The hotel is in great condition and all the staff was wonderful and very kind. I got excellent service from the housekeeping staff and the desk clerk Attasit helped me get utinsels when my grab food order came without them. I will be back!

Stayed for 4 nights as a couple was very comfortable. 2 pools. The only negative is they could provide 2 pillows per person and there is only enough tea and coffee provided for 1 cup. Apart from that close to the beach.

I’ve stayed at the Agate before and knew it had the levels of comfort and service i was looking for, also in a nice location a short walk from the beach. On this occasion there were a few maintenance issues that slightly spoiled things - Day 2 there was a power cut affecting my floor only for 4 hours. Day 3 the single lift was out of order half the day. However I’d still stay again if in the same area.

A really good value hotel in Jomtien. Centrally located and just a baht bus from downtown Pattaya. The hotel rooms are adequate - clean and spacious. The breakfast is a bit basic, but the staff are generally friendly apart from the breakfast staff who seemed a bit indifferent each day - could do better. Check out soi 5 and 7 if you don’t want to head into Pattaya. Other than that a good value hotel overall.

The servers at breakfast were not interested in helping us. The reception staff were nice but ineffective. We had strange damp musty smell in room but no attention was paid to it, the fridge broke down and was never repaired. We asked for bananas at breakfast and the big ladyboy just said we no have so stop asking. The servers stood all morning watching thai television and the tables were filthy all dirty marks. The lift was broken for a full day we were there but no one came or called the room to say , you would expect to be told on higher floors in case you had some mobility or health problems.. the only bonus was the reception staff and one bellboy who was so helpful. The breakfast servers did not tell us we could order omelette or special eggs etc we found out on day we left. The service in food is atrocious, they virtually throw you out and switch ban Marie’s off at 10.30am despite them having stood around doing nothing for the full serving time. The hotel rooms are getting dated and smelly with stuff breaking with no proper engineering to help repair .

The property is a pleasant boutique hotel. What I did not like is that it was almost impossible to get directions from anyone. I wanted to go to a particular place which was accessible by bus but everyone said....take a taxi. Another point I did not like is that there was no international English language news channel of any sort.

Over 3 trips, I have now stayed about 60 nights in this hotel. July is quiet season here so most days I had the smaller pool to myself. Wifi very good. Don't bother with the TV unless you can understand Thai. Room very clean. Despite keeping the balcony door closed most of the time, one cockroach managed to fly in. Found and killed in the bathroom..

Ate in same 2 restaurants. Pirate Bay on Dongtan beach for an american breakfast, about £3 and Dick's cafe for lunch / dinner. There is a nightly cabaret show at The Venue across.the road There are plenty of girl / boy bars around. I went to the Sun Bar. The owner is Sun. So you have to expect to see visitors with Asian men / women, but you can just politely say no.

Generally I find prices in Thailand about the same as in the UK. But they seem to have freedom of movement, so lots of people working here are from Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The skilled Thais work in Singapore etc. So something involving labour is cheap. 6 shirts laundered for £2. A haircut the same.

Stayed 3 nights on 12 day road trip. Hotel is in a quiet location on border of Jomtien and Pattaya, near some very good restaurants and beach. Beautiful , new interior. Two lovely pools. Good breakfast. Very comfortable beds. My only constructive criticism would be: (1) train your receptionists to be more personable and helpful; (2) get rid of moddy at bar. He is not professional and who wants to hear him plar Rap music at breakfzst?

Punches way above its Rate!

This is a very well run hotel with very well trained staff. Spotlessly clean and real effort has gone into creating a mini oasis in a fairly busy area of Jomtien. I loved the pool settings and wish I had had more time to enjoy them... I mean how often is there a waterfall you can walk behind through a secret passage!!?. When the Bellboy came half-way up the street to help me with my bag after spotting me walking down towards the hotel from at least 30 metres away; to all 3 staff at the Front Desk standing up to greet me, I realised I had entered a hotel beyond the norm. My room was spotlessly clean. My bed was comfortable. My bathroom was comparatively large and nicely fitted out with a rain shower and seating ledge and I was only in a basic room. I have stayed in some other hotels in this particular area and they have been fine but now I know that I won't be going back to them anymore...Agate is Great!

Room & amenities 5 star. Staff are pleasant & helpful. There is a slight lack of attention to detail. e.g.had to ask for water drinking water. Desk staff could not handle my request to extend my stay. Night receptionist dealt with it in seconds. Room was not serviced on extra day. Minor points which could be avoided with better staff training.

Large clean rooms. TV rarely worked, a godsend as next door would come in at 2AM and turn theirs on No UK channels anyway.. Wifi excellent. Had cockroach issues on Floor 2. Request 3 or 4. Guests mainly Russian. Few children - bliss. Escort bars and massage parlours across street. If seeing them will offend you, basically don't go to Thailand. Felt totally safe, at least 2 manned police units on the beach. Ate at Pirates Bay - american breakfast on the beach for £3 and Dick's cafe for Thai food < £5. Excellent real Thai massages at BDMI - masseurs men and women are visually impaired. But for the agony I could fall asleep. 90 minutes for £7. Overall highlight - the people. Their friendliness. Mind you they would sell you their grandmother. Going back in July

Located in the middle of entertainment area of Jomtien complex. This luxury property is well appointed with all the modern conveniences. Gorgeous pool and grotto, with waterfall. Decorations are on par with upscale hotels at much higher price. They also have custom made tuk-tuk to shuttle hotel guests to nearby attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff, although we had several issues with the key that wasn't resolved. It was one of those experiences where everything was almost perfect, except for...room towels, pillows, and key cards that doesn't work. Property is very clean, cute staff (especially bartenders).

The hotel is over 2 years old and set in Jontien gay area. Surrounded by bars.
The hot has two pools one salt and the other chlorinated. Breakfast... Is very nice and the chef will cool your eggs to your liking. The hotel has displays of fine crystals for sale
It's has a wonderful spa and is well worth a relaxing massage or spa. The hotel is great for single to family stay. I would have liked to stay longer.

Great boutique hotel, rooms, location all perfect.

Felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Nice underground parking with CCTV and 24 hour security. Lovely reception and speedy check-in. Great room, especially the 2 king size beds, very soft and relaxing. The beanbag was a great hit with my 10 year old daughter.
Went to the Pier on one day and one of the staff drove us in his own car. We gave him a tip as this was above and beyond his call of duty.
Used the free tuk-tuk a few times for a lift to the beach. Very convenient and free. Tip is optional, but very welcomed and appreciated.
Definitely will be staying here again. Quietist hotel I've stayed in in Pattaya/Jomtien.
Would give 5 stars had it not been for the 2 cockroaches in the bedroom. 1 dead, 1 very much alive.

Their in house spa was amazing, will worth trying. The catering staff where very accommodating to our requests at breakfast. Surprisingly excellent customer service from the reception to the cleaning staff. Only downside, the fitness gym was outside, small and the equipment was inadequate.

It was great, with 100 million year old sea shells and fossils and 2 pools and a tuk tuk to the beach road. But when I tried to sleep one afternoon when I was ill I put the 'do not disturb' card outside the room. Then the doorman (??!) hammered on the door and asked if I wanted housekeeping to do the room. So I did not sleep, was more sick, and had to go to the hospital and spend more money. Please, hotels, tell your staff we may arrive in Asia after a 24 journey. Travelling is tiring.

Overall it was a good expereance. But if you found the first morning a giant cockroach in your bathroom it is not a good beginning. The hotel i only 8 minutes walk from the beach. Verry good reachable by the songtauws and taxi's. Luckely the breakfast was free because it was not that much. Every day the same. No variation. And if i complain about the fridge that makes suddenly a loud strange noise please repair or replace it. I didnt sleep for the last 4 nights! I had the first 2 days a friend over, in the papers of expedia stood i get breakfast for 2 but i have to pay almost 300 bath for it because it was a 1 persons room ??? Finally.... if you notice, the only 1 good thing of this hotel i put in my titel of my review.

Good value for the area.

This was a decent hotel for the price paid. The staff were nice with great smiles, very helpful during the stay. This being my first time in the Jomtien side. The price for breakfast seemed a bit over priced for the offerings. Wifi was a little spotty during the day, but the bed and shower were good enough. I think if you paid full price for the stay you would be more critical, but I didn't so I won't.

The Agate Pattaya was awesome. The rates were reasonable, the hotel was clean, and the staff were very friendly. My only complaint is that their \"fitness center\" was an outside nook with two cardio machines and a few dumb bells. Other than that, I highly recommend this place.

It is an amazing hotel!! Friendly staff offering good service. All was fantastic and I would give 5 stars but breakfast needs to be better. Offering fresh made waffels and pancakes as they make omelets would be nice and good coffee, latte, cappuccino etc. It is just small adjustments and it wold be perfect

Enquired with the front desk about taxi fair to Sriracha Tiger Zoo n the front desk quoted the tariff which was unreasonable!!! 3000 THB for round trip n 1700 THB one way.!!!

The bathroom is bad. There is just a curtain to separate the bath n toilet...Phew...So outdated...And messy...

Please use grab taxi or the baht taxi..It's.more convenient n wallet friendly.

Private hotel although its close to town

I enjoyed the privacy of this resort complex, it was very quite and idyllic for rest and a stress-free holiday.
There are two pools and a bar by one of the pools to enjoy a nice, tropical drink or a few beers. The hotel
staff is excellent and very friendly and always available for any need that you might have. The room was very
comfortable with my only complaint being there was not enough storage space for my clothes. I spent two weeks
at The Agate and would like to have had some drawers to put away my clothes and things. The hanging closet was
much too small and facing the wrong way, which made it harder to hang up and remove my clothes. Also, the fridge
was a bit small with no freezer area, keeping me from having a supply of my favorite ice creams. And, what's with the beanbag? It was totally useless except for throwing things on top of it. But, all in all, I would stay there again.
There is a shortcut over to Thappraya Road, which makes it real easy to access the stores and tuk-tuk trucks.

Very nice hotel, 2 swimming pools both a good size. Big rooms and kept very clean. Lots of options for breakfast. Will use again if coming to Jomtien, would recommend the hotel.

Beautiful hotel in great location.

Lovely hotel. New and modern. Very friendly and helpful staff all round :) .. Great breakfast and decent wifi. We stayed for 4 nights and would happily stay there for longer.

Location was very good, close to the beach, lots of shops and restaurants. All within a 5 minute walk. Also lots of tour agents near by.

What a great little oasis of a hotel. Walking distance from the beach. The breakfast was superb. The king size beds were huge and this allowed the whole family to comfortably stay in one room.Would stay again.
