The location is great. Close to the buses and train terminal. The customer service lack some manners. Also, when we booked through Expedia, it says that we have to pay some amount on the property but we didn't know that we should carry cash. No card payment was on the service desk. We had to use our debit card on ATM that we were not comfortable.
We asked for tour buses but no proper information was given. That's why we got a Green hop on and hop of bus that was not a great experience anyways.

Other than that very clean. The bed has some noise and the lift is so old. We were lucky that we were on first floor so didn't use it.

Very friendly staff. Very nice room. Everything was as expected or even better.
Excellent stay for the price paid and a very convenient location close to the railway station and walking distance from all tourist attractions and from the bus station to take the bus to Vatican. We actually stayed twice in the same hotel during the same trip. The staff was very nice to us and happy to see us again. :)

I had stay before around Rome termini and out of all areas have stayed this is THE best area I can recommend. It feels safe, is super walkable to all areas, busses stops, trains and food around. I walked until very night and I didn’t feel unsafe at all. In other areas around termini this never happened, so extra point for this area. The staff is ok, straight to the point and that’s it, rooms are good and clean and with A/C even in the halls walking to your room there is A/C working 24/7 and I appreciate that, mostly in summer season. Recommend this place

Great location

We had a great stay at Hotel Cambridge. We were only 3 blocks from the Rome Termini station which included a Metro station. They had a small elevator which is unusual for small hotels and was very much appreciated. The front desk recommended a restaurant close by that was amazing. We went again the next night.

The hotel reception was on the second floor. But the room was on a separate floor, with other “hotels” in the building. Elevator up was dingy, essentially a service elevator. Upstairs hall looked like an old factory hallway. Room was smallish, spartan, with no wall decorations whatsoever. Although Rome has become quite expensive this year, I felt value for money was poor in this case.

We had a late check in and everything was good. The next day we left the tag to have the room cleaned up and in the evening we found the room uncleaned. It was raining so we had used most the towels and they weren’t replaced. After a brief conversation with the receptionist he said not to leave the tag for cleaning and it may confuse the cleaning staff. He was kind and handed us some clean towels.

Next day we left the room without any tags and saw the cleaning staff on our way out and asked her to clean the room and advised the front desk staff as well. Assuming all will be ok this time we came back to uncleaned room again and this was very disappointing as it was still raining and we were drenched and needed some dry towels to dry ourselves. All the wet/ dirty towels were all there in the room which created a musty smell. Plus, the soap dispenser had run out of soap so all this time we had no soap or shampoo for use. Luckily we had our own.

Good value, but needs an update

The hotel was OK, but be aware that the pictures posted on their website are very optimistic and in reality it was a lot more tired. It also advertises things like a hotel bar which didn't seem to exist - there was a small communal area downstairs which was pretty grotty.

Pros:
+ Good value
+ Clean
+ Staff were generally friendly
+ Well situated
+ My room was quiet
+ Wifi was stable

Cons:
- Very tired and outdated
- They require you to hand your key into reception whenever you leave the hotel, this was mandatory
- Room was quite dark, chair was uncomfortable and there was a funny smell in the room too
- Curtain was more netting than a curtain
- Aircon was rather lacklustre, although was the height of summer so to be fair it had quite a job!

In all, the hotel does the job but it's not the sort of place you want to spend much time in (but Rome is great & plenty to see, so your not going to be in the hotel much anyway). Personally, I wouldn't stay here again - I think there are nicer hotels in Rome at a similar price point

The Cambridge is one of MANY hotels in the Termini area. It is located just three blocks from Termini, making the location very convenient. The staff is EXCELLENT. If you are unfamiliar with European hotels you will be shocked by how small the rooms are; that is common. But the room was clean and functional.

This was a lovely place to stay, very close to all the local attractions in the area.

The bed was not very comfortable and this effected the much needed sleep following the amount of daily walking.
Issue with the door lock in our room which created minor problems - when informed staff, they seemed to be mad about it.

Very nice people at the front desk. Good sized single room with a good sized bathroom. Had AC system. Wifi worked great. Short walk from train station so easy to get to, convenient location. Bed was hard. Tricky getting comfortable water temperature. Had a room facing the small courtyard, looked very dirty, not a pleasant view so I kept the window closed.

Nice looking old hotel. Simple accomodations. Slightly odd, and at first confusing, double door system to get to room, which required two keys. Excellent staff, speaking Italian and English. Efficient cleaning crew kept everything clean. No window views. Conveniently located near Roma Termini train and Metro station. Several very nice restaurants nearby. Great little convenience store across the street. Room included small refrigerator to keep your water cold. Spotty WiFi and really good air conditioning. Old narrow elevator.

The hotel is in a good location from the train station and the staff was very friendly. The room was small and did not have the most amenities but was very clean and comfortable.

Check in and out were very easy and there was an elevator.

I would recommend Hotel Cambridge for anyone looking to stay close to the station in Rome.

We have used this hotel annually for the last five years.It's conveniently near to Termini station,and does the basics well.Although th he better rooms need to be chosen,as the cheapest rooms are too basic.There is no free WiFi,but that doesn'bother us.Breakfast is good enough although limited to cereals,croissants,bread rolls fruit,yoghurt,cheeses,and tea or coffee,and fruit juices.The staff are always helpful and pleasant.The location may not be perfect for some,but suits our needs well.

Room was very small - mostly the bed but there was an armoire and desk but it was tight. It was clean and comfortable. It had a full sized tub. You aren't allowed to take your room key out of the hotel. I misunderstood that and they weren't happy. You do have to pay the city tax in Euros - no credit card. Good selection of things to eat in the morning. Not far from Termini Station and in a mostly hotel area with lots of food choices all around.

Nice hotel at a good location

I flew in for a conference and was looking for a simple hotel at a good location. This hotel is a 3 minute walk from Termini station, rooms are rather small, but we are in the city and the bathroom was rather specious (w/ a tub). Staff was rather friendly. Breakfast was nice although its served only from 7:30 so I got it only once during my stay. All and all, great hotel if you are traveling alone and need a simple hotel at a great location with a good price.

Consider this hotel only if you are spending more time roaming outside, it's a budget hotel and don't expect too many amenities.
But breakfast was decent and the price.
The receptionist was cold and not very helpful in the morning but night one old man receptionist was good and helped us.

Not a 3 star hotel, more like 1 star

I do not recommend this hotel at all. Not worth more than €50/night. It's super dated, staff isn't very professional, and it has subpar core amenities.

Wifi: What wifi? In room wifi doesn't consistently stay connected, often won't connect, and has a very faint signal.

Beds: There is no comforter on the beds at all. There's a very thin fleece throw. The beds also are loud and sink-in upon sitting. Not comfortable. Feels like a camping cot.

Bathroom: It has terrible plumbing. The plumbing wouldn't be that big of an issue if there was a shower stall or tub to contain the water. Since neither exist water covers the entire floor when showering, making it very messy.

Lighting: Dark room and there's nothing the hotel offers to brighten it up. Feels like a dungeon or basement.

General quality: The hotel is advertised as a three star hotel and I don't believe it fits that designation. Issues with the wifi, beds, and bathroom (core tenets of a solid hotel stay) drive down rating significantly.

Location: Faitly close to Termini, not not close to major attractions. Not heavily populated with great restaurants or shops either. I'm general, not a lovely area for natives or tourists.

Cambridge Hotel has friendly staff, who were helpful.The room was a good size,The breakfast was good.This was our second stay at this hotel,everything was fine,although our previous room was quieter and nicer.The noise at night from the air con. equipment on the outside walls was the only minus, plus the the bath/shower was high to get into,and the shower head was difficult to control.

I would definitely stay there again. The only thing I didn't care for was the extra firm beds and the room was hot but we opened the window since we were on the second floor. Great hotel:)

Decent, clean hotel for budget conscious travelers. Close to Termini made it convenient. We were a bit disappointed with the curtness and rigidness of the night staff. We were a group that had 8 rooms rented of which two had temperature control problems that staff weren't willing to acknowledge. 2 other rooms inexplicably were designed with the sink actually on top of the toilet as if one were sitting for a meal at a kitchen table. Meanwhile enough room was left for a fully grown rhinoceros to use the bidet. Overall it was a decent stay but probably not among our first choices next time.

The hotel was in a good location however a very very budget hotel. There was no where to plug any electrical appliances in as the only two sockets were either half way up a wall or near the ceiling for the TV. The fridge wasn't plugged and if I did plug it in the extended cable had to run across the bedroom to the only available socket unless I climbed on a chair to unplug TV! The breakfast was poor. There was a broken drain pipe outside bedroom so when it rained I was serenaded by gushing water. The bedroom I had been put in was adapted for a disabled person tucked down the back of the hotel. The bedroom looked as though it had been furnished with furniture from a second hand shop. There was no hospitality such as a kettle in the room only two plastic cups. Very basic accommodation.

The hotel was rated as 3 star, no idea why.The room itself was tiny,The bath was about half the normal size. The wifi was ok for a mobile phone but useless for my laptop, meaning I couldn't use Skype/tv/games etc.
The breakfast was very sparse but the service was excellent.
The elevator could hold 2 people and 1 small suitcase.
It is a fair distance to termini with dozens of hotels closer and easier to reach if walking is an issue.
The staff were friendly and pleasant.

Very convenient, excellent value

I checked in late into the hotel but this was not a problem at all, staff very friendly. I had booked a single room, but was actually given a spacious room with a double bed. \"View\" was of the internal courtyard but it was dark outside anyway so any decent view would have been lost on me, room was very quiet. Room was slightly dated, but for the money it was excellent and very, very clean. Decent hot shower. Breakfast was continental and better than expected for the price. Great, convenient location and was pleasantly surprised by the high standard given the very reasonable price in this expensive city.
