The room was really clean, but no shower in our room, just a bath tub which was challenging. The bidet was no there so an issue when you can’t flush toilet paper. The room itself was excellent though, comfy bed but noisy on a Friday night from party goers outside hotel.

We upgraded our room before we arrived and the room we had was beautiful with a large balcony and views of the Acropolis. The pool is fantastic and we booked our private hour every day of our stay. The included breakfast in the cafe across the street was very good offering a good range of brunch options including several which suited my dairy intolerance. There were around 7 or 8 good choices on the included menu and you could pay extra for additional options, which were also very good. The hotel is in a fantastic location in a lively area with lots of bars and restaurants and around 15 minutes walk from the Acropolis and Agora. The hotel was generally very quiet at night, with church bells on Sunday morning. We loved it and would go back!

My husband and I stayed at The Residence upon our arrival to Athens. I was surprised to see reception hours are only 8a-4p, so we never interacted with the staff. I do really like the keyless lobby & room entry system they have which made it not a problem to arrive after reception closes. They sent me a WhatsApp message with the key code which worked great.

The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Have no complaints there. I took off a star because we had a ground floor room and our window opened right up to an alleyway where people walked and parked their motorbikes. We kept the curtains closed the whole time. Additionally, it was very loud whenever other guests would enter the hotel as they had to walk right by our room. We were routinely woken up throughout the night by voices. We could also hear voices outside in the alleyway as well.

So while the room is as advertised and very nicely decorated (and clean), the noise & disruptions, and limited reception hours were negatives of our stay. Location, however, was perfect

Description was totally misleading! Pool had to be booked and only for 1 hour per day. Not as advertised. Room was not clean, couch had blanket over it to hide the disgrace. Balcony was not clean, lights bulbs burnt out, balcony loungers and chair cushions were ripped and dirty. Service was very limited, only during the day and ending at 4 pm. Ice and other basics that you would normally expect for a top end hotel were not available. Advertised was a rooftop bar with hottub. However it was closed the entire 5 days we were there. Found out after we arrived that it was seasonal only. Again false advertising. Could see the Acropolis from balcony as shown in hotel promotional pics but view was mostly of a graffiti parking lot and other view obstructing buildings. Somewhat of a view, but really for an advertised ‘beautiful luxury suite’ that we paid 650.00 Canadian for, it was severely overpriced for what was received. This was suppose to be our romantic spot!!😢💔 but it was quite a disappointment. The finale: booked a car through the hotel which they assured us would arrive despite a taxi strike. It didn’t show. Had to lug all our luggage to the metro in order to make our ferry connection.

Breakfast needs to be explained before taking the option. Coffee only available, tea you have to pay extra. We have to paid one day again because the staff was not on time to give us the vouchers. Otherwise the food was good.
Bed is confortable. Internet access perfect. You can ask for transportation at the desk( open 8am to 4 pm). One hour pool free of charge per day.
We had ants in the bathroom and ask two time to be fix. I fixed it myself.
Otherwise the staff is nice, well situated, safe …

Overall, we had a nice stay at The Residence. It’s in a cute local neighborhood, with lots of dining, bars, and shopping nearby. We did lots of sightseeing - all accessible by walking. The staff was very nice and helped store our bags after check out.

The room was a bit smaller than we anticipated, I think they may have put us in the wrong unit (we booked a superior king, but ours more resembled standard economy). We were only in Athens one night so we did not complain. We would stay again simply for the location!

When they clean your room, they will shut off the ac every time so it is very hot when you come back to your room after the day. I was a solo traveler. And I stayed in a standard double room. My room was right next to the reception on the ground floor. Noises in early morning were unavoidable, and that was a bit disappointing.

This was my first time using a digital key for both hotel access and room entry. The setup process was straightforward, and using it was relatively easy. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful—they reached out well before check-in with clear instructions on how to access and use the e-key.

One standout feature was the laundry service, which was not offered at the other hotels I stayed at during this trip. It was completed the same day and cost €16 (cash only), which I found convenient and reasonably priced.

The only area for improvement was housekeeping. There was no service during my first night/day, which wasn’t a major issue as I tend to keep the room tidy. However, it would have been appreciated if essentials like toilet tissue had been replenished and the bathroom had been dried or refreshed. The shower head in my bathroom was very powerful - with no shower curtain nor door in the walk-in shower, it was unavoidable to flood the bathroom.

Most properties are fine with me but I think this one was over rated on Expedia.

The location is good and you can walk to many places from there. The staff is nice.

But three things bothered me:
There are ants both dead and alive in the room. Surprising considering it’s nearly new.

The “rooftop bar” and “swimming pool” don’t really exist.

Finally, the front desk is unstaffed at night and when we needed them at their 7AM opening time - no one was there. I think they arrived late, maybe 7:15, bur it added some stress to our tight schedule.

Mixed bag but ultimately wouldn't stay again

Our room (room 04) was located right next to the reception and main entrance (literally 3 feet from the door) so you could hear everyone coming and going and every conversation in the reception, including the staff from the spa who would sit on a sofa a few feet away from our room door and chat; so not great in that respect.

Next, the AC is controlled remotely by management. This is not explained but rather when you arrive the room is hot inside and the control panel for the AC displays the message \"HL\" which after googling means hardware lock. Upon asking the reception, they explained they would \"come and take a look\". Next, it is miraculously working but went off again less than an hour later so we had to ask again. From reading other reviews, this seems to be a tactic they use to save electricity. Not great.

Our last negative was that the fridge light started flicking during the first night, lighting up the room like a strobe light. From reading other reviews this isn't the first time this has happened. The receptionist said that she would get a technician to look at it but ultimately it was not fixed throughout the remaining two days of our stay.

Positives: the hotel is ideally located. Close to the city center and surprisingly not too noisy despite being near to several loud restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly despite comms being poor with regards to the AC controls and getting the fridge fixed.

The room itself was fairly small but modern and comfortable.

This property is SO LOUD. The staff was nice, but very loud. You can gear everything they do in your room. Everytime the door opens, its loud. All night there was an alarm noise going off outside our room. No staff to fix it. In addition, there a loud night clubs nearby that have obnoxiously loud music until 430 am, which is a problem if you have a 24 hour travel day after. Even with earplugs i could not sleep.

The property however lacked functional shower- couldn’t turn the dial properly to have overhead shower work- even if you did- the glass wall is not big enough and floor floods

The Residence Christokopidou was a perfect hotel for my few days in Athens. It's situated in a very central location surrounded by numerous good restaurants, bars and just a few minutes from one of the major shopping areas. It was also walking distance from the Acropolis.

All of the hostesses were very friendly and helpful. I got some great recommendations for food in the area from them. The room was perfect for me and was well equipped with robes, extra toiletries and snacks. I had a little outdoor patio area which was nice to sit in during the afternoon.

I also enjoyed the spa facilities. I took advantage of the pool and the sauna on my last day which you schedule with the hostess so you get the space to yourself. Next time I'll have to try a massage! Would definitely stay here again! :)

I wanted to love this place based on the money we spent on it, but regretted only paying for an economy room. We had the room right beside the lobby, and it was very noisy. We could hear people talking and coming in and out of the hotel while we were trying to sleep. Also, when we checked in there was no clean towels in our room and there was a housekeeper's rag left near the bed.. the shower was beautiful but no matter what we did (change shower head to manual, lowered the water pressure, or angle the water to the wall etc..) the water would spill all over the floor and make a mess every time we showered and made the floor a slipping hazard. We thought the indoor pool was a nice touch to the property, but when we got there it was unclean. Overall, it was a nice looking hotel but didn't function quite how we're used to in North America. Location was great though!

If like me and a first timer, please read. I had a lot of anxiety because i didn’t know anything. This place is in perfect location to shopping, restaurants and Acropolis/Parthenon.
There was a sweet young Lady, named Despina who greeted us and was very helpful over the next few days. If you are trying to figure out where to stay, stop, you found it. Parking on site was a plus for us, but i wouldn’t recipients renting a car unless like us we needed after we left for the rest of our trip. We walked to everything we needed. (And we are older)

terrible smell of cat's urin cover by parfum in the room 2 at our arrival . We complain but the only solution was a simple refund for leave the hotel . No proposition to assist us for at least find an other room in town .. this is not ways to resolve this kind of problems.. we are very disapointed cause we already went in this hotel this year and it wans't like that.. you can have a problem but advise your customers first before them arrival ..
The front desk went in the room for realize the problem , they well said the smell was problematic but for them it was a problem of humidity.. îm not agree .. but even , you manage this situation by an other way

This property did not disappoint! We were there for one night after departing off a cruise. We wish we would have stayed longer! The area is so cute and walkable. Very secure. The only downfall was our room and balcony over looked the street and some people late at night were quite loud, not sure if they were guests or patrons from the restaurants down stairs. We would definitely go back and stay in the hotel again! You can walk everywhere, rent like scooters or easily catch a cab!

Good place for us on a very brief stopover in Athens. Sadly we left at 5:30am so cannot comment on the hotels main facilities. The roof terrace with views of the Acropolis could not be used which was disappointing. Our room was the economy double which was directly off reception overlooking the busy street on the ground floor which would be a problem for some travellers, but to be fair neither the street nor the reception area were noisy. The restaurants, cafes and bars nearby are really fantastic and the walk up to the Parthenon took only 20 minutes. Good spot.

However, the rooms are small and we didn’t have drawers for our clothing (just a hanging rack) so if you are staying for several days that’s slightly inconvenient.

Overall positive experience. They supplied a bouquet of flowers and champagne for our honeymoon and tons of great dining/bar/transit options in the area. There are some very strong points here but definitely wasn't perfect. Staff were friendly but not remarkably so. The breakfast is a good deal at €10 per person but don't expect top tier dining. We stayed on the second floor and there were tons of ants in the room near the door and it can get a bit noisy outside on weekends since it's in a party neighbourhood. Surprisingly, the noise outside barely impacted our sleep. The pool was really foamy which, as a pool owner, this is generally not ideal (unless done intentionally?) Also, starting around 07:30 all the churches in the area start ringing bells and singing on loud speakers non-stop.
It sounds like a lot of negatives but we did generally enjoy outselves. Definitely a hit if you're in Athens to party as the location can't be beat.

We Love Greece!

We had an economy room, the entrance of which was right by the front desk. This made for quite a bit of noise from loud voices at the front desk from 7-11pm. Our room had windows that faced the small, quaint street next to the front hotel entrance, but had blackout curtains.
That said, all else was very clean and comfortable.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely lovely! we booked a suite last minute and it was great. Close to alot of restaurants and shopping. The room we were in was clean and super cute! We would definitely return again.

Customer service during checkout needs to be improved. Specifically for guests who book third party. We were not able to obtain a receipt from the hotel who serviced us. When asked for clarify we were referred back to our third party representatives with much unnecessary attitude. The rooms were not as expected. The pictures reflected a bigger accommodation. There is a huge pest issue in the bathroom with the amount of ants that were all over. Could’ve been a better experience with improved customer service.

Awesome location! Loved this hotel!

Great hotel! In the middle of everything!
Dora, the breakfast host was incredibly friendly and helpful as were the rest of the staff. No complaints at all, all positives!!
