Very nice hotel

We were very satisfied with the hotel. We also received an upgrade to the Penthouse, which was very good. In addition we had another room on the top floor directly to the beach. The hotel provided lots of complementary drinks, fruit and sweets in both rooms.
Only negative was two of the staff in the breakfast room. They looked like they had very bad days at work, not friendly service at all.

Location and facilities were great although quite noisy at times. Staff were all lovely and willing to help in any way they could. Staff came to the beach a few days giving watermelon and drinks to everyone that wanted it which was a nice touch. Rooms were good but not 5 star with broken tiles and room cleaning was erratic ( some items replaced some days and not others)

Really enjoyed our stay here, the hotel and room was immaculate condition. Shame the pool was a bit too cold at end of October but made use of the warm indoor pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast had a great choice and staff could not have been more friendly. Highly recommend.
Only downfall was our room was supposed to be full sea view but more like partial sea view from first floor as part of hotel building blocked the majority of the sea view from our balcony.

Could be better for a 5-star resort

Overall aan excellent stay. Quite impeccable. Two things however for a 5-star hotel, there should be parking facilities options. We are left own our own. Options could include an underground garage, possibly off valet parking (with a fee) or at the very least, clear indications with maps of the locations of paid parking lots. Second thing, again a 5-star hotel should have either freshly squeezed orange juice or at least pitchers of none-concentrated OJ. Certainly not pale OJ from a fountain dispenser.

Excellent place. Great location, walking convenience to everything needed for the nice vacation. Beach, water activities like paragliding and jetski, dining, bars, tours, old town, shopping, etc. The hotel itself is well maintained, great service and useful amenities at the hotel itself, like pools, deck, spa, dining and cafe. Will consider staying there again.

Service not 5-star level but friendly staff.

Parking: For those of you with rental cars, there is no parking at the hotel and no parking space available in close vicinity either. Closest paid parking is 20 minutes away.
Service: Its a mixed bag. Very friendly staff, however we wanted to extend our stay with one night and unfortunately there was a mix up. We eventually solved it, but the inconveniece of discussing the issue with the staff took several hours (and made us uncomfortable).
Otherwise very attentive and friendly staff overall.

The breakfast is incredible. There are so many options and great quality!! The view is second to none. The area is perfect for beach, walking to the Port etc. There are great places to eat in the hotel and very close . It was a wonderful vacation!

Great place for great holidays

It's a great location, highly recommend, quite and in the middle of live of this beautiful city Retimno. Great shopping, beautiful long beach with sand and warm water.
Beach is just 1 min walk and it's really close, we went swimming in the early morning and late everything for sunset.
Beds are good. Room is quite big and you find there everything to dry your swimwear.
Only teakettle in the room was missing.
Food in the hotel is ok, we had only breakfast, but around there are plenty of taverns, bars, coffeeshops, and supermarkets with fresh fruits and good prices.
Next i stayed in Agia Pelagia, it's terrible. Rethymno is really great place for great holidays

The Reception team were polite and helpful with the new electronic check-in and contactless check out.
The service staff in the restaurants were not helpful and didn’t know when the App worked for service. The first day we had to wait for cutlery. The second day the tables has been properly ser-up.
The water for the bath was yellow and slow to drain away. The shower and sink water were fine.
Whilst there was disinfectant stations throughout there were regularly small bags of rubbish near the elevator.

Property had a great view and staff very friendly. In a great location to walk to restaurants. I recommend eating at a restaurant off the ocean front for lunch and dinner as it gives you a better flavor of Greek Cuisine. Breakfast was very good with a lot of options. It is dated and the walls were not sound proof so we could hear the people in the next room. Thankfully, folks around us were not loud and went to bed early.

Great location and amenities. Regrettably they have no parking lot so if you drive a car there, expect logistic challenges in finding a place to park overnight. The service is quite good - not 5 star, but friendly overall.

Great location and so many restaurants and shops close by which makes it convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful and very accommodating. I was not impressed with the spa and the location (right by the fitness center inside the hotel) made my massage not enjoyable since I can hear the noise from the treadmill and people talking right outside. The pools are great and there are three of them, too bad they close early, around 6pm so after a long day of activities or excursions you won’t be able to enjoy the pool. The hotel is great and has several on site locations to eat and drink. The breakfast was not too impressive and we only ate it once during our 5 day stay since the options were limited. But Rethymno is amazing and we had a great time. This place is about 1-1.10 hours from the port or airport.

Relax in comfort

After an 11 day bus tour of Italy, our group of 6 senior family members decided to unwind on Crete at the Aquila Porto Rethymno. It exceeded all of our expectations and our visit to this Greek paradise became one of the highlights of our vacation in Europe. There was fine dining and nightly entertainment in the hotel with a beautiful beach across the street. Shopping and a large variety of restaurants were in walking distance as well as tours of the ancient town of Rethymno.

I stayed in this hotel for one night in May 2017, single room, bed and breakfast.
The size of the room is large for what is labeled as a single, and very comfortable, as is the bathroom. Very good toiletries are provided – Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion.
The service at the hotel was impeccable, my compliments to the reception staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping and management !!.
One can select a different pillow from the standard provided, which I found to be excellent.
Breakfast was very varied and tasty, coffee was not good (too weak) , but I was provided with nescafe when I requested it, so this was not an issue.

The only issue I had during my stay, which would perhaps cause me to book a different hotel next time, is the rather large gap between the screen separating the balcony of the room and that of the adjacent room and the wall, in effect enabling free access between the rooms. This really disturbed me, in particular as a woman travelling alone, as I had to have the curtains closed whenever I was in the room, and also could not sleep with the balcony door open for air and had to sleep with the air conditioning on which I usually try to avoid. I’m not sure what the reason was for building the screens this way (they are not interconnecting rooms), and I imagine it must incur additional air conditioning costs for the hotel too if there are others not leaving their balcony door open due to this reason.

Good Location

A comfortable stay across from the beach and a 15 minute walk to the old town. Not sure I would class it as a 5 star hotel, it needs some updating/modernising and maintenance. Quite a busy and large hotel. Staff friendly and pleasant.

The hotel was good along with the staff but it was very disappointing to have all the smokers whenever you were outside. We could not have breakfast out doors because there would be someone smoking next to you. We had to keep our balcony door closed because of smoke drifting from other balconies, particularly below and to our side. We had to go out of hotel to get away from it. There should be a smokers wing so that those who don't can have a more enjoyable stay.

Having stayed in hotels across the world, including USA, Far East and Europe, I have never met a more dedicated, helpful and caring group of people that were working at the hotel. I was a pleasure to stay here, and we left remembering people as well as the place. A 5 star service all round. A wonderful resort, and a beautiful island to explore. a delightful holiday.

De accomodatie is gelegen vlak bij het oude centrum van Rethymnon en de haven. Wij hadden een zeer goede kamer (zijdelings zeezicht). Er is een groot strand met parasols en drankbedeling tegenover het hotel. Service en eten zijn zeer goed. Zeer vriendelijk personeel.
Enige nadeel is de transfer in gedeelde shuttle (lees tourbus) van Danaos Travel. Als je boekt, zie je een taxi voor 7 personen, maar in werkelijkheid is dit steeds een tourbus voor 50 pers. die zo dikwijls stopt dat je over de afstand van 78km, 3uren p de bus zit. Er is natuurlijk de optie van een taxi, maar dat kost dan 3x zoveel.

Tres bon sejour a refaire

Bel hotel. Tres bien placé, en face de la plage et environ 15 minutes de la vieille ville, proche de commerces, restaurants. Le personnel est tres sympathique, souriant, disponible, professionnel a tous les niveaux (plage,restaurants, bar,réception,... supers équipes). Hotel bien entretenu. Tres bonnes prestations aux restaurants (repas variés , beaucoup de choix!).
En septembre, beaucoup de places piscines et plage
Seul petit bémol: le ménage dans la chambre est trop rapidement \"expédié\" (en 2 semaines certaines lacunes: toilettes, sols, balcon..).
Un tres bon séjour a renouveler!

Mycket bra läge, wow frukost!!!

Ett riktigt bra läge precis vid stranden och ca 15 min till gamla stan som som är vackert med sina gränder som aldrig tar slut. Dem har 2 st poolområden ute 1 inne men solstolar är det tyvärr lite för få av men det finns stolar och egna strandstolar om man gillar havet. Frukosten var otroligt bra med mycket variation. Kändes lite slitet så 4+ stjärnor för min del. Kommer gärna tillbaka.

Wie waren im allgemeinen zufrieden mit dem Hotel.
Positiv fanden wir vor allem die Lage in Rethymno. Zu Fuß war die Stadtmitte schnell zu erreichen, wo es zahlreiche Geschäfte, Restaurants und auch Bars mit guter(lauter)Musik gab.
Ebenso waren die Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen immer sehr freundlich und haben sich gut um einen gekümmert. Das Hotel war sauber und das Zimmer wird auch regelmäßig gereinigt, wenn man das so möchte. Aktivitäten gab es auch einige, allerdings waren diese eher minimal. Wer hier ein Hotel mit vollem Programm sucht, wo die Animation viele verschiedene Dinge anbietet und sehr aktiv im Animieren ist, ist hier eher nicht richtig. Wir haben das aber nicht gebraucht, weshalb wir es ganz angenehm fanden, dass man einfach wenn man Lust hat selbst zu den Aktivitäten gehen kann.Es wurden Pilates, Step, Yoga, Stretching, aber auch Boccia angeboten.Die Pools sind eher relativ klein und deshalb relativ schnell voll, wenn man nicht rechtzeitig zu den Liegen geht. Das hat uns aber auch nicht weiter gestört, denn wir wollten eher an den Strand. Der Strand ist durch die gut befahrene Hauptstraße abgetrennt, die man überqueren muss, um zu dem Hoteleigenen Abschnitt mit Liegen und Schirmen zu gelangen. Das hat uns aber tatsächlich auch nicht unbedingt gestört, da der Strand ganz schön war. Essen fanden wir auch gut. Es war in der Regel abwechslungsreich. Abends gab es auch Musikprogramme, die auch schön waren. Es gibt einen kleinen Fitnessbereich und einen Spa.

Verkligen ett otroligt hotell med ypperlig service. De lever upp till sin rankning! Fin strand med privata solstolar på stranden som ingår. Helt OTROLIG frukost med stor variation. De gör verkligen det lilla extra för gästerna. Vi fick välkomsvin och frukt på rummet. Personalen var alltid nära till hands. Rethymnon stan var nära att promenera till och vägen dit var härlig att gå. Stranden utanför är perfekt att stå på för att se den vackra solnedgången. 10/10 och vi kommer gärna tillbaka!

Hotellet overrasket positivt. Hotellets område har høy standard, mye finere og bedre enn det fremkommer på nettet og hjemmeside. Treningssenteret kunne vært bedre og hatt utvidede åpning og stengetider. Stort utvalg på frokost, manglet bare ferske brød.
Men alt i alt så var vi kjempefornøyde!!!!
Vi hadde kun frokost og glade for det. Finnes MANGE fantastiske restauranter i gamlebyen.
