Breakfast on the beach was wonderful and the pools were amazing although there’s no. NO shade on any of the pools between 8am and 7 pm. The walk into town along the beach after sunset is great but don’t expect food like Georgetown or Taiping it’s very touristy and backpackery

Lovely large clean room , plenty of large bottled drinking water in room as well as fridge, kettle, hairdryer and iron . Plenty of cupboard / hanging space etc . Check-in was a total joke. We sat there for an hour (after check-in time) waiting for them to sort passports and paperwork and had to chase constantly.

Pelagi resort is an excellent choice for Langkawi. The position in front of the beach and the proximity to Cenang’s activities.Room, pools, gym and general communal areas are great. Staff is impeccable- polite and efficient. Food is very good but not amazing though although breakfast buffet is extensive in variety. Definitely we would come back should we visit Langkawi again.

3rd time here, spread over 34 years. It's a wonderful place. Perfect location on the quiet end of a white-sandy gorgeous beach, looking out to islands. Staff are amazing. So friendly. Resort immaculate. Breakfasts and facilities wonderful. Upgraded rooms look brighter and more modern than I remember. And you're a short walk from main strip, very cheap dinners and shopping. Only a couple of things stopped me from a 5* review - a cockroach in my bathroom. Yikes. And some loud Russians who were oblivious to other guests, would arrive around 1pm at the swim up bar, laughing and shouting and ruining the sublime atmosphere. I could also hear them shouting drunkenly after 11pm one night stumbling back to their rooms. Apart from those 2 things, a perfect stay. Sunsets every night over the Andaman Sea - incredible. If you like palm trees, as I do, you'll love it here...

This hotel is not a “new, polished” establishment. The buildings are traditional, rustic wood and the gardens are simple. But, the rooms are lovely, the AC works incredibly well, the pool is huge and very instagramable and the restaurants are a good quality and reasonably priced. And the beach is absolutely perfect! If you can do so, splurge for the Seaview Room King (and ask for a ground floor room in building no.7 which is not far from the restaurants and the big pool, plus you get a nice private terrace looking directly at the beach, with steps straight down for a quick dip). I can’t wait to go back!

Both the Spice Market restaurant and the Pelangi Grill were beautiful and reasonably priced. The only issue we had was the number of mosquitoes in our room i had atleast 20 bites despite spraying my room and having the aircon on etc. Understand it is the season for it but it was difficult to sleep comfortably.

Thank god for the other staff members who compensated for the other lot. Yousuf and a lady (forgeting her name) at this place were awesome - smiling and ready to help as and when required.

The concierge were very helpful booking activities. Cons: isolated property with no place to eat off property. The restaurants aren’t good especially the Spice Market. We had mixed luck with the Grill. One night was great and the next was poor service and food was just ok. Overall we enjoyed our time there. Hopefully they will up their game for the restaurants.

Beautiful sea view room. Great location within walking distance to the town. 15 minutes from the airport which we were concerned at first about as we hardly noticed the planes flying over. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that we arrived at midday and check in is at 3pm however the hotel should note the flight times and perhaps prioritise the rooms for their arrivals. We did have chase if our room was ready after 3pm so it was a long time to be sitting around in the heat. This would not detract us from using the hotel again as we fully enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Pelang in May 2025 for what we hoped would be a 5 star experience. But it really isn't. The staff are grear but working under no so great conditions!! The owners have really made zero effort to make this a 5 star experience we felt a bit robbed, we spent a fortune for the 4 nights we were there. The rooms were not 5 star!! It needs a upgrade, I feel like I should get a refund! The outside area and pool is really lovely, but there us no air con in the beach facing restaurant and you literally melt as you have your dinner, or birds are flying in!! We raised our concerns with management, but there was nothings they could do, they pacified us with a few snacks on drinks in their vip lounge! All in all not sure we would go back here. Feel sorry for the staff who have to put up aith all the complaints they get!. The developers have just paid zero attention to making this a luxury hotel and just done a few bits here and there to make it look like a luxury hotel for the pictures!! The rooms were basic like a premier inn back in the uk and the ac was filthy and bathroom was awful... would i come again, probably not!!

We stayed at the Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa for 4 nights during late August-early September. For starters, it is a fantastic family-friendly resort and from the moment you drive through the entrance you can immediately tell why it is considered a 5-star hotel. The ambience, the look and the atmosphere are all top-notch. The rooms and grounds are spotless. We stayed in a king bed room and it was huge and very well designed. Plenty of space of our belongings and more! The pool area is perfect for both kids and adults and we loved they had a mini kid's waterpark in the kids pool! The dining options are excellent and caters for every need. The staff deliver exceptional customer service, making our stay feel special. Its beachfront location and close proximity to the international airport make it incredibly convenient. Overall we felt like we were on an amazing holiday. Highly recommend!

We loved staying here, probably only 2 negative things we could comment on were the wait time to get into our room...not sure if normally like that but we got in at around 12.30 and check in was 3...was way after when we got in, I know others were waiting long. After that was amazing. Service, amenities, grounds, position. Other thing was the state of the beach...probably need someone doing a clean up each morning, wouldn't take long. An absolutely beautifully set spa resort, right on the beach front and so near all the local amenities. We had 2 rooms connected to eachother with balconies overlooking one out of the two lakes the property has. The rooms are set as wooden chalets with all the facilities you would have in a moden style hotel. The property has beautiful grounds which makes walking around the grounds a joy. Rooms were cleaned regularly with a change of towels and water bottles top-up. We had a choice of American breakfast or asian style breakfast both set in 2 separate restaurants on the property with plenty of different choices from omelettes, breads, pastries, pancakes, waffles, fresh juices, fresh fruits, local dishes and much much more with a large spread of variety.
The area the property is set is amazing, with water sports set at the beach jet skiing, parasailing, banana boat and more. There were different restaurants, bars, shopping and lots of different things to do.
Me and my partner had afew different treatments at the spa with very professional staff and a beautiful atmosphere.

1st day of arrival it rained in the middle of the night. We woke up and saw the table with our items on were all wet because there was a leak in the roof. Contact front desk and the Duty Manager said they will do something about it, but it never rained as heavily again throughout our stay so we wouldn't know if it got fixed (or the DM actually held the rain back).
3rd day of stay, after the gym session and breakfast, headed back for a shower and found there's no water. Same, contacted front desk... and then we got water... albeit started off brown till clear water was received. Took about an hour.
There's also no shelter path from the carpark (we rented a car) to the main lobby, so 1st 2 days we got soaked trying to get back to the room when it rained.
Other than that... We only had breakfast included so it was pretty normal, both the asian and western options, and each and some of the other... But lack of control meant other guests could walk in on their own, and we have several times where people would sit at our table even after we had left our drinks and food on it to show there's people sitting.
And of cos we understand guests cannot be controlled where they'll push their prams and use the same hands to grab the food without using the tongs or spatulas...
Shower space is large with bathtub, and the changing area is attached to the shower area which is a nice touch.
3rd day of stay, after the gym session and breakfast, headed back for a shower and found there's no water. Same, contacted front desk... and then we got water... albeit started off brown till clear water was received. Took about an hour.
There's also no shelter path from the carpark (we rented a car) to the main lobby, so 1st 2 days we got soaked trying to get back to the room when it rained.
Other than that... We only had breakfast included so it was pretty normal, both the asian and western options, and each and some of the other... But lack of control meant other guests could walk in on their own, and we have several times where people would sit at our table even after we had left our drinks and food on it to show there's people sitting.
And of cos we understand guests cannot be controlled where they'll push their prams and use the same hands to grab the food without using the tongs or spatulas...
Shower space is large with bathtub, and the changing area is attached to the shower area which is a nice touch.

Fantastic stay. Staff have excellent customer service skills, we were greeted with a personalised check in, welcome drink, no queuing. All staff, without exception, from the start to the end of our stay, were friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely overlooking one of the lakes, comfy bed and Rituals toiletries, with bathtub and wet room, and a generous sized balcony to enjoy the view with a tea or a coffee in the morning. The property is immaculately maintained, beautiful gardens and clean, like-new swimming pools.
The food was also faultless- European or Asian options in the two restaurants do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and (really good, espresso Cimbali machines) coffee available anytime.
I would stay with them again.
The only downside is the nearby local beach (Cenang) is not clean or pretty, but for a 20’ ride you can go anywhere in the island - Tanjung Rhu is stunning.

A very pleasant few days at The Pelangi. The resort is spacious with well kept grounds and fantastic pools. Staff are attentive, friendly and helpful, a special shout out for the kindness of Azri at the Cascade Pool. The rooms could perhaps do with a little update, and breakfast was a bit overcrowded at the Pelangi Grill on one of the days, but nothing that spoiled our lovely experience at Pelangi.
