This hotel is very family friendly, we stayed Easter weekend and they had an Easter egg hunt and meet and greet with the Easter bunny. We have canceled 2 holiday reservations due to bed bugs found in our room. The hotel general mgr has declined to return phone messages. Staff has had major turnover and it’s lowered their service greatly. Used to be our go to several times a year for years, with the last 2-3 years renting multiple units. None of this mattered because, as I was told, paying thru a third party isn’t the same as being one of their Worldmark owners.

Checkout staff was rude about checkout time and I had to cite the name of the assistant manager to get her to back off. Normally everyone is very courteous—I stayed at these two properties 6 weeks this year— but I had a number of really bad service issues during my plus 2 weeks this time. Used to feel like my home away from home. Still the nicest location in Birch Bay.

The view from our room wasn’t great (parking lot) and we were right above the trash area, so when we had our window open, we could hear the people tossing trash (sometimes very loudly) but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The staff made up for that, so kind, attentive, and awesome. Would recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay here. It is very family oriented so if you prefer not having kids playing and enjoying themselves- avoid. We were an older couple and wish we could have had our grandchildren with us. Staff is very nice. Coffee is served in the lobby from 7 to noon. Breakfast is not provided. Our space had a full kitchen so we were just fine - eating in or out when we wanted. From what I understand, this is a timeshare facility and spaces open up when owners cancel their available time. The biggest complement I could give - we would go back if not on the opposite coast.

We've stayed before, again pools were out but noone said anything even at checkin. Pools had just opened next day. I took a hard fall as I stepped onto top step of hottub, even though I was gripping rail and am always super careful. It was as if oil was on it, my leg bolted out from under me. That was one week ago and Im still in pain and its been a real 'pain' since as my tailbone took a hard hit, twisted ankles going down etc.We reported it to front desk right away and were told they'd have maintenance look at it. We stayed there an hour and noone came. We said something again, same response. I have emailed the Raintree Corp and no response to date. Crickets. It would take so little to at minimum follow-up. Just fix the problem Raintree.

We stayed at Raintree’s Sandcastle and had a mixed experience. The staff was exceptional. The were consistently friendly, helpful, and really the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, the room itself didn’t live up to the same standard.
There was no air conditioning, and with temps in the high 70s, the room got uncomfortably hot. The fireplace pilot light, which you can’t shut off, added to the heat. We had to keep windows open just to cool things down, and it didn’t really help until late at night.
The bathroom wasn’t great. We had very low water pressure, and the tub didn’t drain, which made for a gross shower experience. The TV was tiny and outdated, not ideal if you're planning to relax in the room.
The kitchen was a plus. It was well stocked with cookware, dishes, and utensils, which made it easy to prep meals without issues.
Just be aware: this is a timeshare property, and it feels like Expedia rents out the units when owners aren’t using them. That’s fine, but it explains the odd mix of condo and hotel vibes.

We stayed in a penthouse suite and it was great! Lots of space, amazing view of the bay, very comfortable. We were able to play cards outside in our little porch while watching whales spout and even had an eagle fly over! Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay and we felt pampered. Definitely putting this on our \"going there again\" list!

My first impression was Sunnie at the reception desk was so friendly! It turns out all the staff were very friendly and more than happy to help with any questions we had. We reserved a two bedroom unit .We found that the King bed was very comfortable. I read from other reviews that the furniture and decor were a little dated but we didn’t mind at all. The unit was very spacious and clean. Very homey

Perfect for a family stay. We used everything in the kitchen. The blender, oven, pots and pans, toaster, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
Everything worked great and was clean when we arrived. The table is large enough for several people. Quality furnishings just a bit outdated. The dryer took hours to dry the load of laundry but it did eventually dry.
The pool is heated! My daughter and I had a lovely time in the pool and hot tub. It was 51 degrees outside and still warm in the pool.
Check in was quick and the staff friendly. She told us there was a rooftop area where you can lounge and look out over the water. We went up at sunset. There are lots of chairs and my kids saw a lighthouse signal for the first time. We had a great time!
