Wonderful short break(4 nights) at The Orange Tree.All the staff were really on the ball.Very friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast was exceptional.Plenty of choice, well presented and cooked. Dinner menu also had a good selection.Lots of space indoors and out, dogs were very welcome.Good location for walkers with the coast close by. We highly recommend this venue

Lovely room, down the road from the pub: just a short distance, and parked on the road outside. This is a posh village, which seems to have multiple pubs/ accommodation, and reportedly an excellent 'Deli'. A beautiful area, easily accessed on the A149, past Sandringham, north of Kings Lynn. Excellent walking, quiet roads, good trails very nearby. I was there on business, just for the one night, but had a great stay, thankyou! Breakfast was good, though only available from 08:30, so maybe this wasn't really a business choice - this is a holiday village. The evening meal was very good - a great local Pork Tomahawk chop, though pricey as you pay extra for any starch/ vegetables that you might want to add. Their excellent drinks list is several pages long, with a great selection, even if they think Talisker is an Islay malt (it's from Skye!). Good menu, lovely staff (though I didn't get an iron and ironing board after all - never mind, I wore the same shirt again), and not a bad pint either. Again, thanks folks - for what it's worth, I'd thoroughly recommend a stay chez sous.

Gem on the North Norfolk coast

Fabulous dog-friendly cosy pub with rooms. Had a lovely ground floor room with a very nice wet room. Could eat in the bar area with our dog and the food was excellent and very creative. Lovely walk right from the door around the salt marshes and each access to other areas along the coast. Would highly recommend

We had a wonderful one night stay in the manor lodge with our dog. The room was clean, modern, quiet with an extremely comfortable bed. We also had an amazing cooked breakfast each the following morning and were really impressed with the service and food. We’ll be back next time we visit Norfolk.

Didn’t like dogs being in restaurant and bar area. They are not all quiet and get in the way. Unhealthy to have around food. Would make us think again about booking where dogs are allowed anywhere in the building. Dogs should be outside only.

Lovely place to stay in Thornham. Different accommodation available depending on your needs but courtyard room sufficient for a couple of nights for 2 of us and a dog. The included breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from and meals at the pub we're of good quality with service been excellent. Would definately stay at The Orangetree again and would highly recommend.

We had a last minute 1 night stay at the OT, our first visit. A lovely, relaxing stay. The staff were exceptional, going out of their way to make us feel welcome and relaxed. The accommodation (Dragonfly) was lovely, clean and comfortable. Onsite parking right outside a bonus. Nice drinks selection and breakfast was very tasty.

We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend and return without hesitation. Thank you to all the team at the OT.

The Orange Tree has benefited from an extensive upgrade and refurbishment and the place exudes an air of nothing spared quality.
We had an upstairs annex room and whilst the room itself was clean and well appointed, it was rather cramped and lacked any windows and therefore the option of nighttime ventilation - not so good in hot weather.
Food quality was good and menu choice also good, although service was a little slow at times, even though the restaurant was not particularly busy.

Disappointing. Avoid Courtyard rooms

My wife & I stayed at The Orange Tree in one of the Courtyard rooms.
Our pre-visit email included the information
\"Check-in will be strictly from 4pm only, to give our housekeeping team ample time for the necessary room cleaning procedures.\"
We arrived at 4:10pm to be told that our room wasn't ready. Obviously, check-in and check-out times are not ample !! We were offered a drink, which I thought would be complimentary, but we were charged £8.50.

The Courtyard rooms are very small. The only place for the 24\" television is mounted high in the corner of the room. There is sufficient drawer and hanging space, but nowhere to put luggage out of the way. The bathroom was large but no shelves. The walk-in shower had no door and consequently flooded the whole bathroom, which then could not be used again until the maid had cleaned up. The shower itself leaked from many joints and sprayed from both the rain-head and the hand-held spray. We were only staying two nights, so it wasn't a great problem.

The food was good, although the evening menu and breakfast are very limited for vegetarians.

Highlight was that I was leaving before breakfast, so they made me up an egg sandwich at my request so I could take it with me. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone always smiling. Wonderful! Thanks everyone

We went to the area to enable a visit to the RSPB reserve at Titchwell Marsh and only booked the day before as this was a spontanious decision to visit. We originally booked a courtyard room but on checking in found we had been upgraded to a room in the Manor Lodge which was a lovely room with an extremely comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities. Unusually the bath was actually in the bedroom, but there was also a 'wet room' shower. There was also a private garden/patio as part of the room. Around 10pm there was some noise from people returning to their rooms but other than than it was very quiet, and as both my wife and I are light sleepers we both slept very well. The only downside is that we were only there for one night, but will certainly return when we are in the area again. Highly recommend.

The Inn is well kept, and the stuff are really friendly. Unfortunately the room is really tiny (a bit larger than a bed), and the shower in the bathroom is open (no curtain or door): after taking a shower, there is water every where. The air circulation is not really good either.

The Orange Tree is a hidden gem in a small village on Norfolk. The accommodation, restaurant and bar within the16th century Inn are all superbly designed and very comfort made available. The evening meal and choice from the menu was excellent. We thoroughly recommend The Orange Tree.

A very lucky find. We literally booked this 5 minutes before we arrived. Great room/suite. We booked a room but it consisted of a bedroom, lounge and conservatory with a small garden. Excellent. The restaurant was busy and food first class. We will definitely return in warmer weather.

We had such a lovely 2 night stay. We were upgraded on arrival to a room with a small garden for our dog. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make a fuss of our dog. The food was very good with some nice wines on offer, albeit a bit pricey. The welcome and hospitality were excellent from arrival to departure.
The only improvements would have been if the room had been slightly larger, there had been more wardrobe space, and there had been a bath.
The hotel was welcoming and dog-friendly. The staff were all wonderful and made us feel like we were part of their family. The room was spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent; the chef Isaac created dishes worthy of a Michelin star. If you do not intend to stay at the hotel, come for the food.
