Overall a good stay, only one hard pillow but staff happy to provide another, small details could improve stay, only one mirror in bathroom, no bin in room, could do with a deeper clean, for example shower head needed a descale, it wax slightly black. Also needed more light. Was quiet and pool area was nice

This hotel is amazing! Exactly how you would picture medium price hotel/villa in the heart of Bangkok. You're in walking distance to a lot of the important things. Do you want to say. Also, I took a bus from the airport to stop and it drop me off a block From the hotel for only ฿50! That's basically $1.50. Staff are super friendly room is beautiful typical amenities great view.

I’d recommend looking elsewhere if you can. Bangkok is HOT— and the hotel turns your room’s power (including AC) off when you take your key card out of the slot that turns the power on. The AC unit isn’t strong enough to cool for hours after you return. Additionally we kept getting wafts of sewage. Last, The balcony off the street wasn’t very usable because it’s super busy loud street – – and not very interesting to look out over.

Solid place for a quiet Bangkok stay

Stayed here during our honeymoon, and we enjoyed our stay! In a centrally located area near Khao San Road (about 5min walk), but still far enough to have some peace and quiet. The surrounding is safe, and has a great restaurants on the corner. There's also a few laundromats and many barbershops nearby (in case you need a fresh fade haircut).

The hotel staff is very nice, attentive, and made us feel valued. The hotel room was a bit small, but still nice and comfortable. The shower floor tended to flood the rest of the bathroom, think it was due to subpar drainage. However, the wifi was strong, and they kept everything nice and tidy. The bottom floor entryways had a cool and unique key access feature.

Overall, we'd recommend this place for a more quiet stay in Bangkok.

The room and bathroom were clean. The room was comfortable to be in. It was a bit far from the nearest station, but is walking distance to the riverboat, except that I wasn't sure what to do to get onto the boat or if I would know when to alight, and I was rushing for a dinner appointment.

This is my fourth visit to this hotel. I like it and find its location very convenient. The hotel is in a contemporary style with polished concrete and bare walls. Most rooms have a balcony. The shower is large and powerful. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in our room.
On this visit, the breakfast was served in the reception lobby rather than the front room. I thought that this was much better as you can enjoy being outside without the noise of the traffic.

A nice boutique hotel in the old city

The hotel has a old beautiful Chinese style and it is not too big so it was simple and nice.
The hotel is in the old city and very closed to Khao San Road, so it was convenient to walk around.
The breakfast was good. And the shower has strong pressure.
Everything was good except for the noise from the street at night which was too loud. I could not really sleep. If you book a room here, make sure you have the room facing inside the hotel.
The staff was friendly and helpful but I did not understand how could a hotel like this not have some spare pillows for guests. We asked for 2 more pillows and the staff just said they did not have any pillows.

Amazing staff and wonderful location. The hotel does not have a pool or gym, but the friendly common areas make for good vibe. Good onsite restaurant with wonderful food carts just outside and a 711 down the block. Lighting in the rooms is somewhat ackward but beds are comfortable and house clean is top notch. We would certainly stay again should we return to Bangkok.

Hotel is located within walking distance to most everything and we felt safe walking home from Kosan road at 2am. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean. - no sharp or tight corners so no risk of hitting your toes
- Lots of floor spaces for backpacks, big suitcases
- Long TV console provides ample counter-top spaces for wallets, watches, spectacles, cups, phones, jewelery and other small items
- Grohe tap, and good quality local brand handheld shower and mixer, Rainfall shower available too. Water pressure is excellent.
- hotel is environmentally conscious, only has one dustbin per room (placed in toilet), can see many old furniture pieces throughout which adds to the character of the premise

CONS

- Lack of hangers and sockets in room,
- sound proofing between rooms/corridors virtually non-existent
- WiFi is rather slow
- Hanging lamp placed just beside the bed/pillow is very very dusty, needs to be wiped else it will be unhealthy for guests to breathe in dust while sleeping

TIPS

- bring your own slippers as cement floors can get very cold with aircon turned on
- don't lose keycard else you will forfeit your THB 1000 deposit
- taxi fares and Grab fares are hefty if you travel between Emquartier/Emporium/Central Embassy/MBK/Gaysorn/Paragon areas and the hotel frequently

Excellent hotel near Grand Palace, Khao San area

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and booked 2 rooms for our family of 4. The hotel is like a hidden gem and located in a busy market area. From outside, it's easy to miss but once in, it's a pleasant surprise to see how they have decorated this hotel with so much thought and care for the comfort of the travelers. Rooms are good size and quite modern.

Staff is friendly and helped us a lot. In particular, Uno (Neung) was so helpful to explain various excursions and helped us to book taxi, tuk tuk and explained the directions to market, ferry, etc.

Close to Khao San Rd but far enough to avoid noise and hubbub. Hotel is small but comfortable with excellent beds, wonderful bathrooms, all very clean. Breakfast has three or four choices with great coffee. The service was very good. They helped us arrange airport taxis as well.

Great little hotel in a perfect location to explore old Bangkok. We stayed here with our kids (9&11) and enjoyed everything from the great breakfast options to the friendly staff. We could walk to Khao San in 8 minutes, temples or the adorable Kitty Cat Cafe. Would definitely Recommend this place and stay here again!

We loved our stay here. The hotel is beautiful and the staff cannot do enough for you. Our room was clean and tidy and over looked the canel. Tuk Tuks are so cheap to get everywhere and taxis even cheaper. Walking distance to the river for the river taxi. Very happy. The kids would have preferred a swimming pool as it was so hot but nothing Anyone can do about that. They survived. X

The bed was firm but ok. Room is small but clean.The a/c worked well until about 3 am and then it poured alot of water on the floor which woke us up. We had to shut it off for about an hour and then it was fine again. Happened both nights. The location was ok but the neighbourhood was a bit dirty. Bus stops right in front of hotel.

- Design: The rooms and courtyard had a minimalist design, very clean, quiet, and calm
- Breakfast: The free breakfast was excellent: fast service, delicious, perfect

Things I didn't like:
- Location: It's a perfect location for people who want to visit the tourist sites (temples, Grand Palace, Khao San Road, etc), but it's far from public transportation so it was difficult to get to other parts of the city without taking a taxi/tuktuk/Uber. This is why I gave it 4 stars out of 5. Otherwise it was 5 stars.

From check-in the hotel staff were amazing. The facilities were better then expected. The room felt very new and clean. Modern and great decor. Our package included breakfast which was delicious. Highly recommend the green curry! The hotel also offered a free tuk tuk service to Grand Palace. Within walking distance to the \"walking street\" the hotel is in a great quite location but close to everything you need. The staff went above expectations and the hotel felt very secure.

We stayed in both the thai style rooms beside the canal and tbe more modern rooms. The rooms beside the canal were, spacious and beautiful. The modern rooms were more functional but also nice. The staff were pleasant and helpful, snd very nice. Overall the place is an oasis in bangkok, centally located yet a bit off the hustle and noise of kao san road. .

I really enjoyed this hotel in old Bangkok. It was clean and modern, featuring the best shower and one of the best beds I came across in over 3 weeks in Thailand. The staff were friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with in English. There was also always a security person at the door who would often assist with hailing a taxi. The location was good, on a relatively quiet street but walking distance to a number of attractions such as the Grand Palace and Koh San road. As a solo female traveller I felt safe walking around on my own in the area, even after dark.

The hotel is not located on either the skytrain or metro lines, but was a relatively quick ride away (traffic dependent, of course). It seemed to be challenging for taxi drivers to find, even with the instruction card provided by the hotel.

I really enjoyed my time here, and would not hesitate to choose this location again.

Location perfect for us. 15 min walk from Kohsan Rd . Other popular areas no more than 30 mins walk. We had garden room which was really quiet. Staff excellent. Bathroom/ shower very good. Breakfast very good. Highly recommended. Only criticism was Wi-Fi- great 1st day then hit and miss.

This hotel is walking distance from the main backpacker street with lots of food and massage places. You can also walk down to the boat to go to the Grand Palace. The hotel staff are really helpful. They gave me a map and explained all the good things to see and do. They booked me an early morning trip to the train market and floating market and since I left before breakfast they packed me a sandwich, drink box and banana. Thanks Mai, I really enjoyed my stay!

The room was extremely hot and the AC kept breaking down, the room also didn't have any ventilation and had a lingering smell of sewage - there was constant construction going on so the noise was awful and completely disturbed us during our stay.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was in a great location. There was a free tuk tuk each morning to grand palace etc, The staff can organise tours for you, as well as call you metred taxis. All staff spoke near perfect English and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were always friendly and smiling. I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

We had an incredible stay. Everything was amazing, the location, courtyard which is a heavenly oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Bangkok,rooms, cooked to order breakfast and most of all the staff. They went above and beyond to help us have an amazing stay. Maya and Nicky helped us the most but all the staff were incredible. They even stayed after their shift to say goodbye to us. The location is excellent and they have made it such a quiet and tranquil place that's a lovely escape from what is actually a very busy and centrally located area. You get the best of both worlds. I can't think of one even slightly negative thing to say about this place.

Had a great experience at the Villa Phra Sumen. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms stylishly plain, with balconies overlooking a peaceful courtyard. It wasn’t apparent when booking the room online, but it’s situated on a canal, and actually has sling chairs perched canal-side that where you can lounge in relative peace and quiet, for Bangkok. The breakfast is really outstanding; the best we had during our 6 weeks in Thailand. All was good, but the Asian options were our favorites – the green curry and the terrific congee.

The location was excellent for us. We were there as tourists, and it’s maybe a 15-20 minute walk to the lively and touristy Khao San district – which is close enough to partake if you’d like, but in a much more authentic seeming part of town. We took the hotel up on one of their daily free tuk tuks to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, which took just 10 or 15 minutes.

The nicest surprise was the canal boats, which we were unaware of before arriving in Bangkok. A 10-15 minute walk southeast from the hotel gets you to the most westerly boarding platform (Phanfa Bridge) on the north side of the canal, and quickly zips you across town to the east. It conveniently stops near the BTS station, MBK mall, and the Jim Thompson house. We used the canal boat nearly every day.

Enjoyed our stay, and would recommend Villa Phra Sumen.

Lovely hotel, nice environment and clean room. Excellent customer service and the breakfast is awesome.
Thanks to the guard, who will write down the taxi no. for further enquiries, and others cant get into the hotel either, feel so safe and free to stay in the room or lie down in the beautiful lobby.
Anyway, a wonderful place, oh right, they have the free tuk tuk service could take you to the two of the famous temples.

Perfect! I'd highly recommend it!

It was one of my best hotel experiences. I have nothing to complain. We booked the family suite. The room was well decorated giving you a vintage thai feeling, and it was so spacious that you could literally put an extra mattress in the bathroom. The hotel staff was quite friendly: We had an early morning tour and we had the tour company called the hotel to confirm the schedule as our phone didn't work overseas. The staff came upstairs to inform us the schedule and asked if we'd need breakfast and they could prepare sandwich for us to take along with!

It is also in a great location. Wat Saket and Khao Shan Road are within walking distance. They offered free tuk tuk that sent us right to the Grand Palace in 10 mins. There was a security guy at the front door, so we felt really safe staying there. It was quiet and peaceful inside too.

My friends and I stayed for 3 nights. This hotel is nice and comfortable. The staff are extremely caring. Every uber or taxi driver my friends and I would take the security outside (Ken) would write down the license plate. When coming down the opposite side of the street during traffic, Ken would come out and stop traffic with his hand so we could cross. He definitely made me feel safe and cared for. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was included. Definitely a wonderful experience!

This is a great hotel, modern, clean, wel desigbed and helpful english speaking staff. Was traveling with my boss and this place was perfect. The only drawback was that smokers have to go out in the street to smoke abd the wifi is not so strong in certain rooms.

Best hotel we stayed in Bangkok. It's a paradise, quite and with a real Thai feeling. Has a feeling of authentic Tahi decor. IT#s very close to the main tourist attractions at the same time of being very quiet. It also has a great street food area next to the canal, which allows you to see real Thailand. Highly recommended

Convenient, tidy, and great coffee

The bed was a \"king\" but it was really two twins pushed together.

The coffee at the location was fantastic and the fruit served at breakfast was great too.

The staff was so helpful with our trip planning and really friendly.

Decent place to stay that is close to Khao San Rd.

This is an interesting property. It is located on a very busy street in a somewhat tense neighborhood, but the grounds are encased in huge concrete walls that give it a sense of privacy and quiet! The building and rooms are unusually constructed and decorated, concrete floors and walls with beautiful wood paneling designs that give it a very nice feel. The things that I did not like about it are slow internet, no room service, no smoking ANYWHERE on the property, the balconies are not very private, they require a cash deposit for the key and only give you one key even though two people were checking in. The things I liked about it are its secluded feel, the decor, the view from the room (overlooks a canal), a decent breakfast, its proximity to a bustling area known as Khao San Road along with a few quieter old Bangkok neighborhoods. All in all, it was not a favorite but given so few decent options in that part of Bangkok I will probably stay there again.

Boutique hotel in old Bangkok near Khaosan road

Hotel location is its greatest advantage: walking distance to Khaosan road and boat pier N13 from which one can find a variety of boats to major attractions (temples, China town, BTS station). Hotel staffs are nice and friendly. They offer great tips if you need direction, look for places to go or dine, or find transportations. Safety is their high priority: keycard entrance to hotel, guard stand in front of hotel to provide assistance to guests and to guard the complex. Breakfast includes both continental and oriental food from fixed menu. Room amenity is basic but is clean and very decent. Surrounding area is on the old side, but safe as it is tourist area. Recommend others to stay. Good hotel for the price. Would come back again.

Very quaint hotel

The room was really cute decorated in a traditional style. We only stayed one night so did not use much of the hotel. My girlfriend loved the hotel. It was in a great location within walking distance to the Grand Palace. The staff spoke excellent English and were very genuine and helpful.

Good value for money. Bring your own hand soap.

Many people mentioned the good location. For us it was a bit too far out of the city center. Khaosan is really close so if you’re in to that kind the location is fantastic.

Service, food, coffee excellent.

Older hotel with lots of noise from the other rooms and especially the streets. We slept fine with earplugs as the beds are comfortable.

A BIG minus is the missing hand soap from either of the two toilets in the mutual area and in the room. That is just straight up disgusting. We bought soap as the first thing upon our arrival.

Jeg og en veninne sov her i 5 netter. Vi elsket oppholdet. Hotellet er rent, pent og basseng området er en deilig oase å slappe av i midt i travle Bangkok. God beliggenhet med gangavstand til khao san road og mange ulike templer. De som jobbet der var veldig hjelpsomme, hyggelige og alltid tilstede. Hotellet virket trygt, rolig og alt i alt veldig bra. Jeg ville gjerne bodd her igjen om jeg skal tilbake til Bangkok. Ambefales på det sterkeste. Det eneste er at sengen er litt hard, men ikke noe som er veldig problematisk.

프론트를 지나면 비밀의 공간 같은 아름다운 전경이 펼쳐지고 수영장과 수영장을 둘러싼 작은 정원이 큰 강점인 숙소입니다.
물론 룸 컨디션도 아주 좋구요.
카오산로드도 도보로 쉽게 갈 수 있는 위치입니다.
근방에 세븐일레븐도 있고 맛집도 많습니다.
무엇보다도 친절한 스텝들 덕에 참 좋은 기억으로 여행을 마쳤습니다. 다음 방콕 여행때도 무조건 여기서 묵을겁니당:)
