It was a Terrible experience with Expedia even tho I saved a few dollars. I couldn’t get assistance from Expedia compounded with heavy rain during an evening check in. I ended up paying an extra night upfront just so I can stayed away from the heavy rain during my stay as it was unsafe to drive.

Louvre window in bathroom rattled all night in the breeze and the concrete floor provided no sound barrier from the loud footsteps upstairs, which I believe was the staffs quarters.

There was plenty of room for parking.
When I arrived at reception I was told to fill out a form with all my details which was time consuming, I booked through expedia and Ive never had to do this before. Staff communication was minimal at best and kind of unfriendly.
The room had all the amentie. The bathroom was very good with plenty of room.

The property is pet friendly. However, we didn't have our dog with us. The shopping centre is only a 2 minute drive or 20 min walk. The people of Otorahanga are friendly and Retail staff are pleasant and helpful.

The room itself was adequate. Cinder block walls but functional and in a good location. The downside was the room was under the office and it sounded like it was being renovated upstairs. The work began very early in the morning and was very noticeable.

A good place to stay in Otorohanga near to Waitomo Caves. We stayed as a family and the two bedroom unit is quite functional, with enough towels and kitchen utensils provided for 5 people (bed #5 is in the living area, with 2 separate bedrooms). It's a beautiful semi-rural outlook at the back, with nice views, though steep - right on the side of a hill. Despite being on a highway it was beautifully quiet at night, and dark, with minimal light coming in which was a plus.

Staff are friendly and helpful. But there are some shortcomings. The property is quite old - the key looks positively ancient, and it didn't feel all that secure. Sheets on the beds are too small and keep coming off - had to leave the heating on at night (which worked OK). The worst bit was the shower though - the floor is so slippery it's actually a hazard, several of us nearly slipped over in there. This definitely needs some attention.

We had booked a Standard Suite, 1 Bedroom, Non Smoking, Kitchen (unit / twin) but when we checked in we were allocated a different room - A Premium Room 1 King.

The person at reception told us that \"Last Minute\" had advised him that this was the room that we booked. He couldn't do anything about it and to take the matter up with \"Last Minute\".

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED? We had booked accommodation via \"Last Minute\" several times during the previous weeks without a problem.

In addition
We had to wash the dishes in the bathroom hand basin because there was no kitchenette sink.
We also used the bathroom handbasin to fill the kettle but the kettle was difficult to fill because it did not fit properly under the tap.

The glasses were dirty and they stuck to the inside of the cupboard

The cutlery and cups were also dirty, we had to wash these ourselves before using them.

The doona covered just covered the bed. Face washers were not supplied.

The \"last Minute\" website advertised “Laundry Facilities” however there was no laundry, We were advised that the Hotel provided a laundry SERVICE and would do a our washing for $10.00.

Perfect for our needs. Nice to have pool on a hot day. Dated but comfortable. Would have been nice to have milk and ordinary teabags, only Earl Gray provided. Unfortunately very noisy people in unit next door, coming and going, very loud, until 4am. Would recommend

The motel is located next to the state highway, convenient to access, to 15 minutes from the Waitomo caves. The host, Margeret is very friendly and helpful. She provided milk when we checked-in, and also offered to dry our wet cloth that we got from the previous activity. Although the facility is not the newest but it's very clean and convenient. I am happy that we stayed there for the night.

We had a very enjoyable stay: friendly staff, very quiet room with no traffic noise. Clean room,comfortable bed and nice bathroom with high pressure shower.

Wifi would have been useful plus a small jug, so we can refill the kettle as the bathroom sink is too small to fit the kettle under the tap.

The manager was so wonderful and helpful. I would recommend this motel to any travelers. It was centrally located to most of the sightseeing in the North Island, kiwi house, glow worm caves, geo thermal geysers, botanical gardens, shopping and places to eat. Our bed was very comfortable, the other 2 which the kids used were too soft for them so we took them back to their tiny house. Check in and check out was extremely easy.
I give these accommodations a 10 plus.

The property definitely needs renovations and upgrade. The kitcen is very outdated and the kitchen cupboard was dirty, and some of the utensils were oily and dirty. The lady at the reception was helpful and nice, and the bed was comfortable, but apart from that the rest of the room wasn't up to standard. The cost was $150.00 per day, and it wasn't worth the money you pay for. The shower recess was small, and you can’t adjust the shower head.

The staff was nice and friendly, however, the bed linen was dusty that we start to cough during the night. We were not able to use their swimming pool as they will open it at the time for our check out time. 11am - 9:30pm when it should be open in the morning before your visitor check out. Most of the time we are out to visit other tourist spot around the area and morning is the only time we will have time to use the pool to relax before we check out.

Margaret was super friendly. We had a nice 2-bedroom with kitchenette. Not super fancy, but clean and had everything we needed. Good location only 5 minutes from the Kiwi house and 15 minutes from the Glow worm caves. There's a small pool, which was nice.

At check in I was not given any instructions on where my unit was (motel is split across two sites separated by a highway). The TV was broken which I was not told about. The guest laundry facility is not really a guest facility as you are not allowed access to do it on your own so are reliant on staff being available in my case it took longer than it needed to. There was no milk in the fridge to go with the tea/coffee making. It was not value for money.

We really enjoyed the pool. The water was cloudy from the development next door but that didn’t hinder our fun.
The property was dated but exceptionally clean.
The kids play area was not as in the pictures. The trampoline should be taken down as it is warped and can’t be used. The swings are still staring but old and creaky.
We found the owner (?) rather abrupt and hostile but they were incredibly busy when we stayed (over the Xmas / New Year period so this may not have helped.
Was really neat to be able to take our dog.

Good location. Quiet with no traffic noise. Pool was great esp on those hot days. Playground equipment was old and tired. Swing set is for smaller kids only. Trampoline had no safety mats or side walls and was next to the swingset on an uneven slope. Rooms were fairly basic. Suitable if you are wanting a budget type, simple and functional room. No shampoo, conditioner or body wash provided so best to bring yourself.

We stayed in the king studios which looked brand new inside. Microwave, dishes plates cutlery etc. no shampoo/ Conditioner though. Fresh Milk provided.
Step down to the car park from the unit could be an issue for elderly or those using walkers in the units we stayed in.

Didn't like that the lights were on outside (all the rooms) all night, apparently they are solar so obviously cannot be turned off, but we were kept awake most of the night by the light shining straight into the room.
The mattress was very hard and we had to ask for more pillows as were just given two.
