Great service and staff. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Complementary water bottles were given every day which was much appreicated. Location is convienent and there is a relative quiet side road in front of the hotel, which makes it easy to access taxis and load luggage. Sound proofing is okay, but could hear next door occasionally and there is a bar next to the hotel which plays music constantly, but couldnt hear it from the room.

A good place to stay if your plans include visiting Buddist Temples due to close proximity to several important Wats. Was generally an okay stay but a few things were sub-optimal. Not quite close enough to Khaosan Rad district on foot. Room was a bit cramped, for example, bashed my forehead on the air conditioner getting out of bed. Bathroom sink had no storage space for toileteries. TV stations had only limited news broadcasts on English-speaking channels, and no English-speaking movie channel. Hotel would not supply a 2nd room card, so you come back to a hot room as air conditioner turns off when you take the room pass card.

Overall it's a good hotel. We had issues with the locker and the shower. The shower is very weird and it was a bit uncomfortable. Not a lot of amenities other than a bar and you have to take an elevator and then climb the stairs to go to the 6th floor. Cleanliness can be improved a little bit more.

Despite the comical name the hotel doesn't take itself too seriously and has a lot of local charm. Distinctive design of the rooms makes up for low ceilings - the glass-windowed bathrooms are an excellent touch. I recommend at least going for the rooms that have a sofa alcove - the smaller rooms without that look a bit too cramped (?). The alleys surrounding the hotel are gritty but the contrast between poverty and privilege is typical of Bangkok and something to reflect on.

The Siam Champs Hotel was an excellent experience. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a quaint hotel. The location is excellent within an easy 10 minute stroll to Khoa San Road. The breakfast staff is excellent and works hard to satisfy the guests. Coffee/Latte is prepared to order as well as eggs. Beyond that, western breakfast options are few. Our room did not have a shower and only a tub which made it a bit awkward. Overall it was a great stay and we would recommend this property.

Good location on a side street with a quiet room. WiFi adequate and TV had only CNBC and BBC News in English, no English entertainment channels. Breakfast very limited for Westerners, pre-cooked fried eggs and refused to cook fresh fried eggs, no bacon only hot dogs, pre-mixed omelet and scrambled eggs available but no ingredients available for the omelet. Pancakes are not fresh but warmed-up and no syrup available. There is toast, orange juice and filter coffee and cornflakes. Salad items along with watermelon and pineapple. For Asian breakfast there appears to be a different selection of 5-items each morning. The hotel staff would not provide a printed receipt on checkout.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Siam Champs Elyseesi Hotel. Our room (junior suite) was large and comfortable and the hotel was off the main road so pretty quiet. The cost of taxis is so cheap that even though it isn't situated in the middle of everything, it didn't matter. The staff were very helpful and always cheerful. It might have been easier if more of the front desk staff had a better understanding of English, but it didn't spoil our stay at all. The breakfast was very good and dinner in the restaurant was very enjoyable although choice was fairly limited. We would definitely consider staying there again.

It had a rollo style shower curtain, which I started to pull down only to find it absolutely disgusting full of stains and mould. So I didn't use it at all.

Lovely little hotel. Just off the main road so nice and quiet.
Our room had a wonderful view of the Golden Temple.
The Royal Palace is an easy walk away as is the reclining Buddha.
Khao San Street is very close 5 minutes walk cross the road and turn right at the city library.

Good hotel about a 10 minute walk from KhoSan road with all the restaurants and bars you could want and about a 20 minute walk from Wat Po and the river. Only downside is that from the airport you are Looking at getting the train to Phaya Thai (easy and cheap at 45 Baht) and then a tuk tuk for about 200 Baht to the Democracy Monument which is a 1 minute walk away.

Be sure to confirm your room has a shower if you assumed that is something that would be included. Ours only had a bathtub. The staff is unfriendly and intimidated us when we raised concerns that our room did not have a shower even though the pictures on Expedia-specifically for the room we reserved-had pictures of a bathroom with a shower. The posting also explicitly stated that there would be a shower. Of course, we took that statement that there would be a shower for granted because that “amenity” is normally included in any respectable hotel room in the US, Europe, and arguably the planet Earth. Not so, at the Siam Champs Elyseesi, which should give any prospective customer pause. In addition, the room was moldy, dirty and had “suspicious” white stains on the headboard. Beware.

We booked 2 rooms via Expedia for a total of 6 people (2 adults & 4 children).

We arrived at 8pm to discover the rooms were made up only for 2 people per room. The hotel refused to place an additional bed in each room.

We therefore resorted to paying the hotel directly for an additional room for 2 people.

What was highly frustrating was that we were unable to contact Expedia to discuss this issue. To date, I am note sure if the issue was with the hotel not providing the rooms to sleep 3 people room or with Expedia not making it clear that while you book a room for 3 people, you have to pay extra to get a bed for the 3rd person.

The actual rooms we ordered were Junior Suite. These were great rooms and very comfortable.

The good: very well located and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The not so good: the room smelled funny due to aircon. The bathroom door is very flimsy and you can see and hear through the door's wooden blinds. The shower has weak water pressure. It's noisy when people exit and enter adjacent rooms.

The poor: breakfast was very limited and not enough for the guests. When food items ran out, it was either very slowly replaced (like with eggs) or not at all replaced (like with fruit). Not worth paying extra for it.

It was a neat building but I'm 191cm or 6'3\" I banged my head a few times in the dinning room. And the rooms ceiling are very low. Bang my hands on the ceiling putting on a tee shirt. So good place for less then tall folks. Also they demand a 1,000 Bhat cash deposit on check in. Not documented on Expedia. Luckily I had hit the ATM at the airport when I landed.

The SCEUH calls itself a \"Unique Hotel,\" which indeed it is. The hotel is of modest size with an extraordinarily friendly staff, great rooms, marvelous views of Buddhist temples, and a fine dining area. I honestly cannot fault our stay there in any way.

We loved this hotel!

We had a great stay! The staff was wonderful and very helpful. They upgraded us for free because it was our honeymoon. The view from our room was awesome! They recommended where to eat and helped us get a taxi to the airport. There was delicious street food right outside. The room was really nice, clean, and comfortable. The only thing we didn’t love was that the bathroom didn’t have an actual shower. It was a tub with a hand held sprayer in it, which made it difficult to clean ourselves off quickly. Overall, we are happy we chose this hotel, though!

This is not related to the hotel but I think it’s worth mentioning. Beware of anyone who approaches you after you come out of the hotel, offering to give you advice on where to go and what to see. We got swindled by a guy who seemed nice and got stuck in a couple hours of running around the city in a tuk tuk and overspending on the places he brought us. He also told us that the main tourist places were closed due to a holiday and wouldn’t take us there, and that turned out to be a lie. So just do what your plans were and don’t let anyone make an itinerary for you and put you on their friend’s tuk tuk!

There’s one thing that I don’t really like, we cheked in there Me and my husband, they knew that there’s two person thats going to be staying in that room, and the chair inside the room is only 1 so where are is my husband going to sit-down if I am using the chair? So I asked for another chair and they charged me for 50 baht. Do you think it’s fair? If they knew that there will be 2 guests in the room and they just put only one chair and they will charge me for an extra one.

Great place to stay to visit temples and grand palace area. Rooms very clean and comfortable and everything that you need .Efficient A.C. Staff friendly and helpful in finding places or even helping fix my suitcase lock! Nothing too much trouble . Didn't eat here so can't comment on food as not booked breakfast . Had breakfast at Krit coffee bar near by. Walk the local streets to see some of real Bangkok. Nice evening drink at Press Sky bar . Would highly recommend staying here , we had 3 nights and could if stayed longer. Use hop on hop off boat for up and down river. Use tuk tuk or taxi if want to rest your feet from the walking, but lors in walking distance

The hotel is in a great area, close to many attractions. The men who help with the luggage were nice and helpful. The front desk staff was horrible. They were rude and unhelpful. Many employees are always using the computers in the concierge area, making it impossible to even get a map. The room was nice enough but much, much smaller than it looked on the website photos. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone because of the front desk staff, and would definitely not stay here again.

Our stay here was good overall except for some points. First the good. The hotel is in walking distance from many of the main tourist attractions. It is clean and tidy and very comfortable.

Now the bad- It was not easy to get to from the airport and clearer directions could be added to the website to facilitate this. The staff seemed very mistrustful of us and demanded we leave a 1000Baht deposit when we arrived which we were unaware of and unprepared for. They also used our deposit to pay the return taxi to the airport without our approval or knowledge. Finally they could’ve been more helpful considering this was our first visit to Bangkok.

Overall very good but their customer services could be improved.

Comfortable

The room was really large. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice. Location was convenient, only about a 10 minute tuktuk ride from the grand palace.
