then 15 minute walk to other tourist attractions (Acropolis, Plaka area etc.).
It is also 2-3 minutes walk to the metro (subway) station.

The hotel was in a great location to see some of the main sites in Athens. It was also 7 minutes from the metro and we were able to get to the airport and back with out having to pay a taxi. It was easy to do with luggage. There were many restaurants and shops nearby plus the Acropolis and surrounding historic sites and museums. The staff were so friendly and we were also able to keep our luggage there after check out which was so convenient for us. The breakfast was also very good and so nice to be included with the stay. Our beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.

The location is great. Breakfast was good from a self-service perspective but the staff were inattentive unless you were with a family. The front desk staff were quite helpful however. The room with the view of the acropolis wasn’t quite what I expected, as the view was off to a side and not directly as shown in the hotel photos. Also, it was very noisy - the water pipes from other rooms and people outside sounded like they were in your room as no soundproofing and thin doors and walls.

We booked a junior suite. It was a beautful, comfortable and clean room. Wonderful views of Acropolis from private patio. Great breakfast with wide and varied choices and last but not least, super friendly and helpful staff. We had a great 2 night stay and would highly recommend. Very centrally located and the street come alive in the evenings…but still quiet. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are a tad tight but we notice that is the usual norm in Europe. We found the restaurants in the alleys behind the hotel were much better than the ones at the square. Don’t forget to check out all the vintage knick knack vendors. This place is definitely good value for money

My favorite anniversary so far out of 17 years!

The most amazing romantic view of the Acropolis, and, of course, the Parthenon, right outside our third story hotel room window. Drinking a glass of wine, listening to music, and the lights of the Parthenon at night, just magical. All of the staff at the hotel were absolutely high class, top notch! They made it feel like our home. The hotel is within easy walking distance to anything you can dream of; eating, music, sight seeing, shopping, they have it all.

Needed a place to crash before our flight and was interested in staying in a more lively area of Athens. We chose O&B for location, star rating and price. First, this is not a 4 star hotel. The amenities, aesthetics and service are just not there. It is however a decent 3 star hotel.

Room was clean and had a great view from the balcony. The staff was pleasant and arranged for our cab to the airport. Our room was ready early which was a nice surprise.

Although the area was great for nightlife, the street the hotel was on was unpleasant to say the least. I was a little shocked and I am a native New Yorker that is old enough to remember early 1990s NYC. The breakfast was meh. Again, not even close to 4-star standards. Room service was extremely limited.

A room with a view!!

Our room (#24) had a perfect, full on view of the Acropolis and a terrace. Book this room! For a one week stay, the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had variety of options and staff was eager to please. Downside? Bathroom. Small, literally no counter space, and desperately in need of a refresh. Also little storage space in room (no dresser or luggage rack and small wardrobe.) but the view!!!

Excellent hotel and right in the heart of the city. So close to many attractions, dining options and shops. We could walk everywhere without having to book a taxi or Uber.

Very clean and the breakfast was all that was needed. Cereal, toast, coffee, eggs, bacon and pastry. Would def book again.

We loved the location of O&B to all the historical sites in Athens. The air conditioning was broken when we checked in and was never fixed during our entire stay. We checked in multiple times with the staff who claimed they were working on the problem; however, it never was fixed. We were very disappointed in how the situation was handled. Other than that one problem the hotel was nice and clean.

The hotel was in a safe area close to shopping centres, restaurants and places of interest. The staff were generally helpful but on 2 mornings I had to ask for a hot drink to go with my breakfast. The breakfast buffet was limited, but satisfactory. The bed was comfortable but the sheets didn't fit properly so I had to keep tucking them in myself. My main problem was that the air conditioning unit was too noisy to leave on overnight and wasn't particularly effective in 30°heat.

This hotel has a great location for walking to the Acropolis. Breakfast was wonderful and in general the staff was polite and helpful. But, upon checkin, we were given a room with a double bed, and the first view when stepping out on the balcony was of ugly graffiti stained walls across the street. We had specifically reserved a room with 2 single beds and an Acropolis view. I wish they could have graciously explained that we had to look off to the side to see the Acropolis, which was fine. We had to wait while the cranky staff separated the bed into two — but then jammed them together angrily. Why make us feel uncomfortable when we just expected to get what we had reserved???

O&B was a nice little getaway- we had a room with the acropolis view and it did not disappoint. The staff are friendly, it was great that we could drop off our luggage before check in and leave it in storage after we checked out so we could still explore the city. The area was wonderful- could walk anywhere for shopping, dinning and night life. We felt incredibly safe every time we were out regardless of the time of day.
