The resort is well maintained and the staff are friendly and attentive! Our family had a great time in the pool area and loved the evening s'mores! The food was a little pricey, but tasted great with large portions. We had issues with the room TV not working and the shower leaking onto the bathroom floor. A manager offered to move our room and refunded some meals for our inconvenience.

The room was great and the overall experience was fantastic. The food was expensive but you got a huge portion so I didn’t mind the prices! I would not recommend off season. The birdies bar was not stocked with anything another than beer and liquor, no Bloody Marys, nor mimosas. Same with other bars we found.

This was a child friendly property which was perfect for meeting up with our son and granddaughter. They loved the lazy river and pool. My husband and I loved the Spa. I received the best relaxation massage and mani-pedi. Other Spa amenities were excellent. Food at each of the hotel restaurants we tried was top notch. We hope to visit again soon!

Food options were limited and very overpriced, with not many options. Buffet very small and prime rib was good, but paper thin, and the carver at the buffet was limiting people on it. Pool was kinda dirty and mirky, very mirky like it was filled with suntan oil. Tubes were pretty oily too.

We went just before July 4. Lots of families with kids. Room was very nice. Enough to explore. Lazy river was great even though it closed on occasion with the weather (lightning). Food was great - just a little pricey. There are activities like kayaking and fishing but they will cost more to do. The game room was the only underwhelming piece with outdated games that required purchasing a game card so it was a skip. Got to see a few deer, woodpeckers and there is an area to pet goats and llamas. Def was worth the trip. The staff was super helpful and friendly. It was a lot larger resort than the pics make it out to be!

The Lost Pines is a fantastic resort on a beautiful property that has a wide range of fun things to do. The pool and lazy river are the centerpiece of outdoor activities and even though it rained during much of our stay and limited our pool time, we found plenty of other fun things to do. The staff were friendly and helpful and we especially loved the dining options. I would like to return when we’re not constrained by the weather and able to partake in more of the outdoor amenities but we definitely enjoyed our first stay at the Lost Pines.

The doors are heavy and the springs that close them make them dangerous for kids- our 5 year old got his finger crushed. The whole place is really run down- rotten wood, rusting metal, missing pool tiles, weeds in shrub beds, bare dirt where grass has died…..

Heads up they charge for parking on top of resort fee and the walls are very thin, we heard babies crying and kids jumping in the middle of the night. For the price of the stay I shouldn’t hear anything. Balconies have no privacy. They need more lights around the property at night. Can easily lose your kid it’s so dark. Christmas lights or something ! Otherwise we enjoyed the food and pools and had a good time. But doubt will be back . Value wasn’t there for us.

Nice weekend get away. This is our fourth time at the Property. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Parking and valet worked very hard and ran things extremely smooth. The only disappointment was there were a lot of people there day passes. So many extra people there that That we're just there on day passes. Which made the people that were staying there overnight, not have any room for chairs and the lazy river was packed.
I wish they would be a little bit more stricter with day passes.

Beautiful grounds. Great activities for the kids. The food was disappointing. Lack of AC in barn area where we paid $75 for a BBQ buffet hosted by the Hyatt. Also, very limited options for the buffet. Definitely not worth $75. Food in other restaurants were also so-so. There were kids in the lazy river who were throwing rocks at each other and in the pool. There was NO one to monitor or correct these kids. Either staff or parents. Very frustrating for a mom of two toddlers.

This is the place to go to just get away in nature and relax. Everything one needs is there and the staff is top notch. They do need to offer better dining options. This part is crazy making. The resort is family oriented, kids are happy and have lots to do, the fire pits are so beautiful, the golf course is excellent, the spa is wonderful. BUT DINING? Come on… We love it there - open up your nightly Buffett, again.

Getting ahold of the front desk is nearly impossible. When you call the main number it goes straight to reservations who tells you to call the main number and push zero. When you do this it still goes to reservations. This happened multiple times at different times of the day.

The toilet paper in this hotel is about as cheap as you can get. For a hotel of this caliber, I would expect more.

It took a bit to figure out how to turn the lights off that come on under the bed.

Valet service was excellent, just pricey.

We have been to this property several times both in summer and fall. Love the outdoors. The pool is heated. Grounds are well maintained, beds very comfortable. The dining options are good. Gym is big. Definitely a great option for a quick getaway close to big cities in Texas.

Arrived at the hotel only to receive a piece of paper informing us that due to a broken pipe - ALL the pools are closed, there are hot water issues in rooms (no hot showers or baths) and restaurants aren't operating normally due to the water issues. We were offered a $20 voucher to the coffee shop to make up for these issues. Are you kidding? We immediately booked a different hotel. These issues should have been communicated to us PRIOR to arriving at the hotel. Will not return.

We did not have any hot water to take showers for both nights. A water pipe Brust on the pool, so we did not have any pool service and the fire pit by our room did not have any propane gas so we couldn’t light it.
It was not a good stay! Did not enjoy, especially at that price!

Girls weekend! The property is beautiful but the prices are not. $20 mojitos and mixed drinks. Self parking $18. I would recommend free parking for guests and charging for the day visitors that come for golfing, or the other amenities.
Lost Pines needs to look into a getting a traffic control device at then entrance to the resort. We were unable to get across the freeway to go into Bastrop for dinner. We had to turn R out of the Resort, move over 2 lanes and then make a U turn at the next light. This was not well planned by the Resort.
The Resort is child friendly with several play areas and pool facilities. They do have an Adult only pool which is nice. I recommend having Adult only weekends so I don't spill my $20 mojito on the kid dashing through the lobby on their scooter.
Check out was difficult as there was only 1 employee working at 945 am and there was a line of guests waiting.
Hyatt, get some help and install a traffic control device at the entrance.

Great place for a family vacation. Evokes Dirty Dancing lodge vibes. Wish the pool required wristbands or room keys, as there were a lot of people there who were not staying on property but crowding up the pool and lazy river. Great activities for the keys. The pool water was kinda murky and full of leaves. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times and service at food places was slow, but we weren’t in a hurry. Rooms are super comfy and fire pit with snores and outdoor movies were great. Bikes available to ride around. Will definitely be back.

Old building so the AC took awhile to cool the room down enough to fall asleep.
Not enough reasonably priced food choices/selections for families- the pool bar/grill closes at 7pm. Leaving your only option that’s affordable being a pizza To Go located in their gift shop- which only sells medium size pizzas at $15 each, it adds up quickly.
Their activities are extremely over priced. We wanted to do 2 activities but ended up booking them on our own & saving $.

Watch out, if you booked with a third party

Watch out! It’s not uncommon if you booked with a third party, the hotel will give you a less desirable room. We’ve been next to noisy elevators, or our view is the roof and A!C units. I’ve learned to check the room before unpacking. This was a new one, We were in a first level room opening to the lawn because we had our dog. Ours was the only unit of about 20 that had no grass. Every time we walked out or took the dog out we walked through mud. There were other vacant rooms but we had already unpacked.

This hotel is kind of pricey, but don’t let that scare you away. Everything is so well run, with plenty of caring, professional staff. Restaurants and bars are great. There are plenty of extra activities included in the price, so you will be entertained as much or as little as you desire. Bastrop, a short 10 mile drive, has lots of great little restaurants/bars on Main Street if you want to venture out. This is a great stay if you would rather avoid the Austin traffic and hype.

We arrived on Monday, for a full week stay. We had 3 rooms, with family from ages 5-75. Every room's refrigerator would freeze up. Our room had a leak from the shower through the floor on the other side of our wall which soaked an entire duffle bag of clothes. It was nearly impossible to get seated with 10 people, ended with reservations. The daily \"events\" for kids were lackluster at best, and most not even set up on time or cancelled. If you reserve a cabana know that they don't even have staff at the pool until 10am, so don't book the 9am cabana block. Overall the staff were young, rude and not well trained at hospitality considering the amount of money their customers are spending to be there. We won't return. Will take my 3 rooms and 10 guests elsewhere.
