The room was fine but it lacked a bit of maintenance. We ran out of hot water on our last day but we had to leave by 7am so couldn’t contact the office.
The internet stopped working a few times and one of those days we couldn’t even watch free to air tv.
The included amenities were as expected.
Going upstairs for the beds were difficult in the tiny homes for adults. The kids enjoyed the experience.

The property was clean, staff overall we friendly and helpful. Just a small note if you stay in one of the tiny houses look at the weather, if it rains or is windy you can definitely feel it. Also be mindful if the trailer is not leveled the shower can leak. But if you and your kids like an adventure its all worth it. Kids had a blast.

It was a new cabin set outside the castle walls. The castle was available for us to walk around in - that was fun and entertaining. Castle is a little tired and getting older but we enjoyed the wander - took us an hour &half. The only glitch for us was no extra blanket in the cabin for the colder winter night. I told staff that I thought this would be a good thing to supply. Excellent continental breakfast supplied as part of room price. Very enjoyable stay.

Stayed previously and had a good stay. First stay in cabin/ tiny home. Unfortunately the heating was very inadequate and had to cut short the stay. Staff were helpful and offered to change rooms but had already booked elsewhere. Staff arranged refund without prompting. Although a bad stay staff were attentive so will probably resolve this issue with heating. I would consider again in the future

Incredible value for money, to have continental breakfast and castle access included for our stay was amazing, made for a great day after a long drive and an excellent chance for our toddler to enjoy the attraction.
Room was basic, but enough room for our family, walls are a little thin in the budget family rooms, we could hear next door clearly, but for a single night and the price we paid it was fine.

Like: Loved staying in a castle room complete with tapestry on the wall. Enjoyed the free complimentary continental breakfast and free admission to the theme park. It was super hot on the day we explored the castle so it was nice to be able to go back to an air-conditioned room to cool down and have some lunch before heading back out. And the parts we didnt finish exploring, we went back again the next day to finish. The staff were all super nice and the actors/characters at the theme park were outstanding!

Dislike: Not enough hooks and shelves in the bathroom. Also the glass door in the shower leaked so there was water on the floor outside every time anyone used the shower. The shower floor was also super slippery. Location wise, there's nowhere to eat after dark so no choice but to head to ballarat city centre or buy takeaway before you come back to the castle.

But overall, we enjoyed our stay and recommend this place. Great value for money.

The best experience!

This is an amazing place! The rooms are even like a castle. Our teenage boys loved it. Lots to do and discover and learn. Included breakfast which was great. Staying in the castle made us feel like we were living in the age. Music playing and gifts shops of the era plus the josting and sword fighting was wonderful. If you go to Melbourne make sure to take the quick trip to Leigh creek to go to Kryal Castle and better still stay the night in the castle.

We loved the cabins. The bed was amazing and so was the shower. Its in a gorgeous location with countryside views. We were surprised that we were allowed free rntry into Kryal Castle after hours. It felt special to be able to explore on our own.
A suggestion would be to provide chairs on the decks outside the cabins. We had our own but other people had to dit on the steps or stand.

Kryal Castle was an excellent place to take the grandchildren. The room we were allocated though was not suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. There was no table or chairs within the room which didn't allow for us to sit around in the room when required, even to eat at night. Providing a complimentary Continental breakfast was an added bonus as it was not advised when booking.

Loved the program with gem packed activities in the castle. The stay was unique and dream like to be in a castle and we all loved it. Check-in wasn’t the best as the room was not ready at 2pm and I had to run up and down to the receptionist twice to get the key only after 2:30pm. The room can be better with some maintenance with the ceiling above shower peeling off and coffee mugs with stains. It’s very windy at night which makes a loud noise from the window that keeps me up almost the whole night. Otherwise it’s been a great experience.

We recently stayed at Kryal Castle, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! Staying inside the castle was so much fun, and the accommodation was cute, cozy, and beautifully presented. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were truly wonderful—warm, friendly, and always ready to help.Exploring the castle grounds and immersing ourselves in the medieval world was even more entertaining than we expected. The shows were interactive and engaging, and the performances were top-notch. The gardens provided a peaceful retreat, and the animals were a pleasant addition to the overall experience.We highly recommend a weekend stay at Kryal Castle for anyone looking for a unique and entertaining getaway. We stayed here two nights, mid week, which means the shops, eatery and basically all activities are closed. The upside to that is that you get the grounds to yourself, there's still LOADS to do for adults and kids. My two teens were out there for hours exploring and playing in the grounds.
The room (commanders quarters) was small as expected, but roomy enough for a family of 5 to stay comfortably.
The only downfall was the lack of kitchen space and cooking amenities. We had to use a cup to fill the kettle, and dishes had to be washed in the sink in basin.
Not a huge issue, honestly, a minor inconvenience at most, but when someone is in shower and you want a coffee.. that can be a bit annoying.

Other than that, the fact there was nowhere available to cook hot food other than a microwave was also midlt annoying.
We had planned to order food to be delivered upon our arrival but thought we'd wait to make sure there was a stove or BBQs, thankfully we didn't. We did however spend 30 mins in front of a microwave heating up 5 frozen meals for tea lol

Overall we loved our stay, the staff were more than helpful, we had loads of space to ourselves during the week, we were not at all bored during our time there. we are already planning to come back during the busy season, to see what the other side of Kryal is all about. We will be prepared next time!

DO NOT STAY HERE! got given a foam mattress on floor with a sheet that had holes in it. The mattress was on floor under window that wouldnt close and door with huge draft. EVERY piece of furniture was broken and filthy. The shower door didnt close and the window literally falling apart. Toenail clippings and dirt on floor. Pillows non existent wafers and king bed (two single mattresses) had broken springs. After hours number was never answered. Only one shampoo and two soaps for 3 people. Not worth $270 pn! Absolutely horrible stay. Was really good until Big4 took over. I REPEAT DO NOT STAY!

I think we came during a quiet time which was ideal for us! No noisy neighbours! The room was imaculate and very cosy!! The heater and all other amenities worked amazing they even had a mini heater in the bathroom which was a first and being winter it was AMAZING! a bit outdated but as a castle i think thats the vibe and we loved it! My 3 year old keeps talking about the castle now 😆 i would recvomend coming during the weekend as thats when everything is open we didnt do our research and just thought it was open daily and stayed during the week but had other stuff planned to do in ballarat anyway but a good heads up if you want the full castle experience during your stay :) plenty of free things that are open 247 and the cool little photo props and castle details are great!

Our stay at Kryal Castle was overall great! I liked how our park admission was included with the purchase of our room, and how quiet it was after the park was closed! We got to walk around and see the buildings and do the stone maze when no one else was around. The Abbey Tavern was open late, so we had some supper there and it was delicious! The decor there and in our room was all in theme, and quite lovely. We stayed in the honeymoon king suite, and I really appreciated the appliances provided like the mini-fridge, microwave, etc. My partner loved the bed, but I found it a bit uncomfortable as we both kept rolling towards the center of the bed. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep very well, but my partner did, so difference of perspective there, lol. We really appreciated the heat pump as it was hot the first day so we had the air on, and freezing cold the second day, so we could warm up. The jetted tub was lovely, but I only got to use it briefly. I'd love to go back again for another stay! My man and I give this place a big HUZZAH and two thumbs up!

The room (king honeymoon suite)was small, cheap looking, and outdated. It liked like a crappy motel room with a tapestry on the wall.

Spa bath tub had a shower over it with no curtain or screen. There was not enough hot water to fill the tub so it as unusable. Spa bath was one of the main reasons I booked this room. Manager said \"well if someone in the other rooms took a shower..then there might not be enough hot water for the bath\"

Walls of bathroom had various molds and water damage. You could see unsealed gaps around the mirror in the bathroom with light coming through from outside.

key cards stopped working one evening after returning from dinner and we couldnt get into the accommodation lobby. A guest had the same problem but luckily his girlfriend came out to let us back in.

Other guests were noisy at night and early in the morning and knocking on all the doors including ours. You could hear everything going on in the rooms next door. If someone was in the corridor you could hear everything.

Overall it was a terrible stay and I paid premium prices for a crack motel level stay.

Manager promised me a refund and started the refund process with wotif. Wotif then did absolutely nothing. I had to call to chase up my refund and I was told by wotif I would get it in 7-10 days. Four weeks later I still didn’t receive my refund. I had to call Wotif back, and they confirmed that they NEVER ISSUED MY REFUND. After complaining I got my money back.

I stayed in the most beautiful room. It was spacious and had everything you needed while still keeping to the castles theme. The weather is quite cold so my room has had the heater on already for me. I had an electric blanket and a heater in the bathroom as well, keeping me very warm. The bathroom was unreal, with the round room hidden behind a magical looking door. I had a courtyard that was so green and luscious. It was just beautiful.
The castle itself was unique and amazing with so many activities and things to see. Every lap i did, i seen something new. They had shops everywhere that were a great touch to bring that extra experience of fun and to take home souvenirs. The photo opportunities are everywhere with the castle being just brilliant to see including the jousting performances.

I have stayed at Kryal Castle about 4 times previously. This was my first stay in the Commanders quarters.

When I arrived, there was no welcome to Kryal card, there was no mini bar or snack foods on offer which there were in other rooms. There was one packet of biscuits to share between two people.
The toilet roll holder does not sit on the wall properly, so when you go to tear off some paper the toilet paper roll falls onto the ground,

I booked for two adults. The room had a double or queen bed and 7 bunk beds in it. None of the bunk beds were made. When I rang the after-service number to get a blanket so that my teenage daughter could sleep in a bunk bed (I gave her 2 pillows off of mt bed) I was told by the accommodation manager that they charge extra for linen to have extra beds made up. They should not assume that 2 adults are a couple and if I have paid for a room with 7 bunks in it, at least one of them should be made.

When I came back to the property after buying dinner, I could not see the parking bays. Lighting was so poor that I made my daughter get out of the car in the rain to direct me as best she could into a parking bay.

This was my worst stay at Kryal and the disappointment makes me question whether I would go back and stay again.

I found on arrival that as paying guest for two nights we could not even get dinner. Appreciate that they have events on but i would have expected paying over night guest would have been looked after. No bins around the property. In our King Suite SPA NO water pressure, TV did not work, and no staff around to speak to. Not impressed with the experience and will not be recommending it to others. I went here 20 years ago and Kryall Castle it self needs money spent on it, not turn it into a caravan park.

We had a nice stay. The walls are paper thin and we had to put on white noise to block out the neighbours talking at 11pm also the heater was on 27degrees all night as it was freezing.
It was great to be at the castle ready to go at open. The witches and wizards festival was great. Would be good to have an onsite Resturant for breakfast.

It is a very dark setting. We left early AM, and it was difficult to find our way out (both walking out to the entry area, then driving out to the street!).

NOISY letdown

The experience of staying in a 'castle' was eclipsed by the fact that that we had to put up with the noise from the neighboring rooms. Walls were thin enough that we could hear conversations, toilets, fans, KIDS, doors, jumping, wall bangs, etc. at all hours. (Crying kids at various times of the night). We were in a barracks that included bunk beds and a double bed but out of the 6 bunk beds, 2 were made up, leaving the double bed. It was assumed the two adults were sharing the double but I was looking forward to a bed on my own as I have recently suffered broken ribs---not to be!! The wife said on check-in that the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and although our room was cleaned and restocked (coffee, milk, biscuits) on the first morning, it wasn't repeated. We stayed 3 nights.
On a positive note, the access to the themed castle was great and the kids enjoyed the activities. I enjoyed the mead.

Room was not properly cleaned. This is especially disappointing when this is in the middle of a pandemic. The glasses still had previous drink stains in them, and there was not enough cutlery to use (1 fork for a queen bedroom).

Great place to stay

Great place to stay, quiet, clean and nicely appointed room.
Up on a hill so we woke to fog and a really great medieval feeling. Had a walk around before we left.

Very beautiful place, kids had a fab time at the maze. The room was clean but the bedside tables, windows and doors were a bit dusty. Overall had a wonderful stay.

We had another wonderful stay at Kryal Castle for the Baroque Horse Festival weekend, the horsemanship and performances were absolutely magnificent! The medieval feast on the Saturday evening was divine which also including a wonderful stage show during dinner. Overall another wonderful weekend away at one of our favourite places! 🤗 A big thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable! ❤️
