The hotel is older, but the staff and property more than make up for it. The two pools and the beach view from the balcony were breathtaking. Breakfast was free and good. Staff was super helpful (even though we don’t speak Spanish). It’s also in a convenient spot. And they have outdoor cats which were well taken care of!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay there. The brooms were clean. I wish they can give you more variety for breakfast though I will give you one coffee you should be able to get more coffee if you want to love the new swim up bar area that’s a very nice. It’s improved the Property immensely.

I loved this place! The room was a little far and downhill but to me it didn’t matter because as soon as I opened the door to my room I was greeted to a balcony room overlooking a beautiful ocean view! I slept the whole night with the door to the balcony open just to hear the waves crashing! The pools were perfect! We order food and drinks! There’s also a lot to explore around the property such as hiking trails and kayaking! And the beach was probably top 5 most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen in my life! A true vacation spot for me! Loved it!

The location is fine if you just want to relax, but you need a car since there’s nothing nearby. The beach is not suitable for swimming due to currents and waves. It’s fairly clean, the bed is comfortable, and there’s a nice sea view from the room. The surroundings could be better maintained—it’s clear the place has potential. The area is quiet. Breakfast is nothing special.

If you’re looking for fancy, this ain’t it. The room was very basic. But it was clean and comfortable. The property is almost 100 years old and is showing its age, but the renovations seem ongoing.

The balcony view is great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool bar wasn’t open most of the time, but we were barely there because there is so much to do nearby.

We will definitely be back!

The staff was very friendly the Hotel was 2 hours from the airport although they did have a very beautiful view walking distance to the beach I will never stay at this hotel again it's very outdated we had to switch rooms three times. It was cats everywhere that the staff fed.

The room is very nice and the view of the ocean was even better. The grounds are well maintained, and I really enjoyed the pools breakfast was included, which we really enjoyed especially the oatmeal which was delicious. The ladies serving us were so nice. Breathtaking views! The pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful it is. The rooms need a little of improvement, but every thing else is just amazing. The balcony in each room has ocean views, palms, mountains , the greenery and the pool! It was amazing to see the sunrise in the morning from our own balcony. The hotel staff was very polite . When I checked out I had left important things in my room and when I called back they had saved everything and were very helpful! The continental breakfast in the morning is included and for us it was just great being able to have breakfast with the amazing ocean views. This hotel is near to a historic place called the Tunel of Guajataca as well as. Our stay was great, and I would highly recommend it! I’m looking forward to staying again!

Tiene una vista espectacular. Podias abrir las puertas de la habitación y escuchar las olas. Totalmente relajante. Si abrias la puerta del balcon y la de entrada tenias ventilación cruzada, un aire acondicionado natural. La infinity pool estaba hermosa. Tiene buenas areas bien bonitas para hacer una boda de encanto.

Es la mezcla de algo sencillo pero muy bonito. Las habitaciones son normales pero la vista es espectacular.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. While the facilities are a bit dated, the rooms are clean; and each room has an oceanfront view. There are 2 pools and direct beach access on the property. What we enjoyed most were the friendly, helpful staff and the laid back vibe of this quiet oasis.

We arrived to Hotel El Guajataca at night. It was NOT what we expected. While the staff were friendly and helpful, upon entering the room it felt dirty and very small. Wires from the small tv were hanging down. Our door to our patio did not even latch closed or lock. The worst part of all was that the extremely small bathroom had mold on the ceiling. It also had a strong smell. Being close to the ocean was great, but in this particular room the sound of the waves pounding the nearby rocks vibrated our room, making it difficult to sleep. Not to mention the bed only had a sheet on it. We found a light fleece blanket in the closet and asked for more from the front desk, which they only had two to offer. No comforter on the bed made for an uncomfortable night.

The only bright side on Night #1 was that the hotel did follow through on flowers fresh fruit to celebrate our anniversary trip (we did pay for this).

Nuestra estancia en este hotel fue muy negativa y decepcionante. Aunque las áreas comunes y el lobby aparentan estar remodeladas, esto solo crea una falsa expectativa, ya que la realidad de las habitaciones es totalmente distinta.

Reservamos la habitación presidencial y el estado en el que se encontraba fue inaceptable. Al entrar, el olor a humedad era intenso, y tenía moho visible en el techo y paredes, manchas negras extendidas, señales claras de filtraciones de agua y acumulación de humedad. Incluso se aprecian bolsas de agua en las paredes, lo que refleja un grave problema de mantenimiento.

El mobiliario estaba viejo y deteriorado. El estado general genera preocupación por la higiene y la salud.
Nada de esto coincide con las fotos promocionales del hotel, lo cual resulta engañoso. Es evidente que la remodelación solo se enfocó en las zonas visibles al público, mientras que las habitaciones, incluso las de mayor precio, fueron completamente descuidadas.

Definitivamente no recomendamos este hotel y no volveríamos a hospedarnos aquí. La relación calidad-precio es inexistente y la experiencia estuvo muy por debajo de lo prometido.

Experiencia 5-estrella. El Hotel tiene un ambiente chevere y tranquilo. Tiene dos piscinas con vistas hacia el mar(una es de 24hrs). El restaurante es bueno con comida y bebidas de calidad(el desayuno incluido con la visita me sorprendió-muy bueno)Los cuartos son cómodos con balcones mirando hacia el mar. Lo único que puedo recomendar es que quizás tengan más actividades en el mismo hotel(kayak rentals, una cancha de pickleball/basquet, Dance Party’s con DJ, etc..)

The room are not in good conditions, mold. The shower 🚿 head water pressure was awful. The toilet didn't flush good. I found a bed bug, which I took it in a napkin to the reception area and asked to be moved. The pool and the area is beautiful. But the hotel need maintenance. I even took a picture of the bed bug..

Was very disappointed with the room I got. Bathroom smelled bad and had a leaking toilet. In need of better towels. On the way to the room the smell coming out of the restaurant was not pleasant. After complaining they gave us a much better room. Breakfast was limited and served for you from the back. I must say that people were nice and the backyard and ocean view and water was very very nice. A good upgrade of the facilities would be a wonderful investment.
