The hotel seems to be designed for couple getaways. As a solo business traveler I felt awkward and was given a room right by the check-in counter. The biggest issue I faced was at checkout when 4-5 staff descended on the room to 'check' it and a couple minutes later a young man came out waving the white bed-sheet showing me a blue marker stain! I travel a lot and I don't remember ever taking a marker to bed! They were trying to extract an extorted 'tip' I guess because as soon as I took a serious tone with the man at the desk and mentioned I will recount all this in a review, they started apologizing for the 'confusion.' Also, there was another room next to mine near the entrance lobby and there was a couple staying there. I could hear them talk late into the night, the soundproofing leaves much to be desired.

The positive - the night manager was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a unique feature in this boutique colonial style hotel which is a koi pond in terrace with fish feed provided that children especially would enjoy. Now the curious. First, the rooms are old and not well maintained. For example the safe in our room did not work and the tub/shower in the bathroom was high lipped that is extremely difficult to get in and out of, older guests be careful. A step should be provided to get in and out. You must request your exact breakfast dishes one day in advanced instead of the day of from a menu. This is really more a mom and pop operation with even ice served from a ice cube tray from a refrigerator like home emptied into the kitchen sink before landing in your glass But really the key is when you stay here you are treated like a burden by the day manager. We were accused and scolded for leaving a light yellow stain on their bath and hand towels and warned against further stains or a penalty. (Its was a very light stain that frankly we have no idea where from.) Before being allowed to leave, we had to wait for them to examine our room to ensure all was well and was mocked condescendingly “no more oil stains right?” I am not sure she would have treated caucasian guests this way so this may be a bit of the discrimination against guests of Chinese descent from all countries.

The hotel was beautiful and we loved the decking and the fish. Staff were very friendly and packed us a breakfast for our trip up to Cameron Highlands. The hotel only offers breakfast there is no food in the evening or a bar. The town is around the corner about a 5 min walk which had plenty to choose from so the location was perfect.

A beautiful Balinese style boutique hotel, in a quiet residential area (don't worry though - if you're visiting Ipoh, most attractions are very close together so if you're using Grab, it'll be inexpensive to get around!). The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and the complimentary breakfast every morning (a la carte and made fresh) was delicious. I also indulged in their on-site spa service - would definitely recommend!

Peaceful surrounding and comfortable. Good quality bedding and furniture made from solid wood. Toilet has the zen design except for bath tub - I would expect the bath tub to be more Balinese instead of the usual white color. There are gaps between bath tubs and walls that are almost impossible to clean, so my fear is over time there might be some smell if not properly maintained. On breakfast - their Balinese menu is excellent and breakfast room service is good. Overall the hotel is good, suitable for travellers who want a twist to the usual hotels.

Balinese design which is quite unique. Went there for pre-wedding photo shoot and stay. Being their guest does not automatically grant you the access to photoshoot in their hotel. Paid extra RM100+ (cost a bom, and as much as a non hotel guest) for a hotel that is unique but not as unique as you can shoot for the entire day (end up shooting only about an hour).

We stayed in the hotel at the Eve of Chinese New Year. Room 105 was clean, quiet and spacious for two. The hotel is not exactly in downtown and thus choice for dining is a bit limited. Secret Restaurant which serves local/western style food, is at the opposite side of the hotel. Contrary to other comments on the quality/services of this restaurant, we found it could meet our expectations. Of course, taking GRAB car to and from the hotel and downtown is convenient (~10 - 20 mins) and comparatively affordable (~ 8 - 15 ringgits). We have to thank the very kind help of Raidah in this aspect and her prompt arrangement of fixing the minor drainage issue of the bathroom. We also agree with comments of other customers that the spa services there are nice and value for money but my suggestion is better to book in advance given its limited capacity.

We stayed there for one night in the standard room. A 10-min drive to the main shopping area and coffeshops. The hotel looks inviting from the exterior. But our room had an unpleasant smell. It is a small hotel and they were fully booked. The staff were friendly and tried to rectify the situation by placing an aroma oil burner. It helped but the smell returned the next morning. The walls are thin so we could hear our neighbours conversations. Perhaps the other bigger/better rooms may have been different.

Room is clean. Great ambiance. Great location, very nearby to famous local food spots. Few mins drive. The breakfast 'rendang chicken' is fantastic.

The staff were wonderful and attentive to our every need. The room was clean and the decor and hardware finishes were nice, especially enjoyed the garden outside our room with swing and koi fish pool. Breakfast was delicious, especially the French toast. I wish we would have taken our massages at the hotel instead of the Thai massages our friends recommended. Our only complaint is the beds were very hard, and the bed linens and towels were not as nice quality as we would expect for the great hotel this is. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again if we ever return to Ipoh.
