Cabin has a bad smell (note on wall stated it was recently varnished but did not have this smell). Shower went hot then cold on and off which made for a very unpleasant experience. Overall i would recommend to get an ensuite and skip the cabin to stay. Friendly staff but overall not a pleasant stay for the price.

Yes the cabin ws spotless and fully equipped
Laura at Reception was friendly and helpful.
Reception isn't open untl 9am and I thought that was very late in the day for a tourist facility. Travelling alone I would have slept in the single bed but it had no reading light.

Everything was great and would definitely stay again. Hours of local restaurants were not optimal for us so check ahead and see if it works for you. Front desk staff was helpful and it’s close to so many caves and bushwalks.

Call ahead to confirm latest check in that was posted incorrectly from Hotels.com owner was super nice when he spoke to me and let me know it was no problem to check in late. Great location for glow worms

We just stayed one night and chose because of location. The park is lovely with lots of open space. Checkin was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable enough and the small kitchenette was helpful. It was very easy to get to the glow worm caves and tour, just minutes up the road. We could’ve walked if it had not been raining. Internet was a bit spotty but we could get done what we needed to.

A real gem !

This was an unexpected stay and it was unexpectedly delightful. The place was clean and central to the Waitomo caves tour ( 1 min away by car)
Special mention to staff GUY - such a helpful and diligent staff member - a credit to the place. No question too hard. We hadn’t made a booking for the cave tour and accepted we missed out and was going to leave for Rotorua. Guy continued to make enquiries even when we had checked out and he called us an hour later to let us know there were spots available and helped us book in asap !!!! We made the tour ! What a delight. Thank you Guy !!

Cabin was nice. Spacious with a little deck. Wish we had a view other than the carpark.

Everything was nice and clean except the hot tub which looked kinda grimy.

We were not really warned that pots and pans were only available till 8p, so we had to borrow some from other guests to cook dinner.

Very convenient location for caves, visitor center, and a couple restaurants.

There's no hot water in the room. As I entered, I can clearly see that the curtains are very dirty and looks moldy.

There's a $2 fee/towel if you want to use one. There's free Wifi, but its only free up to 1GB of download after that you have to pay.

We booked a 2 night stay, but left after the first night.

Location, location, location… We chose this place because it is very close to the Waitomo Caves. It’s a mixed campground and motel, with small bungalows. Our bungalow was cozy and simple, with no frills. But it was nice enough for a one night stay and met our expectations.

The shower was hopeless. It was a flat shower bottom as part of the bathroom floor - instead of the water being contained and drained from the shower \"outline\" - the bathroom and kitchen flooded with water. Otherwise, everything else was lovely and clean and we really enjoyed staying here.

The receptionist at this property is what all receptionists should rate themselves by. Absolutely fantasic service and amenities here. Close to the activities we wanted to do and great food within a 3 min walk. Fantastic. I would stay here again and look to stay at other villages accross NZ.

We were allocated 2 rooms with queen beds. We were given originally on arrival 1 room with 1 twin/single bunk set and 3 single bunks. When we complained were allocated 2 cabins with the same setup. Rooms were very tidy and the shared toilets/showers spotlessly clean. Couldn't be bothered pursuing the room setup further as it was a short stay

This site is probably best suited for families with children. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. Only problem was the lack of sound proofing from the adjoining cabin where there was a toddler who seemed to spend 12 hours opening and banging every door he could reach.

Good recommendation to view glowworm for free at Ruakuri walk. The holiday park also provide direction and torches for the walk.
