Was expecting more

Was expecting more from this hotel... especially after paying 680$ for two nights. Apparently food was included but had to pay for drinks (water, coffee and soda not included. Hot water issues... Booked a room for four people and the beds were very firm and pillows sucked. The single beds are very small. Room was clean. Hotels.com charged me over 200$ in taxes and fees. Which was over 1/3 of my stay. Hotels.com scam...

Very enjoyable, family friendly experience! I would rate this hotel closer to a 3-3.5 star, because the rooms are a little dated. The highlight was the pool, the kids spent hours there. The staff was very friendly. The included breakfast was a nice treat and convenient in the morning, with different selection each day. We didn't do all inclusive, but the food at the resort was very affordable, e.g. an entree and a drink for only 9 Euros. There are so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Overall, no frills and good value!

This is a good quality 3 star hotel. Not sure of they have double beds as we had twins pushed together, which was a bit annoying. The food and drink are good, and the location is excellent. The room/suite is huge with all amenities you would need. Would stay here again. Suitable for couples, friends and families.

Overall the stay at Creta Palm was amazing! Very clean, great food and service. All the staff were very friendly and dealt with any issues straight away. There are big pools, which was a big plus for us as my daughter loves to swim! The only downside is the wifi service in the rooms are not great, it kept cutting off however worked very well around the pool and restaurant area. The area around the hotel is good too, local buses run from outside the hotel to Chania and there is also beach in front of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, we had an excellent time here and will like to return again one day in the near future.

Honestly one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. My friend and I were lucky enough to be able to book a week long holiday to Crete in August. We were reading reviews about Creta Palm and thought that it would be a good choice of hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt extremely welcome. The reception staff were friendly and informative. You can see straight away that all the necessary safety precautions have been taken - sanitising stations / plastic screens etc. We arrived in our room which was spotless. The linen was clean and honestly there was nothing to fault about the room. The air conditioning was free and powerful. Extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe if needed. A safe for a fee and a large balcony. We booked a one bedroom apartment with a sea / pool view. There’s also a kitchenette with a friend and enough cutlery / glassware for a family.

We booked half board and would recommend this. There was a huge choice of food for breakfast both hot and cold food. The dinner buffet also had a great selection that was delicious. The menu for each day was nicely displayed at the entrance to our apartment block.

The one thing that really makes this hotel so nice is the staff. Every single of one of them were exceptional. (With a special mention for Stella in the restaurant.)

If you’re looking for a relaxing get away with a friendly atmosphere that has something for everyone, Creta Palm should be top of the list. We will certainly be back.

We've stayed 7 nights, I really liked the staff - very friendly and kind. The only thing I didn't like is that in Expedia's gallery the rooms were looking different than in what room we were actually. I really advise you to rent a car via justrentals because the hotel is around 20km from the airport, also you will want to see the most popular beaches like Elafonissi and Balos which are far from the hotel as well. :)

Wonderful stay at a superb hotel

Fabulous hotel and the staff are exceptional (every single one of them). Lots of lovely restaurants to visit in the vicinity and a beach just over the road.
Cleaned to a very high standard. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
There are two pools to choose from also. We used the top pool the most. The staff at the pool bar were just brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Cretan people are wonderful!

Disappointing and deceiving

I was put in an annex of studio apartments a bit away from the hotel itself. And no phone...so no way to connect with the front desk. The plus side was it was quiet, but it was more remote and disconnected from the main hotel. The unit was new and clean, but the shower was 20”x20”...the sink was larger! Had I seen that photo in the collection on hotels.com, I never would have booked here. The listing gives the impression that they are on the beach...and they are not. The breakfast was early and not at all appealing. The front desk lady was very kind and helpful though.

Everything is good except there are bugs in the hallway as the hallway is open to the air just like a lot of Caribbean resorts. They only come out at night and may go to the rooms (likely washroom) through the door at night time. They like wet place and are harmless. I’ve seen these kind when I was a kid. The janitors sweep them away every morning so you don’t see them in day time.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in April 2018. We found the hotel very pleasant with reception staff friendly. The hotel is set in different blocks and our room was a little way away from reception and up a slope. We asked if we could change this as I have an injury to my knee. We we moved to another room close to reception straight away. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. We had booked room and buffet breakfast which was good there was always a good choicentre. We decided to pay for dinner. Again a very good choice and at e13 good value. We had hired a car and was able to park outside the hotel. Good choice of hotel as only 30 minutes from Chania airport.

Stayed here a few years ago but the place has gone through a big expansion - no changes to the superb service and quality just a little more chaotic at breakfast - good sized well equipped and designed apartment overlooking the pool and a beautiful sandy beach about 50 metres across the road - staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you - the Creta Palm always makes a good holiday base

A great escape for the time of year

Holiday with family in April. Hotel was fairly quiet and relaxing which was expected for the time of year. Hotel good location not far from beach and close to tavernas, lovely spacious rooms overlooking pool. Rooms were clean and tidy - only criticism would be the bedding appeared 'old'. Most staff were friendly. Stayed BB and the food was pretty okay with choice of English or Continental breakfast. An enjoyable spring break and would recommend for the time of year - we were fortunate to have warm sunny weather.

The pictures are an accurate representation of the property. Breakfast buffet did not vary greatly. Plentiful, though, it was. We knew the gym was limited - but it really was limited. The personnel was consistently competent, friendly and helpful. We'd come back in a heart beat.
All restaurants in the area had great food and friendly service. Bus service took time sometimes as some buses were fully occupied and thus did not stop.

Nice Hotel across the road from the beach.

A pleasant, clean hotel room, with a nice large balcony, and a small kitchen area. We had a room overlooking the back pool, which was very nice. The pool has 2 very steep slopes as access from the main hotel grounds. The pool area was always very busy, we opted to go to the beach, which was lovely and peaceful, paying 5 euros a day for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella. We chose to use the side road access to the hotel as to go via reception the path round the front pool is quite narrow and very slippery. We were only there on a bed and breakfast basis, so can only comment on the food at breakfast. The cooked breakfast was nice, the fruit selection was poor, and mostly seemed tinned, in syrup. The biggest problem was a ridiculous queuing system, whereby, there was a man making fresh pancakes to order and everyone backing up from that point, which caused the queue to go down the stairs on most mornings. It is badly laid out in a small area. I would happily return to this hotel but would only book room only. The menu for the dinner never looked very appetising.

The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi but it is limited free Wi-Fi and they give you a password for only one device.

Nice hotel for a family.

Overall, was happy with the stay. The room was large and clean, but would not win any awards for contemporary design. The kitchenette with refrigerator was convenient. Pool was nice, but closed very early (8 p.m.) to accommodate the nightly Scandinavian cards and drinks ritual. This hotel is apparently very popular with Scandinavians -- so much so, that the tours and information on them are in one of the Scandinavian languages. The hotel was probably understaffed for the amount of people that really never left the hotel environs -- which meant a very long wait sometimes for drinks at the bar or for service at the front desk. The staff was very friendly and helpful though. Also, the gym was a little disappointing and unbelievably hot (not air conditioned). There were about 6 parking spaces, so most of the time, we were parked on the street nearby. The area is extremely overdeveloped for tourists, so this is not an idyllic and remote Greek getaway.

Great hotel and location

A modern looking pristine hotel just a few metres from the sea. Rooms are set in blocks of 12 at the back of the site they're spacious and well designed each with a balcony they're very quite and with good air conditioning. Car parking is either just outside the front of the hotel or across the road. If you don't want to use the hotel there are plenty of bars and restaurants just a short walk away. The hotel has a small pool and well stocked bar. Breakfast is amazing and caters for all tastes and is constantly replenished. the staff are brilliant always cheerful and really helpful, WiFi is available on site. Only downside was the cost for use of the safe in the room where they charge 15 Euros. The bus to Chania stops just a few metres from the hotel.

The hotel is good, but its not a hotel for couples or friends looking for an escape as it is really set up for families. There is only one pool and its much smaller than it looks in the photos. And was always half fill with kids, which was entertaining but not relaxing. The rooms were great, large and clean. Also the staff were very helpful.

Lovely place for a relaxing holiday. Hotel itself is very good, with big rooms, two nice pools and reasonable food. Other guests mainly well-behaved Scandinavians - no louts! Pavlos behind the pool bar is a great laugh and a great asset for the hotel - reception staff a little grumpy. More broadly, it's a great location for exploring western Crete: bus stop outside and 15 mins into central Chania. Supermarket opposite and pharmacy 100m away. Beach over the road and down slipway. Massive selection of tavernas nearby, as well as car hire places and excursion providers. Thoroughly recommended and will go back.

I have just returned from a weeks stay at Creta palm, Hania. The hotel was very easy to find and provided free on site parking. The rooms were clean and spacious and included a fridge and a two ring hob. The shower leaks very badly! Wifi costs extra, but pool towels are available. Breakfast is lovely. Plentiful and varied. All staff are very friendly and polite. There are a few shops and restaurants within walking distance and the beach is behind the shops opposite. There is no private beach and there is a cost for sun beds.
We ate lunch at the pool bar which was lovely and very good value.

Good value, well maintained hotel

Arrived expecting a sea view room (as booked through Expedia), but we were put in an apartment which was rather dark and lacking any sun exposure due to surrounding complex buildings. Receptionist was more than happy to offer us an alternative which had morning sun, and the room was light, spacious and well maintained. The hotel is separated from the beach by a row of buildings and the street, so decent sea views are not available. This is more for Expedia's benefit rather than the hotel as we were specifically asked if we wanted a sea view room when we booked. You could just about glimpse the sea over roof tops. But the walk across the road to the beach is literally seconds, and it is a nice clean sandy beach.
Unruly late night students were staying at the time, but they were out during the day and it was lack of supervision from their school teachers at night rather than a hotel staff issue. Indeed, the receptionist did warn us of their presence.
Food was very good, restaurant staff were very attentive, and bar staff very friendly. Free wifi is provided. Parking is available but limited if coaches are present, but plenty of street parking available.
There are plenty of local mini supermarkets and restaurants, not all were open during our stay in April but I guess they are during high season.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Creta Palm.

Lovely good value hotel.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It is clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was serviced daily with clean towels and toiletries. We were travelling with both children and an elderly relative and this hotel suited all of us. We did not eat at the hotel in the evenings but the pool bar menu had a good choice, was very nice, and reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in our room rate and offered a good choice of food every day. A range of hot foods, cold meats and cheeses, a good selection of fruits and yogurts and the usual toast, croissants fruit breads etc. The children loved the pancakes with chocolate sauce or honey.

Good hotel. Stayed for 10 days from 24th Aug to 3rd Nov.
Unfortunately it was at the end of the season so it was scaling down operations . We did manage to experience one night of entertainment which was really good fun.
On the up side we pretty much had the pool and sun beds to ourselves!
Can't speak highly enough about the staff, everyone we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful.
We were booked for bed and breakfast which was ok, wasn't my cup of tea but I don't generally enjoy foreign buffet breakfasts wherever I go to be honest .
Rooms were cleaned every day with clean towels and bed linen.
Hotel across the road from a beach , not the best beach I've visited.
A few shod and restaraunts in the local vicinity but most were closed while we were there.
It's about 15 mins into Chania town €1.60 on the bus if you could get one, something else which was scaled back. Taxi approx €12.
Had an issue with the wifi , couldn't connect in our room and kept dropping out in bar area. Had to put in codes whenever you wanted to connect. Totally useless trying to watch anything on the iPad . Fortunately downloaded some things on I player before we come out!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.
Probably rate it 3* .

Not \"on the beach\", Fine for stopover

Stayed overnight prior to flight home. There is a main road and a taverna between the hotel & the beach, I had expected it to be \"on the beach\". If staying for longer, would have been disappointed. View of ocean was \"between the buildings\" - more a glimpse than a view! Room - double bed, firm (OK for us) with nice but small balcony. Bathroom satisf. No probs with shower leaking like previous reviewer. Breakfast included was fine, with fresh omelette cooked while waiting + usual hot/cold buffet style bits - quite acceptable. Wifi was included, but description varied, and am not sure, had I not queried this, would it have been free. Safety box cost 3 euro for one night. iPad just fits, laptop wouldn't. Car parking - small area in front of hotel, other spots (some under cover) available and closer to our appt (right at back of complex). Not many English voices, didn't try evening meal as taverna opposite was more attractive menu and was excellent (on the beach too!!). Took fair time to get to airport - half an hour++ even with only moderate traffic - thought would be quicker. All in all, fine for a stopover, prob would have been disappointed for longer. Accomodation of good size & quality

Staff is experienced and willing to go that little extra for guests.
Hotel should eliminate fee (15 euros) a week for inroom safe.
Variety for buffet breakfast has room for improvement.
For myself, I had a wondeful stay. Beach is a one minute walk across
the street from the hotel.In hotel entertanement several times a week.
Rooms are large and clean.For me the Creta Palm is a winner!

Beautiful resort!

I spent 10 days in Creta Palm Resort with my boyfriend and we had the most wonderful time! The resort is even more beautiful than the pictures, wonderful location, pool is really nice, beach is just across the street.... I would definitely recomend this hotel to anyone. The only thing they might consider working on is the maids being loud in the morning when they are cleaning the rooms. They talk to each other across the hall every morning and so sleeping in was a hard task to accomplish. Everything else made up for it though and I'm very satisfied with this hotel. Also, food in all the restaurants close to this hotel were fantastic. Staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. I would definitely go back there again if I had a chance. Vacation to remember!

About a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport (40-50E), but still a great location. Beautiful and quiet beach right across the street.

Breakfast buffet had a nice selection of foods--many staples that we've seen while traveling in the UK and Scandinavian countries. Grounds exceptionally clean as well as the rooms.

Only downside was the echoing of the courtyard area into our room (we had left the balcony door open for fresh air) in the morning. Only thing we would change was the beds--very, very firm, which is apparently the norm for Greece.

Restauration peu qualitative non digne d'un 4 étoiles surtout le soir. Ambiance cantine. Buffet répétitif et peu recherché, aliments low cost Personnel en sous effectif débarrassage bruyant. Pas de carte des boissons et choix très limité.

Studio: draps déposés sur les lits à faire soi-même chaque jour. Matelas correct sans plus.
2 lits simples a la place d'un double

2 Belles piscines, mais interdiction d'utiliser les serviette de l'hôtel a la piscine.

Cumple con las expectativas, estuvimos muy a gusto, la habitación es amplia y limpia, la comida es buena y tuvimos que dejar la habitación muy pronto por la mañana para ir al aeropuerto y nos prepararon el desayuno para nosotros, un detalle, fueron muy amables

Ottimo struttura con 2 ampie piscine. Molto spazio e camere molto grandi e di recente fattura.
Forse il bagno andrebbe ammodernato togliendo la vasca.

Comodo parcheggio sotto la camera.

La cena a buffet un po deludente, poca varietà.

Bra ställe, personalen var jätte trevliga. Dom hjälpte oss med att hyra bil. Poolen var riktigt bra, drinkar var mindre bra om du köper själv. Man kan ta bussen utanför in till Chania för en billig slant istället för taxi. Rekommendera stället

Very nice hotel! You get much for less money.

Really nice hotel, with very kind staff. We booked an studio apartment and it was nice. We wrote before arriving, that if it was possible, we would like pool view and we got that.

We only had breakfast in booking. It was good, many things to choose from. Maybe the buffet area could be larger, it is not huge, and with many guests, it feels crowded.

Two nice pools, one with an bar that served all front drinks, ice to food. The two staff persons an woman and younger guy was really really nice and serviceminded.

Sadly it was written in the description of the rooms, that they were sound isolated. That's not true, you can hear when your nabo pulls there chair across the floor. The cleaning lady is talking very loud in the morning and this can be very clear. So i ended up using ear plugs. But that's was the only thing negative i can think of. Would chose the hotel again, but maybe another room.

Fint ophold på Creta Palm Hotel. Ser ud som på billederne. Fin morgenmad, hvor covid-19 restriktionerne blev tager alvorligt med afspritning af borde, mundbind og handsker. Dejlige pools og ok værelser. Hjælpsom reception og søde tjenere. Tæt på stranden. Man skal dog lige over lidt sten, når man skal i vandet.

Mon séjour personnel s’est très bien passer nous avons passer des vacances de rêves. Par contre l’hôtel était très décevant !! 4 étoiles ??? Celles ci ne sont pas mérités. L’accueil a été déplorable, le personnel hors mis ceux du petit dej étaient mal accueillant, ne disait jamais bonjour, ne prenait pas assez de temps pour les clients. Un soir nous avons voulu visiter l’hôtel à notre arrivée et un mec du personnel est venu éteindre les lumières, nous a virée et nous a dis que nous n’avons rien à faire ici ????? Nous voulons juste faire le tour et visiter, nous avoir toute de même payer notre séjour! Incroyable ! Je ne recommande vraiment pas cet hôtel, il y en as de beaucoup plus beau et beaucoup mieux à côté !!
Et de plus là clim de la chambre n’a jamais fonctionner alors que je suis aller le signaler tout de même

μια υπέροχη βδομάδα στα χανια

Περάσαμε υπέροχα. Ιδανικό οικογένειες. Το προσωπικό πολύ φιλικό και πάντα έτοιμο να παρέχει κάθε βοήθεια. Το φαγητό a la carte που δοκιμάσαμε απίστευτα εύγευστο. Πλούσιο πρωινό. Πολύ κοντά στη πόλη αν έχεις αυτοκίνητο. Η περιοχή γύρω από το ξενοδοχείο έχει ότι χρειαστείς και τις καλύτερες ταβέρνες των Χανίων. Η Κα Εύα μας βοήθησε πολύ στις επιλογές για φαγητό στα Χανιά γενικότερα. Κάθε επιλογή της βγήκε λίρα εκατό.

The apartments were really ok, nothing fancy but absolutely ok for the price - had everything you needed and was perfectly clean. Also baby cot and high chain was in place in the before we arrived, which was super nice. I wouldn’t call it a 4 start hotel, maybe more a 3. Very much a family holiday resort, with all that goes with that - not really for me. Only tried breakfast which was boring, low quality, limited selection and always the same. All the staff was really nice - throughout the hotel.

struttura un po datata,ma pulitissima e con servizio ottimo.
Ero in mezza pensione, ho scoperto che a Creta visti i prezzi bassi dei moltissimi locali forse è preferibile solo colazione. Bevande ,compreso acqua ai pasti a pagamento in un 4 stelle mi sembra eccessivo.
Buffet internazionale e a mio avviso scarso,u nica pecca dell hotel

Pidin hotellin paikasta, meri ja hyvät ruokapaikat vieressä. Hyvin siistiä ja henkilökunta ystävällistä. Siivoojat kävi joka päivä, mikä oli luksusta. Hotellihuone yllätti, koska se oli pieni kaksio keittiömahdollisuudella.
Huoneemme oli aivan ulkoallas baarin vieressä. Iltaisin ja öisin oli jatkuvaa puheensorinaa ja hieman meteliläkin. No, se kuuluu lomaan, mutta välillä olisi kaivannut iltaisin hiljaisuutta.
Enemmän olisi saanut olla hotellin omaa elävän musiikin tarjontaa. Vain yhtenä iltana saatiin siitä nauttia ja tanssia.

- Chouette apparthotel familial. Mais manque apparent de luxe dont j'ai fait part au manager de l'hôtel. A partir de là, des surmatelas ont été apportés, un bouquet de fleurs renouvelé quotidiennement, un panier de fruits offerts …
- Je regrette le fait qu'il n'y ait pas eu tous les soirs des shows mais les 3 prévus dans la semaine étaient très agréables.
- Piscine un peu froide mais jolie. Transats en suffisance. Pas d'essuies fournis.
- Petit déjeuner très industriel par contre, évitons les jus \"orange taste\"..
- Situé dans une rue commerciale mais juste derrière la plage.

Au final, très agréable et reposant.

Réception impersonnelle, nourriture du petit déjeuner satisfaisante, sauf que le café n’est pas bon, pas de chocolat chaud disponible et le jus d’orange était infect..
Chambres propres, mais décoration vieillotte, mauvaise insonorisation et le wifi déconnectait sans arrêt
Par contre, obligé de faire soit même son lit, jamais vu ça ! (Vous retrouviez les draps pliés tous les jours au pied du lit !!)
Sinon, personnel de chambre et du bar charmant
2 belles piscines, mer à 100 m (on la voit depuis le restaurant)
