Great hotel, terrible room. Once again, we got the \"Expedia Room\", you know the one... even with lots of available rooms with big bright windows they shoved us in the corner with a tiny window and lots of lobby noise. What a terrible way to welcome a first time guest. So yeah, like the hotel, hate the Expedia Room and will never book again.

Enjoyed our stay in this Historic Hotel. The rooms have more character than any other Hotel we have stayed at. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night. We had been on a week long road trip and this was the best night rest we had in the whole trip. Right in the DT core so very walkable. There are Restaurants and shopping and views of the Bay and Marina. Staff was also friendly and helpful.

This is an old brick building that is decorated from the turn of the century. Common rooms as you pass from floor to floor and wind through the building. Very cozy and interesting. And you step right out to Main Street and the bay. We would highly reccomend The Palace as a unique and fun experience.

We stayed for three nights and didn't receive fresh towels the entire time. The parking was limited. Other than those two areas the stay was nice. The room was clean and set up nicely with a kitchenette and a nice AC unit. The view from our room was great looking out at the water. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

Overall an interesting and unique hotel. Very well done decor. Housekeeping was great. Look at the pictures of the room you are booking. There are no elevators and the third floor is a 50+ stair climb. We would stay there again - on a lower floor.

Hotel has rich, interesting history and has a B&B feel. Interior keeps with the unique Victorian style and various sitting spaces on all the levels add to the charm. With ceilings close to twenty feet tall, natural light is abound. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates these sorts of things.

If you are looking for a unique place to stay, this place fits. The common areas are designed in early period decoration. We only stayed the night but it was perfect for our stay. It was right in the middle of everything we needed in town.

The Palace Hotel is a lovely old Victorian Hotel with beautiful woodwork, stained glass, flowered wallpaper and lace curtains. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a gorgeous view of Port Townsend harbor, with a private bath,and a small kitchenette. The king size bed was very comfortable.
There is a grand old stairway to climb with luggage as there is no elevator. A parking pass is issued for the parking lot to the rear of the building. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is centrally located on the Main Street of Port Townsend with numerous restaurants and shops nearby, as well as the beach, harbor and ferries.

Loved the historic build and decor, high-ceilinged room, and common spaces — even used the second floor library to do remote work for several hours late one night. Large bathroom with nice fixtures. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great stay.

The Palace Hotel is very conveniently located right in the middle of the historic district of Port Townsend. The hotel itself has a great and varied history, and each room is decorated to reflect the history of the hotel. Our bed was comfortable, our room was clean, and the two flights of stairs on were a lot, we for sure got all our steps in! Port Townsend is friendly and charming, and has several delicious restaurants to choose from!

Clean room, limited parking. Staff was very nice. Our room was right above a pizza restaurant and our room smelled like a combination of grandma perfume and burnt pizza. Bed was fine but the one chair to sit on was not comfortable. We paid for two nights… but stayed only one.

We stayed in room 20, which turned out to be a full apartment with a large kitchen, bathroom, living room/dinning room and large bedroom with two beds. It was very clean and well outfitted. It was also very quiet, even on the Saturday night we stayed. I can't recommend it highly enough!

A fun historical property right in the main port area. The front desk was friendly and had some good recommendations. However, they didn't tell us we got the haunted room until the next day. The ghost was no problem other than banging some windows. Come to think of it, there was a lot of wind that night, so who's to say it was the ghost?
One word of warning: there is no elevator, and this is a historical building with 20-foot ceilings. We did get some help with our bags, but something to keep in mind.

Such a cool historic hotel in an amazing central location. Surrounded by great shops and restaurants and the beach! There are a lot of stairs so just be prepared for that but if you are staying in one of the view rooms, it’s well worth the climb!

The property welcomes pets with a care package with a blanket and bowls. My dog loves it here. $40 fee seems average for the area, and I am respectful and keep him off the furniture and try to keep him quiet.

I would give it a 4.5 if the rating scale would allow and here's why: Since this building is deemed a historic landmark, they are not allowed to have elevators. My companion had to suffer up to the 3rd floor with her bad knees. No elevator and no breakfast is not a 5-star experience for me. But, it was a positive overnight stay we would consider doing again, thanks.
