Convenient to town and a marvelous piece of history., it was a little shabby so I wouldn’t recommend it to friends that stay at five star resorts.
Staff was excellent including the restaurant.
The woodwork could use a little touch up and the windows were in real need of cleaning.

The lady who checked us in was great and answered all our questions. It is a great place and make sure you take time to view the history and the castle. There are stairs to get into the lobby. There is also a Mexican restaurant on site which had entertainment the night we were there.

this was the filthiest room I have ever seen I was exhausted when I arrived or I would've left immediately I had to spend half of the night cleaning the toilet and bathtub just to be able to wash my socks it was filthy I could not use any part of the room it smelled like urine even with the windows open and the fan on it was full of black mold stairs with no elevator access, no carts, the whole hotel smelled like urine. on the outside it's a castle on the inside you're going to fight with prostitutes for the microwave.

If you enjoy unique and historic buildings it's a great place. I was pleasantly surprised how well the building was maintained as sometimes places like this just feel run down and not well maintained. I did wish the on-site restaurant was open longer than just a few hours in the evening for dinner.

It's a castle!!!How cool is this place!
Of course things are not going to be as shiny and up to date as your typical Vegas casino or Red Lion hotel but damn, the history and looking at all the HAND carved woodwork more than makes up for the the little imperfections. Not to mention... Ghosts! No I didn't experience anything but still... Come on...it's a freaking castle, by the sea, in a cute town. I took my husband for a Father's Day road trip and we had a blast staying here and going on a haunted walking tour. Don't forget to check out the town for more haunted locations, Fort Worden, and the antique shops. We both agreed we'd love to come back soon to see more. The perfect seaside trip ♥️

Property has loads of character and we were glad we checked it out. For price point, I’d expect a bit more. Wouldn’t take much to improve such a gorgeous piece of property. Check in host was kind but next morning I got snapped at for requesting coffee at 7:05 because they don’t open until 7 (and coffee was just dirty dish water, I recommend packing your own coffee). I would love to see a new owner come in and give this property the grandness it deserves. Overall, however, our stay was still very pleasant. Enjoyed the room, the grounds, and the surrounding area very much.

This was over a one hundred year old property. It did not have any access for handicapped. The electronics in the room did not work. Because of the age of the property, the smell in the room was very musty.

This old mansion has been incompletely converted into a modern hotel. The elevator (which was a requirement that first brought to the site) is available only by paging the front desk to bring it up to the room floor. The room was not made up after the first day. In room bath and shower was awkward to say the least. Sorry, I don't usually give bad reviews.

A very quaint and charming place. However, because of its age there were a few little maintenance things that weren't up to what one finds in the newer hotels. Though I must say, the old section craftsmanship isn't something one sees anymore which added to its charm. Needless to say the local ghost did not visit us.

Have stayed here before and enjoyed it. The room this time was not nearly as nice. We were placed next to the stairs which was loud with also a lot of noise from above us. Seemed unnecessary as there weren't a lot of people there this night. Small bathroom with a loudly squeaking door and without a sink which was out in the room.

I loved staying in this haunted castle hotel! The bad was there was no maid service on a two night stay and there was no soap or shampoo to use. We had to ask for soap. The hotel was cool with old pictures and stories from staff though.

It would've been nice to have a continental breakfast included.

The hotel was as expected, old and therefore quirky. For example the bathroom was inside to the bedroom. The second bed was in the main area of the hotel room. So the person sleeping in the main room had to go into the bedroom to use the bathroom. Squeaky old doors woke up the person sleeping in the bedroom when the bathroom was needed by the person in the main room.

The beds were quite comfortable with nice bed linens, but the hotel room was very hot, so we had to open windows because we couldn’t find a way to turn heat down. We could hear every creaky step taken above us and a flagpole outside our room clanked all night as a chain banged against the pole (remember, windows were open to cool the room, in Feb), making sound sleep challenging. The small shower stall was difficult to maneuver in and there was only a tiny shelf below the mirror to place toiletries. Hotel staff were very nice.

The Mexican restaurant located in the hotel served decent food and the staff were nice there too, but entrees were shockingly expensive and the restaurant was very noisy.

If you want to have a unique hotel experience and don’t mind some inconveniences, this hotel will give you some stories to tell. The library off the lobby is beautiful, filled with antiques. It’s also reasonably close to Port Townsend shops and restaurants and the waterfront. If I could’ve given it 3.5 stars I would have. 4 stars for the staff.

The rooms are ok for the winter. I can’t imagine them being very comfortable in the warmer months as there isn’t any climate control other than a small cadet heater. My TV remote didn’t work. The refrigerator didn’t work and had a pool of warm water in the freezer. The staff was nice. They tried to move me but were unable. I was told the manager was going to get a hold of me and they were going to compensate me but never heard anything. Bit of a let down for sure. I paid for a room with working amenities and didn’t get what I paid for.

We had such a fun stay at Manresa Castle. Amber Dawn at the front desk was so friendly and shared all of the castles rich history with us, along with setting us up with taxi cab and restaurant suggestions and information. Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable also.

This hotel is awesome. We loved the feeling of stepping back in time. Our room was very clean and we had a wonderful view of the water and marina. There was a coffee maker and refrigerator.
We enjoyed the pictures on the wall, showing the history of Port Townsend.
Highly recommend staying here!

Excellent. We booked a Girls weekend in the room with four double beds. It was amazing.
The room temp was easy controlled. Plenty of clean towels in the bright and spacious bathroom, lots of hot water.
Has a good size fridge with big dining table.
Seating area was comfortable.
The beds were extremely comfortable, and I have back issues. It felt like I sunk into a cloud, but firm at the same time.
There was some spirit activity with in the room, but not much.

The hotel is old but has been updated. The main thing I look for in a hotel is a good, comfortable bed, and I found the beds to be satisfactory. Better pillows would be a nice addition. The rooms were clean, although a thorough shampooing of the carpets could enhance their appearance.

We stayed on the first floor, and at times, there was some noise from people in the halls. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

Came the day after halloween, was told it would be a little bit before we could check in at 4 pm. We finally got checked in at 6. Not a good start to a mini vacation. Lounge was not a good experience either. Over priced food for reheated queso and chips. Wifes drink had no orange or pineapple juice in it all sour mix and was nasty. Room was good just not a good start.

I screwed up with dates and made reservation via Expedia for the wrong day. No refund of course. If I’d made reservations directly with the inn, they would have adjusted dates to cover my error. Lesson learned: don’t use Expedia, book directly with the inn.

We stayed at inn a day later and it’s a very interesting refurbished old mansion. Difficult with luggage, not handicap-friendly.

Cool and interesting place with lots of history. The room was clean and comfortable. The ceiling fan and small room fan were appreciated, but an iron would have been nice. My only complaint was that you could hear everything, which is to be expected in an older building. The upstairs neighbor throwing things and stomping around at 2am was brutal though. Wouldn't recommend for people who have difficulty with stairs.

Great stay at an old heritage Hotel. The facilities could use a little freshening up but however is saying that this is a building that is over 100 years old and that in itself made it a very cool place to stay. Staff was very good and accomodating and took the time to fill us in on the history of the building. a little bit away from town but great views of the bay. Great little BBQ joint two blocks away, doesnt look like much but the food was great. I would recommend this hotel.

Customer service when checking in was wonderful! Lots of history was provided which we enjoyed. This was our second time staying and both times the bar and restaurant were closed, which was a bummer. We specifically booked again to enjoy their little bar that we’d seen through windows. The property is beautiful but you can hear everything inside and outside, which made sleeping difficult. We most likely won’t return after two visits.

Great check in, staff member was very nice and helpful. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom was uncomfortably warm, sun coming in very large bathroom window at 7am made it extremely hot in there. Bathroom outlet wouldn’t power hair straightener.
We loved the charm of hotel overall, especially the lovely woodwork. Would stay again but not in summer due to lack of air conditioning.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating and am thankful for their service. I was disappointed in the condition of the hotel. I stay here many times in the mid-1980s and the condition of the hotel was much nicer. From the outdoor grounds not being taken care of to the carpets in the hallways and common areas that seem dirty, never shampooed, or vacuumed. Many scuff marks on hallway and stairway walls. It just seems like the owner is draining money off the hotel and not putting it back into the hotel to make it a rewarding destination stay.

Just felt run down. The Mexican restaurant in the building was meh, service was meh. Felt like the neighborhood dive that could be amazing but wasn't. It served it's purpose as a place to stay for a few days and nothing was horrific, but probably will stay somewhere else next time.

It would have been nice to know that the lounge and restaurant were closed sundays, The bar was one of the things I was most looking forward to esp as it was also closed the last time I was in town.

Also we stayed sun night and Monday is apparently garbage day and from like 7am-9am it was super loud and pretty awful.

They could do such a better job making this a cool place. I was pretty disappointed. Won’t stay again.

This was a unique opportunity to stay in a castle. There are a lot of stairs. However, Amber, at the front desk made the whole stay wonderful. She took us up with a 1920 original elevator with our luggage. The castle has claims of paranormal activity but, we did not experience anything unusual. We had a window looking out at the harbor which was a welcome sight to wake up to. There is a bar and restaurant in house but we went to explore the town and ate at Sirens which was wonderful and had a karaoke night.

The building is a charming European-style hotel that was originally a mansion built by one of the town's founders. Over the past decades, it has been extensively remodeled while retaining its charm. One of the former owners installed bathrooms in each room. Prior to that, each floor had communal bathrooms.

We had a West-facing room that had a view of a State office building and strip mall. the East-facing rooms have panoramic views of town and the headwaters of the Salish Sea.

Our room had no air conditioning, but it wasn't needed. While the room was comfortable, be aware that the hotel does not meet current ADA standards. There are lots of stairs leading up to the entrances and the upper floors (a staff-operated elevator serves the first and second floors) and the bathrooms are small.

The hotel sits on a steep hill about 1 1/2 miles West of downtown Port Townsend. If you're a walker, you will get a workout.
