This was an amazing hotel experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay. The property was well-maintained, clean, and fresh, which made for a very comfortable and enjoyable visit. I have absolutely no complaints about my experience at the R Hotel Kingston.

If I ever visit Kingston, Jamaica again, I will definitely stay there. I appreciated the balance between safety and privacy. While security measures were clearly in place and taken seriously, I was still afforded ample privacy and freedom during my stay. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kingston. Oh, the Jamaican breakfast style was on-point!

No official airport transfer was mentioned by another guest. However, they can arrange a taxi for the airport trip. The pool is small rectangular shaped. Mainly if you want to walk. The restaurant is on the roof top with the pool in the middle. There is a bar. Nice view of the city with a breeze.

An absolute paradise—one of Jamaica's best!I absolutely loved my stay here! It is easily one of the best hotels I have ever experienced in Jamaica. The staff went above and beyond, the food was absolutely amazing, and the rooftop lounge offered breathtaking views. I am already planning my next trip back to Jamaica, and I will definitely be staying here again!

Must stay at this hotel was exemplary. I would like to mention that I think that they should redo the carpet at least on the second floor that was the floor I was on because there’s bleach stains and it’s little unappealing when you’re walking down the hall to your room, but the room, immaculate beautiful I love the amenities the restaurant one of the best I’ve had at hotel food and drinks were superb and I would definitely recommend and stay there again on my next visit. The staff was wonderful very helpful. Shout out to the restaurant manager Gregory and my two favorite bartenders Anthony and Glenville.

The hotel overall was clean, and the room itself was tidy and well-maintained. However, there were several inconveniences that affected the stay. The bathtub did not have a shower curtain, which caused water to splash out onto the floor during showers, creating a mess. While the room did include an iron, there was no ironing board available, and there was also no hair dryer provided. The bed was too low, no quilt on bed to make you comfortable when the room got cold, you had to push up ac then it was uncomfortable being hot.
Additionally, the telephone in the room was not working, which meant I had to walk down to the front desk whenever I needed assistance. The food at the restaurant was very good. While cleanliness was a positive, the lack of basic amenities and functional equipment made the stay less comfortable than expected.

The hotel was good overall; however, the TV channels were limited and a bit frustrating was unable to get ANY good Movie watching channels without possibly paying a fee when was suppose to have had Cable. Also the carpet on hall floor could be changed sometimes when walked in room had a funny smell wasn't sure why because tile is on floor & had been cleaned, but the staff, food, etc Very Good...Overall about 8 out of 10

We appreciated the fridge, kettle as well as coffee maker and free water. The bed was lumpy but after mentioning this we were moved to a room with much better mattresses.

Unfortunately the TV remote (later fixed), telephone (line out of order), safe and coffee maker (never replaced despite several trips to the front desk with requests) didn’t work in the new room.

I chose this hotel for central location and free parking. Access is only via a single road that jams up badly at peak times resulting in us feeling trapped inside the hotel after returning late afternoon.

Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part but when no one followed up on getting us a functioning coffee maker when we had to leave before breakfast opened, was very disappointing.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Monique at the front desk, who was very friendly and helpful with my check in. I enjoyed the daily breakfast and took the Jamaican options and you still had the buffet option to choose from. I really liked the roof top terrace looking out at the city, while having a meal or drink. Love the location walking distance to major banks, restaurants and Devon House.

Initially i was thinking that I would definitely book this hotel again and would also recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I was shocked when I went to check out and I was told I had to pay US150.00 to use the bathroom that obviously had a leaking problem before we were assigned the room.. We were told that we broke a pipe underneath the kitchen sink which was a blatant lie.. Even if a pipe was broken outside of the bathroom how could that be the customers fault??As a customer I should be able to simply use the shower without fearing I might break a pipe located elsewhere in the hotel room..that problem had absolutely nothing to do with us and therefore that decision wasn't fare to me at all I was very disappointed and therefore could never ever recommend anyone to stay here.. that's it for me

The hotel is very clean, my room was spacious and really comfortable, staff were very professional, and the breakfast was really good with continental options at the buffet. I loved that there was a Jamaican breakfast option prepared to order. Nice rooftop dining was a vibe!

Only cons are getting to the parking lot was tricky with the really close corners and tiny spots. And the pool…or lack there of was disappointing. It’s more for esthetics than practical use. Didn’t have a lounging vacation feel. More of a commuter hotel, business travel or 1-2 nights stay.
Overall enjoyed my stay! Good location.

I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. I stayed one night. The TV never worked even though someone came to \"fix\" it. It worked for 10 minutes. :( Also, the pic of the pool is deceiving. It's a wading pool right in the middle of the dining and bar space - super weird. The hot breakfast saved the day, which was delicious and the server was friendly and courteous. Definitely not worth the price.

The pool is a small lap pool. I did not go in the pool. Every morning for breakfast I had issues with the staff in the sense of they did not see my room having breakfast with my booking so every single morning I had to go downstairs to the front desk and get that sorted out. I stayed in the two bedroom penthouse Loft room number 308 which needs some small touch ups.

I love that my room was mopped/wiped every morning. Housekeeping staff Latoya was “Amazing” Hotel was conveniently located, I was quickly able to moved around, 5mins walk to Devon House.
Both Jamaican and Continental Breakfast were served. I most definitely enjoyed the freshly cooked dumplings, yam and banana with different meat or vegetable.
Restaurant staffs were kind, courteous and professional.

2 stars, significant room for improvement

I would not stay here again. The property has considerable potential; however, it requires meaningful renewal if it hopes to be regarded as more than a 2 star experience. Most concerning were the interactions with the front desk, which conveyed a lack of trust toward guests. The supervisor (female) communicated in a notably cold manner that appeared to anticipate problems rather than facilitate solutions.

By contrast, the bar staff and security team were consistently friendly and professional. They were attentive and, at times, seemed apologetic regarding guest concerns, which was appreciated.

The pool area did not align with the promotional images. On a positive note, the air conditioning functioned well.

Prospective guests may wish to confirm amenities and inclusions in writing prior to arrival, as I spent approximately 95 minutes with Hotels.com while they advocated for what had been promised.

Given the number of alternative accommodations available, I will be exploring other options upon my return next month.
