Jungle oasis! Very quiet, just the jungle sounds, and running river. We loved breakfast watching the hummingbirds, and the pool. Lovely plants and flowers. Great stop on the way to Arenal!

I only stayed here for a night as I was passing through, but would definitely spend more time here. It is so peaceful and quiet. There are only a few rooms and tables to eat breakfast at which I personally really enjoyed. It felt more private and I got the pool and river all to myself. The owner was very helpful and called a taxi for me as I couldn't book my own transportation. Breakfast was made for you, and he even asked if I had any allergies before I came to the resort. 10/10, beautiful property and kind staff!

Quiet spot on a beautiful river. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and breakfast was great. Our bed was comfortable, the hot shower worked well. We didn't have to use the air conditioner so it was nice to sleep with the windows open to listen to the river, birds and monkeys. It was a very pleasant place to stay.

True paradise

This is a small hotel with gorgeous grounds, a beautiful pool surrounded on three sides by a jungle stream. We saw three types of hummingbirds, many other Costa Rican birds including the montezuma oropendiola. The host is friendly and wonderful and the breakfast was excellent. This was the most enjoyable accommodation we had in Costa Rica. It is not a luxury resort but bedding was comfortable, it felt safe and isolated, and the setting is Pristine and beautiful.

Beautiful hidden gem!

Agua Inn is a hidden oasis and it’s just a beautiful setting. The owner Trent is very friendly, the wild parrot Peppa is adorable and the creek on the property is soothing. Great pool, great breakfast. There is no a/c but it wasn’t a problem at all because it was cooler in this area and shaded by forest. We would book there again.

Wonderful place to stay in Arenal. You do need a car but for that you have a beautiful location and a wonderful stay. There is no noise apart from the birds and breakfast on a balcony overlooking the lovely gardens.

This is a unique property: just 4 rooms situated on the edge of a babbling river. The sound of the water rushing past the rocks is very soothing. Aqua inn was a 1/2 way point for me while traveling between La Fortuna and Samara. It allowed me to have a 1/2 day at each location without spending too much time in the car either day.

I loved how far back off the road Agua Inn was. It was so quiet (minus all the loud bugs, which comes with the territory) and peaceful and relaxing. We were the only people staying that night so we had the entire place to ourselves. The breakfast was fantastic as well. I loved hearing the creek all night long and we got a nice little rain shower as well. This was the perfect place for us between our two busy spots during our trip. Loved it and would stay here again.

Seriously Magical!

Trent and his crew are amazing. The building is cozy and quaint. The room is comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. There is nothing like the sounds of Costa Rica and the Agua Inn is the best place to hear them. The breakfast in the morning is handmade by the house chef and everyone was friendly and personable.

You must be able to climb steps to get to your room and having a car to get to the Agua Inn is very helpful, particularly if you don't know how to get around Costa Rica otherwise.

Agua Inn is a wonderful facility. The location is far enough away from Nuevo Arnenal to feel private yet close enough to drive into town to dine at restaurants or visit the town. The inn is also far enough away from the main road so you do not hear the traffic. The room was charming and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly yet respected your privacy. The inn has a gorgeous view the the river and the grounds are well maintained. We were there for 2 nights and the breakfast each morning was different. Great breakfast and coffee is available as soon as you enter the kitchen. If ever we return we would definitely stay at the Agua Inn.

Great host, beautiful grounds, comfortable public space. Room is on the tight side so we stayed in the balcony and the living room most of the time, which was a most enjoyable experience. The pizza Trent recommended was absolutely mouth watering.... Drive way is quite steep and a thrilling experience for a first timer. Trent is an amazing host, helpful and informative!! Thank you for the encouragement. We made it to Monteverde, yeah! Tough drive but absolutely worth it!!

Very friendly and helpful owners

Beautiful decor in the rooms, incredibly comfortable bed. The balcony where you have breakfast has a great view into the tree tops, you could sit there all day watching the wildlife. The pool at the bottom of the hill / trees is unlike any other we'd seen before, integrated into the natural landscape, such a lovely setting for relaxing and listening to the birds tweeting. The breakfasts were different every morning and delicious! There are some great places to eat in Nuevo Arenal which is only a 5 minute drive away. This was the final three nights of our holiday and we loved it!

Wonderful setting on the way to Arenal

We did not stay very long, arrived after dark and left in the morning, but we really enjoyed our stay at Agua Inn. The room was nice, comfortable and clean, the host was very welcoming and indicated a fun restaurant. The setting is beautiful, in the jungle next to a small river. No lake views but conveniently located less than an hour from the volcano. Nice breakfast on the balcony overlooking the river. We did not try the pool but did walk down to the river.

Wonderful stay at Agua Inn.

Agua Inn is an excellent small bed and breakfast in an amazing setting next to a creek 2 km from Nuevo Arenal. The owner and his staff went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. The delicious breakfast was cooked to order. The Lake Arenal area is scenic and accessible by paved roads through La Fortuna and the Arenal volcano. The owner recommended an interesting and delicious Italian restaurant in town.

A jewel in the jungle

What can I say.... It was amazing. From the location, to the food, room, facility and service. Everything was impeccable. Having breakfast with the view over the jungle. Hearing bird calls and monkeys as a morning alarm. Random birdwatching while you relax. This place is great if you look for a secluded and peaceful stay. I will take any long drive to get there instead of staying in a busy place like la fortuna. Absolutely worth the trip.

This is the place to go

From the first minute when your host meets the car even though it is at night to the last minute when you leave you know you are in the right place. The music of the water, the birds in the trees and the service that responds to your every need puts you on the right path to enjoy Lake Arenal and Costa Rica.

Clean, comfortable and friendly with beautiful grounds through a winding driveway. Did we like it. 10 on a 10 scale.

We went to find a home to rent and consider a move to Costa Rica. We thought we knew it all after extensive research but if it were not for Trent, we would have ended up in the wrong place and eventually regretted the path we were on.

Patricia and I have been back for 48 hours and this is Saturday. It is also packing day. We are moving.

Fairly easy to find, stunning property secluded from Nuevo Arenal. You will need your own transportation or enjoy a 1km walk from the property to town. Trent, the owner was engaging and knowledgeable. Kitchen was open. Breakfast was portioned well and good.

What an amazing place! I can't say enough about this wonderful hideaway.
We arrived at dark to a warm welcome and and a clean comfortable room.
But we never could have imagined what we saw in the morning light the property is amazing on a beautiful river that runs into Lake Arenal, Landscape amazing, and a lovely breakfast.
We only wished we stayed much longer next time we will.

El lugar es precioso, rodeado de mucha vegetación y un río. Hay que tener cuidado con Waze o google maps porque no son precisos, por lo que recomendamos al hotel poner más letreros en las dos intersecciones previas para llegar al hotel. Ojalá la piscina fuera temperada.
