Very beautiful mountaintop hotel, rooms with wonderful lush views comfortable bed modern decor. Restaurant on premise serving breakfeast lunch and dinner with lots of food and wine options. Outdoor pool in back. The host was quite gracious and even personally picked and dropped us off! A stellar experience!

Hotel is clean, only thing we did not like at the restaurant was for dinner we were served meatballs which we did not ask for and we really couldn't eat since my daughter does not eat meat, but we still got charged for it. Just check your receipt, other than that it is an awesome place to stay.

We had lunch at this hotel 6 years ago and hoped to come back and stay. We were fortunate to stay for 3 nights and had dinner in the restaurant all 3 nights. It appear to be a destination restaurant and we can see why - excellent food and wine list. The room was clean, comfortable and airconditioned - with a spectacular view of Lake Lugano. It is in a small village that is nice to explore.

The hotel is nice and clean, staff very helpful. Amazing location, the view is spectacular. Breakfast was great, even with gluten free bread (ask for it). Also dinner at the restaurant was very nice, good food and afain, the view. Bed a bit lumpy, pillow firm but this place is great value for your money (we had economy room, so no balcony, unfortunately). We had our two dogs with us. There really isnt any place to walk dogs, but we managed. Would stay here again, thank you!

But of a trek to get to, but worth it! Plenty of parking and the staff is very friendly and helpful! There is a restaurant on the property (one of the only ones nearby) that is excellent and the staff will make reservations for your party in advance. The rooftop terrace has a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding city, and the provided breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip through Italy! The amenities are basic and be careful about opening the windows at night (there is no screen and the mosquitoes can be bad) but the bed was comfortable and the area is very quiet at night! Overall lovely experience and would definitely stay again!

The hotel was really nice with rooms that have amazing views of Lake Lugano; the hotel is super clean and the pool area has even better views of the area; the restaurant is nice with an extensive menu and wine list; the only thing I would improve is the individual food and shampoo packaging to make it more Eco friendly; the staff is very friendly and helpful

The photo shown on the Hotel Stampa 1968 page is accurate. It was our view from our Balcony each day of our two day stay here. The staff is excellent. The rooms are very new and clean. Bed is super comfortable. View is incredible. (Make sure to get the Double room with lake views and you will have a balcony which made our trip to Northern Italy extra memorable).
The food is fantastic at the restaurant- great breakfast, and the dinner menu is wonderful. I highly recommend any pizza or any Calzone--they are huge - definitely good for at least two people each-and delicious!

Das Personal war freundlich. Das Essen im Restaurant war ganz gut. Es gibt eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer, leider aber auch ein paar wenige Ameisen. Das Hotel steht oben auf einem Berg, den man nur mit dem Auto erreichen kann. Man kann aber auch ca. 40 min hochlaufen. Der Pool ist sehr klein für die Anzahl der Gäste. Das Hotel ist auch sehr hellhörig. Ab 20 uhr sitzt niemand mehr an der Rezeption. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es einige.

Das Hotel liegt am Hang mit traumhaftem Blick auf den Luganer See. Perfekt ist der wunderschöne Pool mit genau dieser Aussicht und das sehr leckere Abendessen. Auch das Frühstück fanden wir sehr gut und vor allem ausreichend.
Was uns jedoch gar nicht gefallen hat, war die sehr sporadische Einrichtung der Zimmer und das einfach viel zu winzige Bad!

We stayed two nights at this wonderful hotel. It is placed high above Lago Lugano with the most fantastic view - be sure to book a room with a view to the lake. We had all our meals in the restaurant which offers the same view both inside and at the large terrace, which can be covered if the weather require that. The menu offered a nice variation of meat, fish and vegetables delivered with a smile and friendly service. Our labrador was welcome both in our room and in the restaurant - and at no extra cost, which is unusual. Be sure to take a walk up the mountain via the road behind the town - good place for walking the dog (pretty steep - but what a view). All in all at place to return to.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist reichhaltig und die Produkte sind frisch. Abendessen ist absolute Spitze, zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Das Zimmer war geräumig mit einem großen Balkon und Blick auf den Lago di Lugano. Der Pool war noch in Betrieb und ideal um nach einem Wandertag zu entspannen.

Show on Google MapsOur Hotel is a late eighteenth-century villa situated in the magnificent setting of the small, sunny bay of Colmegna, nestled by the lake about 2 km from Luino, with an ancient park covering over 2, 5 acres (1 ha), a beach, a 200-m lakeside walk, romantic paths, a conservatory, a small harbour, buoys, mooring facilities for motorboats, car parks and two terraces on the lake. Our 30 rooms are all different as to decoration and size, yet they share a common feature: they were expressly designed and intended to pamper our guests.
All rooms are furnished in Mediterranean style and have flatscreen TV sets with satellite reception, direct phone line, minibar, safe-deposit box and free WiFi connection.
