Arrived after 10, door closed, sign on door said to use automatic checkin machine, but it did not work, no staff visible. Finally found staff & checked in. Also, a lot of noise from other patrons. Not sure if I should have closed my window better, or the noise coming into our room was due to a gap between the door and the frame, letting noise in. Otherwise a simple, efficient, convenient option.

Awful, the key card wasn't working, so we had to go to the reception (at the other hotel) to ask for another one (all happening at 1am in the morning), the duvet cover was burned (from a cigarette I guess), the pillows are not really pillows, and in the bathroom there was 1 toilet paper roll already used.

It did the job for one night.

This place is fine to stay if you are checking in later and leaving early (for example making way to euro tunnel). It is not so comfy and more motel like - all in one bathroom wetroom. Our room was clean but smelt of cigarette smoke (and the blanket had burn holes) which wasn't pleasant. Communal areas in reception had laundry piled up. We arrived at 7pm to do the automatic check in and it said our room wasnt ready however Receptionist was helpful and friendly in advising and sorted us a room.

Value for money - you're not expecting 5* luxury when you book a Premiere Classe. It does what it says on the tin - it's a budget friendly place to rest your head for a night. It's not the cleanest or most modern place to stay, but it's cheap and cheerful!

Beware there are two hotels on-site. The reception booked me into the wrong hotel. I should have been next door in the Premiere Class instead of the Campanile. Albeit they couldn’t find me on their system they checked me in. I was booked in for 2 nights. They made me move to the correct hotel bit said i had to pay for the night i stayed in the wrong hotel. Ended up paying for 3 nights. The Manager who runs both hotels refused to understand and said i had to pay. She wouldn’t give me the Customer Service number, refused to accept responsibility for her staff member checking me into the wrong hotel and i was sent packing. Didn’t stay the second night as the situation was very uncomfortable albeit i was charged for it and the Manager offered me no refund. Shame on Campanile and Premiere Classe. Checked in to B&B Hotels in the end which is streets ahead. Do not stay- building needs updating and stains on duvets. Just a horrible experience overall.

Basic motel within a couple of minutes drive of the autoroute. Friendly staff. Decent bed. Bathroom a bit cramped, but clean. Big TV on the wall. Excellent car park. Supermarket within a 5 minute walk. McDonald’s and another restaurant close by. Very good value for money.

I have stayed at Première Classe hotels in multiple places before, so thought I knew what to expect. Unfortunately, this stay has put me off considering them again.

We arrived after reception hours, which is fine as I knew we would be able to use the automated check-in terminal to get our room keycards. This initially went well.

However, the keycard did not release the bedroom door. In case it was a problem with that particular keycard, I got a second one from the automated terminal. But neither worked. There was a notice by the door for reception stating that for any keycard-related issues, guests should ask at the Campanile next door - but while the man on duty there was pleasant, he said he couldn't help me and had to call up the Première Classe staff member to get assistance before sending me back there. When I did see a PC person she was helpful and sorted the keycards out quickly - but this whole process had taken more than 20 minutes (late at night).

When we got into the bedroom, it was apparent that the room we had been allocated (72) was not in regular use and was not well cared for. There had been a massive spider's web across the doorway, and once inside the room we discovered that there were no towels (I waited until morning to fix this). Unfortunately, all these issues combined to mean our simple 8-9 hour overnight stop lasted more than 10 hours, with not enough actual sleep.

The bed itself was comfortable, although an additional pillow would have helped.

We wanted somewhere to stay for 8 hours or so on a trip further south. It was fiiiiiine however there was an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke in the room.
The sheets were clean. However the blanket had a cigarette burn in it.
It was relatively quiet, but before 10pm lots of people out playing music and smoking on the balconies.
If you have money, I'd stay somewhere else. Otherwise, lower your expectations and you may be delightfilly surprised!

When I pulled in, there were more than a few salty looking guys meandering about the property. Maybe they were just a work crew on the road. There were some work vehicles in the parking lot. The door to my room took some work to get it to close completely, so I could lock the deadbolt. Pulling back the bedspread, the sheets were stained. The pillows were more suited to a little kid than an adult. Very small. The bathroom is hard to describe. It was like an RV bathroom. Not that tiny, but there was no division between the shower and the toilet area. There was a restaurant that was owned by the same company on the property. When I first walked in, it had a strange odor. Not sure what it was. Food was good, though. Overall, for the price, I guess it was ok, at best.

Generally this is budget accommodation so expectations reflect that. The bed was comfortable, which was the most important thing. Unfortunately covered in a number of black hairs and the shower attachments needed a good scrub. The cigarette burns on the sink were off putting.

You get what you pay for. Have stayed here several times. The rooms are always clean. Very basic bed and shower. The only pillow was lumpy and very small. The cover on the bed had a hole and a stain. Breakfast had no fresh fruit, ham or eggs so low carb diet just meant yoghurt! As I said, you get what you pay for...

Third and last time I will stay here. After giving the benefit of the doubt on two previous occasions it appears to have gone worse rather than better, tired old rooms, broken shower this time (surely the cleaners reported this?). The stay was unfortunately marred further by a huge group of very noisy children, arriving at eleven thirty at night and up at around seven am. Coupled with being at the Autoroute end of the building, it was a noisy stay. We got up looking as tired as our room. Hats off to the manageress who had to cope with everything from the checking in at night to the 90 plus breakfasts next morning single handedly!

The room was like a box. With a double bed and a single on top. A small desk in the corner and some shelves for your. THe bathroom was like a bathroom on a ferry. It was reasonably clean. Lots of dust on the ceiling. As other reviews say you needed a second pillow. As a cheap stopover for a few hours sleep it was fine. Just expect what you pay for. It’s not a hidden gem. It is however ideally located just off the A26.

First stay we arrived late, checked in and threw our luggage in the room before going straight out to eat. Only when we returned did we notice that the room had not been made, and the dirty towels were still on the top bunk where they had been thrown. As it was late and reception is unmanned after 9pm we just slept on the beds and used our own towels. The following morning the chap on reception just apologised and that was that. On our subsequent stay the room was made but had only two towels for three guests, plaster coming off the wall and cigarette burns on the basin!

We checked in via an electronic box outside (2 rooms checked in 1 room it wouldn't let us checked in) when we got in the room, it was dirty, holes in bedding, cigarette burns in the soft furnishings and all the furniture had a defect of some.sort. The room smelt unclean and there was plenty of flies that would agree! We walked straight back out and booked into another hotel. We had small children with us and one baby would definitely not recommend. I've stayed in cleaner backpackers than this hotel

Do not book this hotel!

The photographs on the internet do not convey the true size of the room or the bathroom. The room was not very clean, the bed linen had cigarette burns in it, and the bathroom was just a plastic \"pod\" on a corner of the room with a very small shower area with a plastic curtain which did not hang properly. Throughout the night we were interrupted by people running along the landing, smoking marijuana and calling to each other. The walls were so thin you could clearly here what was being said in adjacent rooms. Absolutely disgusting.

I chose this hotel as it had ample parking and was an hour from Calais. It was reasonably easy to find from the motor way. The check in is an automatic ticket machine if you arrive late although this was not working and so a staff member helped. The rooms seemed OK with a a double and a single bed in each room.

Good location when travelling between SW France/UK

We have stayed here on numerous occasions. This is the first time we were disappointed by the cleanliness of the room - one pillow looked as if it had never been touched from a previous resident! The pillow was also aged and lacked resilience - it was actually pitiful! Luckily we always travel with our own pillows, so, whilst disturbing, it didn't cause us any hassle - just doubts about general cleanliness. It was also necessary to run water in both the basin and the shower, upon arrival, to stop the smell of the drains coming into the shower pod.

We would normally recommend this budget hotel for an overnight stay, because, overall, our previous experience of it has been positive.

Very basic but fine for an overnight stay when heading south in France as it is only one hour from Calais and very close to Autoroute. It is not easy to find at night though so website could do with better directions. Reception stays open late (maybe 24 hours) which is good if crossing delayed.

Revolting hair ridden unclean room with Wifi.

The room was absolutely revolting. We moved a pillow on the lower double bed to find a huge clump of hair under it. On the upper bunk bed there were hairs under the duvet which had cigarette sized burn holes in. The heater made a continuous clunking noise so we felt it unsafe to keep on over night meaning the room was completely freezing having to sleep with coats over us as we had no intention of sleeping under the hair ridden duvet sheets. You can clearly hear the room above which was getting continuous knocks on the door followed by a 15 minute squeaky bed and then soon after a car engine driving away. This continued throughout the night, must have been a popular guest in that room. Overall an incredibly dirty, freezing, noisy room which isn't worth a penny of what was paid. We will not be returning. On a plus side we could access free wifi for 24 hours.

Handy staging point 45 mins south of Calais

Have stayed here before, and find it a very useful stopover when travelling to/from French Alps. Receptionist was more than willing to allocate me a room in the left hand wing, so as to be further from the local dual carriageway. But the traffic noise really isn't obtrusive, it's just that I'm a light sleeper.

A tight squeeze.

The staff were friendly and efficient, but the 3 bed room was so cramped that it would have been only just okay for one person. The \"bathroom\" was a joke. Hardly enough room to sit on the toilet! Did not spoil the trip, but won't use Premiere Classe again. The name must mean 1 star!!

Room small, sheets on bed stained and pillow cases all creased and looked as if they had been used already. Pillows themselves looked like they were made out of cotton wool. Slept with towel over the pillow, glad we were only there a matter of hours. My advice would be drive on!

If you are reading this review, you are online. Think about that, before you stay at Premiere Classe Bethune. Their \"internet\" is so bad that you will NOT be online. It is insulting to provide such inadequate and slow connection to a hotel full of guests. When you give up and turn off your computer, you can climb into your dirty bed sheets, and listen to the loud people above you, and dream about the day when checkout finally arrives. The owner should take note. Look how many users book rooms online. Why do you want them all to be miserable when they come to your hotel? Update your internet service

This travel-lodge type place has the advantage of being a few hundrud yards off the m/way enroute from calais, heading south, it was clean, its what you pay for, 41 euros for a room with a double bed with a single over the top, food was accross the carpark. In the more expensive campanile with a discount voucher. All in all, value for money.

One of the better Premiere Classe hotels. Clean tidy good parking and very easy to access from the auto route. Good stop off going north or south
