Couples weekend leisure break in Oslo. The Hotel Bristol location is great (walking distance from central station), a short walk from Main Street and the hotel is faultless. Lovely room, comfy bed, nice bathroom & shower. Lovely breakfast, luxury surroundings. One downside is no ‘international’ TV other than MTV & Nicelodian.

We stayed in a "Business" room, which was fine but a bit tired. The bathroom was small and featured a creative collapsible shower stall. This made it impossible to access the sink while someone was showering. Breakfast was very good. The overall facility could use a renovation, however. One word of caution about parking. It's convenient and well-lit, but the spaces and lanes were made for small cars. It was challenging to get our larger car in and out of spaces.

Especially with cold slippery sidewalks and entrance to the hotel.

I am an avid traveler, and this is easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. In sum, we were offered second rate service with a side of judgment and a hint of dismissiveness, not only by the employees but even by the arrogant guests that filled the halls. In a city as beautiful as Oslo, it was disappointing to say the least to find such ugliness sitting right at the center of it. First and foremost, my husband and I were given a room with construction happening literally right outside our hotel room door in the hallway on the very wall adjacent to our room. It was a unique but definitely unwanted wake up call every morning by banging and drilling on the wall. There was no warning, apology, or even acknowledgement of this occurrence.

Our final night, before we had to wake up at six in the morning for a flight, there was some sort of party happening inside the hotel with music loudly playing right outside our window until at least one in the morning. When we initially complained about the music, the receptionist lied and said the music was not coming from inside the hotel but from across the street, a palpable falsity given how loud and clear the music was and something the receptionist later contradicted when confronted once again a few hours later as the music had not stopped. In fact, we learned the music was coming from an event being hosted on the second floor of the hotel.

Smooth check-in and great service. Rooms are a bit dated and needs an overhaul. No robes in the room which I found strange. Lovely restaurant and impressive breakfast. Beautiful hotel with great location. Love the interior in the common areas. Would stay again if the price is fair.

Our stay at the Hotel Bristol was outstanding. The public spaces are historic and beautiful and our room was well sized and very comfortable. The hotel is located in the center of Oslo making it easy to walk to most sights. The streetcar and metro are nearby if you need to go a little farther. They have an excellent breakfast buffet to ensure you are fueled up for the day.

Hotel Bristol had an absolutely fabulous breakfast though it can be a bit crowded at peak times. Our room was very clean and elegant- the property has a stateliness about it with dark wood and a cozy upper lounge. Very convenient to the tram and easy walk to the train station.

Fantastic hotel, centrally located

We only stayed one night at Hotel Bristol but wish it had been longer. Our room was spacious and clean with all of the amenities you could ask for, including lovely L'Occitane products in the bathroom. We were facing the street which was fine on a Sunday night, but I suspect it could be a bit noisy if a Friday or Saturday night. One small criticism is the pillows - they were so flat and not very comfortable. Recommend asking for a few extra if you are used to a fuller pillow.
The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have had - so much choice and everything tasted incredible. We would love to return one day!

Good location. 15-20 minutes to ferry terminal, central train station, Opera House. Staff is helpful. Ran out of hair conditioner and it was not refilled. A fire alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. and all guests were required to exit the hotel and stand oitside on the sidewalk for 20 minutes

I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Bristol! First of all, it’s a beautiful hotel with interesting history and style. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home at the Hotel Bristol, especially the Concierge, Tarik! Thank you, Tarik!

The hotel is in the heart of Oslo and is close to so many things to see.

The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet.

The breakfast buffet, which was included in my room rate, was amazing! So many good and drink options in a beautiful dining area.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to have lunch or dinner in their restaurant, but from what I saw, the decor and the menu options are first class!

You will love your stay at the Hotel Bristol!

Staying at Hotel Bristol in Oslo feels like stepping into another era, in the best possible way. The hotel’s historic charm and elegant décor make it one of the city’s most atmospheric places to stay. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a grand, old-world ambiance—rich wood paneling, classic chandeliers, and a timeless sophistication that makes it clear why this hotel has been a favorite for decades.

Beyond the aesthetics, the lively atmosphere sets it apart. The hotel is always buzzing, whether it’s guests enjoying the beautiful lounges or locals stopping by for afternoon tea. Despite the constant activity, the staff manage to be both exceptionally friendly and efficient, making sure every guest feels welcome.

Now, for the reasons it didn’t quite earn five stars: The mattresses are on the softer side, which may not be ideal for those who need firmer support. Additionally, our room was quite warm, even with the window open, which made sleeping a little challenging.

That said, the location is excellent. Dining options abound nearby, and many of Oslo’s key sights are within walking distance. The overall experience was delightful, and if the hotel addressed the temperature control issue and mattress firmness, it would be an easy five-star stay.

Would we stay here again? Absolutely. Just be prepared for a warm room and a soft bed—everything else is top-notch.

The bed was poor. A 3” thick mattress that was way too soft. Probably my most uncomfortable sleep for a long time. Some staff were good but as many were poor. You could sit for ever without a member of staff approaching you in breakfast room or dining areas. Despite this the Hotel was a good enough experience.

Staff, location, breakfast all excellent. Room (business)whist functional and bathroom excellent, overall ambiance cold and lacked character. Private functions/parties held on second floor (we were on 5th) kept us awake, with the continual thud thud thud of music. Not what you want, after a long day of travelling or any other day for that matter. Avoid staying during party season, particularly Friday and Saturdays.

The hotel is located in a perfect location to navigate around the city. It is obviously popular with locals as well as guests. I loved the breakfast and the service was excellent!
My only small complaint would be the two single duvets used to cover the king-sized bed. It made sleeping more uncomfortable than it should be.

This is a beautiful hotel! We arrived super early after our flight, about 7:30am, and were prepared to hang out until our room was ready. They ended up getting us a room within thirty minutes! Staff was super kind and friendly, and spoke beautiful English. The room was clean and very comfortable. The only con I can think of is that the towels were up very high. I had to really stretch to reach them, but I’m not even five foot, so I think most people wouldn’t have an issue lol Bed was comfortable, and I have back issues. I had no problems. I liked having a small chair in the room as I could sit and stitch. The area is close to everything…restaurants, shopping, parks, and even the pier (not the pier we came in at though). I use a small collapsible wheelchair to get around the cities and it fit in the elevator. Tight fit, but it made it. If you have a larger wheelchair, I’m not sure it would fit. I did appreciate that there was an elevator and that was a deciding factor in staying there. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This charming hotel is very central and an easy walk to the harbour and other tourist sites. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was excellent in terms of the offerings with a good mix of local dishes. Only complaint was the hot food was only warm at best - the heat lamps did nothing.
The gym was excellent. A good range of cardio equipment and free weights as well as some weight machines.
