Our check in was very quick however one of the rooms we booked very bad. As soon as we got out of lift on 3rd floor there was two mattresses blocking route to go to room. Entered the room the beds fully blocking any walking space to even get to side of the window and get in bed. Toilet handle broken. No mini fridge in hotel room and no phone to ring downstairs desk. Only good thing is location is close to McDonald's supermarket and Lidl at 3am was a lot of noise outside from people shouting.

Bathroom was dirty, didn't have a toilet brush or anywhere to hang a towel. Room was noisy, had coat hangers but nothing to hang them on, tiny uncomfortable bed (barely a double). Corridors full of clutter. Unfriendly check in experience. 10 Euro charge for storing bags after check out. Only positive is the early check-in and late check-out times.

This is not a spot for everyone and definitely not for the average tourist. The area is an old area with a repurposed building, so it makes sense that the spaces are small. I had a quadruple room for four people. I expected to at least have room to put suicases. The beds were about a foot from the wall so there was nowhere to put luggage and walk in the room. The bathroom space was just big enough to turn around in. You can see where they added new tile and updated the bathroom. The location is close to Gare du Nord and a subway station. A plus was that they offer late check-in, especially since we got to the hotel about 10pm. The hotel staff was attentive. Really, if you are travelling lite through Paris and just need a place to sleep, it's fine for a night. I don't suggest a longer stay.

This hotel is fine if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower, especially with its convenient location near the Metro. It’s ideal if you’ll be out all day and aren’t looking for extras. On the surface, the room looked clean, but on closer inspection, there were neglected areas—dirt, chipped paint, and general wear.

The toilet seat was broken when we arrived and wasn’t fixed despite reporting it. We checked in at 4:30pm—well after the 1pm check-in time—and only realised our room wasn’t ready when we got upstairs and found housekeeping still cleaning. No apology or update was given, and towels didn’t arrive until 2.5 hours after check-in.

The check-in experience felt uncomfortable. Staff barely spoke, didn’t engage, and didn’t make us feel welcome. There was no warmth or hospitality—it felt like we were an inconvenience. There are no real amenities—no breakfast area, no lounge, no in-room tea or coffee. There’s a vending machine in the lobby, but even essentials came at an extra charge.

Overall, if you need a basic, well-located place to crash, it’ll do. But if you’re expecting friendliness, comfort, or attention to detail, this probably isn’t the right choice. It’s a very functional, no-frills experience—just enough, and nothing more.

Excellent location for visitors because all required amenities are very close by. All attractions are easy to commute from this location. Underground train few steps away. Staffs are terrible. In my 3 nights stay, my family members suffered because staff refused to turn on AC. After three times request, 3rd night AC was turned on finally. We slept one night quietly and happily. In the closet, there is no rod for hanging.

Only little rooms so if travelling with extra person with bigger bags doesn’t leave much room to move around. Only thing they need to get on top of is the cockroachs in the room. Has a basic lift to each floor so definitely helped. Public transport was within 100m of the hotel but recommend buying a day ticket as we had few dramas with buying individual tickets as most times need 2 trains and if dont get through the exit gates within certain time your individual 1 expires

There were holes in the ceiling, spiders, live wires, the fire alarm went off at 0430 am and they didn’t check we were okay just sent us back to bed with no explaination.

The room was clean and comfortable. Corridors were a little untidy due to renovations currently being undertaken. The staff were helpful and gladly offered me an early check-in when I arrived directly from my international flight - it was greatly appreciated. Staff were also very helpful when advised that my television was not working./ Staff member immediately came to my room and fixed the problem. Excellent value in a great location. Literally metres away from Metro Line 4 railway station and short walk to Sacre Couer, Montmarte and Moulin Rouge.

The fire and smoke alarm systems were hanging from the ceiling wrapped in plastic so would not work. There was heavy doors waiting to be installed, blocking the lift entrance. I did not stay there on the grounds that ot was not safe and would like a refund.

Perfect base to explore the whole of Paris

I have visited Paris 6 times,and this is the only hotel I have stayed in twice,so I don't understand the terrible reviews. I have stayed in much more expensive places,but this Hotel has everything you need for an excellent price.Yes it is an old building,that is the beauty of Paris,and small rooms are typical of 99% of Parisian hotels. Our room was immaculate,the bedding was fresh and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was compact but had everything we needed, and it was perfectly clean.The shower is excellent too.

As for the area,yes it is very busy due to the line 4 metro, bus and tram stops so conveniently outside,but that is why I love this place. 20 minutes on the metro and you can be visiting Notre Dame or sitting in Le Jardin de Luxembourgh. It is a perfect base to explore the whole of Paris. It may feel a little unsafe if you are a woman walking alone,but I did it several times and had no problem. It is also only a ten minute walk to the beautiful Sacre Coeur basillica, though it will keep you fit walking up there!

The staff were polite and helpful,and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Our only downside was the noise from building work which started very early in the mornings,but we do understand the building and the area are probably all getting prepared for the Olympics.

Bottom line,give this place a chance. If you want the Ritz,book the Ritz, but I prefer to experience Paris the way the locals do.

A good place to stay

I will agree with other reviews that the noise from the outside is a bit much, but not enough to interfere with my sleep. The neighborhood was fine. I had no issues at all and the market across the street was a great option instead of eating at a restaurant all the time. Having the Metro just across the street made sightseeing very easy. Check in/out was very easy and staff were very accommodating. Will definitely stay again when I go back to Paris.

Perfect budget base for exploring Paris

As this was a budget hotel we weren't expecting finery, and on first impressions we were a little dubious. I have been to Paris a good few times and have stayed in more upmarket hotels, but really all you need is a bed and a bathroom and you are good to go. This hotel has narrow winding stairs, but there is a lift in full working order. The room and ensuite shower room was clean and comfortable, realistically how much time do you spend in your room in Paris? The metro line 4 is right outside the hotel, Rue letort has lovely, authentic French and multicultural bars and restaurants, Les Inities and Tibetan kitchen were very nice. It is only a 10 minute walk to the Sacre Coeur, surrounded by beautiful restaurants, shops, bars and the most amazing views of Paris. We will definitely be staying here again, it did all we needed it to do.

DISGUSTING ! Filthy, no natural daylight, window blinds broken so permanently black in room, toilet seat and lid not fixed, television ariel cut and not attached, wardrobe (if you could call it that), not finished and not a hanger in sight, cigarette burn hole on bedspread, picture of red carpet is in the hall outside of the room, cardboard stuffed into power switch. The headboard was split. The radiator was shocking (see photos) looked like it had never been cleaned. The walls are hideously stained. The floor had muddy marks and were in desperate need of mopping. On arrival we were told we were lucky that they had kept the room for us (6pm) Hotels.com told us check in time was up to 11pm. Looking back we should have run then. We paid 108 euros and really feel robbed. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and this reached a new low. We have lots of other photos.

The base is old but the rooms are decent for the price paid. The bathroom is very clean and they change the towels and make the beds every day. The staff is friendly and responsive. The area around the hotel doesn't seem safe, but we haven't had any problems. There is a 24-hour convenience store and fast food restaurants in front of the hotel. Lidl is 50-100 m from the hotel.

Nothing Fancy, But a Good Bargain

Nothing fancy but that's what I was looking for, and it's a good bargain. The paint could use redoing in places, the furniture is a bit worn, but the room and the linens were clean. Fairly calm: the widows are double-paned, so no street noise; conversely, no soundproofing in the walls, so you'll hear your neighbors. The other guests were low key. Located in a diverse, lively, down-to-earth neighborhood — not a tourist destination. Convenient for getting to Charles de Gaulle/Roissy: four stations on métro line 4 and you're at the Gare du Nord for transfer to RER line B with a straight shot to the airport.

Good clean budget base for exploring Paris

Hotel is rated as 1* so I had limited expectations, whilst it is rough around the edges i was pleasantly surprised. Staff were friendly and helpful a particular thanks to Ibrahim who always had a smile and kindly printed boarding passes and called Taxi (official Paris Taxi). Cleaning lady also very nice and thourough at her job. Spacious Bathroom with rainfall shower and piping hot water. Some of other guests a bit noisy and a bit nousy out the front of hotel but all in all a devent budget hotel if you are just looking a convenient base to explore Paris (metro station literally across the syreet) and not planning on spending most of the day in room. All in all a satisfactory experience if you remember it is officially a 1* but service and cleanliness is at least much more . ne last point expect a lot of street peddlars at the Metrobut they werent agressive and didnt bother us.

Worst Hotel of the world

Never ever book any room in this Hotel. I booked for 4 nights but left it on 2nd day and moved to another hotel. Worst property I have ever seen in my life. Never seen such a dirty bathrooms made in less than two square meter area. shower is 2 ft x 2 ft. WC is half under the wash basin, so how to sit on it? All rooms with broken floor. I am now scared to book any hotel on Hotels.com.

Although quite functional, rooms could use a new veneer and somewhat more attention to the condition. WiFi was acceptable. Though the neighbourhood is nothing to write home about, it has all of the amenities and is only a short metro ride from downtown Paris.

The room is very congested.we can not have shower bcz water not down from the shower pot.Sink is tiny we can not use it because if you get water from the sink it come down to the floor.night shift receptionist very rude doesn't have any idea about customer service even thoug he was interrupt trying to stop our friends to visiting us in hotel ! Because there was no AC, we had to open our windows. The area was so noisy, we woke up several times during the night. The hotel is old and smelly, the carpet needs to be replaced. The stair is so small, the hallway is tiny, we worried how to escape in case of fire. We have never seen a shower that small. You would wet the whole bathroom during a shower. The area did not seem safe to walk around. For tourists, we recommend to avoid this area

This hotel is quite cheap because it is at the very limits of the city of Paris. The neighborhood is quite poor and neglected. The hotel itself is pretty run down. The bathroom needed badly to be updated, there was no outlet for a razor or hair dryer, and the shower is made for pint sized customers! The bedroom was clean enough but so small we couldn't open all 3 suitcases at the same time. There was also just one electric outlet available.
The subway station just across the street made it work for us as well the price of 100 euros a night.

It does not deserve even a rating of 1(lowest). I & my family stayed for 1 day and checked out the first thing in the morning. A neighbourhood absolutely not suitable for family. 'Maybe a college student could stay because they look for low cost option. 100euros way too expensive. The lift did not work. The parking agarage lift did not work. The bathroom door could not be locked. The shower curtains were filthy.. the internet reception wasn't there on the 3rd floor. There was continuous smell of oil from frying chicken from the shop below

Now I've stayed in a lot of bad hotels, but this one tops them all. Had to wait outside in the rough neighbourhood for 45 mins for check in (at 8pm) while there was a sign saying \"back in 5 mins\" on the lobby door that was locked. Really hot, no air con or fans. Rowdy outside until about 5am. Dangerous electrics, cold showers, holes in bed sheets and springs sticking out. Good points are it's cheap and close to metro. However, I don't think even the price was worth it.

Its located just outside of the nice areas in a little more of a sketchy area over a fried chicken place.
The rooms were large but incredibly basic. The shower was way too small, every time you tried to turn around it would shut off the water since you had no choice but to hit the tap.

A Cheap Hotel in a Dingy Neighborhood in Paris

The Hotel de la Terrasse was cheap because it was located in a run-down neighborhood in Paris. There were no restaurants of good quality in the neighborhood, and various people in the neighborhood warned me that the area was crime-ridden. The walls of the rooms were paper thin, and I could hear guests in the rooms next door running water in the bathroom and talking at all hours of the night. The bed in my room was lumpy, the television did not work, and the room was generally dingy and poorly equipped. When I told the man at the desk that the television did not work, he said that someone would come to fix it, but no one ever did. I chose the hotel because they only charged eighty-one euros per night, and I found out why their rates were so low.

I booked because it was cheap, and you get what you pay for. The best aspect is that it's very close to Clignacourt metro which is on the end of a line so you get a seat into Paris on their horribly crowded system. For somewhere inexpensive to sleep while you enjoy Paris, it's fine. If you can't put up with tatty no-service, look elsewhere

Location is great since its right by the metro but the Hotel is old and there are a lot of questionable people in the area. A little price for the condition of the hotel but this is Paris...overall would not recommend a lengthy stay. The bathroom situation is also not that great since the bathroom floods during showers.

I had to be convinced when I was looking at the many hotel options in France. I chose this one because of how ridiculously close it was to the metro (line 4). However, the area wasn't very comforting: there were many people just standing around or huddle in a big circle, who I felt were going to jump us at any time. But there were plenty of restaurants (McDonalds!), a grocery store, and local shoppes all nearby. The hotel was relatively clean: The bathroom was immaculate actually, but the bedspreads seemed a little dingy, but the sheets were clean. Very good value for the price we paid--didn't try the breakfast, but it looked pretty basic: rolls, juice, milk.

De la Terrasse - A no go

After visiting the De la Terrasse I can safely say that I will not be recommending it to others, nor staying there again. I found that the service in the hotel was lacklustre, the hotel was being refurbished as we arrived to the point where it was difficult to walk through the entrance of the hotel without standing on broken concrete.

When we arrived to the room the safe didn't work and the staff told us that it couldn't be used. The pillows in the room were soaking wet and none of the staff could speak English.

The wifi reception was ridiculous and didn't have a signal strong enough to work in the room. We had to bring our laptiop/iphones down to reception to use the internet and the computer that the hotel provides also didn't function.

Overall I was very disappointed with this hotel and cannot say that I enjoyed my stay.

L’hôtel en lui même est sale, la chambre s’était passable mais sur les rideaux il y avait des traces blanche, traces cigarette sur le lavabo, poils dans la douche mais SURTOUT, une odeur extrêmement forte de be*h dans la chambre, qui ne partait pas. On a du dormir avec la fenêtre ouverte en plein milieu du mois de décembre. Le quartier est honnêtement a fuir , surtout si vous êtes une femme. Sinon le personnel est sympathique.

Rien ne fonctionnait dans la chambre au delà de l’aspect lugubre et mal entretenu.
À notre arrivée de l’urine se trouvait dans les toilettes, la cuvette était cassée + climatisation et téléviseur en panne.
Aucune proprete et une odeur vraiment déplorable. Nous avions réservé pour deux nuits mais sommes partis le lendemain et avons demandé un remboursement pour la deuxième nuit. Ça ne vaut pas le prix demandé

La chambre était propre mais la porte de la salle de bain en mauvais état et le dessous du lavabo tout rouillé . La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas on ne pouvait pas l’éteindre ou régler la température donc comme il faisait froid on l’a mise sur déshumidificateur. Du coup on a eu très chaland nuit. Literie moyennement confortable. Ça ne vaut pas les 107€ pour une chambre triple. Par contre le personnel est agréable et très bonne localisation à côté le metro
