The pool is a small lap pool. I did not go in the pool. Every morning for breakfast I had issues with the staff in the sense of they did not see my room having breakfast with my booking so every single morning I had to go downstairs to the front desk and get that sorted out. I stayed in the two bedroom penthouse Loft room number 308 which needs some small touch ups.

Property is very clean. Staff very polite and helpful. My only issue they don’t have a washer and dryer for quick use for guest without washer and dryer in there room. You can put paid washer on property for people who don’t want to wait a day to do laundry. Seen it done in lots of places I stayed.

I love that my room was mopped/wiped every morning. Housekeeping staff Latoya was “Amazing” Hotel was conveniently located, I was quickly able to moved around, 5mins walk to Devon House.
Both Jamaican and Continental Breakfast were served. I most definitely enjoyed the freshly cooked dumplings, yam and banana with different meat or vegetable.
Restaurant staffs were kind, courteous and professional.

I would not stay here again. The property has considerable potential; however, it requires meaningful renewal if it hopes to be regarded as more than a 2 star experience. Most concerning were the interactions with the front desk, which conveyed a lack of trust toward guests. The supervisor (female) communicated in a notably cold manner that appeared to anticipate problems rather than facilitate solutions.

By contrast, the bar staff and security team were consistently friendly and professional. They were attentive and, at times, seemed apologetic regarding guest concerns, which was appreciated.

The pool area did not align with the promotional images. On a positive note, the air conditioning functioned well.

Prospective guests may wish to confirm amenities and inclusions in writing prior to arrival, as I spent approximately 95 minutes with Hotels.com while they advocated for what had been promised.

Given the number of alternative accommodations available, I will be exploring other options upon my return next month.

The hallway on the second floor reeked and was horribly stained. The \"pool\" is not a functional one. It is more like a decorative water feature separating the bar from the dining area, so a swimmer would have to want to use the pool while surrounded by diners. Weird.

There are more affordable options with better facilities in Kingston.

It was fine since we were only there for a couple nights. However, the hotel is not a nice as pictured. It needs a refresh. The sofa had a big rip in it and you could tell that when it was new it probably looked great but it appears there have been no efforts to refresh the room or trappings. Also, I got a large suite and it felt barebones and no effort to put a nice touch. The room was clean but nothing special.

The location was great. In the center of everything. Rooms were spacious with a nice view. The hotel was very clean and the service was immaculate. The ladies at the front desk were really nice. This was my second time spending New year’s at this hotel. The breakfast included was delicious not only American dishes but Jamaican dishes were delicious.
Staying here I really enjoyed the view from the rooftop in the morning and at nights when having a cold beer.
This hotel was well worth it.

The breakfast is nice, and there are many food options. There is a pool, but it is in the middle of the restaurant, so not much privacy. There is a small gym with a fair amount of equipment in the basement. Guests receive complimentary bottles of water. The lobby is nice and newly renovated, but the hotel itself and the rooms do not give four-star quality; it is more like a three-star hotel with a pool and a good restaurant. The bed and pillows are comfortable.

Staff are friendly and polite. The cable TV did not work for most of my stay, which was disappointing. The area is okay, it's walkable to Devon House, the New Kingston Business Centre, Emancipation Park and fast-food restaurants. It may not be a great idea to walk alone at night, though, as there is a homeless encampment nearby on Dumfries Street. Overall, I had a pleasant stay.

True review...spent three nights at the hotel. It is average. Clean overall, stains and damaged patches in the bathroom. No hot water pressure in the shower. No iron board in the room and when requested they indicated the have no more and were not in a position to provide one. There was no hair dryer, reception not provide when requested. Had to pick it up later, that too was not working. The traffic aroud the hotel is congested during the day till late in the evening. The cleaning staff are phenomenal, worth mentioning Cordell, who was always smiling and willing to oblige. So were most of the staff in general. I would truly rate this hotel between a 2.5 and 3

My husband and I celebrated his birthday at the R Hotel, and the service was extraordinary from start to finish. Every team from the restaurant to the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and especially the gate personnel showed exceptional professionalism and genuine hospitality.

Special thanks to Shamoya and Vennissa for their clear guidance on Uber services and ensuring we felt safe during late-night outings. Deneissa delivered phenomenal guest service with warmth and efficiency. In the restaurant, Susan and Nakia provided fresh meals, pleasant smiles, and consistent courtesy. Housekeepers Lotoya and Cordell went above and beyond with daily fresh linen and laundry assistance.

The hotel is immaculate, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a fresh scent and stylish décor. Security protocols are strict yet reasonable, giving guests freedom with safety. The District 5 bartender (Asian features) was polite, respectful, and attentive.

A special commendation to Monique Gossop, whose hands-on leadership and problem-solving skills set the tone for the entire property. Even on short notice, the team created a wonderful birthday room setup that made our stay unforgettable.

Highly recommend this hotel delivers excellence at every level.

Breakfast was great, offering both regular items and fresh Jamaican dishes cooked to order. The best part of breakfast was the view truly something to behold. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I wish I had been informed about all the amenities upon check-in, but unfortunately, I only learned about them on my last day. This was likely due to my very late check-in because of my flight. Overall, everything was good.

Perhaps I need an explanation of credit per stay, I received it once and I was there for 2 days 1 night. I truly enjoyed this location but unfortunately their reaponse time is poor. Room service took a long time to deliver food, no menus in the room; at the end of my stay I was told after paying the prices increased but was never informed prior or given the bill. I reached out to the property to inquire about a break down of my bill and was given a vague response. I asked follow up questions and no one answered. I unfortunately will not be returning here I do not like how this was handled. I called as well and no one responded.
