Quiet room near Khao San Rd.

It is an older building. The hot water wasn’t at night, but was nice and hot in the morning. The lady at the front desk is very friendly and the location is perfect! It is also quiet when you want to end the night, which is really nice. The bathroom is quite small. I was happy that there was a very small balcony to hang our wet clothing after Songkran. I would stay here again but maybe opt for a more expensive room.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. Su was very helpful and accommodating. It's a charming place, and very close to some great food options like Jay Fai, Thipsamai, and walking distance to Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu and a 7-Eleven. Very convenient place to stay while in Bangkok.

This hotel is a true hidden gem! Situated within walking distance of everything you need in Bangkok. The staff are welcoming and always have a smile on their face when you come in and out. The room was clean and a great size, the hotel has a real charm about it that’s unlike other big hotels in Bangkok! For the price you won’t find any better. It's a very basic property in need of some updating. Some complaints: Only one towel and it was pretty old and had holes in it. Noisy hallway. No way to secure the door from inside the room. Somewhat isolated from central Rattanakosin Island by the large boulevard in front of the property. It is possible to cross the boulevard with a crosswalk. The owner was very nice and helpful regarding where to go and where to eat!

Nice place to stay, they have the ideal location to visit Bangkok. 10 minutes walk to Khao San, bus stop for many route 3 minutes walk, lots of restaurant etc. But it’s really quiet so you can have a good sleep. We arrived very late and there was someone waiting for us. The only thing is cleaning staff are noisy in the morning in the hallway and the shower flood the entire bathroom. But overall we enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again without hesitation.

The place was a hidden sanctuary right in the middle of everything you want to see in the City. Su was very helpful in giving directions and options of what to do, even down to the day of the week. She made sure I didn’t miss the weekend market since I arrived on a Sunday and showed me how to do a self guided walking tour of the temples. I recommend taking tuk tuks even tho things are close, it’s cheaper and easier especially when it’s really hot. I highly recommend eating at the Family which is nearby and also a hidden gem! Everything was great I’ll stay there again on my way back out of Thailand at the end of this trip.

I stayed here for 4 nights. To start I can’t complain - for the price of four nights it was a deal. The room was a little dated. Bathroom was small. There was a safe - but no directions how to use it (I wasn’t going to use it anyway). For location - it’s great. Khoa San Rd is walking distance. Very safe area. The road it’s on may seem a little sketchy but it’s very safe. The hotel entrance is what sold me - the greenery and the atmosphere was great! Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful garden hotel tucked away off Democracy Monument Circle . Great location in the heart of Bangkok. Coolest of neighbors , restaurants, shops, and the Brown Sugar Jazz Club. Full breakfast cooked to order. Best is your hostess Sourire who will expertly navigate you through the in and out of Bangkok.

Great location by democracy monument. Room was basic, but spacious with large comfortable bed. Bathroom was small but shower was good. Air conditioning well placed in the room.
Staff were very friendly and happy to help, and breakfast served daily with fruit, toast and a choice of eggs and bacon.
Absolutely no issues on my stay, and would definately recommend if visiting bangkok for nearby attractions like the grand palace.

Great little hotel in old Bangkok

This was my second time staying at the Sourire. I had a couple of days in Bangkok before returning to Canada and wanted to visit the Grand Palace and a few other historic sights all within walking distance. Khaosan Road is only a few minutes away as well. The Sourire is small, even cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not opulent but more than enough for a short stay. I was too lazy to get up in time to take advantage of the free breakfast and my only wish would be for a kettle or coffee maker in the room. I arranged with the desk for a taxi to Suvarnibhum Airport for my early flight (600B) which got me there in good time. I’ll stay at the Sourire again.

we stayed in room 409, my advice to anyone who is staying or considering staying here is AVOID room 409 it was a dull and depressing room, low natural light, no outside view due to the window being coverd over, the couloir scheme of pink walls and ceiling dark woodwork was ugly and dirty scratched paintwork added to to dour flavour of the room, the bathroom area was so tiny thay i could barely get my leg between the wall and the front ent of the toilet bowl, and when using it i had to sit with my knees wide apart so as to fit in the space, the shower was a fixed head type, anyone over about 5’6” would need to stoop in order to wash thier shoulders and head, the hot water tap head came off twice due to the fixing screw missing and again the black and white tiling looked old and dated, the breakfast was dull and not very interesting at all, our room was only cleaned twice because we were in the room when they called, they never came back later, the staff were friendly though and the location of the hotel was good, but i would not recommend or use again

A nice hotel, clean and the staff were super friendly. The bathroom was a bit small and the toilet a real squeeze. Otherwise the double room was of adequate size. The room was cleaned each day and was always left spotless. The bedding was sometimes a bit worn but was always clean.

Wonderful Little Hotel.

This is the perfect hotel for a few days in Bangkok. It is clean, central and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. It consisted of fruit, toast, jam and your choice of eggs. The coffee was perfect. There is a wonderful little courtyard that is great for sitting around in. Very close to all of the major sites but also very quiet and peaceful.

Sourrire is a nice place to stay. They need to invest just a small amount to improve the quality of their rooms, a shower head that doesn't spray everywhere would be nice.
The location is ideal in the old city and far enough from Khao San that it us nice and quiet. The breakfast is basic as I expect most accommodation of this quality offers.

I had a wonderful stay here. From the friendly welcome to an early but equally friendly departure. The breakfast was excellent and the courtyard bar area delightful. This hotel has character. Location was superb. A nice quiet street but close to all the main tourist sights in Bangkok. All just a short tuktuk ride away. I was very impressed and if I get the opportunity to visit Bangkok again I would love to return to the Sourire.

Great experience in the right area of bangkok if you want to stay for couple of night. 10 minutes from Grand Palace and easy to get from Aeroport,just take bus S1 and than walk for 5 minutes from Democracy Monument.i would stay here again next time I come here.

overall experience is positive but have 2 negative comments.We requested a packed breakfast cos we had to leave early for a trip, it wasnt accomodated

My only negative experience is the hotel is "tucked away:" off the main street. Even with the written directions they gave us to hand to our taxi drivers, the taxi also have a difficult time finding it and needs our help. My suggestions is for them to put the name of their hotel on a sign, along the main road so people knows to turn into the smaller road to get into the hotel.

booked 2 Superior rooms for 2 nights.
neither of the rooms description s were correct!
Our double room with a view of the courtyard! we had a view into flats opposite, looking directly into there rooms, some 5 mtrs away from us.
Black out blinds and curtains! No, just a thin net at window and door looking out to belcony, just big enough for one person to stand! No privicy, especially at night.
toilet ect, very small, need to airside ways on toilet, due to only 1 ft from wall!
Air conditioning, very noisy! had to request they look at and they did make it a little quieter.
We were woken each morning at about 6.30 am with music from the Breakfast room and noisy staff.
We requested a quiet room when we booked with a view, good job we did or who knows what room we might have received!
Breakfast, well I was very disappointed. no choice other that egg choice.
First you get a little fruit brought to you table, no choices, but very little cube's.
then you have to choose either tea, coffee or fruit juice, not all, only one!
then toast arrives, again no choice, just toasted bread. think plain bread should be offered! Then comes the eggs x 2 poached, fryed or a tomato and onion omlet. Think this hotel needs to update rooms and offer a fuller breakfast choice. I would rate this hotel as a 1-2 Star hotel only.

If booked on hotels.com the hotel is not in the place the map shows - it is actually on a small back street leading off from Democracy Monument therefore it took us a while to find.

Wonderful Staff at a Good Budget Hotel

Everyone at Sourire Rattanakosin is welcoming, friendly and helpful!

The hotel property and rooms are spacious and clean. The wifi and AC in our room worked fine. The breakfast was served by super friendly staff and consisted of a fruit plate, eggs, toast (jams/butter/ etc.) and a drink of choice.

For travelers on a budget looking for a convenient location, walking distance from landmarks, markets, food, and tour agencies, Sourire Rattanakosin is an excellent choice!

The superior room was small and dark. The old-fashioned furniture and lace curtains might be called charming - they reminded me of eastern Europe 20 years ago. The toilet didn't have a good odor. Anyone with long legs wouldn't be able to sit on it because it's so close to the wall it faces. Wifi was good. Downstairs lobby and garden were nice. The alley you walk down to Democracy Monument was creepy and smelled like urine at night. I read reviews saying the bigger rooms are great, so maybe book one of those. There are many better places for the price in Bangkok.

Ok, but...

Booked a superior (basic) room, which turned out to be small with a bathroom you could barely turn around in nothing like the photos. It was also not very clean and unkempt - handles missing from bedside cabinet, no safe in the room, when we asked for one a small safe was brought in and placed in cupboard. Had we not already paid in advance for the room, we would have left. As it was we decided to upgrade to a deluxe room, which was slightly better, however we had to pay nearly full rate to do this (50B) per night discount. Although the bathroom was bigger, the shower curtain was torn, handles missing from furniture, the towels had seen better days and the shower tiles were water stained for the whole four day stay. The good points - the bedding was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall I suppose you get what you pay for, this is an older hotel in a rundown area that could do with a spruce up. If you are on a budget it would be ok, but there are better hotels available in Bangkok for a similar price.

We really enjoyed our stay here. When we arrived, our bags had been lost and the staff were amazing at finding us some food and directing us to where we could find some supplies. The room was spacious and the temperature nice and cool in the summer heat. Bathroom really clean and we had no problem with wifi or outside noise. Would happily return!

I would not recommend

Difficult to find at first. It isn't walking distance to anything, not even food so a taxi is required to get any where...not many taxis want to give you a ride, they are just passing through but not interested in transporting. Didn't see tourist and I felt unsafe walking the surroundings area. This lead to me leaving after the second day to a different hotel. The rooms are small and the bathroom is the smallest I have ever seen. When you sit on the toilet your knees touch the wall (im a 98lb female - can't imagine someone bigger sitting there). Also, elevators don't work. So be ready to drag your bags up and down the stairs.
The staff was very friendly and helpful but it was just an inconvenient stay.

Great hotel. I was worried about the breakfast reviews because I don't eat eggs, but my fears were unwarranted. You get fruit, toast, bacon even.... you don't have to have the eggs! That said it is the same every day. Nevertheless, I have no regrets about theis hotel and strongly recommend family travellers on a budget to give this serious consideration. It's very central and you can walk to the main historic and cultural sights easily. The democracy monument is a hub for taxi and tuk tuk travel so you can easily get further afield. Great hotel and great people... very friendly. It is a little hidden though. Take a map to show the taxi driver!

Just away from the main busy road, so nice and quiet. Fantastic staff who were so friendly and nothing was too much. Breakfast excellent, especially the eggs!

Tip for anyone getting there from the airport by taxi, get the taxi to the democracy monument and walk from there (1 minute) as no taxi driver in Bangkok seems to be able to find it!

Great rustic hotel w/ great amenities/location

We had a lovely stay. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. The room was very rustic and beautiful with the dark wood. It was a relief to have a shower with a containing wall. :) The location is perfect - very close to the temples and landmarks for walking distance and easy for a taxi to find. The free breakfast offers enough to really fill you for the morning, the WiFi is fast and good. Terrific value for the price (I just can't pronounce the name)

Helpful staff but rooms disappointing

The rooms were dark without adequate lighting. The bathroom was very small (had to side saddle on the toilet ) and the shower did not drain. The sheets seemed mostly clean although there were not headboards and the wall was dirty. There were small little ants all over inside my hat when we got back. Although in a creepy alleyway which was a bit sketchy after dark, the hotel's overall location is convenient to the weekend market and Grand Palace etc and the lady at the front desk was very helpful . Breakfast was also good.

Schlechte Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!
Zimmer sind sehr alt und abgewohnt und müssen dringend saniert werden. Kein Fön, etc, vorhanden. Außerdem sehr hellhörig - ohne Ohrstöpsel kann man nicht schlafen.
Die Lage ist allerdings sehr gut, das Personal sehr freundlich und das Frühstück auch gut.

Service nah Rest ok

Das Hotel ist für seine 3 Sterbestunde preis auf jedenfall in Ordnung. Die Lage ist auch nicht schlecht.
Was sehr gestört hat war, das uns verwehrt wurde etwas zu drucken. Die Begründung war nur das sie keinen Drucker haben? Schwache Leistung. Auch auf anfragen ob uns ein Taxi gerufen werden kann würde nur auf den Airporttransfer hingewiesen für 600 Bath. Eine Frechheit, ein normales Taxi kostet keine 400 inkl Trinkgeld. Also dürften wir uns eins aus dem Verkehr ziehen....
Vorzugeben war aber der ältere Herr an der Rezeption der uns ein frühes Frühstück ermöglicht hat :)

첫방콕여행이라그런지 숙소도 은근 기대되었습니다.숙소는 나쁘진않았지만 침대는 기분이안좋았었습니다. 트윈베드로 예약하였으나 더블베드로 배정이되었습니다. 워킹스트릿트와는 10분정도 있고 조용했습니다. 또한 아침조식도 간단하고 정결하여 만족하였습니다. 전반적인평가는 괜찮습니다. 다만 직원분이 영어소통이 조금어려웠습니다.

窓のない部屋だったので閉塞感がありました
ワイファイきれぎれ
シムカード変えてたのでよかったけどそうじゃなかったら全然使えなかったと思います
場所はまあまあいいけど
もう少しカオサン通りに近いところを次回は探します

カオサン通りや王宮に近い

清掃後洗面台の下のタオルがびしゃびしゃに濡れていた。
朝食美味しかったです。
フェイスタオルはないけど大きめのバスタオルはあった。
カオサン通りや王宮に歩いて行けた。
トゥクトゥクなど使えばはやい。
総合的に泊まる分には充分大丈夫だった。鏡が大きくてとても良かった。
フロントさんも話しやすい雰囲気でドライヤー貸してくれました。

二泊しました。カオサンから5分位か？静かな立地です。冷蔵庫も有り、シャワーの湯量もまずまず。なので、設備的には及第点。

As fotos não condizem com a realidade!
O quarto é pequeno mas é ok. Cama confortável, o ar é um pouco antigo mas refresca (apesar do pequeno barulho).
O banheiro é péssimo. Muito pequeno e o chuveiro da altura do rosto, tenho cerca de 1,81. Molha o chão todo de fora devido a falta de espaco. Pra usar a privada, tem que sentar de lado.
Apesar da área que o hotel está ser boa, o hotel fica em um beco dentro de outro, sério! Fiquei com medo quando cheguei..rs, mas é seguro.
O café é alacarte, vc escolhe uma das opções e eles fazem pra vc..tem fruta tmb. É um café bom.
Não ficaria lah denovo

Sehr zentrales, angenehmes Hotel in der Altstadt

Wir hatten am Ende unseres Urlaubs 4 Tage Zeit in Bangkok, in denen wir möglichst viel von der Stadt und ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten sehen wollten. Dazu eignet sich das Hotel sehr gut als Ausgangspunkt. Der Palast mit Wat Phra Keo, das Nationalmuseum, Wat Po, Wat Arun, der Fluss und die Klonks mit den Ausflugsbooten sind in 15-20 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Ebenso die Khao San Road mit ihren Shopping- und Street-Food-Angeboten, Restaurants und Bars. Chinatown ist absolut sehenswert, dauert zu Fuß etwa 30 Minuten. Das Hotel liegt in einer gepflegten, sicheren Gegend, verkehrsmäßig gut erschlossen durch öffentliche Busse, Taxis und Tuk-Tuks. Das abwechslungsreiche, wenngleich nicht allzu üppige Frühstück wird am Tisch serviert.

Неплохой отель с прекрасным местоположением. Обстановка в номерах скромная, но вполне достаточная. Особо понравилось то, что в номер не проникает городской шум и можно прекрасно выспаться. Обслуживание в отеле хорошее.

Abbiamo preso una camera familiare, ampia e ben attrezzata. Posizione comoda, ma incastrato tra gli edifici, compensato però da un verde ben curato. Personale gentilissimo e pronto a soddisfare tutte le esigenze. Qualche magagna come l'ascensore malfunzionante. Per 2 giorni di permanenza a Bangkok è più che sufficiente.

Kind and helpful staff

Probaly one of the best located hotels in Bangkok. A whole lot of activites in walking distance. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. Daily cleaning was really nice. Breakfast was really good but I would really have liked some more to drink other than coffee and tea.
All in all a great hotel!

조용하고 친절하고 편해요!

새벽3시쯤 체크인 했는데도 기다려주시고 조식 직원들도 친절해요. 조식도 맛있고! 카오산에서 아주 가까운데도 조용하고 깨끗합니당ㅎㅎ 들어오는 길이 무섭다는 후기가 많아 걱정했었는데 큰길로 오면되구요. 거리도 차이 안날뿐더러 큰길로 나오면 바로 버스정류장도 있어요ㅎㅎ 안좋은점은 막 방에 들어왔을땐 화장실에 지린내..가 좀 났고 첫날에 큰길가에서 무슨 축제인지 레이스인지 해서 새벽 6시까지 아주 씨끄러웠어요(근데 이건 호텔 문제가 아니고 그 날만 그래으니 고려안하셔도 될거같네용)

호텔 안과 밖이 180도 다른 곳

호텔 주변은 도시의 허름한 동네 뒷골목 이었지만 호텔안은 아늑하고 깔끔한 느낌으로 주인의 세심한 관리가 느껴졌다. 스탠다드 룸은 너무 협소해서 이그제큐티브 룸으로 변경하여 4일동안 편안하고 조용하게 잘지냈다. 카오산로드와 왕궁및 왓포 가까이 있어 관광하기 좋고 조식은 개인주문식으로 괜찮은편이며 주인장과 스탭모두친절하다. 햇볕이 잘 안드는건 글쎄 단점일지 장점일지...
총평-가격대비 완전만족,재방문 의사100%

便利・快適・お得

建物は若干古いですか、清潔にされており、スタッフの対応もすばらしかったです。
まずはロケーションから。
エアポートリンクの終点（パヤタイ駅）からタクシーで70bで事前にこのホテルの地図をプリントアウトして提示した方がスムーズです。（バンコクでタクシーを使うのであれば地図か、住所をタイ語で書いたものが無いと難しいです）カオサン通りまで徒歩10分、エメラルド寺院まで徒歩20分、サイアムスクエア周辺にはセンブー運の終点バンファまで徒歩で10分でセンブー運河の船に乗り終点プラトーナムまでスイスイ20分で行けます。（プラトーナム周辺は若者が集まるショピング街です）
航空機が遅れ、チェックインが0:00をまわりそうだったので、ディレイのメールをすると返信が直ぐあり、お気をつけてのメッセージと地図の添付ファイルがありました。
実際にはチェックインが0:30時頃でしたが快く迎えてくれました。
ホテルの人と一緒に部屋の説明の為に部屋へ‥wi-hiの説明、エアコン、冷蔵庫には水とペプシコーラがフリーですと‥
部屋には普通に鍵を使って入ります。
部屋はシンプルでスッキリしておりベッドは高めですが普通です。
日本のホテルのアメニティーと部屋内の付帯設備の違いは、浴衣、歯ブラシ、髭剃り、ポット、ティッシュ、スリッパがありません。
セキュリティボックスはあります。
ベッドの感覚、枕の高さが私的にはピッタリで朝までぐっすり寝る事が出来ました。
朝食は1階フロント前のフロアでいい音の音楽を聴きならが、係の人が順にフルーツ3種、コーヒーまたは紅茶、パン、卵料理（4種類からチョイス）を持ってきて、普通に美味しくいただきました。（フルーツは3種の内一つが毎日変わります、また、テーブル上の調味料に醤油がありました）
お客にアジア系外国人は少なかったです。（滞在中日本人とは会いませんでした）
ネットワークはwi-hiがストレスなく無料で使えます。
帰りは夜のフライトだったのでチェックアウト後荷物を預かってもらいました。
そこそこいいホテルを利用している人にとってはイマイチと感じるかもしれませんが、便利でコストパフォーマンスが高いホテルでした。

Een superplek op een toplocatie in Bangkok.

Ik voelde me hier direct thuis. Het hotel is zeer sfeervol, personeel is fantastisch, kamers zijn schoon, hete douche, kortom perfect. Zeer goede locatie in het centrum van Bangkok. Dichtbij allerlei bezienswaardigheden. Kao San Road is slechts 5 minuten lopen.
Ik was met mijn zoontje van 1,5. De kamer was keurig voorzien van een net ledikantje.
Ontbijt was inbegrepen en was prima. Watermeloen, ananas, banaaan en toast met beleg en ei. Voor de prijs echt heel erg goed.
