Hotel has a peaceful and beautiful lakeside property with direct access to Maggiore. It is generally very quiet and serene, but sometimes the loud motorcycles and cars can be heard well during the night. Other than that everything was good.

I also highly recommend having your own car in the region for movement around the lake and surrounding regions.

Very friendly, clean and beautiful gem!

Stayed for one night with my boyfriend and our two dogs! The staff was really friendly and accommodating, even giving me dog beds and dog bowls. Very friendly, clean and beautiful hotel.
The breakfast was lovely too. A lot of different options and we sat overlooking the water.
Highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely setting. The suite is beautiful, but from the suite, access to the lake/facilities requires a walk down a street to enter the main part of the hotel again. In other words, no direct access. Tiffany's restaurant for dinner was great. Breakfast service was lacking, but food was fine. Overall a good experience which I'd recommend.

Paradise! I was alone and the staff was so accommodating and kind and thoughtful. I extended my stay a night because I did not want to leave. I like that it was remote, but near enough to Luino where I could enjoy tourist activities such as a boat ride and the amazing Market on Wednesdays.

Charming Hotel in a lovely spot.

My husband and are very well traveled and we found this hotel to be one the most charming places we have ever stayed. Food, room, service cleanliness were all outstanding and well priced. The proprietor and her staff are more than eager to please. There are so many wonderful and special touches in every every corner and nook throughout the hotel and the magnificent garden, including a wellness center at the top of the garden, which is on many levels. The owner's pride is seen in the care she gives to the property. What a wonderful place to visit.

Nice views of Lake Maggiore...

We only stayed for one night at Hotel Camin Colmegna, and found that it was a nice hotel, with a decent breakfast. They have a nice 'beach' area to laze about and go for a swim in the lake, which is a grassed area with chairs and a bar, and stair or ladder access to the lake. Swimming in the lake was very refreshing as it was hot and humid when we arrived.
The room was smallish, but had pleasant views to Lake Maggiore. The parking was good.
The hero at this hotel are the views of Lake Maggiore. There is not much else nearby within walking distance. In fact you can't walk along the road very far in either direction, as it is a main road with no footpaths.
It is walking distance to the railway station for access to Luino.

Perfect hideaway

What a gem this hotel is, set in a hamlet on the edge of the lake. The restaurant has the most perfect view. The food is good not perfect but ok , however what you pay for is the view.
Rooms are spacious , and staff are friendly.
Gardens are fantastic with the bonus if being directly on the lake meaning you can jump straight in for a swim.

This was a superior hotel and a bit upscale. View was spectacular from our room. The desk lady was unbeatable; sweet and cheerful as can be. Bed was one piece mattress but pretty hard. This hotel is a short train, bus, or car ride of about 4km from Luino and their market. Not recommended to walk it. Bike it ok.

The elegance of this hotel may have faded somewhat, but it's still elegant. The secluded waterfront location is a treasure. The views are spectacular!! The property offers a spa, a grotto, a boat entry. The food is good, the service not quite together. There is a train stop at Colmegna, but we had to carry luggage from there to the hotel (.5km). It would have been nice to stay longer.

When I booked our room at the Camin Colmegna, I expected it to be nice and quaint and quiet. It was that and so much more. The property sits right on the lake and has a long stone and gravel path that wraps around the hillside along the water. The breakfast was more than plentiful and the staff literally work day and night to keep you feeling pampered. We booked a deluxe room that looked like it had just been redone complete with a modern bath with a remote controlled skylight. My only regret was not spending the entire two weeks of our holiday sunning on the grass by the lake being served cold beverages by the smiling staff. The hotel is located central to Lugano, Bellinzona and Locarno for day trips and sightseeing.

A dream location, 5star hotel with 3star rating

Wow, how did you find this hotel, my husbands words when we arrived and it only got better. A very pleasant receptionist brought us to our standard very pretty and spacious room. We then were offered coffee or tea with complimentary home made cakes, fab. We spent an hour or 2 in the fab gardens with loungers and swam in their private area of the lake, dinner on the amazing lakeside terrace was perfect with lovely staff attending. The great breakfast was taken on another smaller lakeside terrace. Sad to leave.

Nice though a little noisy

We only stayed one night on our trip from Germany to Italy. The hotel and its park were very nice. The only concern we had was the road noise. We were there on a very hot day. As our \"family room\" did not have A/C we tried to sleep with the windows open. However the noise from the road was just too much. As long as the weather is such that you can sleep with the windows closed, it's no issue.

Fabulous views of Lake Maggiore

We stayed for two nights at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony overlooking the lake, ideal for sitting and enjoying the views. Our room was very pretty if a little on the small side. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the meals were delicious and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was served overlooking the lake and it included a really wide range of choices.

One night was too short.

We stayed a night here on our way from Italy to Germany. I read all the great reviews prior to staying here, but had I known more about the property we would have stayed longer. The grounds are very pretty with a really nice grass \"deck\" for lounging in the sun and jumping in the lake. The views from the property are fantastic, and we derived the most pleasure from having a drink at the numerous sitting areas and taking in the surroundings. The room was a good size for a shorter stay, and the bathroom was just a nice. The beds were a bit stiff and the lack of AC made the lake humidity a bit strong. Opening the windows wasn't a great option due to the mosquitos. But by the time the sun went down, it was plenty comfortable in the room for a decent nights sleep. We were a bit disappointed in the food. Reading through the menu and looking at the prices, I think we expected a bit more. It was good food, but I don't think it was quite the fine dining experience they are trying to portray. But again, the view makes up for the price of the meal. We will definitely stay there again given the chance.

Loved it!

We really loved this place! In fact we didn't leave the grounds for the entire weekend, partly due to our youngest child being sick but also because we had such a good time swimming, discovering the garden, playing table tennis, eating and sunbathing. Our two boys (7 and 9) loved the \"rain forest\" (guess the name came up thanks to the abundance of lizards) and playing and swimming in the lake. The rooms we stayed in were not big but very cozy with small patios in front, and although it was very hot (30+) we were OK not having aircon. The restaurant was excellent with fantastic views of the lake. The bar was very cozy with nice sofas. We also used the \"beach bar\" (not on the beach but on the grassy terrace with sun chairs), which was nice and convenient too. As mentioned we didn't venture into Colmegna, much less Luino, but the latter is only a three minute drive away. We were going to take the boat from Luino to the Cannobio market on Sunday but, having been there once already, decided to stay at the hotel and swim some more!

We were delighted with the hotel. It is in a lovely situation, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was light and bright and very comfortable. The dining room had a lovely view over the lake and the food was delicious. The gardens and setting were very pretty. The only thing is that it is not conveniently located to transporation or sites if one is sight-seeing. One really needs a car, which we did not have, to enjoy the surrounding area.

In Colmegna

This is a lovely location and the hotel has very nice service, however, it is not in the town of Luino and is not within walking distance to the ferry. We had many challeneges getting from the hotel to anywhere else. Weekends and holidays have limited train and bus schedules and we could not find a car to rent. There was only one taxi as far as we could tell. It is imperative that you rent a car or be very diligent about using the train (which is very close to the hotel, but limited in schedule).

I expected the ambiance to feel as ancient and historic as its pedigree, but the hotel really felt more like 1960, with American music and a menu to go along with it. The grounds are stunning and full of fun little things to discover.

There is only one other restraurant in Colmegna, and Itlaian Pizzeria across the street, and no other amusements beyond the grounds. While we enjoyed our saty, I would choose a hotel in Stresa where you can easily link to nearly all the other sites.

Wonderful hotel on Lake Maggiore

This hotel delivers quality beyond the prices it charges. A dreamlike location on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore; probably the best view from any hotel window in Europe. The grounds/gardens are wonderful, with an unending choice of the perfect place to sit at any time of day. Fantastic welcome and continued great service from a staff team that reflects the passion and attention to detail of the owner.

Colazione molto ricca e ben esposta; certo si vede che è una colazione per tedeschi, svizzeri principalmente ospiti del nord Europa. Il personale gentilissimo è sempre disponibile per qualsiasi richiesta, buon ristorante con tavoli esterni posizionati in luoghi ameni. Camera grande illuminata da tre grandi finestre vista lago, letto comodo, bagno con finestra sul lago senza bidet, almeno nella camera 210. Parcheggio.

Alles einfach perfekt - die Lage, Austattung, Restorant, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Eigetlich schade, dass wir auf Durchreise waren und nur eine Nacht geblieben sind - es ist einfach ein kleines Paradis, in dem einem alle Wünsche von den Lippen abgelesen werden. Nächstes mal bleiben wir länger.
Nur für Leute mit sehr empfindlichen Ohren - es ist ein Altbau und deswegen etwas hellhörig in der Nacht. Auf den perfekten Matrazen schläft man aber in wenigen Sekunden wieder ein.

Hôtel situé près d’un tunnel . Une circulation intense , plus la voie ferrée. On entend tout dans les chambres Et c’est compliqué de dormir. Rideaux non occultants. Pas de bouteille de courtoisie. Très beau cadre. Super restaurant et le petit-déjeuner est top.
Luino est loin de tout et il vau mieux loger sur l’autre rive du lac majeur.

Das ganze Hotel sieht hübsch und neu aus, das Frühstücksbuffet ist hochwertig und lecker mit frischem Obst und Gemüse, allerdings jeden Tag gleich. Die Zimmer sind neu, sauber und hübsch. Leider hatten wir mit Hund und Baby ein Zimmer im 3. Stock, es gibt keinen Aufzug. Eine Treppe, die Abkürzung, war aus einem Gitter, mit Hund unmöglich. Wir haben am Hotel nie einen Parkplatz bekommen, auf der Homepage sagt es, zwei Parkplätze pro Zimmer. Es war furchtbar, alles immer hin und her zu schleppen. Die versprochenen Extras fürs Baby (Fläschchenwärmer, Wanne) fehlten zunächst und wurden erst auf mehrmaliges Fragen gebracht, die Decke für den Hund war viel zu klein. Der Garten ist wunderschön, an den See selbst kommt man mal wieder nur über Gitter. Der auf den online suggerierte Privatstrand, an dem Hunde erlaubt sind, ist öffentlich, dreckig und dort sind Hunde verboten. Der Kinderpool war kalt und komplett dreckig und ungepflegt. Das Spielzeug im Sandkasten war traurig und dreckig. Es stehen viele große Kakteen den Weg entlang, wo man öfter mal hängen bleibt. Direkt am Hotel entlang geht eine viel befahrene Hauptstraße ohne Gehsteig. In den nächsten Ort zu laufen wäre wirklich gefährlich. Ansonsten kann man im Dorf nichts machen, die Pizzeria gegenüber lohnt sich höchstens . Zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung fährt man extrem lange, da man durch Dörfer kurvt, also für 30km sollte man eine Stunde einplanen. Wir sind vorzeitig abgereist und haben es nicht bereut.

Konstruktive Kritik:
Einstiegstreppe in den See ist nicht sehr fußfreundlich, die Salami auf dem Ft
Frühstücksbuffet sollte gekühlt werden, da durch die Wärme optische und vor allem geschmackliche Veränderungen eintreten.

Es gibt einige Zimmer ohne Aussicht auf den See - unten zwar mit Gartensitzplatz aber auch mit dem gehupe der Autos und dem mitternächtlichen Gebrabbel der Leute! Für viele Menschen ist das Essen das non plus ultra - für uns fehlte viele wichtige Kleinigkeiten - es gibt viel Luft nach oben!

Sehr schöne Ausflug

Hotel Camin Colmegna ist ein super Hotel mit sehr freundliche Staff. Sehr schöne Zimmer, wunderbare Garten, gute Abstellplatz fürs Velo. Trotz zwei Parties am Abend und volles Restaurant, war das Abendessen ausgezeichnet und überhaupt keine Wartezeit. Hut ab!

Hotel in Toplage, Topkomfort - zum Träumen!

Herzlicher, informativer Empfang. Wunderbare Lage direkt am See. Phantastische, romantische Gartenanlage mit mediterraner Vegetatipn - lädt zum Spazieren und Träumen ein. Schönes, sehr sauberes komfortables Zimmer. Und erst das Abendessen: Gediegener Speisesaal mit wunderbarem Blick auf See, umfangreiche Speisekarte für alle \"Geschmäcker\", erlesene Weine und hervorragender, aufmerksamer Service. Hat wohl seinen Preis, aber zurecht.
Alles in Allem: Top-Adresse.
