The hotel is an amazing example of using space wisely, however you can only access the hot tub with a spa session which is misleading considering it’s listed as an amenity on Hotels.com. There was also no staff at the front desk when we arrived so our illegally parked car was stressful while we waited 10 minutes for someone to check us in and let us know what the parking options were with the hotel. Room decor was very hip and the place had a great vibe.

What a find! Lovely, quirky place with enthusiastic staff. Some parking right there and big underground carpark with EV chargers not too far away.
Right on the river with good access I to town. But we were too tired to leave the building for dinner, and that was great. Superb good choices and every tasted fantastic. Even if you weren't staying here, a great place for a quiet informal.meal.

The Royal Snail is a great boutique hotel on the outskirts of town but very walkable. Free parking outside the property. Rooms were spacious and all staff were happy to help.

Breakfast was good - only cold buffet on display however hot items could be made on request which was great as they were fresh! I really appreciated the omelette and bacon which was cooked for me!

Restaurant was lovely with great food. It was busy with few staff however we never felt like we were neglected and they made sure we had everything we needed. Good selection of wines and specialist gin with many tonic options.

The spa is quite pricey but beautiful, very small but a high standard - treatments need to be booked in advance as external staff cons to do these.

The gym is small and functional (TV was missing from wall when we were there).

The pool is really tiny - it’s a plunge pool more for decoration - would be great to have some big fish in it as not really a functional pool!

The bedrooms are nice with the best mini bar I’ve had for years! Huge super king bed. Beware that some bedrooms have only a glass screen between the bedroom and bathroom with no privacy screen! Ours had a separate bathroom which was fine (6th floor). The TV really needs upgraded in the room - specified SMART TV but wasn’t - usually freebies channels only, no internet to cast devices or watch Netflix etc.

I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely return!

This is a very nice and cosy boutique hôtel close the city center, at the bottom of the famous Citadelle. Rooms are very comfortable (decoration style is bold… you like it or not) and the real cherry on the cake is an excellent and affordable restaurant on site. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It was not my first time there and it won’t be the last.

The air conditioning- if there was any- was certainly not working.
It was very hot and the room never cooled down. The first thing I check when I travel abroad is to be sure the facility has air conditioning. I feel it was false advertising to say this property had air conditioning.
The room was musty.

A fun place to spend a few nights when visiting Namur. The air-conditioning was great in the hot July weather when I visited and my little balcony, which I was not expecting, was a treat.

I often travel solo and take Expedia's recommendation of the suitable room for solo travellers. My room had a single bed which had a comfortable mattress but was a bit on the small side for a 6ft2 man!

My husband and I stayed for 1 night in this hotel in May '21. The location of the hotel is excellent: close to the Citadel and the Meuse river.
The hotel staff is multi-lingual, and very helpful.
We opted for a standard room with a view of the pool at the back of the hotel, because it was bigger and probably quieter than the Deluxe rooms with views of the river at the streetside.
Parking was free,on the street in front of the hotel.
The room had a comfortable double bed,a desk with a minifridge enclosed,1 chair, a red alcove with a seat, a closet with a safe, a see-through shower and a sink with design amenities in the room, a separate toilet, and a small balcony.
There was a flatscreen TV and free WIFI too.
The room was soundproof, quiet and very clean.
The dinner in the hotel was a bit of a disappointment: although the food was very tasty, portions were very small with few accompaniments and the wine was on the expensive side.
Breakfast however was ample and very tasty. We could choose between a sweet or hearty breakfast or we could get a combination of the two (which we did).
On top of that, we could opt for eggs any style, fruit and juice.
As long as there are Covid-restrictions, breakfast is served on a tray in the room at an hour of your choosing. There isn't much space to eat it, though .
One of us could sit on the chair at the desk, the other one had to sit on the bed.
We had a very good stay here, and we will stay here again when we are in Namur.

We'd hoped for a fairly luxurious stay, but had only warm water for the bath on arrival, and despite detailing the problem to the hotel staff little effort was made to rectify the problem, so we still had no hot water on our second and last night. The restaurant menu appeared to provide nothing for vegetarians so we ate elsewhere. The room was small, and most of the floor space was taken up by a table that ran the full width of the bed. Very disappointed.

I was very glad I hadn’t paid over £200 for the room plus £60 for breakfast as the hotel was dirty and in need of refurbishment. We stayed at a Holiday Inn on the trip which only cost £75 which included breakfast and was a far better hotel with friendly staff. It was also immaculate.

Fantastic little hotel! We had a small suite for four people but can imagine that the rooms are just as posh. Strange though that they charged for tea/coffee minibar-style when there was a cattle in the room. Great service and staff but a minus for not being able to fit hotel guests in for dinner in the hotel restaurant and options were few as hotel is located a fair bit outside Namur city centre. We were suggested to go to the bistro at the casino some 300m down the road which was ok, but not what we expected.

There was a smell of toilets that was persistent in the lobby/reception area. I was thankful I hadn’t paid the rack rate for the room - it would have been daylight robbery. As it was I think there is not great value for money at this hotel.

Staff unhelpful, hotel dark & dingy, room needed a good clean. Noisy at night. Not suitable for families. Didn't seem like a 4 star hotel, more like a 2 star hotel. Air con leaked on floor, we complained, didn't get an apology or offer of any compensation. Basically had to stay away for a few hours for them to sort out. Very disappointed!

Good hotel with interesting and good rooms!

Really quite a chic hotel that we probably didn't make the most of. Room was large and comfortable. We were charged for putting a third bed in the room which wasn't made clear when we booked through Hotels.com even though we made it clear we were looking for a room for 3 people, two adults and one child. This should be looked at by the website and hotel. Namur is a nice small city, but probably not as picturesque as other Belgian towns. We didn't do breakfast so can't comment on the food. Good for a stop over.

Hotel is a nice boutique style with large rooms. It is right next to the river offering lovely views. The room is well equipped though a kettle would be useful if they want to cater for British travellers...there is no English Breakfast Tea available at the rather expensive but otherwise well stocked bar.
The hotel is slightly out of town with a 15 to 20 minute walk to the bars and restaurants in the old part of town.
On the downside, the swimming pool is only useful for standing in and is right next to the outside dining area...so children will get diners wet!
The worst part, excentuated by the very hot weather we were experiencing was the defective aircon. Though reported, it wasn’t fixed and made for three very uncomfortable nights.

Beautiful hotel. Luxurious room that was in a perfect state. I would stay in this hotel, but I would avoid the upper floor (I had room 502), because I had the noise of the vans that are probably on the rooftop continuously.
Staff was professional, but not very welcoming, rather cold, which I would not expect in hotel of this price range.
Great restaurant of high level. It was a nice surprise to me (attention for business travelers... If you want to have a quick eat... not possible). Reception in the restaurant was also very cold and not very welcoming (14/12/17)

A decent stay

We stopped over for just one night here on a trip through to Calais. It was very clean, very modern, all the amenities were great and we were very happy with the room. It is a little deceiving when you are sold on things like 200 channels, sauna, etc which then either don't work or you have to pay an extra fee for. For this reason, it is quite overpriced for what you actually get but we were only there as a stop over so it wasn't a huge issue for us. It is a short walk to a lot of restaurants and the local high street shops which was convenient as the restaurant in the hotel is quite pricey. Overall, a good stay for what we needed.

It is a edgy hotel and our room was wonderful. It is a bit of a walk to the town centre for food and shopping. The only real blot on the copy book was a failure to provide an early morning call. They made up for it later when we realised we had left our rail tickets in our room. They scanned them through to us so we could cancel them and buy new ones.

Bit disappointing but did the job

Room ok.\"pool side\" is a stretch as the pool is the round the corner and down stairs. Pool is the size of a deep bath. TV has hundreds of channels in many languages but most don't work, no guide and couldn't find English. 15 minute walk from centre. Parking was free.

We had a pleasant stay at The Royal Snail and liked the design and the atmosphere of the hotel. If ever going to Namur again, we would definitely return.The only thing we liked a little bit less was the glass wall to the shower. Although we're good friends, we don't really need to know each other that well..
A bonus is the hotel bar that belongs to the restaurant which makes great cocktails and serves decent wine. Also the small fitness room is very convenient!

This is a small hotel located along the river about a 10 minute walk from the city center. The hotel is nicely situated and we enjoyed our stay there. They have a small gym there which we enjoyed using. The main problem was the size of the room. It faces the street, and had a very nice view. However it was the size of a postage stamp and it was very hard to maneuver around the bed when we brought in our luggage. The breakfast was nice and reasonably priced. We did enjoy our stay there.

Good location, good staff, poor room design

We were in room 401. The weather was warm but not hot however the 4th floor was baking as soon as you exited the lift. The 'air con' in the room blasted warm ish air and so the room was far too hot. The bathroom / wet room swamped too easily and was too hot for comfort. Air con problem communicated within a few minutes, some assistance offered. Next day, the ongoing issue was highlighted and reception promised to get it fixed. After 3 nights of uncomfortable warmth still no resolution and no tangible help or recompense. The decor in our room was also very 'black' and although well done wasn't to our taste. Dinner (4 course set menu) was delicious and Simon, on the bar, was very good and deserves special mention. Would have scored more if we had had a good night's sleep unfortunately the room temperature was very uncomfortable and although the windows open, there were Mosquitos around which removed that option.

Nice but VERY small

Hotel boutique type. Rooms very well decorated but are WAY too small! Didn't have the place for 2 medium size luggages. We were happy to only stay 1 night otherwise would have driven us crazy. Bathroom probably as big as the room. Breakfast had a great selection to please everyone.

Very clean and comfortable hotel, with nice staff. Didn't get the chance to eat there unfortunately. About a 15 minute walk into town, which was a bit of a pain if getting an early train, or just fancied going out of the hotel for a coffee/drink. nearest bars and restaurants are in Jambes on the other side of the river.

Brilliant boutique hotel in underrated Namur

We had an excellent stay at the Royal Snail. Brilliant design and facilities including sauna and spa. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but the hotel made us a reservation at the fantastic Le Brasserie Francois in Place St Aubain - classic Belgian and French cuisine in a vibrant atmosphere. Our room had wonderful view of River Meuse - only complaint was room slightly cramped for what was highest priced deluxe room.

Great restaurant with a lot little \"Chi Chi\" ideas - great quality and high class style, yet not overdone. And the portions were even big enough to satisfy hungry travellers :-)

Fantastic brand new boutique hotel !!

Fantastic \"boutique\" hotel - we were in fact one of the first guests as the hotel had only been open for a few days! Although we were there with our children, I would also highly recommend this hotel for a romantic break.
As requested, we had adjoining standard rooms which although rather small, were beautifully decorated in warm tones with one bright and quirky wall. One of our rooms opened onto a balcony (with steps down) looking over the small but very funky glass sided pool and sunny courtyard. The bathrooms were very stylish and the showers great. Our room had an electric blackout blind - which together with the dark decor meant that we all slept in later than planned! If I was being picky then I'd suggest they have a tea/coffee tray although we did come back to the rooms after dinner to find complimentary bottles of water which was a nice touch.
Once we had arrived at our next hotel an hour and half away we realised we'd left our passports in the safe in our room at the Royal Snail- however the staff kindly + efficiently overnighted them to our next hotel. Thank you!
To sum up: The hotel is in a great location, overlooking the river and easy walking distance to the citadel and also into the town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel - although wish I'd asked why it's called the Royal Snail!

Une pépite dans le namurois.

Le personnel est à l’écoute à la moindre demande quelle qu’elle soit. Le bar propose des boissons bien variées, et des cocktails bien imaginés, adaptés à toute saison.

Au niveau des chambres, j’apprécie la variété des ambiances toutes différentes ; ça paraît bête, mais accéder à un minibar, une machine à café, c’est fort appréciable.

L’Hôtel est très bien tenu, propre, et propose également une salle de sport bien équipée.

L’accès Wellness comprenant un jacuzzi et même sauna est également un joli petit bijou !

Voyage d’affaires, weekend en amoureux, vous ne serez pas déçus !

Chambre ridiculement petite, une honte de loger des clients dans cette cage à poule. L'hotel gagnerait à supprimer ce type de chambre qui ne reflète pas l'ensemble générales de ce très belle hôtel.

Beware of fraudulent exit charges in this hotel

I asked to do laundry in their own in-house machine and staff agreed to it. I Dropped off my laundry and the hotel manager noticed it and told reception that the machine in question is not for washing customers' laundry, even though laundry room's marked as hotel properties @hotels.com website. The manager decided on his own, without asking us anything, to use them their external premium laundry service, which is available to use using separate order sheet in the room that must be filled out if it is used.

When I later picked up the laundry, they told the cost was exactly the same as room hold. I never got any kind of receipt for the service either. I called hotels.com and they found this weird. Upon exit they told us to pay voluntarily smaller amount or they'll double charge the room hold using Hotels.com \"no show\" hold from my credit card. They did the fraudulent charge and I had to close my credit card in order to do the chargeback claim. The credit card company paid me back the amount and hotel is now in hot water with the credit card company due to fraudulent charge.

I would avoid this hotel as the manager engineers services you did not order and does not give receipt for it and ultimately tries to trick you paying smaller amount which you cannot chargeback if you've voluntarily paid with PIN if you fall into his tricks.

If you sort ratings starting from the worst, you can see the manager is very rude and calls bad ratings liars. They're not. Room was also loud.

Waren enttäuscht….

Bei uns wurde das Beistellbett vergessen trotz Buchung. Wir sind fast sicher, dass das Zimmer überhaupt nicht gereinigt worden ist, da es Brotkrümel im Bett hatte und eine Medikament Tablette auf dem Boden lag. Auch die Kissen rochen irgendwie benutzt- konnten das nicht melden, da wir es spät abends bemerkt haben.
Der Pool ist ein Witz- Fotograohie , keine Ahnung wie sie das hingekriegt haben, aber es ist mehr ein Aquarium 😂 keine 4Sterne….

Je n'ai rien à dire par rapport à l'accueil des réceptionnistes, ça été très bien. Par contre au niveau de la propreté de la chambre c'est à revoir. J'ai signalé aux réceptionnistes mon mécontentement pour les raisons suivantes : qu'il y avait un cendrier avec pleins de mégots ( je suis non fumeur) qu'au niveau du miroir, il y avait une épaisseur de poussière, que le fond du WC n'est pas très propre ( du vinaigre/ javel pourrait le rendre plus propre et brillant) et qu'il y avait des traces au niveau de la vitre qui sépare la chambre et la salle de bain.

Au niveau de l'espace et confort de la chambre c'est parfait.

Pour une première, je suis déçu de cet établissement.
