GREAT with a tiny issue

We had another wonderful stay at Hotel Bayerischer Hof — just as on our previous visits. The service was warm and attentive, the breakfast was EXZELLENT, and the atmosphere of the hotel is so charming and inviting. It really feels like a home away from home, and we always appreciate the care the staff puts into making guests feel welcome.

The only downside this time was that our room faced the church, and the bells were very loud, ringing every hour. Even every 15min.— Also late night and early in the morning. Unfortunately, this did disturb our sleep quite a bit.

That said, we still truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend the hotel. For light sleepers, it might be worth requesting a room that does not face the church.

Thank you again to the whole team — we’re looking forward to coming back!

Tolle Lage, etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage, alles zu Fuss erreichbar und Aussicht auf Hochgrat!
Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen und Matratzen sehr weich und in der Dusche öfters unangenehmen Geruch, haben das in einem früheren Aufenthalt schon bemängelt und man wollte etwas machen. Personal an der Rezeption ist freundlich, aber manchmal etwas überfordert. Frühstück hervorragend und ein herzliches Dankeschön an die nette und herzliche Bedienung des langjährigen Mitarbeiters. Auch an der Bar und Restaurant sehr freundlich.

Lovely hotel but uncomfortable pillows!

We stayed for 4 nights. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful as were the restaurant staff, despite the language barrier with very few staff members speaking English. Food in the restaurant was excellent. There is a small amount of free parking on site and the pool facilities are good.

The only downside was the pillows in our bed, we both struggled to sleep for 3 nights. The bed was comfortable but the pillows not, and we are both usually not fussy! But all in all it was a nice hotel and an enjoyable stay.


Not a huge amount of choice for dinner in the town but all good quality.

En lille perle i Alperne

Et super dejligt ophold, som startede med en imødekommende engelsktalende receptionist, som forklarede om stedet og forholdene. Vi fik en plads i p-kælderen (mod betaling), som var helt genialt, da pladserne ude på gaden var meget trænge. Værelset var virkelig lækkert. God størrelse, vanvittig udsigt og udstyret med alt hvad man kunne ønske: to håndvaske, minibar, walk-in closet, balkon, aircondition og en meget god (og stor!) seng. Hotellet lå rigtig godt i forhold til vandreruter, og især en tur til Hochgratbahn og Alpsee kan anbefales. Morgenmaden var også super lækker. God service, godt udvalg og hyggelige omgivelser. Faktisk er “hyggelig” et gennemgående element. For alt var hyggeligt. Stedet, lejligheden, spa-området og omgivelserne. Kan kun anbefale dette sted og det er bestemt ikke sidste gang vi besøger byen og hotellet. Et tip: Reserver plads på de omkringliggende restauranter i god tid. Vi måtte gå forgæves flere gange, da der ikke var plads. Men mange af stederne tilbyder også takeaway.

Zimmer und Austattung gut, Service enttäuscht

Die Lage ist top. Die Zimmer und Ausstattung sind gut und sehr sauber. Personal ist freundlich, aber eine Terminbuchung für eine Massage ist schiefgelaufen, sodass wir das Wochenende ohne eine Massage hatten. Im Hotel-Restaurant ist das Essen gut, aber ich habe ein falsches Getränk als bestellt bekommen und meine Freunde haben 3 Mal nach Ketchup für ihre Pommes fragen müssen, also hier gibt es nachholbedarf

Quiet, Typical and Money Well Spent

Quiet and typical Bavarian hotel with friendly staff, cosy restaurant below with beautiful woodworks. Nice quiet rooms with a view to the Alps. Breathtaking surroundings just off the German Alp Route and close to the Austrian border. Cosy town with numerous offerings for eating out or get a drink. This hotel is well-worth the money and a good base if you wish to explore the beautiful countryside.

Nice hotel with spa

Nice reasonably priced hotel with friendly staff at the reception. The rooms are nice and clean, and the beds are comfy. The hotel also has a spa and pool with saunas, and even if it’s not the most modern, I still enjoyed it a lot. Parking is easy in the garage, and I even got a room upgrade from the friendly receptionist.

I arrived at the hotel a bit late in the evening at and around 20.30 I asked the bartender in the restaurant/bar if it was possible to get a table for one, there were clearly several free tables. The answer was NEIN, and then he left. On can not treat guests like that. And this episode is also my only critical remark. So except for having to run around town chasing restaurants after driving a whole day, the stay was wonderful and I would recommend it without doubt.

Bayerischerhof Oberstaufen

I have stayed here a lot recently. The staff are excellent, very kind and helpful. The food here is very good. I have tried a few different types of room. They have all been very clean and very comfortable.
I will be staying here a lot in the coming months. It is a great place to be.

Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen und man kann von dort aus alles super zu Fuß erreichen. Für Wanderbegeisterte sind die besten Ruten auch schnell zu erreichen.
Das Hotel bietet alles was man braucht und das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis ist auch okay. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist nicht all zu groß, aber es ist für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Allerdings hätte ich mir mehr Auswahl für Veganer/Vegetarier gewünscht. Das personal ist auch nett und zuvorkommend. Der Pool- und der Sparbereich ist sehr groß und sauber.
Die Zimmer haben eine Moderate Sauberkeit (zumindest das Zimmer das wir hatten).

Wir hatten ein \"superior\" Zimmer im 4. Stock direkt unter König Ludwig Suite. DER Fußboden da oben knarrte so laut, das war unerträglich . Wie kann ein angebliches 4 Sterne
Haus so ein Zimmer als superior vermieten. Da das Hotel angeblich ausgebucht war, haben wir einen Zimmerwechsel gar nicht erst versucht. Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder!

Surprised to find there wasn't a charging station - it was on the list of amenities when we selected it.
The room was extremely warm - no air conditioning or fans available.
Slightly chaotic breakfast - staff struggling to keep food and juices in stock. Sorry to say we are not coming back 🙁

Wir waren im Anbau untergebracht, der leider in keinem guten Zustand war. Der Warmwasserregler der Dusche war kaum zu bedienen, da sehr verkalkt, folglich das Wasser entweder zu heiß oder zu kalt. Die Terrasse vor unserem Zimmer war bei unserer Ankunft nicht gefegt, folglich verschmutzt, der angrenzende Hotelgarten nicht besonders gepflegt. Die Zimmer wurden nicht gut gereinigt, der kleine Mülleimer im Schlafbereich während unseres mehrtägigen Aufenthaltes wurde nicht geleert, die Toilette nicht besonders gut gereinigt, so daß sie dauernd gestunken hat. Im aktuellen Zustand kann ich die Zimmer im Anbau nicht weiterempfehlen. Unseren Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel hat das ausgesprochen freundliche und aufmerksame Personal gerettet. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an alle!

Ein insgesamt sehr schönes Hotel, sehr nettes Personal, Tiefgarage zur sicheren Abstellung des PKW, Schwimmbad und Whirlpool (auch wenn es mit einem echten Whirlpool wenig gemein hat), lecker Essen, saubere und großzügige Zimmer, ein tolles Bad mit Regendusche.
Einziges Manko beim Frühstück, das Rührei wird offensichtlich in einer großen Wanne gestockt und ist daher sehr fest und die Waffeln sind gekaufte und nicht selbst gemacht, hier ist Potential, vielleicht auch mal Pancakes frisch, ansonsten alles was man braucht.

Aufenthalt wieder SUPER wie letztesmal

Personal schlechte Stimmung, Abends Bar und Nachtessen, sonst in Ordnung vor allem beim Frühstück.
Bei Bezahlung kurzzeitig Probleme, nur Karte hinterlegt aber nichts bezahlt !!, wollten über 660.-EURO, musste zweimal sagen dass ich im Aug. 2021 bezahlt hatte, Auftragsbestättigung gezeigt auf Handy, nur noch Kurtaxe bezahlen müsse + Getränke und Parkplatz, danach ging alles in Ordnung. Die Einrichtung der Zimmer(wir haben 3 gebucht) war alt und renovierungsbedürftig. Das Stuhlpolster und der Teppichboden in 2 Zimmern hatten Löcher. (1 Zimmer hatte einen renovierten Laminat Boden) Die Bäder waren ebenfalls in die Jahre gekommen. Dafür hat das Personal, das Frühstücksbuffet und das Restaurant wieder Einiges wett gemacht.

Unsere Erfahrung war gemischt. Zum einen war zum Beispiel das Hotelzimmer-Schloß nur notdürftig geflickt. Handtücher wurden zwar mitgenommen, wenn sie gebraucht waren, aber nicht ersetzt, so dass wir zum Schluss zu wenige hatten. Putzlappen wurden liegengelassen. Im Bade und Fittnessbereich hatte nicht alles funktioniert. Das Frühstück war dafür gut und reichhaltig. Die Lage im Ort ist hervorragend. Bei einem 4 Sterne Hotel gibt es im großen und ganzen Nachholbedarf

Æstetisk hotel

Rigtig fint og æstetisk hotel, parkeringsforholdene var ikke de bedste, men gik fint an.
Maden på hotellet var ikke overvældende - en schnitzel kan ikke anbefales og maden var meget dyr på hotellet, kontra andre steder i byen. Morgenmaden heller ikke være at skrive hjem om.

Sehr gutes Hotel zentral in Oberstaufen

Einzelzimmer gut, Größe des Zimmers war sehr gut. Bad dagegen klein. Abendessen war sehr gut, Frühstückbüffet war sehr gut, Personal sehr gut in allen Bereichen.

Super Frühstück, es hat an nichts gefehlt!!
Zimmer sollten beide Superior sein, aber eines war eine Dachkammer mit Sessel unter der Schräge und 17 Zoll Fernseher.
Nach Reklamation dann ein besseres bekommen, sogar mit Bergblick :-)
Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet und sauber.
Lage ist unschlagbar, in 2 Minuten im Zentrum zu Fuß und in 5 Minuten am Bahnhof.

Super hôtel

Cet hôtel est super. La chambre était très jolie et grande. Le petit déjeuner varié et très bon.

Das Hotel ist super ausgestattet, das Personal ist einfach toll, vom Empfangspersonal, das sehr hilfsbereit ist, bis zum Frühstückspersonal, das immer freundlich ist und das schon am frühen Morgen. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig. Es gab alles, was das Herz begehrt. Das Zimmer und der Wellnessbereich ist einzigartig. Top Hotel👍

Dejligt sted med svingende service

Skønt værelse (suite med bjergudsigt fra egen altan) Super rengøring på værelset og andre steder. Service fra receptionen var ok (og ikke mere) men restaurantens service var under lavmål. Hovedmåltidet var direkte kold, og da jeg klagede, skete INTET. Der ligger andre gode restauranter i nærheden. Samlet: fantastisk værelse, resten levede ikke op til en høj standard/pris.

Nie wieder

Personal am Empfang war freundlich.
Was leider auf das restliche nicht zutraf. Frühstücksbüffet würde zum Teil nicht aufgefüllt und es war sehr kalt im Raum weswegen viele Gäste sich beschwert hatten.
Mit Staub im Zimmer muss man leben, Vorallem unter dem Bett. Parkplätze gibt es kaum nur in der kostenpflichtigen Tiefgarage welche dann auch noch voll war. Whirlpool ist etwas zu kalt.

Schönes Hotel an zentraler Lage

Wir hatten 1 Standardzimmer ohne Balkon, was für 1 Nacht ok war. Essen im Restaurant und Service wie auch das Frühstücksbuffet waren top unter Corona-Vorgaben. Maskenpflicht für uns Schweizer gewöhnungsbedürftig.
