Our group of 9 adults (from USA) had a wonderful stay at Hotel Columbia over the Christmas holiday. From the moment I made our reservations last fall, the front desk staff was responsive and helpful in planning dinner reservations and offering all sorts of advice for first-time visitors. One we arrived, they were ready with a smile and a \"buongiorno\" or \"buonasera\" whenever we passed by the front desk.

The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes from the Rome Termini (trains, buses, etc) which was important to us. It is also 15-30 minutes walking distance from most major attractions.

The property is clean and we found it charming. The rooms are small, but functional and clean. Some of us upgraded to a Superior room which gave us more space. The bathrooms were the only downside - they are small, and the tub is very narrow which made it challenging for some of the larger men in our group. Breakfast was consistently excellent - a wonderful array of healthy options and a smile from the ladies who served.

The 5th floor outdoor patio and inside area became our living room for the duration of the trip. We were all able to gather for an aperol spritz (or two), a game of cards, or to watch the birds on the outdoor patio. Without this space, it would have been hard to have everyone together without going out to a restaurant or cafe.

We would definitely recommend Hotel Columbia for your stay in Rome, and thank all of the staff for treating us so well!

We stayed at Hotel Columbia for 4 nights with our 14 year old son.
Don't judge by the basic decor, fab hotel. Staff where super friendly, really went over and above. It was our sons birthday whilst we where there, the hotel gave him a little birthday card and free drink for the 3 of us. Lovely, thoughtful touch.
Breakfast was basic but good choice, fresh made cappuccino every morning.
Beautiful roof terrace, where we had drinks to watch the NYE fireworks.
Hotel is in a real good location 20-30 min walk from all the main attractions. 5 min walk from the train ststion.
Lots of restaurants around the hotel, right next door to the opera house.
Rooms where basic but clean, comfy and quiet. Very friendly, welcoming, homely, traditional hotel

This hotel is very dated; the rooms, bedding, chandeliers, even towels look like they are from 1975. There was no air conditioning but you could not open windows because there were no screens, leaving the room stuffy and airless. Our room had at multiple mosquitoes in it even though we did not open windows. The hotel staff offered to spray bug spray, which would have landed all over the pillows and bedding we needed to sleep on. We declined. We then found different bugs crawling on the ceiling. Even though the front desk staff offered to give us a different room, we left and found accommodations elsewhere for the night. The only good thing about this hotel was the staff, who were nice and tried to be helpful.

A beautiful hotel in a great location in Rome.
The staff is very friendly, cheerful, professional, and attentive to their guests. Douinia,Nazli and Anke I hope I am spelling their names right!

In the morning, a varied breakfast is served on a terrace on the 5th floor.
On this same rooftop, you can enjoy a cocktail or other drink in a pleasant setting.
The persons serving you are very friendly, smiling, yet discreet.Morning and night
Everything is in place for a pleasant time on a sunny evening.
I highly recommend this place ,the staff even wrote us a letter because it was our second stay and acknowledge the couple with us with a glass of bubbly on the rooftop. And added the hotel instructions in French for them Also gave us a small bag with breakfast so we will not leave with an empty stomach we were leaving before the breakfast was open.Beautiful attention .Wonderful. I hope the owner of the hotel realize that all his staff is wonderful and how lucky to have wonderful peoples at his hotel.

Better than I thought when I walked up to it. Outside is a bit dirty but the area is actually pretty nice with 3 & 4 star hotels and an opera house right next door! Only 4 blocks from the station which is pretty trashy, so I didn’t expect it to be this nice. The hotel itself is fine - a good place to stay and breakfast.

Loved the roof terrace, great breakfasts and reasonably priced drinks for your evening drink. Lots of choice and places to eat nearby. So close to the train station but felt safe.
Advice - book a superior room . Well worth it .
Only thing was a little off putting was the Reception area with an ancient stone door frame as decoration next to a rather dated sofa and footstool.
Look beyond this as this hotel was a welcome place to stay in Rome. Would definitely return and recommend. Thank you.

This hotel made our stay in Rome incredible. The beds were clean and the staff hospitable. It is a few minutes walk from the Reppublica metro station and Roma Termini metro station. Even though it is a three star hotel, at least it has free breakfast in the morning which had a respectable array of fruit, dairy products, and sliced smoked meat, as well as lots of biscuits and breads. I really enjoyed my stay here, and thought that this was the perfect hotel for us. There is air conditioning and each room has its own bathroom. Also there is a laundry service but it’s quite expensive compared to the laundromat down the road (13 euros at the laundromat for my friend’s carryon sized amount of laundry). Thank you Hotel Columbia for making my Rome stay so fantastic!

Everything was good. Staff was professional and helpful. At check out, because we were leaving so early, a packed breakfast was given to us to us to take with us. That was a very nice gesture that was greatly appreciated. The location is a comfortably close distance from the Rona Termini station. It’s right across from a mini mart and several good restaurants right across the street. Beds were clean and comfortable, internet connection good, and room and beds were clean. My only recommendation would be to pay more attention to cleaning the tub walls and shower curtain. This wouldn’t stop me from staying here again but it would defintely make me give even high ratings.
