Clean room , helpful staff , roof top pool excellent views , but access issues due to lack of handrails on the wide steps into hotel , about 8 , as well as no ramp , plus no handrails for the steps from indoor breakfast room to outdoor courtyard area , which is a pleasant area to have breakfast . Loud music , radio , played by pool bar irritating , unnecessary , most people arround pool wearing ear pods ! for some reason . Rooms at front of hotel lot of street noise due to being opposite a parcel delivery centre

The whole place smells like cigarettes, bathroom had what appeared to be black mold under the bathtub & there was hair on the floor from previous guests.

Amazing staff

The staff are amazing! They were very helpful when we had a problem with the rented car, they talked (greek) to the renting car company and sorted things for us.
Location is also great, near the beach area and the old town.

The beds were not comfortable. Everything is so old and not really functioning well. The room air conditioner hardly cooled the room but the bathroom wall hair dryer from the 1970's got so hot on the handle you finish drying your hair. Definitely should not have \"Palace\" in its name.

Great location. Parking is pretty difficult and the shower in the bathroom was setup a little different than is customary in the US. Other than that the place was great. The location is fantastic and the city is great. Easy walk and the service was awesome. Didn’t make it to the pool. Would gladly come back.

The Achillion Palace is a good base for enjoying Rethymno. Public areas are spacious and well maintained, with an outer courtyard to enjoy breakfast or relaxing in. The roof-top pool is not huge but big enough for a swim or a cool down, with a small bar open all day. The rooms are adequate and clean although bathrooms are a little cramped and in need of refurbishment. The actual bath in our room was too small to actually bathe in!!
Air-con is efficient if a little noisy as is the room fridge but it is a very welcome addition in hot weather.
breakfast is included making for a good value stay. There is a reasonable selection of hot and cold food which is replenished regularly. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Overall the hotel offers good value for its amenities and its location and we would be happy to recommend it to others.

Fabulous hotel central for everything

Loved this hotel. Really central. Two minutes walk to beach. Two minutes walk to the first restaurant staff really lovely and friendly. Gorgeous breakfast with plenty of choice and indoor and outdoor seating. Great pool on the roof. Lovely sized room with a really comfortable bed and great free wifi. If we are ever in the Rethymon area again we will definitely be back

Best value hotel we stayed at while in Crete. It's 20 mins on foot from the bus terminal but we made it easily with suitcase. We were 1 min walk from the beach although the area was a bit shabby and noisy. Room clean and we had a separate balcony area, shared with other rooms. Was offered a welcome drink in the pool bar and beware the ouzo mixed with orange is strong! The staff were helpful and friendly and I'd recommend for a short stay and if you're on a budget.

One night only. Great central location. Very nice hotel with excellent service. Lovely pool on roof with panoramic views but needs a coat of paint. Superb breakfast including fried egg, bacon, sausages etc. Got a good discounted price online and would stay again. Only negative, no parking so either in the nearby streets or paid car park but got parked easily in the street so not a problem.

Very nice hotel right in the heart of Rethymno Town, a short walk to the beach to the right and amazing dining and shopping to the left. Nice rooftop pool and bar, comfortable room, excellent breakfast buffet, lovely lobby. Great value.

Thanassis and the rest of the staff were very courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and loved Crete. I have a feeling this won't be our only visit!

One word to fellow travelers from the U.S. -- the hotel doesn't provide towels to use at the pool and beach, so we had to buy our own at a local souvenir shop. Apparently this is considered standard practice by all the guests from Europe, but I've never had to provide my own beach towels before! LOL.

Went to Crete for the first time and we had one of the best holidays! The hotel staff extremely kind and keen to help, breakfast well over average and the location is convenient between the best beach and old town (5-10 minutes walking).
Tavernas and restaurants or shopping are plenty of them and the food is fresh, tasty and priced reasonably.
I strongly recommend the hotel.

Perfect base for a long weekend in Rethmynon.

Great location close to all that this lovely town has to offer. Very close to the taxi rank (2 mins walk) if you want to get out and about elsewhere. Don't expect lots of luxury extras as this is a budget hotel but the staff are great and the rooms are clean. The breakfast is excellent and there is a lovely garden as well as a pool terrace serving snacks and drinks throughout the day. Highly recommended!

early season-not a good time to stay at this hotel

Arrived on a Sunday for a weeks stay. swimming pool was out of use due to a leak. it was late Friday before the pool was repaired, filled and use-able. The restaurant was not open at all during our stay.
the various gentlemen on reception were friendly and helpful but it seemed like the hotel was working on a skeleton staff. I am aware that it is not yet the summer season but feel that if you advertise as having a pool and restaurant then they should be available.

lovely little hotel near to town and beach

We arrived at Achillion and had a lovely greeting at reception. The room was clean and the beds were very comfy. Achillion is only 2 mins walk to the beach and to town so a great location. We had a front room which looked out onto the road, it was quite noisy at night. I think the rooms at the back of the hotel would have been much quieter. There is a nice roof top pool with a great view. There wasn't much entertainment or atmosphere for a younger group but we liked it. The staff were friendly and we would definitely stay there again.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at the achillion palace for 4 nights, the welcome by thanasis was brilliant, the rooms were spacious and clean, bathroom was slightly dated. The location was 1 street from the beach and the bars, would certainly use this hotel again. Breakfast was also plentiful, local and continental. Can't wait to go back.

Nice hotel in the city center close to the sea

Achillion Palace is a nice hotel, well kept and clean. It is in a residential street of Rethymno really close to the sea. The rooms in the upper floors have a magnificent sea view. There is also a pool and a bar on the top floor. The breakfast consists of local and mainly Greek products of high quality. Generally the price-quality relationship is really good considered what we paid. It's definitely not the Ritz but it's a good smaller scale hotel ran by polite people.

The people at the reception desk are nice and gentle but the hotel is very bad conserved and need a restore (see pictures).
I paid 475 euros for 3 nights so I expected MORE (I was also at Chania Chora Sfakion and Heraklion and the Hotels were nice and prives OK).

The hotel has an excellent location, so the beach, the old town and the restaurants were all within walking distance.
Unfortunately, we didn't like the hotel's facilities, as many things are in need of renovation and weren't always cleaned properly. Nevertheless, we would recommend the hotel to travelers who want to reach everything on foot and only want to use the hotel for sleeping purposes.

Mooi stadshotel vlakbij winkels en strand

Goed hotel dichtbij het stadscentrum. Veel winkels en restaurants in de buurt. Ook het strand is vlakbij. Geen parking. Met wat geluk vind je gratis parkeerplaats op straat. De kamers zijn ruim en netjes met basic comfort. Wij apprecieerden het droogrekje op het balkon en de koelkast. Wifi is ok. Geen internationale tv-zenders. Het ontbijtbuffet is heel goed en wordt regelmatig aangevuld . Je kunt ontbijten in de mooie tuin of binnen. Het zwembad op het dak met poolbar en strandstoelen is wel wat klein voor het aantal bezoekers maar wel prachtig uitzicht. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf.

Sehr freundliches Personal, sowohl beim Frühstücksbuffet, als auch an der Rezeption. Die Duschkabine ist sehr, sehr klein. Das Bad an sich ist in Ordnung.

Hôtel situé à 10 minutes à pieds de la vielle ville. Pour le parking je recommande celui du port de plaisance qui est à 5 minutes et qui nous à coûté 6 € pour 24 heures (le parking du fond à droite, celui de gauche est plus cher). L'hôtel offre des prestations tout à fait correctes mais la décoration de la chambre est un peu vieillissante (surtout la salle de bain), mais il y a tout le confort.
