we booked this hotel: Top Floor with Panoramic view, but when we arrived, the front desk said our room is top floor, no more floor above us, we got our room on 2nd floor but there are 2 floors above us, confusing but we tolerate as always when we travel to a foreign country as a visitor. This hotel is out in the middle of nowhere, but perfect! The drive to Hallstatt was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, the prices were great, the restaurant was…not bad but dinner buffet was like 25pp didn’t really think it was worth that. Rooms were small and no AC, and no coffee makers- so buy one at aldi! I would definitely stay here again though! The price and scenery made it worth while.

Absolute ’give a damn’ attitude of the staff.. whether when u are checking in or trying to ask for info, or even food.. extremely rude …if kitchen stops at 8:30 pm, they won’t even bother to inform u that u can order atleast a bar menu or pizza. We had to drive around town to find food and with nothing available, ended up dining on precooked n packed meals .. pathetic staff service.. no cleanliness in rooms .. no appliances, fans or ac.. hair dryer also wouldn’t work. For any thing u have to go all the way to the front desk coz they won’t provide a phone in the room to connect the hotel. Front desk is most of the times not even there so u can ask.. worst hotel ever….

A very low-level hotel, the reception staff lacks service awareness and is not nice to say the least, the rooms smell bad, the floor of the room is dirty and sticky, I don't know why but the rooms are not cleaned on a daily basis, worn and torn towels, there is no minibar in the room, the only bright spot I found is the dining room with a varied breakfast and dinner

The hotel is very nice and seems rather new. Gosau is a lovely village close to Hallstatt, but you don't have to deal with all the tourists. The service was good, except for the fact that our bathroom sink would not drain. We informed the reception desk of this on our first night (Friday), but it was never fixed nor did they offer to transfer us to a different room.

The hotel is also under staff, we could not check in until 4pm even though the check in time is 3pm, because the room was not ready, but the check out time is 10am, which is earlier than a typical check out time. It was an alright stay for one night to visit Hallstatt.

Not so good points:
- the place is full of flies. Granted this may be due to the area hotel is in rather than the hotel itself
- mediocre dinner buffet reminiscent of school dinner
- non smoking room with an ash stray in the balcony, so when the balcony door is opened, you can smell smoke from other hotel guests.
- weird house keeping staff that keep coming into our room without even knocking. First time was soon after we checked in. This morning we were down for breakfast and when we came back to our room, we found our room door opened.

The room was nice and clean and open. The view that we had from the balcony was amazing of the Dachstein Mountains. So I would recommend upgrading your room.

Lovely hotel for Dachstein excursions
This hotel ticks all the boxes. Brilliant location for Dachstein and Salzkammergut regions, nice room sizes, good spread for continental breakfast and courteous staff. Had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Only suggestions would be as follows:
1. Please provide tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so that one can enjoy an early morning coffee with the stunning views, is that there is no kettle
2. Please train the bar staff for drinks/cocktail service as the coctails were underwhelming.
3. Please try and include cooked eggs like fried or scrambled eggs on your breakfast spread.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was large and comfortable. The balcony and views were excellent. The breakfast was also excellent. We would definitely stay here again. It would be nice to have a refrigerator in the room though.

Spacious hotel which needs a bigger heart
The hotel is in a nice location. Please be aware that everything around closes early so shop in advance or hotel will be your only option for dinner.

1. We waited more than 30 minutes at the check-in desk. There was only 1 person at the desk and everyone had to wait. Later on another person joined in the at the check in desk and it was faster. The staff was courteous.
2. We were not aware that everything around closes early. Nevertheless, we had buffet dinner at hotel and it was ok. We had a kid(about 2 years) and she was not ready to eat at that time. I requested them if I could take some soup with us in case she gets hungry at night. They refused stating the hotel policy that no food from buffet can be taken outside. Instead they offered us to buy a lunch pack(with sandwiches which she doesn't eat).
I have been traveling a lot and understand hotel policies but I found it a bit insensitive in this case. A kid is not an adult, the hotel can make an exception in this case. They should also consider that there is nothing else available in the area around.
