The room was clean and cheap, and staff was friendly, but otherwise I didn’t like it. Bathroom fixtures were old and worn. I had to stick my arm into the toilet tank a few times to adjust the flapper. The towels were clean but frayed. The bed was hard, as others have said, though I didn’t have any problem sleeping on it. The AC worked well, and the ceiling fan was great at night.
Nice garden, but no shade and nowhere to sit. Parque del Llano, a nice spot where local kids play, is across the street.
It’s not far, but the last few blocks of the walk from Santo Domingo to the hotel are dark and isolated, which I don’t like as a solo female. The first night, the power was out for the last two blocks of the walk and at the hotel. Power came back on as I entered the lobby. Luckily I had a little flashlight with me. The power went out again a day later, though only momentarily. That was twice in the two days I stayed there (after having spent eight nights in another hotel where the power never went out).
In a room overlooking the garden, I was far from the busy street out front and the park, and it was quiet enough. I did hear loud banging/exploding sounds around 10am on Sunday morning.
I stayed somewhere nicer for eight nights before this that cost about 50% more per night. I decided to extend my trip because I loved Oaxaca that much, and my original hotel was full. For me it was worth the extra money. If your budget is lower, try Oaxaca Real Hotel before this one.

Good location within walking distance to Centro. Nice park across the street to purchase food from numerous vendors at night. We had a great breakfast at the hotel to start off our day before touring around. First mexican hotel/resort that we've stayed at that had plenty of hot water when taking a shower. The wifi didn't work in our room, but was available in the lobby and restaurant areas. Overall, we had a nice comfortable stay at this hotel and was reasonably priced. The washroom was small, but served our purpose. We stayed there for four nights and would stay there again.

La Casona del Llano has perfect rooms - I stayed twice, I tried two rooms - with comfortable beds, hot showers, good space, beautifully arranged around central patio carefully tended, all spotless cleaned by delightful ladies. The staff is very nice, the manager is always there and runs the place smoothly and elegantly. The restaurant is awesome, with the nicest waiters, who make the best explanations of the different choices. The food is delicious!!! Starting the day with those breakfasts was delightful. Authentic Mexican experience. Don´t miss it!

This hotel was advertised for 35. per night. Yet was charged more than double that amount in pesos. The hotel claims they didn't aprove that price. I had no hot water. Breakfast was $10. for whit toast and cappuccino. Unpleasant receptionist. Felt ripped off by the whole experience. Unable to reach hotels.com customer service tried many times over 3 days.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Receptionist offered us a map and ordered a taxi for the airport. The room is basic but has all you need, air conditioning and TV. The restaurant was very pleasant but the food was average. The chicken consommé, however, was delicious. We especially liked the garden and would recommend the addition of a bench or a couple of chairs.

This hotel is in a gorgeous old building and has a great rooftop view of the park across the street. We found the most delicious coffee cart there and enjoyed rad pack of street dogs snoozing it out in the park. I’m not someone who needs a great deal of warmth but this place could sure use a bit. And by warmth, I mean service. The breakfast was killer. The tv and A.C. worked. All in all, worth the money.

This hotel is beautiful and located directly across from one of the cities huge parks. The location can’t be beat! The hotel staff are all very kind and helpful, and the on sight restaraunt has phenomenal food! The building itself is older, but they have done a great job keeping everything clean and in good shape! I just can’t believe what a great price we got this room for!

Hotel staff was deceptive. Upon check-in I requested a room in the back of La Casona. I had read reviews that the rooms by the street could be noisy. Receptionist indicated that there were no rooms. Room #21 adjacent to the street was assigned. Room smelled liked cigarette, humid, and was in poor condition. Room felt like movie Summer Rental. To access two other rooms towards the back guests had to pass my room. Door lock was loose. Informed receptionist and said maintenance would not be able to look at it until tomorrow. Tried to bear bad smell and cope with conditions of rooms. Called Expedia to change and shorten reservation. Expedia tried to get a hold hotel to refund me. Hotel kept putting it off. Finally, after I told hotel they showed me two rooms in the back. An hour ago they had said that these rooms were not available. Hotel did not refund me money. I ended up checking out hotel. The happiness of my family and my health and safety were more important.

after escaping from hostal de la noria i was just thankful to be in a hotel that was decent, clean, with hotwater, quiet, with comfortable beds. the location is excellent. across from lovely parque llano and just a short walk to el centro. all the rooms face an interior garden which is nice. windows were free to open to let in fresh air. the a/c worked fine. just a decent hotel good value. the restaurant was ok. overpriced but it was a very nice place to have a meal. will stay here again and definitely recommend it to travellers.

The hotel is on a busy street, so there is an issue with noise in the adjacent rooms to the street. The location is within walking distance of most of the main tourist destinations within the old part of the city. These are not luxury accomodations, but they met all our basic needs with no problems. I would stay there again.

No lo califico excelente porque nos encontramos un sillón sucio en el cuarto; olvidé una guarda dental y no me la guardaron; y el desayuno, no merece llamarse tal, solo café aguado, “jugo” de naranja y wafles…ni un plátano o fruta, ni huevo etc.

Muy buena ubicación, se puede ir caminando al centro. El personal muy amable. El desayuno exquisito. Tiene lo básico solo para llegar a dormir. Le faltan amenidades y aunque está muy limpio, algunas áreas no tienen mantenimiento, en especial el baño. Creo que podría estar mucho mejor, pero es adecuado para el precio.
