The bed also great. No hot tub though, that’s a minus. And the decks are small . But for a dated hotel , it was a very nice comfortable stay .

Pelican Inn was very underwhelming. Rooms were not cleaned properly. Everything from floors not being mopped, dirty ceiling fans, bathroom not being cleaned properly, sticky tables, molding showers. Almost two thousand dollars for two rooms for two days. Just to say that I stayed in Cambria… no thanks. Staff were nice and located across the street from the beach but definitely not worth it

Room was great, location is excellent. Only (big) disappointment was the tiny selection of packaged items for breakfast - hardly worth the bother. We sat outside the lobby (where coffee and \"breakfast\" were set on a small table) and watched many guests come and quickly go, obviously sharing our disappointment. This cast a shadow on an otherwise very pleasant stay.

We recently stayed at Pelican Inn & Suites in Cambria and found both positives and negatives.
The best part of this property is the location. It's directly across the street from Moonstone Beach, with a beautiful boardwalk that's perfect for morning or evening walks. The grounds are nicely landscaped, the area is quiet, and it's a pet-friendly hotel, which is a big plus for those traveling with animals. Our room was spacious and comfortable but a little dirty.
Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. Our room wasn't ready at check-in time, and during our stay, housekeeping never cleaned the room. We requested extra towels, but they were never delivered. The staff was not particularly welcoming, and when we checked in, they didn't explain housekeeping policies or any of the hotel's amenities.
We were also disappointed that the spa on the property was closed. Instead of having an available hot tub on-site, we were told to walk about 1,000 feet to another hotel and ask their front desk for access to use their spa, which was inconvenient. We also found the office/lobby closed during the middle of the day, making it difficult to get assistance.
Overall, the location, quiet atmosphere, and spacious accommodations make this a nice place to stay, but the lack of service and communication kept it from being a better experience.

Bed was comfortable, the only reason for 3 stars. Room 205 setup is nice, BUT the couch was so FILTHY, couldnt even sit on it, old Cherrios cereal seen under couch, it needs to be replaced. Wall light fixtures had cobwebs, bath fixture very rusted metal and missing a bulb, water coming out of the shower handle where you turn on the water, they sent maintenance to fix right away, but the shower handle and showerhead and decor/tub itself very old fashioned, the room's old lamps need to be updated, balcony is very small, barely fit two chairs. At first sight the room looked clean, but after being there for a few moments, we noticed all the dirty furniture and rusted light fixtures, old old old ceiling exhaust fan in bathroom. We have stayed at 3 other places in this area, and we would not stay here again. Not worth $800 for two nights. Disappointing. Please clean up and take away old furnishings in Room 205.

I know this is an issue but you're are discriminating against smokers! Having a designated smoking area 3 feet from cars traveling at all speeds is not only dangerous but unacceptable yes the world has shunned us and your choice to admonish us to a dangerous spot is not being a responsible host

Sam, the assistant manager was so helpful and accommodating when we needed anything. True customer service from the entire staff!

The stay was mostly okay. The room itself was nice, but there was no air conditioning and the fan was not powerful at all. I had booked a partial ocean view and it was minimal at best. The patio was in the parking lot and I had a view of cars. For the price I paid, I was certainly expecting more.

Staff and room was great, but this hotel is a dead spot. The WiFi won’t work, I couldn’t make calls or communicate unless I went out the road. It was super Inconvenient. Cambria is bad enough with reception but I’ve never not been able to communicate, this was absolute dropped calls and no texting. I couldn’t work or do anything and they also only have cable tv.

I am requesting a discount to our recent stay. We sought out a hotel with a fireplace and an oceanfront view for a very special occasion. At the Pelican, we were beyond disappointed. We had the maintenance man come over four times to restart the fireplace which only lasted 10 minutes. We had no working fireplace for our entire stay.

In addition, we could not take a bath because the metal peg did not fit the metal hole. The hot tub was not in working condition so we could not use the hot tub. There was no hangers to hang up our clothes.

Second morning we wanted to get coffee from the office to sleep in and enjoy the room but coffee maker was not working. So we went back to the room to use the coffee maker but found there was no creamer or sugar. So, we ventured out to get coffee, only to return to find we couldn’t access our room and after trying to get key recoded —-didn’t work—-had to have manager open it. This was in addition to not being able to access electronically at arrival. It was not a pleasant stay to a potentially special weekend.

So....where to start....the room was not very clean. Lots of sand on the floor. The bathroom was dirty. (Hair in bath, unflushed toilet). The room was hot, no cross ventilation. Fan was \"clacky\" couldn't use on higher velocity.

Not the room I expected. We have stayed before, but most likely won't again.

On the plus side, the staff is polite, friendly and efficient. Great location on the beach.

We stayed in Room 412. It had a view of the ocean. You can only open the window to hear the waves as this has no balcony. We previously stayed at this Inn about a year ago when they were fixing up the 3rd building of which was part of Room 412. Apparently, the room needs further fixing. The room is showing its age, especially in the bathroom. The fire place did put out a lot of heat, which was great in the cold mornings..

The breakfast was only coffee, tea, fruit cups, and fruit bars.

The Pelican Inn is convenient to Cambria and the surrounding areas. We have now stayed at this Inn for the third time. Maybe it is time to find a new inn.

Spacious rooms/suites. Bathroom smelled of mildew. There are only stairs (no elevator) and if your room is near the stairway, it can be loud with ppl and their luggage. The room doors close or slam very loud and can be bothersome when sleeping or early in the am. For some reason the entry way had a strong cigarette smell, each day, which is off putting when coming thru the entrance. Location is great and views are nice. Property could use a few upgrades.

The view was fantastic and our patio appox. 60 ft from the beach. After acquiring robes and a shower bench as requested, our stay was perfect except for the toilet which was extremely low. After falling one time, we both had to use the shower bench as support and leverage to get up and down from the stool. Please replace with taller toilet!!!!

We arrived at 2:00 and, even though the hotel was not full, we were told our room was not ready. We came back at 4:00. our room had been cleaned but the computer said it had not. No way to check in. We waited in the lobby for another 25 minutes before finally getting our keys. This is not a pleasant start after an all day drive.

The internet in the hotel is useless. Slow and constantly logs you off. I had important work to do, which had already been delayed by the check-in mess. this situation was made all the more difficult as cellular reception is also nil. Yes, that's not their fault but it makes reliable internet that much more critical.

The fixtures in the bathroom, while generally clean, are ancient. An old bathtub with a shower curtain.

The next day, our room was not cleaned. When we enquired, we were told that they only clean the rooms every other day. Not what I expect for the price we paid and, in any case, no one informed us of that policy up front.

All in all a disappointing stay at one of the more expensive hotels in Cambria.

To begin with the door for our room was dirty hasn't been cleaned for a long time the same with bathroom door in the room and very hard to open i needed my husband to help. At 10:30 at night they were doing maintenance so loud we talked to them they said management wanted them to do that they just follow orders. Expedia gave us a price including everything they still charge us for incidental.
All together we will never go back there again

Stayed two nights in a King partial view suite unit; paid $660 which was slightly high, but probably about average for the area and the room. There was plenty of room and it was clean, the ocean view was okay if you sat out on the patio (we were overlooking the pool, which no one used). The sofa and chair in the suite were fine, but on the verge of getting a little worn; bathroom was a little older, but fine. Nice to have a little fireplace. Pros: plenty of room, clean, Starbucks coffee and Tazo tea in room, bed was comfortable, right across from the beach. Cons: hot tub was out of service (and looked like it had been so for some time), which we were looking forward to. No one came for room service, but I did get extra coffee when I asked the housekeeper. The biggest con was breakfast! It says that breakfast is included, but it was awful - bad baked good, fruit cup, instant oatmeal.

We were disappointed with our stay at Pelican Inn & Suites, especially considering the premium price charged. The “included breakfast” advertised on the website consisted mostly of inexpensive packaged snacks and instant oatmeal, which did not match expectations set by the property. We also paid extra for a premium fireplace room, only to discover the fireplace was nonfunctional. When this was brought to staff attention, the response felt dismissive and lacking accountability. Most frustrating was being promised a credit for the issue, only to be repeatedly delayed and jerked around afterward. Overall, the experience did not justify the cost, and the hotel failed to deliver the quality and service that was advertised.

The breakfast no so good. Only a couple of things and coffee available. The coffee was not great at the lobby, but it was good and strong in the room.

Our stay started out wonderfully. The area is lovely, and our room had a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. The bed was incredibly comfortable with nice white linens, and the room was equipped with a fridge, microwave, and Starbucks machine (though we noticed only single-use plastic cups were provided). The bathroom is a bit dated but clean, with great towels, and the ceiling fans kept the room perfectly cool without AC.
Sadly, the hospitality fell short on our final day. I woke up quite ill, and my husband asked reception if we could extend our stay or move to another room. While our room was fully booked, the staff insisted we check out at 11:00 AM and wait until 4:00 PM to access a new room. Being sick, waiting around for five hours wasn't an option. It was a shame that the hotel couldn't coordinate with housekeeping to get another room ready early for a guest in need. It spoiled what would have been a great review.

We really liked our room, we were in the 3rd bldg, 1st floor with a patio and (partial) view of the ocean. The property was small enough and enough parking for everyone. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, staff was cheerful. Best parts were wine tasting next door (Katie(?) our hostess was a delight) and inn was just across the street from the Moonstone beach boardwalk. Only problem really was the overhead fan in our room which seemed to intermittently make a ticking noise when on. Other than that, yes, loved our stay and will definitely stay there again.

The property is located across the street from the ocean, so the views are beautiful. The room was very spacious and nice touches like the fireplace. The bathroom however desperately needs to be updated. The tub grout was not nice and the tub fixtures were not mounted right. The bath soap mounted on the wall in the shower was empty. The room has 2 sinks one in the bathroom and one outside near the door, however the faucet in the room would spray water everywhere if used. The bed was very comfortable, and street is very quiet so it was easy to get a good night sleep. The front desk person apparently does multiple tasks as they were not always there and not very friendly. The \"continental breakfast\" provided was a couple pieces of breakfast cakes, granola bars, bananas. and apples. They had coffee but nothing else for non-coffee drinkers like myself.

Wonderful location since the boardwalk can be accessed by crossing the street. The room we received did not have a view of the ocean and was not bright but that was ok since we did not spend much time in there. Bed was very comfortable and shower worked well.
The only thing that was slightly confusing was that we saw 2 credit holds on our card, one for $1 and another for $24. Since that was the daily charge for Premium internet, we thought that we were billed for that even though we had selected the Complementary internet. Both charges dropped off when we checked out of the hotel, which was good.

Feet away from a Moonstone beach entrance, this comfy hotel did the trick. The room and property were extremely clean, and their garden was beautiful. There was some noticeable but minor wear and tear I noticed in the bathtub and doorframe to our patio, I’m sure they’ll get to it eventually. The coffee was strong and good, but there were tiny half and half containers, no vegan option. Fortunately I packed oat milk creamer, the three people I heard ask for it (over a few days) were not so lucky, especially as no one made an effort to restock. In general their breakfast wasn’t really for me, some baked goods (tasty but not substantial) oranges, apples, and sugar packed and low quality yogurt and granola bars. Rooms were cute and clean- no A/C unit only a fireplace. There could have been better instructions on how to use the fireplace as there was only a thermostat so I had to can front desk to have maintenance come turn it on. Hot tub was small and only one in the property so we needed to wait a while for the kids to come out.

Property is close to the water and beautiful walking trails. All and all hotel is nice and what was expected

Water machine was broken and same with ice machine so needed to walk to next building- breakfast was also not as advertised- small cakes and cereal bars available only

Great place, walkable. Very close to the beach. It’s non-smoking but it was obvious people smoked anyway. Parking isn’t that great.
