This is our second time traveling to this resort with children. This is a beautiful resort that has all the basics like pools, children’s pool area, and beach/ocean access. The downsides this time around will make us consider other resorts if we are to travel to the DR. The WiFi is weak and turns off often. The hot/warm water doesn’t work in the showers after 10pm. One day we stayed in the room at lunchtime and realized that the a/c stayed off- perhaps reserving a/c usage during the daytime making it too hot to stay in the room. Finally, upon check out, the bell boys never came so we walked with our luggages all the way to the front because they couldn’t keep up with the demand. The food is alright, the buffet has many options. The restaurants were mediocre and hard to book. Overall had a good stay but there’s areas to improve in.

Outdated resort. You get no help even after you tip. Theres no other breakfast or lunch options besides the buffet, restaurants are always booked so you cant even have a normal dinner. Our housekeeper was great- kept the room tidy but the rooms still had a stench of rotten moist due to them being so outdated. Overall I would not recommend or cone here again!

Room could have been cleaner. There was mold on the bed headboard, and I had to request a room change. The hotel internet is very poor unless you get an eSIM, and they also charge extra for wifi, which still wasn’t very functional. Some staff members lacked basic manners, while others were extremely kind and helpful. The resort itself is beautiful, but the service could definitely improve.

We had such a wonderful experience at Princess Tropical Deluxe all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and that warmth continued throughout our entire stay. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile.

The resort itself was beautiful—well maintained grounds, a stunning beach, and plenty of spaces to relax or enjoy activities. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, with everything we needed to feel at home.

There was a great variety of food options, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The restaurants offered a nice mix of cuisines, and the service was consistently excellent.

Overall, it was a relaxing, enjoyable getaway, and we left feeling refreshed and well taken care of. We would absolutely return (this was our second time there) and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a stress-free vacation in Punta Cana.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tropical Deluxe Resort. The property is beautiful, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Yelenny and the the massagist were very helpful and offer a great customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food was solid with good variety at the buffet, and the a la carte restaurants were a nice touch. We really didn’t like the Brazilian Restaurant but Drinks were strong and service at the bars was fast and friendly. The pools and beach were well kept.

Only reasons it’s not 5 stars: dinner reservations were hard to get, and some areas of the resort could use updating. WiFi was spotty in our room.

Overall, great value for an all-inclusive. Would come back and recommend it to friends/family wanting a relaxing getaway without any major issues.

The property it self was very nice and clean. The night entertainment was very nice. Kids club was horrible. We have been to other princess resorts and this one is in the lower end. My wife had food poisoning on the second day there from eating at the snack bar. There was no stuff by the pools or beach you had to go get your drinks yourself and don’t waste your time at the restaurant the buffet was much better. It wasn’t the worst all inclusive resort we been too and definitely not the best. Will not be but.

A must stay resort! I was very impressed with the property. Absolutely beautiful place. The staff was were always so friendly everywhere you went on the property. Rooms were always clean. Food was actually very good! No complaints. One minor issue, when we arrived to our room we realized our phone did not work....unfortunately we had to go to reception desk every single day to ask for a new phone. Receptionist always called someone and they would send a guy to fix it the next day..Never did. Went the whole week without a working phone. The night before our departure we had to physically make a reservation for luggage pickup in the morning. Thankfully the 2 workers came that morning to retrieve our luggage.
Overall, our experience was lovely. We will definetly come back to this resort

The property is absolutely beautiful.
The views were amazing. The wild life are well taken care of.

Some of the staff you can tell do not like tourist.
We had to fight to get the right amount of towels for our room.
The food is VERY basic.
The restaurants are small and will not let you in if you miss your time.
The hustle of the people is respected but they will haunt you down and will not let you enjoy your quality time with family.

Resort quality met my expectations with 3 pools, onsite beach access with several built-in beach cabanas, plentiful bars, and restaurants.

Kids have a good play area. Kids club is drop off and pick up only. No scheduled or day long activities outside of a handful of events.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet is solid. Kids had lots of good options and they tried new food. Buffet does get repetitive after 5-6 days though.

Location is far away from any real walkable area. If we go back to the DR, I recommend a different hotel if you want to leave the resort area.

Rooms are decent though had some maintenance issues with TVs and toilets. A dated resort but still has good quality staff.

Family resort but definitely lacked entertainment and the dancing contests are not kid friendly! Beach was gorgeous and clean and definitely one of the highlights. Food was mediocre at best and very hard to get a reservation at the restaurants. I don’t see my family and I returning to this resort.

There is not enough space for me and my family to write about everything and anything that was wrong from the minute we checked in to time of departure and during our stay! The only reason I have not given a 1 star is because one of the managers tried her best to remediate some of the issues but the issues still persisted!

We have been to the Dominican Republic many times and this has been the most terrible experience. From unfriendly and unprepared staff, poor quality food, to lack of proper room cleaning and necessities. Dirty tables at the restaurant and if one gets there close to closing time, thee are very limited items to eat. The most shocking of all was the staff. Terrible attitude, we felt as if we were bothering them just by being there.
We will never return to this resort and we will ensure that we spread the word about the terrible quality of what we have experienced so no one can go through what we went through.

The staff was nice and polite, the resort grounds and the pool was great, the room was not so, the air conditioner didn’t work so it was super hot in our room, when we went to use the phone in the room to call the front desk to let them know about the AC the phone didn’t work lol, the shower door handle was broken , the tv remote didn’t work it was just a lot, we went to the front desk the next day to tell them about all the things that was wrong, they said that someone will come to fix it, we were there for 5 days and nothing ever got fixed.

There were activities for all ages. There is way too much walking to get from one spot to another. I think it's unnecessarily spaced out. They do have a shuttle, but waiting for that every time you want to eat, go to your room, or pool can be time-consuming or annoying. etc. The property Jacuzzi wasn't heated, and the water had foamy yellow crap floating in it. The pool was dirty as well, with green algae or something in it. Our concierge kind of finessed us of some time because he signed us up for a presentation in order to get commission on bringing customers to a time share selling pitch in the resort which required us to have lunch and spend hours upon hours being explained in detail about a time share that they wouldn't tell us the price to until about 3 hours in eventhough we asked numerous times. So we wasted some vacation time on that. The 24-hour bar is cool, and the staff and bartenders are the BEST staff I've ever experienced at a resort so far. BUT THE FOOD IS NOT GOOD THERE!!!! It is unapologetically bad, to the point where we knew to watch people's reactions when they came in, ordered, and took a first bite of their food. The toilets in the rooms are not in a full bathroom; The room is set up like a studio with two stalls, one stall being the toilet, and the other being a shower. The toilet stall is so small that you cannot close the door while you're on the toilet doing your business. So you MUST be comfy with whoever you come with.

The facility was beautiful but it was lacking cleanliness. The rooms we stayed at wasn’t clean. It was dusty and found some hair. The pillows smelled funky. The room service was everyday but they only fold the bedsheets and take out garbages, they don’t re-sweep the floor, or if they do, it was done poorly. They also don’t clean them on consistent times of the every day so there were times we came back later in the afternoon and they were still cleaning. Some of the dining staff took a while to get water/coffee refills. Food was good but if you stay there for a while the food is almost all the same everyday.

I recently stayed at Tropical Hotel in Punta Cana, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.

The biggest issue was the air conditioning. It was not working properly in my room, and even after requesting a room change, the problem continued. This made the stay extremely uncomfortable.

Additionally, the food quality was poor. The banquet options were very limited, and the menu was repetitive — it felt like the same meals were being served every day, with little variety or freshness. And nor WiFi even when I paid $12 more

The amenities were just okay, nothing special or worth highlighting. Overall, the hotel did not meet my expectations at all.

I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

The dining staff in the Platinum Outside dining room was excellent. Adargisa and her team: Flor, Jhoan and the others were exemplary. The buffet food however has to be revamped! The rice was hard everyday, most dishes were bland in flavor and they serve the same thing everyday. The Brazilian restaurant was not good and the Dominican Restaurant El Pilon needs to serve “real” traditional dishes, and of importance they must stop pouring sauces on traditional dishes. Dominicans nor Latinos eat Mofongo with white cheese sauce or fish with pink sauce - those were not traditional dishes. Nevertheless the resort is beautiful, staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and make sure you have a good time at the pool, the beach, the shows or at the lobby in the evenings. If they address the food issue it will be a perfect resort!

What they don’t tell you about this “all inclusive” offer when you book, is that there’s a vip all inclusive option for more money when you book at the hotel. This is the actual all-inclusive experience. The all inclusive option that’s booked on Expedia is not really all inclusive. The restaurants can only be booked and reserved after check-in, but the issue is most of the options are already taken when you check in. We made reservations for restaurants just to be told at the restaurant that there weren’t reservations. After going to guest services, they told us it was a system glitch. At the time there were no available options for food, no apology, and no rectification.
Some of the staff are nice, but most of them have an attitude and don’t seem like they want to work.

Our rooms balcony door was broken thus affecting the AC ability to work.

Personally, I love the DR however, I would not stay here the next time I visit.

Very clean room and facilities everywhere. All of the staff were amazing, with the exception of the concierge who were horribly annoying and trying to get you to sit in on presentations. The grounds were impeccable and tons of animal life: peacocks, flamingos, ducks, turtles, fish, iguanas. Foam pool parties, entertainment every night at the theater, archery and dart competitions, outdoor giant chess set. There was tons to do that wasn't just pool or beach. The swim up bar was great, and all the food at the buffet was really good! You can tell that the staff enjoy working there because they are all really pleasant and always helpful.

This is a beautiful property, the gardens are well kept and is perfect for an evening stroll or morning walk/jog. All the rooms are walking distance to the beach. The beach is clean the sand is clean. They have machines that clean the sand early in the morning. The are multiple pool areas with many many lounge chairs. The beach has lots of chairs and umbrellas. They have a buffet area near the pool and the beach that it is excellent to eat and go straight to the beach. I absolutely will come back here. The staff is amazing very respectful, and kind. One thing i will just mention is that the room is clean, but it can use a bit of upgrading. The buffet has a great variety of food, fruits, desserts, ice cream. Each night the buffet has a theme for example one night is France, other night is Spain they showcase the gastronomy of that Country.
From Punta cana airport is only 30 minute drive.
I will definitely come back here.

The beach was beautiful, they have an adults only rooftop in property, three pools, one of them with a bar, the activities were really nice.

Too much bad too list. Most of the staff is rude rooms not what you pay for. Musky smell and small for what they charge. Pools and beach is nice. Carry enough singles to tip and you will get a better treatment other than that everything we tried was no. No towels hard to get. You have to jump thru hoops to get reservations at the restaurant and food is so-so. If you go stick to the Japanese hibachi style. They’re getting two stars for the pools and drinks. Everything else not worth it.

The grounds were well cared for, public restrooms were clean. None of the food bothered our stomachs. Dinner reservations were easy enough to set up with guest services fot the week. Trams were easy to get for making our way around the resort. Towels were hard to come by though. James with the activities team assisted us with getting towels. We made friends with a few of the wait staff. The only real downside was that our air conditioning was on the fritz in our room and while the staff did come in and clean, our bedding/pillows were damp and smelled of mildew.

1. Room - so spacious, clean, and wonderful.
2. Food - if you don’t eat pork, it may be difficult because there is a lot of it, and they use the same equipment/grill to cook both, but still many options to choose from in the buffet (buffet was the best place to eat!) the Resturant’s are not my favorite but to each its own.
3. Beach - OMG, to die for. I would come back just for the beach. It was amazing, the waves were amazing, the temperature was amazing. Tip - if you get there early and “reserve” your chair with a towel, you’ll get a good seat. Many people are early birds, and I watched people struggle finding chairs after 9:30-10AM..

The resort offers a stunning impression, but lacks the 5 star experience.

We booked a \"Superior Room\", but were given a tiny room with two single beds, no balcony or window, a broken AC, a broken fridge. We requested a room change, and luckily they accommodated our request and moved us to a more spacious room with a double bed and a balcony; the fridge was broken in this room too, and although we complained, nothing was done. The shower room and toilet featured glass doors, which offered no privacy. Poor room insulation, you could hear everything. We were frequently woken up by the sound of screaming children and even had a neighbor’s child repeatedly trying to open the locked connecting door at 1AM. Not great general cleanliness and poor amenities.

The \"Sunbed Competition\". Unless you wake up at 6AM to claim a sunbed with a towel, you will not find a chair at the pool or the beach. It is frustrating to see empty sunbeds reserved for hours without anyone using them while you have nowhere to sit. The beach was neglected and covered in algae that was poorly cleared once, making the oceanfront almost unusable.

The buffet quality is poor. Don't have high expectations for the onsite restaurants too.

Most staff speak very little English, which leads to confusion. We often received conflicting information depending on who we asked. While some staff were enthusiastic, others were outright rude. The animation provided great entertainment both at the pool/beach and the theatre

The food was soooo bad, literally never experienced anything like it at a resort. Like the meals and options themselves kind of looked thrown together. Even just classic Dominican or American food would have been better.

Also there was no hot water in the showers. The drink options were very limited, couldn’t get a mule or a cosmo. And the ambience was just kind of boring because it was an older crowd.

Also there was BARELY WiFi.

Overall we really liked the resort. We had a great and relaxing time.
Pro’s:
- buffett breakfast / lunch / dinner - great and tasty selection, clean, not boring.
- lots of fruits, vegetables, salads, even green juice mornings
- pools
- beachfront
- activities
-there is a kids and a teens club for our children
- gym
- a lot of animals at the resort
- evening shows are very professional we especially liked the circus and the Michael Jackson show!
Con’s:
- majority of the staff does not speak English, so communication was hard sometimes.
- bars next to the pools offer only alcohol or sugary beverages.
- parts of the resort would need renovation,
- the level of 5 star doesn’t feel like when you look at the room’s quality.
- ice cream doesn’t taste good
- staff is not friendly,
- be very careful with tour and activity booking, theee are sometimes overpriced and you are not always getting what you are paying for.

The workers were generally friendly. The room was not worthy of a 5-star hotel. The pillowcases smelled sweat when I arrived. I asked for them to be changed, but the bed was redone with the same sheets. The beds had no fitted sheets, which made the mattress appear. This is the first time I've noticed this situation in a hotel.

The quality of the food was not high enough. The meat was always very salty and rubbery. Desserts and breakfast in general are very good. Two out of four people in my group had stomach problems during the trip.

I also recommend booking excursions once in the hotel. When booking with Expedia, communications, changes and cancellations are very difficult to make.

Could not find my reservation. Told me that reservation for some reason was under a different name (not true). Checked me into a room that they said was ready. When opened the door, there were other people's suitcases and belongings. Obviously, I got checked into an occupied room. Had to wait for staff to figure out where they can put me, had to go back to reception (which was not close) with my suitcases and have my room key reprogrammed. Overall, total chaos.

Staff were friendly and helpful. A variety of activities were available throughout the day which made it enjoyable even if not participating. Beach was nice but filled with a lot of seaweed on our first day which to be expected but the staff did a great job cleaning it and was cleared the rest of my trip. Traveled with my family/kids. Was great will definitely return

Resort is good but the rooms are bad. Rooms are small, bathroom and toilet doors don’t have locks and very small. For a family this is not an ideal rooms and resort is full of mosquitos. All our hands and legs turned red by the time we returned from the trip. Food menu doesn’t change much. We ate Pretty much same food for all the 4 days and for vegetarians options are limited.

The hotel is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained. The beach is really nice and relaxing. Be there early if you wanna get a free beach chair. The pools are amazing. A lot of things are amazing about this hotel but the things that are not amazing leads me to leave a low star. The towels are just awful. They’re old. They don’t smell clean and then you hardly get them. There’s three towels for three people that’s supposed to last the whole day when you’re at a beach resort - that’s impossible. You’re taking multiple showers and then you have to use musty smelling towels -when you ask for towels they’re reluctant to give it to you, asking if you already have towels. Some of their staff are nice but like with most places like this it’s doesn’t always seem like one gets good service unless you’re giving a good tip or you’re giving indication that you’re going to tip. there’s also people trying to sell you things - packages, excursions - it can be hectic, especially when you’re there to just relax. The meals at the reserved dinners were underwhelming and not filling except El Pilon. Buffet options were mostly not great

Stayed 7 days with friends and family. Loved the 2 bedroom option for traveling with older kids. Recommend getting up early to get chairs on the beach or pool.
Breakfast was great- our kiddo has an anaphylactic allergy to dairy and we had NO issues!
Lunches were good at either beach buffet or regular buffet
Dinner was good at all the specialty restaurants… loved the Brazilian restaurant as you don’t order they keep just brining food to you!
Recommend brining extra sunscreen bug spray and feminine supplies as they are expensive to buy on property.
Loved the shows and animation team. They put up with A LOT from rude and overly familiar guests… but kept their smiles and we loved them!
Daily soccer matches volleyball and activities kept our kiddo busy when he wanted to be.
Beach vendors were very nice and respectful.
King of the Beach gave us a great deal on parasailing! Great experience!
3 pools kept people spread out - it was a sold out week and at times felt a bit crowded but overall everything was great!!

This is the only review you need to read before you decide to book here. This is not a 5 star resort. My room was so dirty I wish I could post photos for you. Your bed will be hard 100% if you have the family room the kids beds will have no pillows. Also no nice fluffy white blankets. You’ll get an itchy old flannel blanket and you will have to beg for wash cloths or a floor mat. The food is 2/10 like really bad and the entertainment is very mid. A lot of people from Dominican stay here and I’m sure it’s nicer than where they live so they give it great reviews. But this is a 3 star hotel at best. They have people on the beach harassing you to buy things. He said $200 USD for a photo with a bird. Be very careful I bought a bracelet at one price and tapped my card and was charged almost $25 USD more.

Pretty reasonable option for all inclusive. The rooms are pretty new and the resort is properly maintained. Apart from the few minor issues in our room, we didn’t have anything major to report. Food and shows are average, coffee and pastries are really good. Half of the restaurants were closed during our stay and we couldn’t book them. The beach is absolutely amazing, clean and quiet. The resort has absolutely room for improvement but in overall it was a great experience for a family vacation and really good price to quality ratio.

I chose this property based on the reviews and the fact that the facility advertises four restaurants. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.

I stayed for one night only and arrived around 5:00 PM. I was informed that I could only eat at the buffet because restaurant reservations require 24 hours’ notice, even though the restaurants were visibly empty. The buffet food was very poor and far below expectations for a property at this price point.

The room was booked for five people, but when we arrived it was not properly prepared. I requested the extra bed for the 5th guess, which was delivered, but no blankets or pillows were provided. I called housekeeping and was told they would bring them “in a few minutes.” After more than an hour, no one arrived.

I called again and received the same response. Once again, no one came. Eventually, they stopped answering the phone entirely. As a result, we had no blankets or pillows for the kids bed and were forced to sleep four people in the same bed, which is unacceptable.

Considering we paid $500 per night, this level of service, food quality, and lack of basic follow-through is completely unreasonable. This stay did not come close to matching the expectations set by the reviews or the price, and I am seeking appropriate compensation for this experience.
