The key system didn't work so we had no key to our room. The hotel staff had to run to our room 3 stories up to unlock the door. We asked for a cancelation and Hotels.com said it was unrefundable. We chose not to stay because we did not feel safe. Too many problems checking in and people waiting in line to complain. The property is old and needs repairs. A sign in the elevator said not to hold the door open or the elevator will not work. It was very scary. The office closed at 7 pm so we couldn get our pillows we left in the room. Never will we stay in this type of hotel again!

Bathroom dirty, half of roll of toilet paper, room was never clean during the staying. Rooms supposed to be smoke free and the cigarette smell was horrible and I am asmathic and have to get therapy. So far worst hotel I even stayed in the Covington area. The staff was very friendly

Room was clean when i arrived. only issue was i stayed 3 days and received no house keeping service and when i asked i was told i had to book a week for me to be able to get house keeping. So for the 3 days i was there we received no clean towels , sheets , the trash bags , etc.

We had the absolute worst experience. We get into the room there is no remoter. There is no toilet paper. There were no towels. The shower poured out from the bottom faucet so the top part was cold water. The floors were so nasty my daughters and I had completely black feet. On top of it all there was a spilled milkshake in the freezer that had been in there for god knows how long. I want a complete refund. Customer service is closed at this place on Sunday.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in recent memory. When we arrived at 6:45 pm, the staff were locking up the office for the night. They hurriedly checked us in and couldn’t have been more dismissive.

Things got worse when we checked into our room. The floor was sticky and there was dirt on the ground. There was a vile smell to the room. The washroom hadn’t been cleaned prior to our visit. We had requested two queen beds, and these were barely doubles. One of the mattresses was off of its frame. The bed sheets were filthy, thin, threadbare and not suitable for sleeping on.

I could go on… but to summarize, avoid.

Nasty Staff with Nastier Work Ethics; NEVER AGAIN!

This reservation was made to visit with a friend who was attending the same rabbit show that I was attending. At the last moment, I had a medical emergency that prevented my attendance, but my friend was still going. When she showed up to check in, a black man wearing a mask was very rude to her and wouldn't allow her to check in. No call was made to the number on file. No message was sent to me (since I made the reservation). But my friend was treated so badly that she had to find a room elsewhere. I was embarrassed and angry to learn that she had been treated so poorly. I'm not just angry and embarrassed, but I'm absolutely shocked to have a hotel chain that I frequently use disappoint me so terribly. I was charged for a room that no one even got to utilize. I sincerely hope that charge for one night was worth destroying a customer relationship. I will never darken the doorstep of a Red Roof hotel again. Disgraceful.

The staff at reception; they couldnt do enough for us. We did have an issue with the cleaner, that did not get resolved, hence the missing star. The room was a standard room, not the ritz, but you get what you pay for. It suited our budget and we would definitely go back...purely because of how friendly the staff and other occupants were. Just be prepared not to expect daily housekeeping...this is supposed to happen once per week. However, we did not receive this despite being on the rota. The person on shift to clean our room did enter our room...but it wasnt cleaning that they did. Moving swiftly on...we had a great time. But for those that drive, I suggest hiring a car, as you cant get anywhere on foot from here. We survived on the use of Lyft...which isnt too expensive but it does add up. We wished we had hired a car for convenience. Overall, we had a pleasant stay here. So if you're looking for something on a very tight budget, this would work for you.

When we arrived, we had a quarter of a roll of toilet paper and told we could not have more. There was none to be. Had. I asked several times for clean towels never ever got them are key did not work several times twice we had to be let in by the guy that worked place smelled terrible old nasty smoke. so badly that it burned my eyes the whole time I was there We weren’t guest that we’re going to live there. We were guest that we were there for five days in town for a wedding. I will never ever come back to that place again. You also say you have a kitchenette we kind of thought we would get a coffee pot and some coffee cups and maybe complementary coffee. There was not a single glass spoon cup or fork in that place, I am very disgusted and I will never To return, I will be putting this throughout the Internet and to all of my friends I know my next trip to Georgia will not be spent with you

Suites nice size, but room was really dirty!!!! Cabinets with gross food, fridge, microwave, sink dirty my feet were black from walking around room. Constant smell of mildew in room and front office. Black mold covered shower curtain had to spray with bleach to even shower. Manager told me to go to office and make a work report cause I could get service when others were waiting. Many room doors open and unsafe. Stayed 3 day one of which lights went out and the next day the water. This place is trash!!!!!!!!!

Who’s this?” We got in late after a 7 hour drive and they couldn’t find my reservation. I had to go someplace else because the guy said there was nothing he could do. No. Just no.

I tried very hard to make the best of this hotel but unfortunately I would not recommend and we left before staying overnight. There were quite a few bugs crawling on the walls, burn holes in the comforter on the bed, the kitchen area was not clean including the burners and the inside/outside of the fridge. Not to mention check-in was 3:00 but we couldn’t get into our room until 5:00…because they were cleaning it? The toilet paper was wet on the side with a lot of discoloration which we were told was the “die from the packaging”(but why was it ok to offer TP wet in the first place?) Our non-smoking room also smelled very much like smoke.

The gentleman at the desk was kind but this establishment could use lots of cleaning and insect treatments before being offered to travelers.

It felt like people lived there and that it wasnt a place to stay for a mother and teenage daughter on vacation. The guy that checked us in was the best part. He was very kind. It smelled like Marijuana everywhere, people out of the balcony at all times of the night screaming at people on the phone about personal things, toys piled up in the parking lot. Its like people lived there and it was very uneasy staying there because we felt like we was invading other peoples privacy. There was a huge bug in the bathroom, the floor didnt feel like they had been mopped and trash was under the bed. We also did not have a garbage can in the room.

I booked a room here on our way down to Florida yesterday because my daughter and friend wanted to see the town. I don’t even know what to say about the hotel. It is by far the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed at. We booked this hotel for one-night the night before check-in. It was a spontaneous decision. The price after tax was around $95. I booked a king studio for the night. The gentleman who checked us in was super nice and helpful! Looking back, I should've just canceled the reservation and went somewhere else. People are living there full-time and are hanging out in the stairwells and the parking lot. Normally not a problem, but it did make me feel a little bit uncomfortable and unsafe. Our original room was on the 3rd floor right by the stairwell, which was perfect. Except when we got up there and unlocked the door the bed sheets were bunched up on the bed, there was fastfood bags full of trash on the counter, and a key to the room thrown on the floor. I go back into the office and he's apologetic and gets me a new room. The new room is about 10 doors down from the original room. At first glance, it looks rather nice: the bed's made, no trash, etc.. It wasn't until we started to settle in that I started to notice the little specs of dirt on the bed. The bathroom had hair dispersed on the walls and tub. The toilet had a bit of regurgitated food on the water tank lid. There was crumbs and dirt and dead bugs on the floor. In the time it took me to change my pants and put my shoes back on, my feet were black. The office is only open from 11-7. We were in the office as soon as they opened and it took 22 minutes to hand in the keys because people were renewing their stay.

Sad we stayed here even for the night.

Reserved a king bed. When we arrived my husband sat and sunk into the bed. We thought it was just one side was softer than the other. Well, when I looked underneath the bed, the king mattress was on a queen bed frame. As you can imagine part of the mattress was not supposed.
The bathroom door was not on the top hinges. Pictures below.

This place should not be offered as a place to stay from hotels.com… the area did not look to great, it’s more of an apartment complex instead of a hotel, and not to mention the room was disgusting…. Not to mention the fact that our air conditioner unit had been RIPPED OUT OF THE WALL and there was a giant hole to the outside. It was like no one checked the room before letting us check in. We had to scramble to find a new hotel during a convention weekend. We managed to find one but had to pay double because of the the last minute booking. I should honestly be reimbursed for the new hotel simply from the inconvenience. Does hotels.com even inspect these places???

The room was absolutely disgusting!! Hair and old soap was still in the shower. The table beside the bed was covered in a oily substance and the floor looked like it was never swept or mopped. Absolutely awful. I had no choice but to stay there since they had no extra rooms and everywhere else was booked. I was overcharged.

I booked a room at this facility recently and paid through Expedia.com. When I arrived later about 10:00 pm that night, there was no manager or staff present just a phone number. I called the number the man answered saying that if I booked after 6pm it had to be for the next day. There’s no night manager or key left. I explained I need a refund. He told to contact Expedia and that this happens often. I contacted Expedia and explained the situation to the online virtual assistants. I received an email saying They “were unable to contact management at Hometowne Studios by Red Roof Inn in Covington, Georgia. So my refund was denied.” Not only am I disgusted. Trying to find another hotel room at night after driving for hours to get there only to find out I can’t get the room I paid for. I’m profoundly disappointed! They should note on their website that if you book the room after 6pm, reservation must be for next day, but not the same day due to no one being there. So buyers ware!
