Beautiful and quaint. Restaurant had great food. The basement was very cool. Fireplace, pool table, and pictures of prohibition . Bring your drink down and relax. Definitely book a night or 2 you won’t be disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and stayed in Suite 18 which had a separate entrance that was great. Wish we knew that when we checked as we were told that we had to carry all up the front outside steps. Anyway, the gentleman at breakfast was great and couldn't be nicer and more helpful. All the staff I'd say was very friendly and helpful including the bartender Patrick. Our suite was clean and spacious and served our needs. The only suggestion would be more seating in the living room and also a chair and mirror in the big bedroom.

Very cute little inn. Rooms clean, beds comfortable. There was a game area in the basement with pool (even though the cues were in bad shape). Rooms very basic with 2 beds and a TV, no fridge or microwave. Updated bathroom. We had a huge beautiful balcony. Just know there is a restaurant below the rooms so it was noisy until about 10:00 or so.

This is the second year we stay at the White House Inn while we ski at Mount Snow. We love the spacious clean room. Nice amenities and a wonderful large shower. I'm not fond of a puffy mattress, but it still was comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, plenty of fruit, fresh baked coffee cake and pastries, varieties of toast, muffins, cereals, yogurt, oatmeal. We had a wonderful dinner in Clara's Cucina Restaurant. A true elegant dinning experience. We will return next year.

Our room smelled so strong like fresh paint that all of our coats/clothes absolutely stink a day or two later. We also listened to the adjoining room having an hour long marital break down before bed, as the walls are very thin. Other than that, it’s charming.

1- Beautiful restaurant on property - when we arrived - we are told that both nights we are there - there is no reservations to accommodate us - that is ridiculous that they couldn’t accommodate a twosome and the fact that we are guests of hotel
2- the Expedia instructions included COVID 19 results needed to check in - not rue!!! Please update
3- Expedia has mechanism to send a message to property - when we got there we asked them why didn’t they respond - the front desk has no idea about this and how to respond to Expedia message - property should be aware and should respond

We really enjoyed our stay at the White House Inn. The property was comfortable, welcoming, and met our expectations overall. The only downside was the pull-out sofa bed—it wasn’t very comfortable and seemed defective, as it wouldn’t stay up near the headboard to provide proper support. Aside from that issue, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the inn.

Check-in and staff were great. Room was very clean, bed was too soft lumpy and uncomfortable. We were given a handicapped room so no shower curtain and bathroom floor wet from shower. Was told at check-in breakfast from 7:30-a 9:30a. Got to breakfast and 7:30a saw other guests but no food, no breakfast, no staff, nothing. Went to front desk, no one there, all locked up. Called the after hours number, no answer called hotel number no answer, texted another after hours number, nothing. Waited until 7:45a with other guests, nothing. Self checked out and drove into town and bought breakfast. First and last time staying there. Shame because its a really great location and beautiful venue.

My stay at the White House Inn was exceptional. The entire facility is breathtaking with artful details around every corner. Having a fireplace in the room is a must during the cold Vermont winters. We ate, drank and listened to live music in the bar. Although I only ordered a salad, the food, drink and staff were all 5 stars. The historic Inn was spotless and well cared for, with evidence of its past lives echoing through each room. Overall it’s a stunning home in a bucolic location with a staff that clearly loves and takes care of her.

The room was perfect. Great size, nice and warm and the shower was really nice. The hotel staff was 0/10. Checked in, and wasn't told where our room was or where to park. Had to ask. Have to climb stairs with luggage and there's no staff to offer to help her even walk you upstairs to show you the room (door numbers are in no particular order). Parking lot is not well lit at night, beware. The breakfast should just stop service because you would think work a full restaurant kitchen they would serve something hot for breakfast, but that's a no.

Overall the inn was quint and beautiful for a fall weekend in Vermont. The biggest disappointment was my room had no heat. I had to resort to finding a space heater in order to stay comfortable during the cold nights. Requested assistance but never saw the general manager. Given the cost the inn, I expected comfort and warmth.

We loved staying at the White House Inn! Staff were so helpful and friendly, and we were impressed by the breakfast. The location is idyllic and the balance of historic details and modern comforts is just right. We were nervous about noise from other rooms (we could hear our neighbor on the phone as if she was standing right next to us) but didn't have an issue sleeping. Can't wait to visit again!

The room we stayed in was comfortable and had a great view from the balcony. The bed was very comfortable.

I would have liked more space in the bathroom to put a cup and other things. Also, an exhaust fan would be nice in the bathroom. But it was pretty.

The staff were all very gracious.

We had a good meal Sunday night in the restaurant and our waiter was very nice. I knew that the restaurant would not be open on Monday and Tuesday, but it would have been nice to have the bar open for drinks on the patio in the evening on those nights.

This is a beautiful inn. But my husband experienced no cold water during his shower! During breakfast, we had no napkins, and no server could be found. And to make matters worse, we heard loud footsteps from the room above us ( for 2 hours in the evening and an hour in the morning).

A few kind hearted suggestions. Since it appears the rooms are all upstairs, a bell hop would’ve been very very helpful. As it was, my daughter had to drag up two suitcases and two bags up 2 flights of stairs with no assistance.
It was very very difficult.
I followed with things to carry up the stairs and as a 64-year-old woman, it was also very difficult. I almost fell on the last few steps before Suite 12.
I suggest a nightlight in the bathroom. Maybe a sign that says “watch your head” for the loft, because that was unexpectedly painful. A clock in the suite would’ve been nice.
housekeeping needs to do a better job cleaning out the shower. There must’ve been a clog or Hair & I took a shower standing in water the whole time. Very unpleasant.
I also suggest educating the person at Check in. She didn’t know where the “game room” was and didn’t know you had a pool table.
She told us to ask a server where it was and this was a dinner time. We probably wouldn’t even have known there was a game room or a chessboard, if it wasn’t for the paper left in the suite which provided some information.

The speakeasy really the only good part of our stay. We spent our time on the property watching the Cubs game in the speakeasy. We were mostly by ourselves, & it was very pleasant.
I doubt we would stay there again.
I didn’t feel the hospitality and customer assistance that should’ve been provided at an Inn, for that price.

Gorgeous, classic New England property with a stunning sunset view from their front lawn. The bar and restaurant area were excellent. Just a few minutes drive to downtown Wilmington. The room for 2 had a cozy loft bedroom upstairs that was a welcome unique feature. My only minor complaint would be the room didn't have a fridge, but everything else was memorable and we had a great stay!

The place is beautiful and the rooms comfortable. But if you are hoping for service apart from the courtesy of staying in your room, you will be disappointed. They are catering to people who are coming to the restaurant and the vast majority of those people are not staying at the inn. If you are a guest at the inn, know that there are no reserved places at the restaurant for guests as is customary for inns with an on-site restaurant. More unusually for restaurants in general, this restaurant neither has a wait list for impromptu eating nor will let you eat at the bar. You are on your own and they will not let you eat if you don’t have a reservation. We experienced this firsthand.

Again, the inn itself is nice, but they are more interested in serving people who visit the restaurant. Paying guests who want to enjoy the amenities are a secondary concern. Visiting this area in the future, we will stay at one of the inns in town where there are also restaurants off site. The inn is only large to ensure it can service non-guest restaurant visitors.

We stayed only one night at The White House, however wish we could have stayed longer. After our arrival, the bar opened at 4pm. Mike the bar attendant was very friendly amd made great Old Fashioneds. We did not eat at Clara's but expect the food was great. Mike mentioned they make their own pasta. Rooms were spacious, updated, clean and had a great view. As a bonus our rooms had gas fireplaces, perfect for the crisp New England weather.

The property was beautiful, the hotel was beautiful, the room was beautiful. It appeared to be very clean until I found a used condom in the shower totally turned me off. Mary the night clerk, assisted in cleaning it up. And my stay was Tuesday, October 3 to Wednesday, October 4.
