Property was OK. They were working on the waterfall it looked like. Breakfast was about a 7/10. Decent selection tasted as expected. Room was nice. Was odd to not have a refrigerator. We also had to go back outside after checking in to hang a tag in our car. Not what we wanted after driving in and carrying everything. Got to the room and then went back out to do that. Otherwise decent property with good location.

Looks like it’s from the 70s with nothing but basic maintenance since. There’s a huge water feature in the conference hall that is just one step above being held together with duct tape and baling wire.

Desk staff was efficient but personality of rocks.

The corporate side of the company has setup their Expedia rooms to be all the same, but charging for different tiers of rooms as though you will get what is listed, and pay for. IE:
Double queen standard
King with sofa
Junior Suite
Executive Suite
Etc.

I got an executive suite because it was assumed to have a microwave and frig, because the junior suite shows pictures of an actual suite with those amenities. One may assume if a junior does, a certainly executive does. Same price so why not go executive, right? Because as you notice all pictures, aside from the one junior suite picture, are all the same for all the room listings if there is a king bed included.

Walk into the room and realize it is an identical layout to a standard king (which is half the price), but for an executive suite price. Walk downstairs and ask the receptionist, she says she’s aware they list things incorrectly. Just because it says “executive suite” doesn’t mean anything, it’s just marketing. It is actually a standard king… for double the price. They don’t list the actual executive suites on Expedia. If it says “King bed with sofabed” they are all the same room. And since it’s through Expedia, they have no obligation to help or change anything. Would gladly have went to the same room for half the price.

To anyone like me who see’s this place, see’s the bad reviews, but also see’s how much cheaper it is than even a Choice hotel… take more time and ask more questions than I did to consider why.

Sad to see a once great property fall this far. When we checked in, they gave us a smaller room then I had reserved/paid for. Did not say anything about it, but gave us a $30 per night cheaper room, without reducing my bill by $30 per night. When I said something about it to the front desk clerk, she said they could not refund me the difference, so she would move me to the correct room type. The room we were moved to was the right room type, but showed clear signs of forced entry on the door, and the dead bolt would not lock. When I called thevfront desk again, they came up to look, and the guy mentioned something about \"oh yeah, the police had to force their way in. I forgot about that.\". So they moved us to a 3rd room. This room had issues with it's A/C and hot water. After running for hours at full blast, the room never got cooler than 75 degrees, and the water, after running straight hot for 15 minutes, never got any warmer than maybe 85 degrees. Rather than risk a 4th room, we just stayed put, and spent most of our time away from the hotel. Once upon a time (some years ago), this was the top hotel in Jefferson City. Quite a shame to see it fall to this. Won't be staying here again, no matter how much they offer me a \"reduced rate\".

1 Star – Very Disappointing Experience

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The property is severely understaffed, and it's obvious the employees are being asked to do far too much. One young woman appeared to be running the entire front desk by herself—checking guests in, answering questions, handling complaints, and taking care of numerous other responsibilities. She was doing her best, but no one should be expected to manage all of that alone. The lack of staffing reflects poor management, not the employees.

The photos online are extremely misleading. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. As soon as you walk inside, you're hit with a strange, unpleasant smell. The building is outdated, worn down, and clearly hasn't been properly maintained.

The amenities advertised are also disappointing. Standard rooms don't have refrigerators or microwaves, and even some of the suites have appliances that don't work. Guests are expected to store food in the hotel's kitchen and use a shared microwave that was dirty and unsanitary. That is unacceptable, especially for families or guests staying more than one night.

The biggest issue, however, was the bed bugs. We encountered them during our stay, and another family told us they had the same problem. We also witnessed another family leaving the hotel earlier that day. That alone should be enough reason to avoid staying here.

Overall, this hotel needs major renovations, better housekeeping, proper pest control.

I had a question about my receipt (price charged to my credit card was not the amount given on the receipt) and asked the front desk about it on Saturday. The lady working badmouthed the employees that worked before her. She was very unprofessional with how she addressed the situation and never did solve the issue. Her attitude will be why we never stay at this hotel again.

Also, be aware that the hotel charges an extra non-refundable $10 for parking. This wasn’t disclosed until our room was booked.

The staff were all very friendly and efficient from the front staff to the restaurant/bar lady. Apparently some issue with housekeeping as 2 couples asked for fresh linen for the second day. I got new towels but the other room did not. Housekeeping did not take my old linen on the floor either. If I'm staying 2 nights at a motel, I like my room straighted up and bed made. I did not see a posting about this at the desk, that I needed to ask or it wasn't done.
A/C was fine. Nice variety at breakfast but the sausage was not too tastey and the gravey very thin. I did like the granula and toppings including nuts and candied pecans. Convenient location with lots of parking for $10 a night.

Our first room had not been cleaned from the previous occupants and we were checking in at 9pm, so it wasn't a timing issue.
The room we slept in was warm all night despite the air conditioner going constantly.
The breakfast was low quality like at a best western.

My room was 220 on 5/29. The room was dirty, carpet look like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, I picked up at least 4-5 random coffee stirring sticks on the floor and there was what seemed to be an unmarked bottle of lemonade on the bottom shelf of one of the night stands, hand towels in the night stand drawer, no remote to the TV and all surfaces were so dusty, I had to clean them just to put my suitcase on top.
Breakfast was good.
Front check in was fast and friendly.

I did not sleep well, due to feeling like everything was so dirty.

When we opened the door to our room, it was immediately obvious that someone else was already staying there. When we returned to the front desk and told them of the problem (and that we had reserved a king sized bed) we were told that there were no kings available and that getting a room through a third party was no guarantee that we would get what we had paid for.

We were assigned a handicap accessible room, which had an awkward bathroom set up and a shower head that was shorter than me, and I’m 5’ 7”. The hair dryer had a button that had to be held down to keep the dryer operating. I stopped drying my hair before it was completely dry because my hand got so tired.

There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room, which would have been nice with some leftovers we had. (Not something that I checked for on the website. Those two things tend to be pretty standard in typical hotel rooms.). The guide on the television didn’t match what the channels actually were.

We showed up for breakfast at 6:00 which is the time the front desk clerk had told us breakfast started. Turns out on the weekends it doesn’t start until 6:30. We ended up going ahead and checking out because we wanted an early start to getting our daughter moved.

The breakfast was not great, gravy like water and the eggs were downright gross, but the sausage and waffles were okay.
Your staff, however, was incredible, I don't know where you got them but you'd be smart to keep them because they were literally the very best thing about your property. Your front desk staff was so friendly and polite, which you really don't see as much any,more, they truly cared about their guests and it shows. We had a blast talking to them, they gave clear directions to everything and were so accomodating.

We booked a King room but did not get that. Only Queens were available. My daughter's room was also supposed to be a King and she had 2 Fulls instead.
Toilet was loose, drain on both the bathtub and sink didn't drain properly. Bathtub drain was broke off too.
Remote for the tv was not the right one and didn't work.
No mini fridge in any rooms.
Pool was out of order for maintenance.
The only chair in the room was a cheap office chair without arms.
Breakfast was ok but I would never pay $15 for it if I wasn't staying there.
However, AC worked fantastic.

Our stay at this hotel was unfortunately disappointing from start to finish. We arrived approximately 2 to 3 hours after the listed earliest check in time, yet our reserved room was still unavailable. Instead of honoring the room we booked, we were placed into a lesser room while still being charged the same rate. No discount, refund, or accommodation was offered for the inconvenience, which was frustrating considering we had planned our arrival around the hotel’s stated check in time.

Once we were in the room, another major issue became apparent: there was no reliable hot or even warm water during our stay. After long days out, not being able to take a proper shower was extremely inconvenient and made the stay far less comfortable than expected.

We also specifically requested that housekeeping not service our room and placed a Do Not Disturb sign on the door before leaving. When we returned, the Do Not Disturb sign was still hanging on the door, but housekeeping had entered and cleaned the room anyway, completely disregarding both our verbal request and the clearly displayed sign. This felt like a serious violation of privacy and made us uncomfortable for the remainder of our stay.

Overall, the experience lacked the basic level of service, communication, and respect for guest requests that we expect when staying at a hotel. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Swimming pool was down for repairs during the first part of our say due to kids tearing a pool light out. The complimentary breakfast was okay although the milk was sour. They replaced the milk with new cartons.

Although we had prepaid online, when we arrived they charged us $50 for “incidentals,” which upon questioning the reason, became apparent it was a security fee for damage. That was odd. Also, there was no mention of a parking fee, but they charged us $10 a night, yet the parking didn’t have security and basically was street parking. Although it seemed clean, the beds were not crisp. They looked as if someone put them together rapidly. The entire hotel looked run down and any attempt at repairs were DIY. The breakfast was like every cheap breakfast you see in economy hotels. They did return the deposit when we were leaving. It just seemed that this motel is past its heyday. I didn’t feel it was worth the cost. We were there for the National Homeschool Track & Field Competition. We do not plan to stay here next year.

The front desk also would not allow housekeeping to bring supplies to my room so I had to change clothes and come to the front desk. The room shows it's age in many small ways. There was no hot water for a shower, the heat had a smell to it that made my son nauseous, and the room lacked basic hotel ammenities, such as a mini fridge and microwave. My son and I both became ill after eating in the restaurant and had to return home before doing anything we had gone there to do, and we had to cancel our next destination as well. The food tasted good, and was not overly cooked. However, it had a lot of strong seasoning that made me wonder if it may have been MSG or another type of food borne illness. My son and I ate different things, but the seasoning may When I mentioned to the front desk that my son and I both became ill after eating in the hotel restaurant, the employee did not seem at all empathetic. It was very disappointing to have to end our trip early before enjoying the reasons we were there to begin with.

I enjoyed all of the aspecta of the hotel. The only issue was with the breakfast buffet. It was supposed to be opened until 9. When I arrived at 8:40, the attendant was already clearing away the breakfast. Someone else there had to ask for coffee cups and coffee. It had already been cleared out. The hotel is getting old but the rooms have been updated and are clean and comfortable. Only 1 elevator was working . No hot water, only luke warm, in the afternoon. Good location for the Katy Trail.

This place is in terrible condition. It’s very outdated, and it shows in every area of the property. The gym is poorly maintained, the pool is in rough shape, and the rooms are just as bad—worn down, unclean, and clearly not being kept up properly. There honestly isn’t a single standout positive about the stay.

They try to highlight a “fancy” waterfall feature, but even that is only partially functioning. To make matters worse, there’s exposed PVC piping running up the wall to create a three-level effect, and it looks extremely cheap and poorly done. It completely takes away from what they’re trying to present.

On top of that, basic functionality is a problem. The front doors were broken on the first night, and by the second day they were down to just one working elevator, which made getting around the building frustrating and slow.

This property has clearly gone downhill. It may have been a great place at one time, but that is no longer the case. In its current state, it’s easily one of the worst places to stay in the area. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, functional, or enjoyable hotel experience.

Ate dinner in their bar/grill. Ordered a Rueben sandwich for my husband, and a burger for myself. Burger came, Rueben never arrived, something else did. Waitress blamed the cook, but she tried.
The hot water in the shower is merely lukewarm. The eggs were cold, hash browns not refilled, juice not refilled.
