We did not take advantage of the breakfast. We left the location. It was quiet away from all the business. Great shopping. Just ride around the block about a 7 to 8 minute walk to the old town. The rooms were quirky but big and spacious. We had big windows we could open for ventilation. AC does not seem to work as was our experience at every hotel throughout Germany. I would recommend this place.

A wonderful, old-world hotel in a perfect location. Room had excellent amenities including a min-fridge (two bottles of water were restocked daily free of charge) and a small Nespresso machine. Restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store all within a few minutes. Walk to the old town hall in less than 10. Can't get much closer to the historic center. A beautiful neighborhood with grand homes and a park is just around the corner. Staff was very helpful with directions and calling taxis - train stations was a 10 euro taxi ride away.

Beautiful, not all rooms have a/c
Great location. Historic beautiful building. When traveling to Europe in the summer, we always filter to find hotels with A/C which is how we picked this one. Little did we know that only SOME of the rooms have a/c, so we had to move out and into a smaller room. The new room had a couch at the foot of the bed that had a lip that protruded onto where my feet would lay (I’m a 5’ 10” woman). If I pushed the couch out, it was in the way of walking, if I left it, I couldn’t stretch out. I know, first world problems… but I would’ve liked to have known about the a/c before booking. Wouldn’t stay again without a guarantee of a/c in the summer.

The (mainly) young staff is very welcoming, and very helpful, correcting anything that might be wrong in room. Room was excellent. One caveat…no telephones in the rooms. The assumption apparently is that one can call the front desk from one’s own mobile. However, if one comes from abroad and is on a mobile plan limiting calls…

We arrived at the hotel and were told to pay an extra €25 as the booking was only for one person. I didn’t think to book for two adults as we didn’t opt for breakfast and the reservation was for a king double room.
Despite the 20% increase imposed on us on check-in, the hotel didn’t “upgrade” the room to accommodate two adults. In fact, the room was only prepared for one person. One towel, one soap.. they didn’t even have pillows for two people despite it being a king double room reservation. The lady at reception was neither helpful nor friendly.
The hotel itself was clean, the room was very nice for the price and we were well located for access to the city, however, the experience was marred by the €25 fee and the attitude of the staff on reception.

The DM store was around the corner and so was the marketplace. Would stay here again, i did hear loud music nd people talking at 1 am but it wasnt too bad.

Everything about our stay was great. Area is close to the main bus station and walkable to all areas of interest, restaurants and shops. Around a 20 min walk from the train station, but catching a 901 bus around the corner is easy to get there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walk to a Rewe grocery store as well. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Nice location, away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few minutes walk into the centre of beautiful Bamberg. Would definitely recommend it and we will be back for another visit.

This is a beautiful and historic property. Our accommodations were perfect. Corner room two full windows and a French balcony adorned with flowers. Location is centrally located, close to shopping, and the city center bus station.
We found the shower difficult, small, and allowed water escape.

On the down side, I had difficulty figuring out parking which was frustrating as the hotel location once there requires a 10 minute drive to get back there. I saw no option to park the car for a short time and talk to reception about parking options. Supposedly the hotel has some parking but where was not evident to me driving by, causing another 10 minute drive to find parking. I suggest you just aim for the parking garage and then walk to the hotel. Secondly, the hotel room is very warm despite the cool nights. I suggest the hotel add a fan to each room. This would help tremendously.

This is a difficult property to review, mainly because some aspects were very good, let down my many missed opportunities to be better. On the positives - the building is grand from the outside and the shared amenities (dining room, sitting room and lobby with refreshments) are reminiscent of good B&Bs - which this property appears to be pitching themselves, which is understandable given the size and historic nature of Bamberg. Our room was large and split on two levels with an appealing sitting area and the amenities (toiletries etc) were of a high (business hotel) standard. Breakfast (included) was decent with friendly service although the range/choice was limited.
Unfortunately we found our room very noisy with late night loud talking and vacuuming (!), the beds old and uncomfortable and the service from the front desk disinterested at best - amounting to a desk clerk service rather than hotel service. Parking was definitely problematic with little (actually...no) help from the hotel.
Overall with a remodel (the rooms were strangely modern with a quirky mix of styles and furnishings), improved service (or better training) this hotel would certainly appeal to a more luxe market. Sadly those aspects which were exceptional were more than let down by the other aspects making this an unappealing property at the moment. The hotel location seems to be convenient but parking can be problematic especially with a larger vehicle I understand this is your up but there are several parking structures that can accommodate nothing conveniently located in my opinion to this hotel. The atmosphere is stuffy and the staff have a pretentious attitude. Two person room has completely clear glass bathroom, as if you are an orangutan on display. This was a modern remodel interpretation gone horribly wrong. it's a very strange set up to say the least not comfortable and expensive compared to the alternatives. I lived in the city for several years, great city. won’t stay at this place again.

Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Hotel selbst ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. General fand ich es sehr hellhörig. Man kann seinem Nachbarn beim Gespräch od im Bad sehr deutlich hören. Der Fußboden ist schön mit Parkett ausgelegt wobei hier jeder Schritt ein Knarren hervorruft. Die Bilder geben meiner Meinung nach, nicht den aktuellen Status wieder.

Das Familienzimmer 117 war total 80er Jahre (Glitzernd und verspiegelt) und unpraktisch eingerichtet. Das obere und untere Zimmer waren durch steile enge Treppen getrennt. Im oberen Zimmer war ein riesiger Lichtschacht an der Decke, den wir nicht verdunkeln konnten. Lichtschalter und Steckdosen an unpassenden Stellen. Das offene Badezimmer mit nur verglaster Toilettentür ging gar nicht (0 Privatsphäre). Dafür zu teuer. Das zubuchbare Frühstück war sehr gut . Das Hotel liegt sehr nah an der Altstadt und der Einkaufsstraße
