This hotel is a 5-minute walk to either the bus or train stations in Bolzano. Very convenient, modern facility. It is a sister company to the Park Hotel, so we were able to use their lovely outdoor pool, which was a 2-minute walk away. Breakfast buffet was excellent, and the staff was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel in an easily walkable area. Quiet and safe for this single traveler. Walk to train station as well. Restaurants and shopping right outside the door. The rooms were spotless and well appointed. Breakfast was easy and delicious. Front desk staff was not super friendly day/night but nothing horrible, just not really welcoming or helpful. Focused on other things. Claimed they were short staffed? I would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it.

A great hotel in the heart of Bolzano. My first stay at this particular property, I stayed further away from the centre before. The area is nice, good restaurants, grocery and other shopping. My room was upgraded and I got a huge room with a terrace and a jacuzzi tub. All amenities in the room were great and plenty. Parking was convenient and not too expensive.

However, this is not the place to stay if you have a problem with stairs. Our room was on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator but it did not go to our level.
Breakfast is included and it is wonderful! Lots of fresh fruit and baked goods, cured meats and cheeses. You can even make a mimosa!

We stayed 2 nights in a room with stairs up to the bedroom. Our air conditioner did not work which we reported to the front desk after the first night. The second night it still was not working and it was super uncomfortable and hot so both nights with little sleep. The stairs down from the bedroom loft were so noisy that it was impossible to not wake up your partner if you had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or up early the next morning.Seating in the room was not overly comfortable as well. Great location and the staff were very nice. The problem was probably just our room which was 304.

Excellent location on historic square with parking garage. Our room was on top floor and bedroom in the loft. Only one tiny little window in lower section and zero airflow or way to cool room as a/c wasn't permitted to be turned on yet according to front desk staff. Floor lamp didn't work, and one bedside light wouldn't stay on. Had to request a fan to cool off the place and kinda funny that it only came with a 4 foot cord so couldn't put it near the small window to blow in the cooler air. Otherwise a nice hotel.

Built in the 1500’s this place has been modernized for comfort. Beautiful remote area. Wonderful staff running the place. Great views! Quaint little bar on the first floor that offers cocktails and meats and cheeses. Very comfortable large king room. There is a library where one can relax and read or play games.Breakfast was very European with eggs cooked to order. Keep in mind there are stairs and no lift to keep the history alive.This place will forever be imbedded in my heart.

Hotel Greif is a lovely properly. Old town Bolzano is not that large and the hotel is right there off of Walthaplaz. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the train station and 7 minutes to the bus station-they are adjacent to one another. There are plenty of great restaurants just steps away.

The rooms are a decent size for Europe-with bathrobes and slippers in the room. The room was clean and quiet with a tea and coffee maker in the room along with tea and cofee.

Breakfast was a selection of cereals, fruit, choice of eggs made to order, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, some vegetables and desserts.

I would easily stay here again. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. You will not be disappointed should you chose to book this property.

Absolutely stunning hotel and room. My double was on the top floor overlooking the iconic Bolzano square and even featured a baby-grand piano. Everything was spotless and stylish. There was an initial wobble with my reservation between Expedia and the hotel but the front desk was eventually able to sort it out. Some rooms are up a flight of stairs so those with mobility issues should double check with the hotel before finalizing the booking.

A very nice hotel with a very spacious, clean room. Breakfast was also lovely and I was able to leave luggage with them before and after check out while I explored the city. I also love its downtown location.

My one caveat is that I was put in room 212 which was supposedly on the second floor. However, it actually entailed taking the elevator to the second floor, going down six stairs, then up eight stairs, entering into a different part of the hotel and climbing another 18 stairs. While the payoff was a great room, it was a bit of a hassle hauling luggage up and down. That said, most rooms were much more accessible. I think I got this room because it was one of the last available.

Great location on the main square of Bolzano, albeit the bells from the Cathedral might keep you awake at night. The breakfast was excellent with great local produce and nice service. I liked the gym as well which was very well-equipped for a small European hotel. The hotel had a couple of free bikes which I used to tour the city, and their reception staff were very nice.

On the other hand, I was placed in a top-floor room which was a slightly odd layout with the bed on a mezzanine level reaching into the attic roof. The room had only a sky-light and a small window; I found it a bit odd and the living area wasn't laid out in a conducive way to sit and relax. Also, the heating was quite fierce. I found the room very hot and dry and had to have the skylight open during the night as the hot air gets trapped in the roof where the bed is.

Fantastic hotel

Hotel Greif was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed. We were there to visit family member in hospital and the staff at the hotel were extremely kind, helpful and thoughtful. Our rooms were excellent, comfortable and a really good size with quality furnishings. The hotel is centrally located and public transport very easily accessed. We would fully recommend this hotel.

Less than 5 minutes from the railway station on the main square, within easy walking distance from the Ritter Seilbahn and Bolzano's museums. The staff were lovely and Claudia particularly helpful in confirming how travel around Mt Ritter by bus. I was upgraded to a superior room with a mezzanine. My only quibble was the lighting system. All the lights came on when you entered the room and it took some time to work out how to turn the unnecessary lights off. Breakfast was more than generous. Each night the bed was turned down with a complimentary chocolate.

Its location is excellent as in the beautiful center of Bolzano, Italy . The hotel staff went out of their way to help us by finding a rental car and identifying the best route for our two side trip. The breakfastS with many choices . Our room was always clean. They also helped us with dinner options. When we had trouble with our departures train tickets, the manager had a staff member go with us to the station so to correct the scheduling problem. The breakfast was delicious with many choices!

Boutique Hotel in the heart of old town Bolzano

A very nice boutique hotel in the heart of Bolzano's old town. The same people that own this hotel also own the Parklaurin Hotel which is an exceptional \"Grand Dame\". The Greif is a little quirky, but very good with an exceptional breakfast buffet. My own complaint is the bed was a platform bed, so therefore no box spring, so I found it a little uncomfortable.

One of the nicest hotel shops on our Italy trip

We had a wonderful stay, the staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast was great and the room was big, clean and comfortable. The location is great although it sometimes got noisy at night from the restaurant patrons down at the piazza.

Superb hotel in Bolsano!

Perfect in every way. Staff friendly and helpful, fabulous breakfast, lovely roof top lounge. Pool in garden area. Very well located. All 33 rooms designed by a different artist. You could not do better than this.

Hotel Greif

What a delightful choice. No only is the hotel within walking distance from the train station, it is centrally located to most of downtown Bolzano- Bozen. Cafes and shopping are steps away.

The rooms were designed by a Viennese architect with intuitive luggage and storage considerations.

The staff is gracious, eager to help with suggestions, alternatives, and planning your activities. An excellent hair salon is across the street. The full breakfast buffet is extensive and contained things I have not heard of before; coffee and eggs are made when ordered. The bartender at the outdoor terrace bar can fix anything you order. Dinner suggestions were excellent.

The Lauren is the \"sister\" Hotel across the street, andhas a restaurant, another outdoor bar and a beautiful garden to stroll through at your leisure.

I will definitely at the Greif again! You should, too!

Excellent hotel in a beautiful city.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Stayed in two different rooms on separate check-ins and both were beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was one of the best we had in our three weeks in Europe. Enjoyed the central location, underground parking and the high quality. Staff was especially nice. A great experience!

Center of square with lots of shops and restaurant

We loved this hotel. It was very clean with lots of storage space. Parking is $19 Euros for 24 hrs. We did not stay long enough to see the city.
