Avoid, definitely avoid.

Very disappointed.
Booked the hotel but room wasn’t in a hostel 2 floors down. Building is in terrible shape.
Room was not what we booked. Photos are misleading, they show you’ll get a balcony and a certain layout, you don’t.
Room and hotel smelt like an ashtray. No blankets given. Advised them of all the issues, answers given were ridiculous. When asking for a blanket the response was ‘we don’t have blankets, no one asks for blankets but I’ll do you a favour and bring you a duvet cover to use as one.’

Bathroom was shocking. Disgusting. No way of showering either without flooding the bathroom (and no it wasn’t a wet room).
No breakfast was offered or available.

For small money , ok for 1 night , you get what you pay for , the hostel is situated in a disgusting area.. staff were friendly, beds were clean , but it’s not an area I will be visiting again .. but the staff are nice and try their best to help you .. photos on the Expedia website are out of date and misleading

Good price for the facilities in the room and for the location of the property.

Plenty of options to eat within walking distance and very quick and easy to get an Uber.

Very friendly staff, room was clean and spacious. All the basics provided and a few little extras too- I especially liked the touch of the swan towels!

The bed was very comfy and both WiFi & aircon worked well.

Hostel is located on the fifth floor but there is a lift available.

Check in/ check out was easy and room was ready exactly when the check in time stated.

Due to the location there is some traffic noise but this did not impact my sleep.

In contrast to the cleanliness & upkeep of the hostel, the building itself does not have the best signage and is not maintained particularly well maintained e.g rubbish/ building materials left on stairways & landings. This is not the fault of the hostel who have made their section of the building very welcoming.

I did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on this.

First time to Cairo

It was my first time to Egypt (Cairo) and I was looking for places to stay and my friend recommended this place because it was pretty central. I had a huge double room with a balcony. Had a fridge, TV and private shower. The free breakfast was great and the staff helped me out with booking a trip on a Nile cruise. They brought me from the hotel all the way to me seat on the train. Very helpful and lovely stay. Not to mention the snack shack just outside the hotel was handy for late night snacks haha.

There was little more to like than the fact it was somewhere we could store our luggage while looking around. Although a shower would’ve been nice, the amenities were dirty and inhospitable. Gnats, flies, cockroaches and street cats abound.

A Pleasant Surprise in Cairo

We enjoyed our stay at Midtown Hostel very much. We used it as our base to visit Cairo and surrounding area. The location is central, vibrant, and safe (even till very late at night). Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Our room was spacious with high ceilings. The staff was also courterous. They responded to all our requests promptly before and during our stay. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise. We would definitely return to this hostel if we have a chance to visit Cairo in the future.

Comfortable stay

I am visiting Cairo for the first time and this hostel was perfect. The staff is unbelievably nice, the breakfast food is so good, and the rooms are very clean. I don’t think I’ll ever find another hostel this nice! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here :)

If you want to feel like being with family, then this is your place. Everyone tries everything to make this a great stay. Everything is clean und breakfast is made freshly once you are ready to have it! Being in the heart of Cairo the location is excellent to dine out around the corner.

Nice and reasonable priced for short stay.

Nice place to stay for a short visit. They have 2 categories of rooms (old and new --> just book the cheapest category because for the new rooms anyway you will be charged extra as not online yet). Nice breakfast, nice staff. Don't get scared by the building, entrance, other floors of the building (everything is horrible, worn down and dirty). The hostel itself is on the top floor and quite modern and neat. Drawback is smoking in public areas.

ホテルのオーナーは嘘つきです。チェックアウト後に、食べ物をホテルに持ち込む事は禁止している。お金を払えと言われました。従業員は盗人です。犯人は捕まりましたが、盗まれたお金は返ってきませんでした。オーナーにも責任はあるのに、捜査には協力もせず我関せずの態度です。地図の場所にはホテルは存在しません。虚偽です。本当に最低なホテルです。

Excellent staff, feiendly, polite, and even if not all of them speak in enflish, they always tried to help , helpfull staff, the room where i was was so small but for what i paid it is good, bed was clean and no bugs, that is all what i was hoping for. There was only 1 bathroom available, but again, for what i paid, it is ok to wait a little to use the toilet. Breakfast was good tastefull and complete to start the day, it is simple, but again, for what i Paid for, it was more than i Expected. i got sick and one of the guys introduced me to a doctor in the building, i was ok i did not anything but it was nice from them to think and wprry about me . I definetly recomend midtown hostel and i would go back :)

途中、体調を崩した際、オーナーが無償で病院まで付き添ってくれました。カイロ市内は、観光客からお金をとってやろうというエジプト人が多い中、ベッドチップやドライバーチップも受け取らず、一生懸命世話して下さり、カイロにいる間唯一信頼できるよ存在でした。

Hostel simples, porém limpo, cama confortável e banheiro sempre limpo. Fica a 1km da Thair Square, boa localização.
A única reclamação é que não teve café da manhã e minha reserva era com café.

Bom , mas pode melhorar

A aparência da fachada assusta um pouco, mas é um bom lugar . O conforto e a limpeza são ok . O sinal de Wi-Fi poderia melhorar . Peca na questão acústica : infelizmente os quartos isolam muito pouco barulho e você escuta toda a movimentação ao redor.
O café da manhã não é muito bom também .
Mas de modo geral , não foi uma estadia ruim .

Bad luck, bad experience

We had a strange experience as the hotel had water issues,so we were transferred to another hotel called Bella Luna for the night. That hotel was terrible with mold in the rooms and staff smoking inside for example. So while it is not a problem of Midtown hotel itself, they should've checked that the place where they transfered us was at least ok. I have a feeling that the place was cheaper, but we didnt get any refund. Bad luck, but hopefully doesnt happen to others.

Centralt beliggende overnatningssted.

Forventelig standard og komfort niveau, da det er et Hostel. Kølige rum, så behov for varmere tøj end forventet. Det samme jævne morgenmad hver dag, men smagfuldt. Godt med wifi. Ligger helt centralt downtown Kairo, og det er en kæmpe fordel. Transport fra/fra lufthavn er ikke gratis, som mail beskriver den er.

숙소의 위치는 이집트 박물관과 매우 가깝습니다.
이집트 박물관과 걸어서 12분 정도 걸리는데 가볍게 산책하듯 다녀올 수 있습니다. 호스텔은 건물의 5층에 위치해있습니다. 엘리베이터가 있어서 짐이 많더라도 쉽게 이용할 수 있습니다.
직원들은 매우 친절합니다. 제가 3일가량 머무는 동안 저에게 많은 도움을 주었습니다. 제가 룩소르로 가는 기차 티켓을 급하게 구할 때에도 어렵지 않게 티켓을 구해주었습니다. 물론 컭및셙을 좀 많이 받긴 했는데, $110 내고 슬리핑 룸을 이용하는 것 보다는 훨씬 저렴했습니다. 그래도 아쉽긴 하네요. 가능하면 직접 구매하시는 걸 추천드립니다. 그리고 주변 식당이라던지 인근 정보를 많이 알려줍니다. 특히 리셉션에서 근무하는 Noura 라는 친구의 도움을 많이 받았습니다. 기차 시간이 예기치 못한 문제로 인해 늦어졌는데, 지하철 이용부터 기차에 탑승할 때까지 저와 함께 이동하며 도와주었습니다. 큰 비용은 아니지만 급박한 상황에서 지하철 비용과 간식까지 지원해주는 감동 서비스를 보여주었습니다. 갚겠다고 했지만 다음에 자기가 외국에서 어려움에 처하면 누군가가 자기처럼 도와줄거라고 하더라구요. 정말 착하고 친절한 친구였습니다. 지내면서 불편한 점은 딱히 없었습니다. 다만 화장실이 하나라는 점은 조금 아쉬웠네요. 조만간 카이로에서 다시 며칠 묵을 예정인데 다시 이용할 예정입니다. 가성비가 정말 괜찮습니다. 추천..!

Location of this hostel is very nice. Egyptian musium is very close to hostel. Employees are very kind. Especially 'Noura' is very good friend. She let me know a lot of information about Egypt and Cairo like restaurants, attractives and tourism tips. Moreover she helped me to buy the train ticket from Cairo to Luxor. Even she helped me to take a train and bought me some snack and metro ticket. I'm very appriciate to her. She is very kind and friendly. I recommend this hostel.

Es un hotel en la quinta planta de un edificio, no se le puede considerar ni \"hotel\", el ascensor que te lleva hasta arriba no dispone ni de puerta, que un niño se podría caer sin dudar o el ascensor en cualquier momento con los cables colgando, para que baje el ascensor han tenido que gritar desde abajo, la habitación parecía que la habían usado ya, en la \"cocina\" había un niño de poco mas de 12 años y una señora planchando en uno de los pasillos, llegamos allí ni nos preguntaron por la reserva ni nombre ni nada, teníamos todo pagado y nos preguntaron que cuando queríamos pagar, reserve una habitación con balcón y me llevaron a otra se lo dije y nos cambiaron, al llegar a la habitación el balcón parecía caerse a pedazos, te asomabas un poco mas de la cuenta en la barandilla y te caías a la calle. PESIMO! Expedia es una tomadura de pelo, todo lo que ponía en la descripción horrible, no se lo recomiendo a nadie, ni regalándome un mes allí dentro no volvería.

Buen sitio para conocer El Cairo

El hotel está bien para descansar, cercano a sitios turisticos de ElCairo, seguro, limpio. Personal amable. Aún si se presentan problemas ellos se esmeran por solucionarlos.
Pueden organizar tour, taxis, etc.

到着した時にスタッフの方とアジア人の方が料金について言い争っていたので、ヤバイ所なのかと思った。

着いたその日に布団が無くて、
スタッフに聞いたら、隣のベッドにあった使いかけの布団を渡された。
そしてなぜか次の日も自分のベッドに布団は無くて、スタッフに聞いたらまた隣のベッドにあった使いかけを渡された。

それ以外は可もなく不可もなくな対応。

オーバーブッキング

オーバーブッキングで泊まれず。代替えのホテルを提供してくれましたが、オーバーブッキングに関しては悪びれた様子もなく「代替えのホテルはランクアップしてるからラッキーだね」と。同日に他のお客さんでもブッキングが発生してました。それでもエクスペディアでは「空室有り」の表示のまま。また、オーバーブッキングを告知されるまで、色んな理由で長時間待たされる。他のお客さんは、昼頃にチェックインし、荷物をロビーに預け、夕方観光から帰った際にオーバーブッキングを告知されたそうです。ちなみに、朝の時点でオーバーブッキングしてます。

とにかく杜撰。

もしオーバーブッキングなく、ちゃんと泊まれれば良いホテルだと思います。

まだオープンしたてで綺麗

日本人に人気の宿を考えてましたが、清潔さが心配で、こちらのホテルに！結果、大満足です。まだオープンして2カ月とのことと、行き届いた清掃でかなり綺麗！
お湯も安定し、Wi-Fiサクサクでした。
朝ごはんもボリュームあって最高。

私が朝9時頃に宿に着いてしまい、チェックインまで5時間ほどロビーのソファーで過ごしました。
部屋の準備時間かかってごめんねと、お茶を出してくれたり、待たせたから部屋を変えてあげる！とドミからツインに変えてくれました。

ですが、ツインのベッド間隔は狭く、まさかのアラブ人のおじさんとシェアとのことが衝撃的でした。
20代の女性にはサービスになってない。ドミの方が良かった。気まずさ抜群の一晩でした。

スタッフは本当にいい人ばかりです。

フロアは5階ですがエレベーターありました！

Pretty, clean hostel

The Hotel was great! We (me and my Boyfriend) came at the Airport and the Hotel aranged for us free transport to the Hotel. The room was wide and had a great small balcony where we enjoyed the breakfast (included in price). It was very clean and comfortable. The Hotel is located in the center from Cairo and the Metro Station is only 5 min away. The staff was very helpful, they knew good english and were extremly kind.
We deffinetly recomend this Hotel to everyone! It was a pleasure to be their guests!
