A charming seaside hotel.
We had a sea-view room, it was very spacious with great views out over the Moray Firth. Modern upgraded bathroom was very good.
The staff are lovely, very welcoming and happy to help.
Good cooked breakfast and the hotel restaurant is really good quality.
Parking out the front of the hotel is convenient (although limited spaces).
The only potential downside is that it's an older building so access is a little limited (no lift), but the staff are very helpful if you do need help.

We booked a seaview room and were pleased to get the dual aspect room with views of west beach, the lighthouse, golf course and the RAF base runway. There weren’t any flights taking off but the more distant view was a bonus. The room was warm and there were seats and a table so we could sit and enjoy the view whilst it was raining outside. The bed was comfortable once we had managed to sort the quilt out. It had been positioned very low down with all the excess tucked in at the bottom causing the mattress to be raised at the feet. The shower was interesting. It didn’t mix the water so it was either very cold or very hot, no inbetween, but we managed.
We took advantage of the two course dinner offer for residents and there were plenty of options on the menu. We also had the buffet breakfast in the morning, which had both hot and cold options and we ate plenty to keep the us going past lunchtime.
All in all a great stay and good value for money.

Bathroom dirty (bath drain & toilet seat), grubby skirting and carpet edges, tired decor and aging finishings. Apart from our welcome receptionist, staff were uninterested and even with half an hour left of breakfast, seemed less than pleased that we’d turned up. For 2 nights, we just put up with it but really wished we had stuck with our original choice of AirB&B. Such a shame when, 30 years ago, this was the go to Lossie hotel.

Friendly, helpful staff, but hotel not accessible.

The hotel itself was very tired, we had mobility problems and couldn't get into the over bath shower. However, the staff were very quick to find us a room with a walk in shower. The staff were very friendly and were always very quick to resolve any issues we had. One they couldn't resolve however was the 3 flights of stairs to the bedrooms, which were an issue for us with osteoarthritis.

I liked the size of the room and the sea View we say from the 3 windows.
it was.nice and peaceful.
There is a bus that takes you into Elgin but we never used it this time. The Staff was very good.

What I didn’t like was the room was in the top Floor and there was no lift. I forgot to ask for a room further down as I have difficulty getting up stairs.

Lovely in Lossiemouth

A stout building of local stone around 100 years old but reasonably well maintained and exceeding the excellent budget price expectations.
Staff friendly and helpful, public areas clean and comfy. Room large for standard twin and great view of bowling green. Food good in the evening and breakfast.
Well worth the money and a good night’s sleep, just what a hotel is for!

Overall, a very pleasant experience. All of the staff were friendly from the receptionists to the restaurant staff. Good choice menu in the restaurant with a meal deal option as well. Breakfast was included and delicious, meaning we had a nice start to our day. The property is in a great location if travelling to Lossiemouth with shops and food options walking distance. Would stay here again.
Just two things let the property down slightly which could be improved for a better guest experience. First, the bathroom in our room was very dated, had a cracked sink, poorly done filler used for gaps and needs modernising to make it better for guests. Our shower bar partially fell off during our stay but was mentioned to a receptionist who made a note to rectify. Secondly, the car parking bays were a bit small and was a bit messy with large works vans taking up additional space and reducing the size of adjacent bays, meaning cars were poorly parked and very close together. Simply removing one bay and increasing the size of the reamaining bays may solve this

Nice overnight stay at Stotfield. Room with a Seaview . Should give these rooms a good makeover and you would get a premium price. Clean and Comfortable . Evening meal was very well presented and tasty. Breakfast good but best to use local butcher for sausages !!!! Staff were attentive and courteous . Would certainly stay again.

The condition of the place wasn't really good. No soap in our bedroom, the sink was broken and there was dust and mold around the bath. Many things were aboit to give up in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable enough. The location was really nice by the west beach and breakfast was good.

We stayed in the Stotfield for 5 nights. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was consistently good. When we arrived our room was clean and the sheets were good quality. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. There is a fabulous hot water system - you can fill a bath very quickly. There was not a lot of storage in the room, and we were unable to unpack. However, we did have a table and chairs and the TV was a smart TV with access to all the various players. There is free wifi in the hotel and we were able to stream through the TV without a problem. There is no security on the wifi though so that limited our use.
Any contact we had with staff was positive.
During our stay the bin was emptied and the bath mat and tea and coffee refreshed but there was no evidence of a lot of cleaning - but then we were pretty tidy.
The hotel is in an old building so there is no lift but we were offered help to take our bags up the stairs.
There is parking at the hotel but not enough for everyone, however, it wasn't a problem to park on nearby streets.
We had a great sea view from our window, the hotel is in a beautiful spot. It is about 15 minutes walk to the main area for shops and restaurants. If you wanted to golf, the course is directly across the road.

Good room let down by the bathroom

Our room was very spacious and modern - no complaints at all, but the bathroom was dated and in need of upgrading, while the faciltites were clean there was mould on the tiles/corners/walls, the lino was ripped and dirty looking and the wallpaper was stained and coming off the walls.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was any hassle and they were all happy to help. The food was always exceptional, never had a bad meal. Overall a good stay.

Beautiful location but needs good lick of paint.

Beautiful building from the outside and it is in a prime location near the west beach. I had a double room with a sea view for my 3 day stay.
The room was a nice size with 2 chairs and a table by the window. View was amazing.
Unfortunately the wallpaper is coming away in places at the bottom of the wall and is painted in different shades where someone has touched up a spot in a different colour.
The bed was very comfortable.
The heating has a pipe that makes clanging noises every few minutes so luckily i had my ear plugs.
The room has an onsuite bathroom which desperately needed updating. The sink had a big crack in it. The skirting boards were dirty and the extraction fan did not work which probably contributed to issue with walls and wallpaper.
Breakfast was included, I only went down once and im glad. I was looking forward to fruit and yogurt but the fruit was literally 10 oranges. That's it. I had toast instead. They do provide cooked food but Im watching my weight so this was of no interest to me.
I had dinner one night which is pricey but was lovely. Can't beat a bit of haddock from the North East coast!
Overall, i enjoyed my stay but it's such a shame to see a lovely hotel not reach its full potential just for the sake of some TLC.

We were very disappointed by hotel. The shower was covered in mould, the water was tepid and power so little it was difficult to wash hair. There was no wash hand basin in shower room and the basin in bedroom was cracked. There was nowhere to lay or hang towels while showering in bathroom or in the bedroom or a towel rail to dry them. The shower room floor didn’t look clean and no bath mat on first day. This meant towels could only be used once. The wallpaper in our room and hotel corridors was peeling off. The noise from passing traffic and gulls made sleeping difficult. Breakfast was below average with little choice. Staff were friendly.

This hotel is in need of some TLC. The bathroom was very dated with peeling wallpaper and a wobbly toilet.. shower had virtually no pressure and the unit itself was very loud. Bed was fine, headboard and lamps very dusty. Carpet needs stripped out and replaced desperately. Breakfast was actually very good and staff always friendly and accommodating. Expensive at £70+ per night. Parking can be tricky as very limited spaces provided by hotel themselves. Off street parking available but first come first serve.

We had a lovely long weekend here. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Hotel was nice & clean throughout.
We'd picked a sea-view room which was spacious and comfortable with a nice view of the West Beach.
Breakfast had a good selection (not the greatest sausages but otherwise nice). Lounge bar was very reasonably priced.
The only note I'd make is the bathroom was a bit dated - but it had everything you'd need and worked without any issues.
All in all we'd be happy to visit again.

Things we didn't like.....room had zero outlook was overlooked by other rooms so had to shut curtains all the time. Couldn't leave windows opened at all at night because of seagull noise but that's not hotels fault. Room was therefore stuffy. Bathroom had a cracked sink which is hardly hygienic. Bath and tiles need a deep clean. A bit dated so it will hardly be gleaming. Overall, the room and hotel were very clean otherwise. Staff were lovely and coped well with the Covid situation. Nice communal areas and situation.
