Room was refreshed daily, some of the linen and towels either had holes/marks but not major issues. Good location but note that taxis and cars cannot access it down the small roads. It's a 3 min walk from the school. The breakfast was nice and offered a selection. It's not a buffet you get what is on offer but it's always well made. Staff were super friendly, reception was sometimes empty and staff spent time in one of the coves but had no impact on my visit.

The Riad Amina was a horrible experience. I suppose they can’t be blamed for the sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom since it’s a really old building in the Medina, but the general lack of repair was bad—mold on the bathroom ceiling, crumbling tiles, worn-out furniture and a dirty rug. The pictures of my “suite” didn’t match the room.
The worst part was the lack of air conditioning. It had an air conditioner, but it only blew hot air. We got there too late the first night to find other accommodations. I let the management know about the issue early in the morning. All day they kept saying they were fixing the issue. At one point in the afternoon a staff member went with me to the room to verify the heat, and agreed that the air conditioner was blowing hot air.
At 11:30pm the repairman actually came but gave up around 12:30am. I slept maybe 4 hours in a room that was around 35 Celsius. In the morning the staff said the repairman would be back. I gave it ‘til noon that day and booked another hotel. When I went to check-out, the guy in the office was confrontational. I just wanted to check-out.
What an awful experience. Lack of sleep will really ruin a vacation. I wasn’t offered any refund or compensation despite checking-out a full 24 hours early.

The hotel was clean and the staff very nice. However, it is poorly maintained, with many things broken in the room, including no working lock on the inside of the door. It was not fixed despite our reporting it. At night we put the coffee table in front of the door. The worst thing was the outside door jamming closed so tightly that we could not open it from the inside and had to knock and call for help from someone to open it from the other side. This happened on several mornings when we had to leave early for day trips. This is a severe safety risk as it would not be possible to escape in the event of a fire. The spa seems to consist of a dirty looking small pool on the roof, which we did not use. The inner courtyard is very pleasant. Overall it is over-priced for what it is and the jammed front door is simply unacceptable.

Charming, friendly riad in a zero-hassle area

We stayed in a standard room at Riad Amina for five nights.

Clearly, the standard room option is not going to offer the height of luxury, but it was adequate for our needs and our budget, with a high ceiling that helped the (air-conditioned) air circulate. Although our standard room was rather small and rather dark, it didn’t bother us as we could sit in the beautiful, shady riad courtyard at any time.

The staff were superb throughout our stay. A special heads up to front desk manager Keltoum, who was endlessly charming and helpful.

Although Riad Amina is some distance from the centre of the Medina at Jemaa el-Fna, this suited us fine. We mostly ate our evening meals at small restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk of the riad.

Before we arrived, we were a little apprehensive that the Medina would be a lot of hassle and we’d constantly be dodging aggressive hawkers and scammers. I can’t speak for the whole Medina, but we never encountered anyone unsavory anywhere in the neighborhood of Riad Amina.

Bellissimo Riad, un po' difficile da trovare ma una volta entrati siamo stati accolti da personale gentilissimo che ci ha aiutato e offerto te alla menta e biscotti nonostante siano state del 23. Camera abbastanza grande, bagno carino e particolare. Unica cosa, la porta della stanza non si chiudeva e quindi abbiamo dovuto mettere il tavolino dietro per tenerla chiusa, ma tanto dovevamo rimanere solo fino alla mattina seguente.

Disappointing. The riad is in dire need of some TLC, the rooms were tiny with plaster crumbling off the walls, wardrobes with no coat hangers, no hair dryer and the shower was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. The water pressure was non existent and the water went between a dribble of cold to a torrent of scalding hot every 20 seconds. The shower gel and shampoo were also so watered down they were useless and I had to go out and buy my own.

Kept finding dead cockroaches in the bathroom too. I’ve stayed in marrakech many times and this is sadly a riad I would not want to return to.

Shame as it’s a good location, the breakfast was fine and the bed was actually very comfortable. They need to spend some serious cash revamping this place though - it was tired, run down and a bit sad.

Terrible Riad in the Medina

I think the Riad has potential, as some of the rooms may be up to standard. However, I was assigned a very small room that was not very comfortable nor in good condition. It was a cold January evening for Marrakech, and the room was quite cold without any heat. Was supposed to stay 2 nights, but had to find another place for the second night. Also, very difficult to find on your own.

The staff were very welcoming and will assist with whatever you need. Marrakesh can be a little daunting. It is buried within the winding passages of Marrakesh although still easy to find once you have your bearings.
A traditional Moroccan breaksfast included and was lovely. The Riad itself is very nice. It was by far not the most expensive Riad in Marrakesh.

We had the suite but peeking into the other rooms they all seemed very nice and comfortable.

Some parts may seem a little worn around the edges but remember how old the buildings are when reading this review. It is by no means a criticism.

We only stayed a couple of days so did not make use of the roof top jacuzzi or the sun loungers but did go up to check it out. There are spacious free to use cabanas on the roof top too.

All in all a wonderfully authentic stay at a reasonable price.

The property itself is beautiful, very well maintained.The staff is excellent and looks after the visitors.

You need to be familiar with how to navigate the narrow streets and make your way to and from the Riad. Marrakesh is an old city and this part of it, Medina is 100's of years old.

So you will find people, bikes etc in thr narrow streets. Its about 3 minutes to the taxi stand.

I will repeat that the property is really nice, staff is good and overall its a good experience.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Riad Amina, and it was a wonderful experience. The riad is incredibly cozy, made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The cleanliness of the establishment is exceptional, the rooftop terrace where the pool is was lovely to lounge on, the location was good and the customer service is fantastic—second to none.

A massive thanks to Fuad, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. His warm hospitality and attentive service made a significant difference and truly enhanced our experience.

While our stay was delightful, we have a few minor suggestions for improvements:
1. A fridge in the room would be a welcome addition, especially considering the warm climate
2. Installing a shower curtain in the bathroom would help prevent water from spilling onto the floor
3. A rail to hang towels after use would add to the convenience
4. A mirror in the bedroom would be a practical enhancement
5. Some small cosmetic updates to the room and bathroom would make the stay even more enjoyable. Specifically, updating the bathtub (ours had rust patches inside) and a little refresh of paint where some of the walls were peeling would be beneficial

Overall, our experience at Riad Amina was exceptional, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The charming ambiance, combined with the top-notch service provided by Fuad and the rest of the staff, made our stay unforgettable. Thank you, Riad Amina, for a wonderful stay!

A Disastrous Disappointment Riad Amina

Security concerns plague this ill-fated location, with reports of crime and suspicious activities in the vicinity leaving guests feeling unsafe and uneasy. The lack of a visible police presence and the absence of well-lit pathways exacerbate the sense of vulnerability, making even a short walk to the nearest convenience store a nerve-wracking ordeal. I have been followed by few strange people. My recent experience at Riad Amina was nothing short of a complete disaster. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by an overwhelming stench that seemed to have taken residence in every nook and cranny of the building. The staff at the front desk were indifferent, to say the least, displaying an appalling lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. The so-called \"complimentary breakfast\" was nothing short of a joke. Stale pastries, lukewarm coffee, and a limited selection of unappealing items left me with no option but to seek sustenance elsewhere. To top it all off, the attitude of the management when I attempted to address my concerns was dismissive and unapologetic. It was clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority for them. My advice: save yourself the headache and choose an alternative accommodation option. This hotel is a nightmare waiting to happen.

Stayed with some friends. Some rooms were small but there is a good range of spaces around the Riad. The rooftop pool is relatively small. However, some of the loungers were stained. Breakfast was fine, although would have preferred a buffet rather than having it brought to the table. I would have no issue with staying here again.

DO NOT BOOK A DOUBLE ROOM! Only book this Riad if you’re going to get a suite because the double room is Tiny!
They give a very small Breakfast. They give some bread and jams with a cake and a tiny pancake (however I did ask them to make an omelette for me and they did with no extra cost)
Some of the staff were friendly and very helpful, while others weren’t. Very noisy inside the room at night with random activities happening outside (cat fights and random people shouting really loud). Overall the stay was just OK, but defo not worth it if you’re booking a double room

This is a small Riad in the outskirts of the old town, although within the walls of the city. Quite hard to find. it's within walking distance to the mail old town area. Our room was extremly loud due to it's site above the reception and hotel entrance area. In addition, the room did not fulfill our expectation, only window at floor bottom, reahing to your stomach.... we therefore left this hotel 1 day earlier than planned. Service is though friendly.... and nice.

The entire staff was so amazing. They became like our family. Everyone genuinely cared about your time at the hotel, how your were from day to day, and your overall Morocco experience. The hotel is very beautiful and the rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily (like the floors are scrubbed down). Tea is served all day and the meals are incredibly delicious (the lamb tagine was so delectable). They help you with directions around the city. They even came to our rescue when we were lost.
I would like to thank the entire staff: Younes, Fatima, the cook, and all the other staff members, including the bread man for making me and my daughter time in Morocco one to remember! We highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

Pros: -good location, less than a half hour walk to the main market
-breakfast is worth it if you get the hotel option with an included breakfast
-overall quite aesthetic, with a nice rooftop terrace and jacuzzi

Cons: -walls are very thin, so you can hear every little thing your neighbors are doing (and they can hear you)
-the locks on the room doors don’t feel sturdy, and you need to leave your key on a wall when you leave the hotel... and the wall is VERY public, so anybody can just grab your key if they feel like it (they claim that it’s left for the maids, but we saw on multiple occasions that the maids have their own keys)
-the prices for the food/drinks don’t reflect the quality thereof — high price for quite mediocre food/drinks
-cleaning staff take ages with cleaning the room and often just make a huge mess and disappear for 30-60 mins at a time
-they charge for the water but fail to tell you about it! They don’t even ask for the room number or anything. They just estimate the amount, which may or may not be right
-upon asking the hotel what police station we should go to in order to file a report against a motorcyclist who hit us and ran at a crosswalk, the staff suggested we rethink our decision, due to the fact that such a report may “ruin that man’s life.” Completely ignoring the fact that he hit us at a CROSSWALK when the light was GREEN for us. And not only that, but he showed NO remorse and hastily fled the scene.

Beautiful little gem

The Riad is a little hidden gem. Beautifully kept with a Jacuzzi on the roof top and a pool too. Very good service and staff are welcoming. The rooms were spaceous and clean albeit basic for the junior suites I booked. Air-conditioning did work well on the day when it was 45 degrees outside. A few things to try - the hamam and massages were amazing. Not cheap at 45 euro but worth it. They also sell beautiful body fragrances. Try the amber one at £20 for 100ml. What is expensive is the food and drinks (London prices). The Riad charges in Euro. So it inflates the costs significantly when compared to eating out. Having said that, it's good quality so no complaints really. Taxi to Medina is about 3 euro so affordable to get out and about.

Most Hospitable Place to Stay

Our five night stay at Riad Amina was fantastic! From the moment we were greeted, we felt very welcomed. Each staff member seemed genuinely happy to see us every day and were so accommodating in every way. With its beautiful courtyard and sumptuous meals, we could not have asked for a more pleasant place to stay. We will treasure our fond memories of Marrakech because of our stay at Riad Amina.

We had two rooms booked. Initially they wanted to put in another building (made as an extension to the building shown in the pics). It smelt like sewage and looked absolutely awful. After having an argument (they tried to cheat us basically) we managed to get rooms in the Riad that we originally saw and booked. The first room wasn't so bad, but the second room (for my parents with kings size bed) was terrible. The bed was a mattress on the floor and one of the sinks was flooded. Everything else was rubbish in the room. I was shocked to how bad the state was. In addition to all of this, the hosts running the hotel were rude and very sneaky. All in all it was a terrible experience mainly because I was very sad to see my parents get treated this way (as a young guy, I can handle problems like this) but seeing my parents go through this was awful. Wouldn't recommend at all! Go to Riad le Jardin A'abdou - much better!

The only issue, which was an issue almost every place we ate in Marrakesh, was the dining service. Just very slow (and we only ate there for breakfast, which was somewhat of a fixed menu).

The Riad is having some renovation so the roof terrace was not really in use - the riad has lost some charm it has been painted magnolia the smaller riad is still in the traditional colour had had so much more charm. The Riad is in the north of the midina and is quite away from any of the main attractions- what the riad does have is lovely staff all ready and willing to help and advise you

beautiful riad stay, was concerned about the safety of the room we were staying in initially as when you closed the door from the inside you could just push it open as it was just a latch. But was not a problem. Breakfast was delicious and varied each day and the service was excellent and they just wanted to please you. It is expected of course around Marrakesh that you tip, almost for everything and everyone. Be careful as it is easy to get carried away tipping as it soon adds up. The spa was a nice excursion, the price not so much. However if you’re willing to pay to have a relaxing holiday then it’s not so much of an issue.

Christmas in Marrakech was wonderful thanks to the staff in this beautiful riad. We were three generations in our 20s, 50s and 80s visiting Morocco for the first time, and loved exploring the nearby medina. The Majorelle gardens were about a half-hour walk away. The on-site hamam is small but the scrub and massage were heaven after a day of walking and dodging scooters. It is at the edge of the medina so you also get a feel for a neighbourhood away from the tourists. We would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Marrakech.

This is a really lovely Riad. The staff members are all wonderful. The food is excellent. The location is great because it’s in the Médina but close to taxis and away from noise. My one recommendation is not to book a guided tour of the city through the Riad. Use visitor instead. I booked a half day guide and it was awful. He raced me through the Bahia palace then insisted on taking me to one shop after another even though I told him I didn’t want to shop. He left me a 15 minute walk from the Riad. He also got more touchy than I was comfortable with so I had to keep my distance from him. Avoid a guide but definitely stay at this Riad which is perfect with wonderful staff and a peaceful environment.

Safe haven in the midst of the (crazy) Medina

Yes, Riad Amina is indeed a safe haven nested in the middle of the Medina. One of the first things you'd realise when you enter the old town of Marrakesh is how frustratingly chaotic it is. Upon stepping into the Riad, you will find yourself transported to a totally different world of peace and quiet. The rooms are neatly decorated and has the unique Moroccan flair that you are looking to find. Food is delicious, although a bit pricey. If you're looking for an adventure in the old city, I will recommend Riad Amina for it is conveniently located with easy access to the souk. Tip: Call the hotel before hand to arrange for someone to pick you up/ show you the way to the Riad to avoid scammers.

In the midst of Marrakech

The Riad Amina has to be the most welcoming place I have ever stayed in. I was not very well and I was looked after like a Queen. From the outside, you saw only a door and when it opened, I saw an Oasis with a beautiful courtyard where we had our superbly cooked and presented meals by the lovely Chef. The Hotel Manageresses were extremely helpful, kind and sincere with arranging everything for us. Even the Security Manager looked after me when I twisted my ankle. Our 10 day holiday was superb in every way and I cannot fault the excellent service and friendliness of the staff at the Riad Amina.

Could not recommend this Riad enough. It is the most wonderful place in the middle of the Medina. The staff cannot do enough for you and are there for you whenever necessary. Truly recommend this beautiful slice of heaven.

La chambre était bien préparée, personnel absolument adorable.
Attention quand vous arrivez à ne pas vous faite suivre pas des personnes qui vous demanderont ensuite de l'argent: il faut toquer à la porte du riad (porte cochère). Les piscines en bas et en haut sont petites (très chaud sur le toit) mais super, l'endroit est magnifique.
Prévoir des boules quies car la ville est animée et la mosquée est tout près.

El patio del riad bonito y relajante. Los camareros atentos y ambles. La habitación normal sin nada que destacar.
El desayuno normal,tipo europeo al que han añadido rghaif.
Cena regular.
El hammam demasiado viejo, necesitaria un poco de reforma hacia frío cuando entre y también en la sala de masaje hacia frío. La masajista amable.
Salí temprano antes del desayuno a las 7:00h por lo que había pedido el día anterior que me prepararán el desayuno para llevar pero se olvidaron. Tu ve que esperar a que el señor que nos llevo al taxi nos pusiera en una bolsa de plástico 2panecillos con mermelada y queso ,2crepes y dos yogures, eso con prisa.
Tuve la sensación que una vez cobrado el dinero en la noche anterior ya dejaron de ser atentos y dejáramos de existir, cosa que todavía no me ha pasado en ningún hotel.
El translado deficiente, estuvimos esperando aproximadamente 20min en el aeropuerto porque no nos esperaba nadie,tuve que llamar al hotel y preguntar por el translado.
Puntos a favor,:el patio muy bonito y relajante, olía a flor de azahar y había pajaritos cantando.
La cama cómoda , los camareros serviciales y atentos, la limpieza buena. El ambiente relajante.

Pour notre première fois à marrakesh, l’accueil dans ce Riad était juste parfait.
Nous avons testé le spa, et c’était tout simplement super. L’accompagnement, la disponibilité et l’écoute du service est irréprochable. Les chambres ont la climatisation, et sont très propres.
