On September,I stayed 10 nights in Canungra Hotel . I was very pleased with the closeness of Canungra to Tamboribe, O'riellys, Binba burra, and Beechmont as well as the Gold coast. The hotel staff, particularly the house keeping staff are outstanding, and were willing to help in any ways..The hotel was quiet at night.

0ld and never clean the room and replace towels

Putting sign for cleaning room morning when went out. Come back evening room not clean and towels not replaced. Only one light in room and too dim

Overall it was a pleasant stay ... a bit disappointed as it said it had a refrigerator in the room (lucky I had my esky in the car for my medication). The heater also didn’t work and it was a rather cold night but the bed linen was warm enough.

Charming hotel, be aware there are stairs up to the rooms. We chose not to use the \"common\" area, though it appeared to be kept clean and tidy with a communal fridge and coffee making facilities available. The check in process was easy through the bar staff.

Such a lovely stay. Beautiful old pub hotel, with gorgeous old light fixtures and furniture but modern beds and amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Was clean and comfy and just perfect for what we needed.

Great staff. Very friendly and food is great in the dining room. Very small room and was sold for three occupants. Not enough room for a trundle bed to fit so that we could walk around it to get to the bathroom. We tried two trundle beds before we could find a clean one without stains on the blankets.They should review their room rates. Too expensive for what was offered but there isn't much to choose from in Canungra. Will try the Motel next time. It looked nicer and it has a pool.

Historic hotel, clean, tidy, and with great staff!

The room itself did not have many of the 'mod cons' (apart from TV and aircon) typically seen in a modern motel room, but then this motel is 80 years old. Tea making facility and fridge were in a guest's common room down the hall. This was nice for meeting other guests, however a sink to wash used cups and supply water for the jug would be good, instead of having to use the bathroom wash basins.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. 10/10 for them!

Room was cold, heating didn't work. Booking said room had fridge, no fridge, snacks and drinks had to be left out. Mice enjoyed said snacks. Room overlooked a yard full of junk. After hours entry took me 5 minutes to unlock. Hot water stopped running mid shower.

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel close to several beautiful natural areas such as Mt Tamborine and O'Reilly's. Rooms were clean, air conditioned and had a TV. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Sheets were great quality. A very good quality Country Pub

Unusually surprising hotel with a vintage feel

The hotel was centrally located within Canungra, with easy access to nearby amenities like cafes. The accommodation was situated on the second floor, and surprisingly, the first floor was a bar and dining area. First impression might be poor due to the noise at the first floor, but nevertheless, it was quiet and peaceful without much noise. Basic necessities such as kettles and fridge was made available in the common area. Overall, it was a pleasing stay.

Felt like stepping back in time

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this character hotel. The staff were excellent and we enjoyed a good dinner here. It was a bit like stepping back in time but we really enjoyed that. If one is looking for upmarket sophistication then this is not the place, but this place more than made up for it in character in our opinion and we would not hesitate to repeat the experience.

We chose the Canungra Hotel to be close to the Hinterland sights. It was a cosy and quiet spot, with a beautiful view. Limited options for eating out, but a nice restaurant at the pub.

Room was NOT serviced the 2nd morning of our stay

Our room [No 1] was not serviced the 2nd morning of our stay, unfortunately. We did not say anything, [complain at Reception] thinking this was perhaps normal??? However, next morning, bed was made, fresh towels provided, and waste bin emptied.

Old school charm, well maintained

Very comfortable, with lovely down stairs restaraunt and bar and games room for kids.
Quaint little village, park across road from hotel for my 2 year old to play. Close to Mt Tamborine and 30 mins drive from theme parks. Highly recommend, Great value for money!

Lovely old country hotel close to national park.

The hotel was very close to the national park where we spent most of our time. Also a busy town where you can find everything you need for your travels. Hotel is the oly place open for dinner after 6pm and last orders is at 7.30pm. Good food there.

Good sleep whilst at Mt Tamborine Christian conven

I had a few important events following the CMS summer school and so looked up at the internet nearby affordable places that were carpetfree and found this one. I didn't quite realize it was above a pub/hotel so the décor and amenities were different. The bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet though above the pub/hotel. There were no clotheshangers in the wardrobe and the table for reading and studying was very low to the floor making it hard to get my knees under. The bathroom was spacious and nice. The drive to Mount Tamborine daily was somewhat spooky on the way back at nighttime through the dark forest.

over priced charged extra for extra person no bed

Food was well over priced and average. Got charged extra for an extra person to stay and didn't get an extra bed or towel. Wasnt a couch to sleep on so all three had to sleep in double bed. Air con was good. Shared toilet and shower. Was clean but heaps far from anything.

Character hotel

We have eaten many times in restaurant but we needed overnight accommodation so this was perfect. The only problem was the hot water taking so long to get hot = water wasted & the shower rose would work better with more pressure I guess as it only ran well when facing down.

Country Town Getaway

The hotel is located in the heart of the country town of Canungra, 35 mins drive from the Gold Coast. We used it as a base to go walking in the nearby hinterland parks and nature reserves. We were impressed with the vibrancy of the town community especially the Op shop, information centre and the two main cafes. The Public Bar is really lively too on a Friday night with a good band playing 1980s covers.

Great way to celebrate a special occasion

The hotel had all facilities, TAB, pokies room, 2 beautiful wood fireplaces, and a huge restaurant area. The food was outstanding. 2 main meals ( blackboard selection ) and a bottle of wine ( white, red or bubbles ) for just under $45 ( Date Night) . We had steak which was cooked perfectly and was very tender.
The room ( ensuite ) was typical of an old hotel, the bed was very comfortable and the room was warm, considering it was the start of winter.
An extra blanket and pillow were supplied along with a lcd tv and air con.
Facilities for tea / coffee were shared with fresh milk being in a very clean fridge / freezer. A toaster, microwave and an iron were also available for use in the shared facilities room.
Also on arrival, we were asked for name / address details and were given an a4 sheet of paper , which also required credit/ debit card details. Very unsafe practise putting those type of details on a loose piece of paper ( I politely refused this request ) so an imprint was taken.
