I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Caroline in Vienna. Recommend opting for a renovated room, very modern and spacious. The only downside would be it was a bath with a shower curtain which isn’t personal preference but very clean.

The breakfast was satisfying, with a good variety and good quality - including some hams, cheese and eggs as cooked. Paid for mini bar reasonably priced too.

The location of the hotel is very close to both the metro and tram stations, making it easy to move around the city - but be prepared to be cautious when travelling between these and the hotel. A large supermarket a short walk too is super convenient.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

Hotel Caroline whilst not in the heart of old town Vienna has great transport links and all is within easy reach. The facilities are very good. The breakfast spread very, very good. No complaints there. The local area has a middle eastern feel with numerous eateries. The room albeit single was clean and comfortable.

Top quality place. Superbly helpful staff. Bar and an impressive fitness facility with relaxation room attached. Courtyard in the middle with tables too for quiet outdoor time in Vienna in warm weather. Right by tram and u bahn links too so getting into the inner city is easy.

I really liked the hotel. Everything was good, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was nice, and the room was of average cleanliness. There were some hairs on the floor and on the bed, which bothered me a little, but everything else was fine. It’s also close to the train station.

Inside the hotel is modern and clean, the room was a good size with plenty of places to put things, and I found it one of the quieter hotels I've stayed in. I had a friendly welcome and reception is always manned and staff helpful. Located a short walk from a tram stop to Hauptbahnhof or Belvedere (route O), or U-bahn to the Hauptbahnhof, Karlsplatz/Oper, Stephansplatz (U1) the location is convenient, although didn't feel like the best of areas, especially at night. I would recommend this as a place to stay in Vienna.

The breakfast was excellent, lots of choices, and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. There is free public transportation available to go around the city if you register with the hotel. A great place for visiting Vienna

Overall it’s a very good place to stay and visiting Vienna. Although a bit outside the city center, it’s very well connected with busses, trams, and subway. The room and the bathroom were very spacious with a lot of space for storage, and mostly very quiet! The bed too very comfortable. The breakfast buffet in the morning offered a plenty of food, sweets and savory. They do offer a parking possibility at €20/day a block away from the hotel, very convenient when traveling by car.

The hotel is clean and comfy, situated at a location near just 15 mins walk from Wien HBF.
We were really very impressed with the helpfulness of receptionist Syed. He took the time to answer to our many questions and even accommodated to some of our requests. He is the definition of warm Austrian hospitality.
Breakfast was great too. A lot of good cheese.
All in all, this hotel is a gem.

The hotel room was pleasantly large so we had lots of space. The only negative is in our room the bathroom had a window that overlooks the main bedroom space. So when a person takes a shower, anyone in the bedroom can see everything despite the frosted glass. This is an issue if a family is staying there with grown children.

Affordable and close to Vienna Main Station

If your travel itinerary is packed and you just want a place you can sleep/shower, this is the place for you. The hotel is clean and Price is fair for a hotel that is less than a mile to the Main train station. I needed a hotel that is close to the main train station as i do a lot of day trips to neighboring cities/countries.

Room size is not big BUT the main thing i liked is that it has a walk-in closet. I love that i can put everything in there incl luggage so that nothing is on my way in the bed area. Breakfast was okay; and the menu is exactly the same everyday.

Location is great but the area not so much. It's only one block away from cable cars which can take you around the city and get you to the train stations if youre lazy to walk half a mile. Another option is the city subway which is about 3 blocks away. The only thing i have to advise is that to plan to be back in the hotel no later than 9pm. The surrounding area looks shady at night esp when you hop off from the subway where you then need to walk through a park with a bunch of suspicious fellas hanging out. Theres not much restaurants or cafes nearby and the hotel lobby doesnt offer much either. Like i mentioned, this is a perfect place to just sleep and shower before you get to your itinerary for the day.

This location worked for us but it always was about a 15-20 min walk to the subway so we found ourself taxiing a lot because of our walking ability. Taxis were readily available. The hotel breakfast food which was included was exquisite. A few of the staff were unfriendly, but the front desk operator on our departure was very helpful and jovial with us…a breath of fresh air. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Caroline staff was very friendly and helpful. Room service did a great job. The room was lsrge and had nice air conditioning. The walk to the subway was 5 minutes and allowed easy access to all the main tourist attractions and other subway lines. There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel. There was a tram line tight around the block as well. Here is where the point was lost-the park.near the hotel had a lot of police activity and the breakfast was just average at vest. No eggs or hot foods. But I would definitely recommend the hotel. Great value for the price.

I just needed 1 night somewhere close to Wien Hauptbahnhof. This is 15 mins walk or 5 mins by tram from the main station. Super fresh, clean and tidy the room was a decent size and very comfortable. It was also an easy walk into within the ring and all the highlights of Vienna and of course easy to return by metro also. Next door was a Hofer to stock up on supplies. Room had a fridge and mini-bar if you wanted to use it. This, like the room, was a reasonable price.

Nice hotel, situated in a great area for travelling to the main tourist sites. A 4 minute walk to the U bahn Keplerplatz and 15 minutes walk to the main train station.
Staff at reception were friendly and the hotel was clean. They tried to charge me for a drink from the mini bar which I had never touched, so they had obviously not stocked it fully before my arrival. I would advise you to check when you arrive that you have what it says. I never thought to check as I did not plan on using the mini bar but it was sorted and did not cause a problem.

The rooms are very different from what they appear in the photo. It has nothing to do with the photos. There is very old furniture and lamp cords dangling from the ceiling. There was lady hair all over the bed. Runway. It squeaks loudly when pressed on the boards on the floor. It's like a 100 year old village house. I recommend walking until you get to the elevator. It's very slow, like an antique. Awful and narrow. There is a huge window in the toilet & bathroom. It can be seen very easily when viewed from the apartment opposite. No privacy was considered. Toilet window like living room. Right next to the toilet.
There is no breakfast option. One thing that is disgusting is that there are 3 female attendants in the breakfast room. The ladies wear thin aprons that resemble a doctor's apron. Since women wear aprons without wearing any clothes over bra and panties, their insides are clearly visible. It's like they're among naked people. They made us sit at the table next to another family so that you do not remove the table we want to sit at and sit there, sit there. They are very rude. They're chatting. They were making a loud noise among themselves. They were nagging guests without thinking.
He shamelessly told the receptionist that the room was not what it looks like in the photos on the internet and when I asked them to change it, he shamelessly said the same.
Never stays is a place. Doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Nice hotel. Convenient location close to the O tram and with the 14A bus stopping right outside the door! It’s only a 10 min walk from the Hauptbahnhof as well. Lovely room. Only downside was the air con didn’t work properly so it was warm and stuffy (even though the outside temperature was low!).

We stayed in the triple room which was very clean and spacious. However, the bathroom has a large frosted window into the bedroom and this creates two problems, firstly you can see through to anyone using the shower! Secondly at night the bathroom light illuminates the whole bedroom, waking everyone up.
Breakfast was simple cold continental style, plenty to eat, but the hotel bar was very limited and we couldn't find anything we liked.
The staff were very nice and provided a few alternatives for us like non-feather pillows and non-dairy milk. I would have liked a kettle and mug in the room (is this a British thing?), but the staff were able to provide the kettle and I borrowed a mug from breakfast.
The surrounding area is unremarkable, there was a fair bit of construction going on, but this was not audible from the hotel. The tram runs right past the hotel and this did disturb one of our group at night. There train and underground stations are only 10mins away and it's very easy to travel to the tourist areas.

The area is a little more working class than places a little closer to the old town but the rooms were well worth the price. The parking area is about two blocks away but is gated so our car was close by and safe. And did I mention that the staff was fantastic? We will be back the next time we are in Vienna.

The main man on reception, Marios, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would stay here again just based on his service alone. The room itself was nothing special, but had all you'd really need for a short stay: a bed, a bathroom, a sofa, and a fridge as well as a TV too. It was clean and there was nothing to complain about.

The tram interchange directly opposite was not a noise issue, however if you want to sleep with the windows open, it certainly would be.

The area around the hotel isn't the greatest, though not awful. Between the hotel and the closest U-Bahn station, Keplerplatz, you must walk past a church and small park. Literally every single hour of every day, there are gangs of people hanging around the church being loud, drinking, littering, throwing cans around etc. Our earliest venture past was before 8am, and our latest was after midnight. Both times, and all in-between, these gangs were there.

Decent hotel for what it was--a budget hotel. Don't expect a 5-star experience of course, but it's still very decent for its price.

First, the good: they seem to go above and beyond what you would expect from a budget hotel: they have a bar downstairs, gym adds a nice touch, and their breakfast is nothing fancy but it does have a good variety of items. The employees are responsive and helpful.

And now the bad: The WiFi is usually fine, but there were times when it was slightly spotty, which can be frustrating if you're hoping to work. The heater is very difficult to use, and there's no AC (but they do have fans). The shower water temperature is also inconsistent, sometimes turning hot and cold, and can be hard to get right.

Overall, I would recommend this place, especially at the budget price range. For a solo traveler like me, it was just fine, but for a romance or honeymoon trip, you would probably spend a little more to get a more deluxe experience.

Завтрак скучноват, мы были там неделю, и каждый день та же сыро/колбасная нарезка и выпечка.
Гостиница находится не в самом центре, но очень близко к метро и прямо у выхода из гостиницы останавливается автобус, на котором тоже можно доехать до центра (до знаменитой пешеходной улицы Марияхильферштрассе). В районе гостиницы можно найти и где поесть, и есть неплохие магазинчики, и маленькие супермаркеты.

Good location with red metro 500 meters away, tram O 250 meters and bus 14a outside the door.

My fifth time to stay here and it's as good as ever.

The hearty continental breakfast sets a boy up for the day nicely.
