Pretty views

The hotel is very cute, there’s a good amount of parking spaces and the lake views are stunning from some rooms. The building itself is a little tired and could use a nice refresh.
The reception as a space is a little confusing as is marked with a different hotel name (?) so I thought I was in the wrong place at first.
But the staff was very professional yet friendly and helpful with tips and advice.
Maybe the most uncomfortable feature of the room was the shower with no glass/door so there was no way of NOT flooding the floor even with a quick shower.
Location is very convenient for lake access and the area is just pretty all around.
I would go back if I found a good deal and could book a lake view room again.

The property is in a nice location. Some spider webs and were found in the room and the bathroom had a spider. The AC never worked and the floor could've used a sweep (there was a nail clipping by the terrace window). Overall facilities are a bit outdated. The breakfast was nice

Hotel claims to be a 4 star yet it is more of a 1.5 star if that . Pool was dirty , staff have no idea what they are doing and claim the hotel is “changing” to a different one . Rooms are outdated and AC does not work . No restaurants around the area that are worth going to .

No 4 star hotel

I love hotels with their own characteristics. Unfortunately, this hotel has too many. The rooms are ok and their cleaning is very good, but that’s about it. No restaurant srrvice available.
The hotel is extremely understaffed and breakfast is a joke! After waiting for 20 minutes for my coffee I simply gave up. Everything seems outworn and neglected.
Two solutions for this place: renovate and extend your staff or simply quit the business. Is a potential gem.

A lovely hotel

A lovely hotel in a lovely area close to the Lake Lugano. Room was big enough, with excellent bed, tv, fridge and wifi. Bathroom large with good shower. Breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere of the hotel lovely. Recommended despite being a bit tired but very clean.

We really enjoyed the stay there. We spent an amazing time there. We have found our room very cozy , calm, location is beautiful nearby the clean and comfortable beach of Lugano lake . We’ve got a room on a first floor with a beautiful large terrasse . So, we are grateful to the owners of this hotel for this romantic time . Parking is convenient exactly in the territory of the hotel . SPA center is also nice 👍

The hotel cleanliness was over my expectations, compering to my previous experience in Italy, it was much more positive. The host was very nice and helpful, they made fresh italian coffee for breakfast, not the usual filter coffee. Our room had a nice mountain view. I highly recommend this hotel.

Grat value, nice staff

The owner and staff take great pride in their level of attention and service. The area is great, however, it is off the beaten path, so this needs to be taken into consideration. In coming from Como, we did not even know we had crossed in to Switzerland, until we had to go through customs, not a big deal.
I have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone. If you are expecting the Ritz, you will be disappointed. If you want a clean room, excellent breakfast at a good rate, this will be just fine for you.

Staff were just so lovely. So helpful and present. Given top floor rooms so we could see the lake. Great value for money. Good breakfast. Found us directions to a supermarket and bakery that was open on Easter Monday. Lent us a corkscrew so we could open our own bottle of wine.

Hotel with no transportation facility

I had booked this hotel on a visit to Lugano while on a 3 week tour of EU. Hotel is on Italian side of Swiss-Italy border with no taxi or bus connectivity to the hotel from Italy border. I along with my wife and 6 yr old kid were left stranded in the winter at Ponte Tresa station without ttransportation until a local Samaritan offered to drop us at Hotel. Finding the hotel was also a problem as the GPS system on the BMW car was not able to find it. With lots of hassles we reached the hotel around 9PM, a complete 2.5 hrs of lost time for a journey of a few KMs. But I should also add that the Hotel staff was excellent and understood our plight and made our stay comforting even though English was a problem in the Italian side of Lugano. Hotel is ideal only for people with self transportation and international travellers should better avoid.

A Treasure Overlooking Lake Lugano

This was both the least expensive and our favorite hotel of a two week trip. Quaint, clean, with a lovely lobby, lounge, and dining area. Rooms were of a nice size with absolutely no flaw that we could see. Franco and Michaela hosted us with grace and just the right amount of attention. We departed as fast friends. Our room had a window overlooking the Lake and that was from the side of the hotel. The front room views must be even nicer. Drinks, ice, snacks, nice breakfast, all came easily. Wifi was fine. Parking was easy, just outside the lobby side entrance, so very close with no steps. We made Lugano in as little as 15 minutes, and as long as 30 minutes depending on border and "rush hour" traffic along a beautiful two lane country road.

A wonderful experience on the lake

The hotel is not on the water, however view from the lake-facing rooms is astonishing. The courtesy, professionalism and personal touch of the staff make this a true pleasure to stay in this boutique hotel. Very quiet, extremely clean, and with a delicious and local-picked breakfast, this boutique hotel is ideal for a romantic getaway. Definitely the place to stop by when on the italian side of lake Lugano.

A gem of a hotel for a reasonable price.

A gem of a hotel just over the Swiss border. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and simple, the neighborhood great for getting a good night's sleep without noise from cars and foot traffic. Still only a 7 minute liesurely walk down to the lake front with a nice swimming/play area.

The breakfast was much better than expected, cheese, coldcuts, eggs and toast as well as various bread rolls and fruit. Still missing the coffee now :-)

We have been on a 7 day roadtrip across northern Italy and for this reason I don't feel like this was value for money as we got a lot more hotel-wise elsewhere. However, on arriving it felt like we'd stepped into Fawlty Towers with plastic chandeliers, lurid painted red floors, weird decoration but what cemented it for us was when we were taken to our room. The room wasn't ready so the man started shouting at the cleaner in front of us, he then told us to wait 10 minutes and stormed downstairs. We were a bit bewildered at being asked to wait in a corridor and then the cleaner also stormed downstairs. She returned with a key to another room and apologised but they really need to take a look at customer service!!!!
In terms of the location, there is nothing in Brusimpiano and we walked to Lavena Ponte Tresa (in hindsight should have driven as dangerous roads!).
Next morning we went to breakfast and although the coffee was good, nothing else was. Very sparse continental breakfast with no fruit.

I was only there for two nights, but from the time I got there the staff was awesome. I was told about things to do in the area, taken to my room, shown where to find things in the room, and then I was on my way. The rooms were bigger than I expected for being European. Very clean!!! The bed was big. Tv worked well. I even went to the pool for a little just to put my feet in. Breakfast had a little bit of everything, and I was happy with that. I would definitely stay here again because the room and staff were great.

Amazing!

We went on a road trip around Europe and stayed at Caroline hotel for 2 nights on our way to Switzerland (group of 10) . Brusimpiano, the municipality in which it's located in, is absolutely beautiful! The view from my hotel room was stunning, facing lake Lugano and mountains. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The hotel is very affordable and your stay includes breakfast which a plus! The location is great as you can drive to Lugano (20 minutes) or to Como. However, you don't need to leave Brusimpiano because it's a beautiful place. We really enjoyed our stay and I can't wait to go back in the future.

ask for a balcony room

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. While it is off the beaten path, the drive there is very scenic. You can see Lake Lugano from the front balcony, and it is a relatively short drive to Lake Como. The hotel staff were very accommodating. There is a free breakfast and the dinners were both good and affordable. We had a balcony room and were able to watch fireworks over Lake Lugano. The price for this hotel is a definite bargain.

A lot cheaper than Lugano!

We were in Switzerland and decided to go to Lugano. The hotel prices seemed high, so when the Hotel Caroline popped up significantly cheaper our interest was piqued. We had a car so it wasn't an issue driving there and provided a niice motivation to go to the Italian side and drive around Lago Lugano. The hotel works great as a place to crash during the night if you have a car. I wouldn't consider it otherwise. The rooms were good given it's Italy. Our rate included breakfast which was great. The lake is small and crossing between Switzerland and Italy a breeze. We were very happy with our two nigjt stay there

Friendly, helpful staff who speak English. The pool area was nice and relaxing, quiet neighborhood. It is difficult to walk to the lake from this hotel as the streets are very narrow and don't have sidewalks everywhere--the main street was quite busy. Good breakfast! Restaurant on site was ok. Room was clean and comfortable--no AC, though. Be sure to take the short drive over to Lake Maggiore, too!

Quaint Hotel with lovely view of Lake Lugano

The hotel is tucked away within a quiet neighborhood. It is a few easy blocks to walk to the lake. The hotel staff is courteous and responsive.
The hotel could use a little maintenance, it is old and not everything works exactly as it should. Our toilet worked, but only if you fussed with the handle and I wish the shower curtain completely surrounded the tub so I didn't have to be SO careful not to get water on the floor. The pool is quite small and I do not believe it is heated (it wasn't while we were there).
Loved the view. The people were helpful and overall we enjoyed our stay there quite well. The restaurant and bar that are part of the hotel have good food and service for a reasonable price.
We would stay there again.

We were looking for a less expensive hotel near the city of Lugano. For one night this was fine, although breakfast was just ok and the staff acted like we were interrupting them. Bathrooms need work; the faucet coming out of the wall. Traffic back into Lugano made it less attractive as well.

we had difficulty finding the hotel as the signage when arriving from the north, then had a problem with our shower but we were offered and accepted a new room. otherwise everything was very good and we regretted having eaten earlier as the on site pizzeria looked inviting, as did the prices. we had a good buffet breakfast the following morning. the staff were very helpful throughout. a very comfortable stay, we would be happy to recommend to anyone visiting the area.

En genuint äkta Italiensk pärla lite halvgömd i byn Brusimpiano. Så mysigt med en lobby att hänga i. Frukosten var fantastisk! Fräsch och Italian style med caprese, avokado och en massa annat gott. Vi vill gärna återvända hit för att stanna flera nätter och ta vara på den fantastiska miljön längs sjön Lake Lugano. Fantastiskt trevlig personal!

Das einzige was uns nicht gefallen hat die Brot Auswahl kein Vollkorn oder Dinkelbrot dafür zu viel Süssigkeiten dafür war der Cappuccino super frisch an den Tisch serviert
Der Frühstücksaal war auch gross und die Tische hatten genug Abstand und schön ein gerichtet mit gepflegter ruhiger Hintergrund Musik

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich mit Willkommens Drink
Eigentlich sind seit ca.22 Jahren immer wieder als Gast im Caroline.
Mit dem neuen Besitzer hat das Hotel gewaltig Fortschritt gemacht mit dem neuen Restaurant wo es es sehr gute Pizza und a la Carte Gerichte gibt mit diversen Drinks
Alles neu umgebaut hell und freundlich eingerichtet ,dass trifft auch auf die Zimmer zu.
Der neue Frühstücks Raum ist auch sehr gross und es ist somit genügend Abstand zwischen den Tischen.
Das Frühstück ist auch umfangreich mit frischen gutem Cappuccino serviert von dem sehr netten Chef der Restauration.Das einzige was wir uns noch wünschen würden eine Ausweitung der Brot Auswahl mit Vollkorn und Dinkel Brot dafür weniger Kuchen
Das Personal war immer sehr nett und aufmerksam,da gibt es absolut nichts zu meckern .Danke !
Wir kehren auf jeden Fall wieder einmal gerne zurück ins Hotel Caroline !

Abbiamo prenotato nel mese di settembre, la stanza molto comoda, pulita, con tutto il necessario per renderla accogliente, con vista al lago, stupenda. Joli hôtel vu d'extérieur avec une piscine. Un peu vétuste à l'intérieur malgré quelques rénovations.
Parking gratuit !
Gel douche en dose unique (sachets) un peu restreint.
Personnel souriant.
Les petits déjeuners nous ont été offerts car la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas (plus de 30°). Nous avons dû dormir fenêtre ouverte pour un peu rafraîchir la chambre.

Mysigt familjärt hotell i vacker, liten sömnig by

Mysigt hotell med supertrevlig personal och trevlig hund. Det verkar som om hotellet renoveras lite. Rummen är ganska lyhörda. Mycket hundar i området och på hotellet, vilket är ett plus för mig. Resturangvagnen var stängd och det var svårt att hitta något inom gångavstånd att äta, det finns tre restauranger i byn men ingen butik. Söt sömnig liten by med vacker utsikt.

Das historische Haus spiegelt leider nicht dem Charm seiner Bauweise wieder. Es fehlt an Liebe und Pflege, sowie dem richtigen Personal. Die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig. Wir hatten das Hotel als Stopover gebucht. Das Haus braucht dringend eine Renovierung.

Das ist niemals ein 4* Hotel!
Zum teil kein TV im Zimmer, das Frühstück zum teil nicht auf die abgemachte zeit vorbereitet.

und dem See
Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr gutes Frühstück
Die Zimmer sind farblich sehr schön.
Swimmingpool auch vorhanden
Pizzeria im Haus wird demnächst auch eröffnet,dann kann man sich direkt vor Ort verpflegen
