Wonderful in every way
Absokutely wonderful in every way imaginable. Jo has a beautiful guest house withnelegabt, clean, comfy rooms, and is very friendlyband keen to help if you need anything. Highly recommend and i will be going back, i cant wait!

Extremely disappointed
Outside of the building was very scruffy and dirty as was the entrance which was full of boxes and advertising leaflets. The stair carpets and hallway ways need a deep clean and hand rails could do with scraping off and re varnishing. The room was so small i kept knocking into the corner of the bed when i walked pass as there was a chair there and no where else to put it. The cleanliness of the room was poor too, the kettle was dirty a lot if things in the room felt tacky. There were marks on the duvet cover, black mould around the bottom of the shower, the radiator in the bathroom was dirty and rusty. There was a fan in the room that was full of dust also. The floor in the bathroom had a large dark mark on it. Coat hook broken on the back of the entrance door, the bathroom towels had bleach marks on them

Quiet, relaxing break
A pleasant few nights, very quiet and in a good location close to the beach and town centre. The hosts were friendly and happy to mind our luggage for a few hours both before and after our stay (train strikes meant we had to travel down earlier than expected). Would definitely stay there again.

Me and my miss arrived around 3am and there was a drunk guy in the hall way just inside the first door stood by the keys and when asked him to move so we could get to our room he refused and was being argumentative and was appearing aggressive so we had no choice but to leave and couldn’t get into the room I paid for

Lovely, tidy, well maintained property. Stayed in room 1 for 4 nights which was a double ensuite. Smelt fresh and clean yhroughout property. The temperature in room and breakfast room was owrfect for me and it was nice that the window opened fully as opposed to part way. Free breakfast was perfect and nothing too much trouble. Short walk to seafront and harvester both approx 100 yrds away if that. VUE cinema aleo in same locality. Def book agaib if i return to paignton

Jacaranda guest house is comfortable and clean. Jo and Carl are very welcoming and the breakfast if excellent. Very extensive choice on menu. Fruit bowls fresh and fill a whole cereal bowl! Generous portions.
Single en-suite room is fine. Very nice fresh coffee bag (proper one, not instant) and hot chocolate on room tray with tea bags etc.
Very good value guest house with nice room touches.

Travelling with two children. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. They've clearly gone to a lot of trouble to make the stay relaxing despite the covid restrictions.
The room was spotless, great shower, telly and bunks for the kids. We all slept really well and I actually had to wake up the kids one morning which is unheard of!
The hotel is perfectly situated, across the road from the main beach and the play park as well as the train station, harbour and other amenities, so really easy to entertain ourselves and travel around the coast to explore.
Breakfast is very good, lots of choice including a delicious and refreshing fresh fruit salad and caters for vegetarian / intolerance including veggie sausage, dairy free butter and milk.
Due to Covid we had to order breakfast the day before but it was no hardship and the kids enjoyed having the choice to build their own breakfast.
The hotel is close to supermarkets if you want to make picnics.
Travelling with kids can be tricky, Jo and Carl treated my kids like any other guests which the kids really appreciated.
Two happy children makes for a relaxed mum! All in all a great trip.

Very nice welcome, nice room (if slightly chilly to my taste), fluffy towels, decent ensuite, all clean and very nicely set out. Parking on-street around the B&B was a bit haphazard but there's a large multistorey 100m away if you're stuck. Breakfast is amazing.

We booked a short notice short break with our grand-daughter and stayed at the Jacaranda. The double bed mattress was uncomfortable, but very clean and with fresh bed linen. The bedroom, shower-room and dining room is very clean. Breakfast choices are excellent and with good portion sizes. Staff are extremely helpful, approachable and extremely welcoming.

The hotel was fine, although it is more a guest house than a hotel I would say. I guessed this beforehand however, mainly from the price. There follows a more detailed review and although it does mention some negatives, please do take away that generally it was an adequate place to stay, and was about what I expected for the fairly low price.
The owners were very pleasant towards me. The set breakfast time is very narrow and late if you're there on anything other than holiday (which I suspect mainly people are given the location, in peak season, although I stayed off peak) - 8.30-9am. However, they were willing to accomodate a request for an earlier breakfast, which actually everybody staying at the time also wanted (breakfast at about 7.30am).
The location is great for the seafront. Parking out of season when I went was free on street, though I suspect it is not as easy in season. I found a space on the street, but there certainly wasn't an abundance of free spaces.
The room was clean. The daily servicing was a bit odd, in that they clearly did go in to the room as the curtains were opened, but the bed wasn't made (and this would have taken about 10 seconds given it was a duvet and fitted sheet). I think all the room servicing consisted of was opening the curtains. I had the \"private bathroom\" room, which meant a shower room and toilet down the corridor - I did expect a non-attached bathroom, but didn't expect it to be so far away - running past about 3-4

Our family of five stayed at the Jacaranda for three nights, our son, daughter-in-law and grandson shared a family room, my husband and I shared a double room, both had en suite The location was perfect as it is close to the sea and the train station. There are plenty of restaurants close by and there was a fair and a circus on the green for entertainment. The couple owning the hotel were very welcoming and friendly, they love steam trains which was perfect for my husband and grandson. The breakfast each morning was very good.
