Staff was helpful with a good attitude, but our room was v tired and substandard in terms of finish. The building itself is charming, but I suspect the hotel is in need of a good renovation.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Everything was good, although the shower door did not close properly and we had some lady birds in the room the accommodation was excellent.
The food especially the breakfast and dinner was out of this world.
It was an early valentines visit and everything went like a dream.
Thank you. We have decided to plan another visit but during the summer months.

Very disappointed. We booked the restaurant in advance but when we went for dinner it was closed! We wouldn’t have booked this hotel as very inconvenient.

Disappointing last night of holiday

Chose this hotel as last night of holiday special occasion because of the situation with lovely grounds available for our dogs, and advertised gourmet restaurant on Hotels.com. Arrived to find restaurant closed, nearest alternatives Boulogne-sur-Mer or Hardelot, not great with 4 dogs. Staff said closure was on their web site but Hotels.com had not updated. Don't normally check the hotel website when booking through Hotels. Expect details to be accurate. Superior rooms with direct access to grounds were spacious and comfortable but some light bulbs were not working, no shampoo in the dispenser and bath would not empty. A disappointing end to a fantastic 4 week holiday

Pleasant rooms, all with good views of gardens. We visited during a very hot spell, and room could have been pleasant with an aircon unit, but the fan helped. Good breakfast and a lovely garden to walk through. Visited during a time when kitchen was unavailable, so there was no dinner at hotel. But staff recommendation of restaurant in nearby Boulogne was very good.

My husband and I both loved staying here from minute we walked through the front door or even driving through the gates was amazing . Staff so helpful and friendly . The dining experience was amazing at the Najeti Restaurant. Definitely worth a visit . We will be returning in the near future all being well .

Cannot recommend

The staff is not hospitable or accommodating. A bit snotty. The hotel is full of police who are working on the coast. They have taken over the hotel with their meetings and dinners and drinking at night. Not pleasant. Will not recommend.

Beautiful building & lovely garden. Our room was huge & very nice. The staff were very helpful. The reason this is not “excellent”overall is that we were there on a Sunday & the restaurant is closed. That was not a major problem but you do have to drive somewhere for dinner & we’d been in the car all day. We were directed to the nearby coast & it was lovely. But when we returned about 8pm thinking we’d have a drink in the sun in the garden, so the driver could enjoy a drink, the bar was also shut! The receptionist very kindly made us hot drinks but it wasn’t quite the same! We’d return but not on a Sunday ( or a Wednesday when the restaurant is also shut)!

Hidden gem!

This was not our first time here, the hotel looks as if it has been painted. Our room on the first floor was great, bathroom with bath and nice towels. Needs a little TLC around the skirting. Then it would be perfect. Food as always was wonderful with a good breakfast spread, including hot scrambled eggs etc. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Thanks, we will be back.

The outside of the Chateau is lovely we booked a superior room paying extra to find it was under a staircase to the 2nd floor so it was VERY noisy as people went up and down the stairs avoid Room102 spoke to receptionist about this who wasn’t interested at all, he said “that’s unfortunate “
Which is not the reply you expect due to language barrier couldn’t get much further with Him didn’t offer an alternative or anything
Restaurant is ok food very 1980’s in presentation and dated choices I felt it was expensive for what you got

However this last minute one night stay was spoilt by only being told after we had booked (on Expedia) that the restaurant that night was full. Nearest off-site restaurants are a 15 minute plus drive away (not good after an 8 hour drive). Bar snack alternatives were v poor.

Beautiful property, very clean, grounds are stunning, even a hedgehog on our entry to the property. The gentleman at reception was so warm and helpful. Breakfast was really nice. To stay longer, we would need a fridge in room to keep child's milk etc - although I am sure this is available from reception.

Room was nice but window was cracked and not clean.
Gardens looked unloved but could be so beautiful and you can see that they once were. Staff very nice,kind and helpful.

Our room was nicely decorated in keeping with the age of the property and the bed extremely comfortable. We had a wonderfully quiet night’s sleep.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the evening we arrived so we brought a picnic with us and dined alfresco in the beautiful grounds.

Breakfast was very good with a range of food to suit all tastes. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

We were put in annex room not Chateau which was disappointing. We had booked evening meal but received email night before saying they had no chef, on arriving at hotel in room info we noticed the restaurant was never open on a Sunday. We felt it was deceitful to take the advance booking then give us list for places many kilometres away to try. Ended up with KFC rather than chateau experience. Lastly rooms had under floor heating on when it was high 20 degrees outside and reception did not no how to turn it off. Sauna for the night - pretty rubbish really.

The room was cold but when we turned on the radiator it made banging noises all night so very little sleep was had. Room was advertised as having a shower but it was a hand shower connected to the tap over a bath with nowhere to hang it on the wall to have a proper shower. when we asked to move rooms to one with a proper shower the young man on the desk just said 'no'. not at all impressed. the food was nice but very overpriced. restaurant staff were lovely. Would not stay here again

Lovely looking building, nice setting, professional courteous staff but failed to live up to expectations. Plastic 'glasses' in the Stables annex rather than proper glass for drinking water detracted from the feel of the room. Non opening windows (on a very hot evening) and no fan in the room made it very uncomfortable. Breakfast not taken as overpriced - better to visit a local boulangerie! OK for an overnight stay but wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Thought food,service,ambiance all really excellent. We had booked a superior room, but had one of the cottages. Turned out fine, because of the terrace and garden furniture, the whole cottage was a little tired and could do with face lift. However, we did enjoy our stay very much and would consider a return visit.

It was a special treat to stay at this Hotel Chateau Clery after a week of Scouting and staying in a cabin.
Lovely room, but had trouble getting the TV to tune in so turned it off and tried my tablet. We had trouble getting that connected as well!! Don't count on the TV or Internet, just relax!!

Greeted by a delightful receptionist, who showed us to our very smart and immaculate room.

Dining was good, with food well presented. However, the service was a tad rushed. Maybe a slightly inexperienced waiter!

The grounds were beautiful, but could have done with a lot more “tlc”. However, we prefer an immaculate room to an immaculate garden.

Overall, a very pleasant overnight stay.

Nice hotel but a bit old fashioned, so no mod cons as in a modern hotel. In a nice park, so this made up for it.
Stayed in the bungalow part, did not notice any air conditioning which may prove difficult in summer.

One of our several trips per year to stock up on wine & tasty cheeses. We wanted somewhere close to Wimereux as we find that the cafes/bars on the seafront are very enjoyable.
Hotel did not disappoint and the grounds were beautifully laid out. Our room was one of the modern cottages and was large and well equipped. The only fault that I could find was that there was no shower, had to sit in the bath which was impossible for me as I was suffering from a very sore tennis elbow, and the Wifi was not working. Otherwise the room was quiet & comfortable.
Dinner in the conservatory was excellent and the breakfast buffet very good.
Will stay again but need a room with a shower, too many aches and pains to try getting into a bath!

Have stayed at Chareau Clery many times ,but have either been in one of the cottages or a bedroom in the annexes ,my last stay was in the main building.The room was fine and very spacious,however being on the second floor and up a nor row staircase it was not ideal for an over seventies couple.If you do not like narrow staircases please remember to book a lower floor bedroom.
The food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast and served with a \"smile\".

Excellent hotel with pretty grounds

I have stayed here a couple of times, and it is excellent because it is so close to Calais Eurotunnel - about 35-45 minutes - yet it is quiet and secluded and with wonderful gardens and woodland, and set in a small village. It has a good kitchen with good food, an excellent wine list. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff is wonderful, pleasant and helpful.

Fabulous hotel

This is the second time we have stayed in the hotel while we have been en route to the Chunnel. It's a gorgeous hotel with beautiful gardens, really welcoming and friendly staff and lovely bedrooms - the one we stayed in opens out onto the gardens which was great as we had our small dog staying with us. The restaurant is superb with a very high quality menu. I couldn't recommend this hotel more.

An attractive hotel,but needs refurbishment.

This was our third visit to the Hotel Clery.We really thought the place was a little care-worn.The bathroom,looks wonderful,spacious,huge mirrors,lovely shower and a super bath,but the floor of the shower is covered with slatted boards which \"gave\" as you stepped in.Indicating that it needed replacing.The polished tiles on the floor became a positive skating rink when wet.I certainly did not feel safe walking after a shower.A mirror in the bedroom would be helpful,as would a wardrobe in the bedroom instead of near the front door.

The evening meal in the restaurant is good but simple,but the breakfast in the morning was inedible.The bacon was grey and mainly fat,the eggs rubbery.For the price they charge not good value at all.

I am not sure we will stay there again,although it is a perfect stop off after a long car journey,before we return to the UK.

A final holiday treat

An over night stay on the way to the shuttle. Rooms are in the grounds of the chateau but the wonderful evening meal was in the chateau dining room. Lovely grounds, peaceful and helped in our case by warm sunshine. Would stay here again, so much better than being closer to the channel ports and it is only 5 minutes from the autoroute.

A lovely hotel in the French countryside situated in a small village, charming & helpful staff and on this our first visit a complete delight. Our room was a conversion in an outbuilding, fresh, clean & loads of space with it's own little courtyard, table & chairs! If that isn't enough then the restaurant is sublime & the cooking is of the highest order. We hope that not too many people read this review or we will never get to stay here again as the hotel will always be fully booked!

Excellent hotel in peaceful, secluded surroundings

A well-preserved and beautifully kept chateau in classic style, set in secluded grounds.
Enormous, well-furnished room with a bed for BFG. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower, all toiletries and hair dryer. Several wardrobes and bureaux.
Well worth a visit as a stopover, but probably not for a prolonged stay as the surrounding area is not so interesting, apart from the coastal towns, Boulogne, Le Touquet, Wimereux at al.
We stayed for two days and although it is set in a National Park, the area has little to offer beyond that.

An overnight stay before an early morning channel crossing. Decided to spoil ourselves and booked in three weeks in advance. We were upgraded to a lodge, which was far more spacious than the room in the main house, overlooking the park. There was a €20 charge for our dog which we felt was a bit excessive as we had nothing for it. She slept on her own blanket, ate her own food out of her own bowl and was very clean and quiet.
We had a superb dinner with a bottle of white wine and it was a fabulous experience.
It was a bit pricey for a one night stay and won't be something we will make a habit out of, but it was a lovely end to our holiday.

Short break in France

Clery exceeded our expectations. A lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. The restaurant was excellent with delicious food and first class wine. The staff were both friendly and helpful. We used the sauna which made up for the awful weather! Would benefit from having a hot tub or jacuzzi.
We will definitely come here again for a short break. The Najeti group seem to specialise in characterful properties and this hit the target admirably.

Fantastic food, and service. Restaurant was very busy so remember to book. The grounds are stunning and the building very atmospheric. One small improvement would be to provide fluffier towels. I think they were on their last legs.

Very limited choice on restaurant menu

We have stayed many times in this hotel, but were disappointing this time because of the lack of choice on the menu. Apparently during winter, in mid week,they only have a choice of two items per course.

If you are looking forward to eating in the restaurant, I suggest you call up first and ask them whether the full menu will be available.

Convenient hotel close to the Channel Tunnel

We have always enjoyed through many visit, possibly over 20 over the years the hotel and its location, its friendly staff and its comfort , and normally its good cuisine and menu. However this visit we were very disappointed, after a long journey, to find a very restricted menu of a choice of only two starters and two main courses and the a la carte menu had only the same items on it so choice was severely limited. Also the standard of cooking was not up to that to which we were accustomed at the Hotel and we did not finish either of our courses. They were poorly presented and poorly cooked. We were told the chef was not on duty that night....! We will probably seek another hotel next time on our journeys

French Chateau

Very nice but overpriced (both hotel and breakfast cost). Our room was in an annexe, not in the chateau, which was a little disappointing although very nicely appointed. Restaurant was good and staff efficient and friendly.Not too far from channel crossings.
