Stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast and had a great experience. Tamera makes an amazing breakfast every morning. The rooms are spacious, tidy, and very well maintained. The location in Avon is excellent, within easy walking distance to Avon Station and the River gondola for skiing. Comfortable, convenient, and welcoming. I will definitely be back with friends!

Breakfast was good. Lots of rules. Weird Mannequins in various places and cameras all over in the common places. I mean I can't really say anything bad per say... You just have to experience it for yourself. Good value for the area for sure.

Stayed in Avon for a visit to Vail for the weekend. The free local bus is a walkable distance from the home and easy to use to get around between Vail and Avon or just around Avon. The host was so kind and accommodating. She was able to allow for early check in and a later check out. She made a fresh breakfast for us that was delicious. It’s unfortunate the facility is for sale, but I hope that they can continue to run the home as is because it is a charming, local stay. The negative reviews are an injustice to the people who own and manage this bed and breakfast. If the style of a bed and breakfast is not your thing, which is more communal gathering and connection, then don’t stay here and expect something else. The host was extremely nice to talk to at breakfast and connect with. The home fit our needs perfectly and was comfortable. I would definitely recommend and stay again for ski season if skiing Vail or Beaver Creek.

We had a great stay for 2 nights. Our room was comfortable though my husband hit his head a couple times on the lowered attic type ceiling! The breakfasts were delicious and Tamara was very helpful finding us ways to get to Vail without driving! Plan to stay again—- maybe for my birthday!!!!

Overall, the place was quiet and pretty clean. The owner was very nice. My only real complaint is that the owner is also the cook of breakfast. While cooking, as my wife was eating food she’d cooked, the owner was observed blowing her nose in tissue. After which she continued cooking WITHOUT washing her hands. We didn’t make a fuss but refused to eat anything she cooked from that point on.

HORRIBLE HOTEL - never stay there
The hotel staff refused my service dog and asked us to leave the hotel. They also tried to make us wear some of the House shoes and would not allow us to walk around otherwise. In the end, the staff said they needed to know the medical condition my wife who had to have a service dog. Will never stay there and never recommend it

Great spot to stay close to skiing. The owner was super nice and gave us a tour of the property upon arrival. Todd and Tamara are superb hosts. This is a one-of-a-kind BnB and I will definitely be staying again. If you want to hit the slopes hard, Tamara whips up a huge breakfast well before the lifts open, then it’s a short trot to the bus stop (<15 min to get to the lifts from their front door) for super convenient access to Beaver Creek. Vail takes a little more effort, but I would still recommend staying here and “commuting” to Vail. After all, if you’re not spending $500/night in avail Village you’re taking the bus anyway! May as well stay where there’s awesome food, fascinating company, room to sprawl out, and everything you could possibly need within walking distance.

it was NOT as advertise, this is a shared house- we were placed in a room that was very small, not clean and we had to use provided Faux crocs that were obviously used by other guest to walk around the house, it felt very prison like and the room smelled like sweat on the pillows . We sat on the bed for 3-5 minutes and decided not to stay there, we handed the key to the owner and walked out, Rented a room at a near by hotel.
While this type of bed and breakfast might be for some people, it is not our style of B and B- we are private people and prefer whole house situation, in todays Covid times having to share all living quarters with people we dont know and it not to be clean in the room we were given was NOT what I paid for.

I was exhausted from a long drive and stumbled upon Mein Haus. Its a family business that services skiiers and snowboarders during the snow season. Off season, I think they get lots of random travelers like me. I checked in after midnight so Todd was a little groggy, but pleasant. Loved my room. Tamera whipped up a yummy breakfast including her specialty \"Swedish pancakes.\" Tamera and Todd are awesome hosts. Fun, fun, fun! We could have went on talking for hours about pancakes (I was surprised to learn the Tamera has a stash of teff, a grain staple in Ethiopia and Eritrea used for their fermented pancake, injera), politics, and the state of world. I have actually never thought about skiing before, but now Id to bring my family back to Mien Haus for ski lessons!

We booked Mein Haus traveling to Avon while randomly traveling. Checking out the property prior to finding lunch we turned around in the driveway. Leaving and sitting in traffic the owner ran, tapped on our window and threatened us to not turn around in his driveway. Our reservation was nonrefundable and after reading other comments regarding refunds we opted to stay and returned after lunch. The negative remarks of other guests are identical to ours and tell the true nature of this aggressive host. There is a handgun poster on the front door stating the home is protected by this high speed devise. There are many surveillance cameras throughout. You have to remove your shoes on entry. The interior is old and cluttered. No food and beverage allowed in your room. Our experience with this host was very uncomfortable.

The house we stayed in was very clean, you change out of shoes and put crocs on that are provided to ensure the carpets remain clean. There was a lot of information provided. The room was a little smaller than expected, we reserved a Romantic King with Mountain view and was very small. Didn't seem much like picture but we didn't stay long and served its purpose. Probably would have been able to get a better room if hadn't gone through Expedia and went directly through them but for the one night and not knowing the area much it worked out.

It was an unexpected stay as the highway closed due to a winter storm. The hosts were very hospitable and friendly. It was very welcoming. The breakfast was amazing and we loved our room. I’d stay here again.
Please take note this is a B&B and someone’s home that they value and work hard for everyday. There are particular rules because of that. It’s not a corporate hotel so be respectful of the individuality.

The linens here carried a strong floral fragrance, which was an experience unlike any other place I've stayed. Most hotels wisely choose unscented laundry products. It became so overwhelming for me that after exhaustion overtook me for a two-hour sleep, I awoke with a splitting headache and feeling nauseated from the overpowering smell. As I continued to struggle with my reaction for an hour, I realized that could not stay any longer. At 2 a.m., I departed in search of another hotel.

STAY AWAY. Place has security cameras everywhere, I felt like I was being watched at all times, super shady. They don't allow you to wear shoes indoors, not a welcoming feeling at all. If you don't mind photos of handguns on the windows, and photos of extremely polarizing political figures displayed for all to see, then this is your place. If I'm paying $350+ for a night, I think I should be able to bring food/drinks into my room (yeah, they don't allow that). Maybe if you guys re-surface your driveway you wouldn't have to worry about the rocks folks allegedly track into the building? (that was the rationale for not allowing outside shoes into the building). NEVER AGAIN.

What’s not to like? The space is beautiful and it’s situated perfectly in the area. Super friendly hosts and just about the best damn breakfast you could ask for. If you’re debating a stay here, stop debating and book it.

Mein Haus was very clean, with a comfortable bed, and great breakfasts. Staff/owners were very friendly. Location was great with a short walk to the bus stop to take the shuttle up to the ski lifts. We didn't really get to fully appreciate the property since we were out snowboarding every day and hung out with family at their condo in the evenings but there was a nice library, work center, and hot tub available as well. My only complaint would be the pillows could have been more comfortable. A couple down pillows in the room would have been great.

They provided fresh coffee with all of the creamers and sweeteners, yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh made bread for toast, jellies, and a hot breakfast consisting of eggs, sausage, and a heavenly French toast blueberry casserole. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Upon our arrival, my husband went in to register only to return to the car saying I had to come in, too, to go to the “check in room”. We should’ve done a U-Turn and checked out that very moment b/c the weirdness continued to escalate. Taped to the front windows are drawings of hand guns reading that they’re high speed wireless protection and then a drawing of a mask saying they couldnt be worn inside unless it was medically indicated. Once inside the front door we were issued a pair of Crocs to wear leaving our shoes in the entry. That was so gross! How many toe fungal feet had been in those shoes before ours? When inside the “check in room”, I saw a screen monitoring the various surveillance cameras. We found the location of several of them but felt there were more that we didnt see. I wanted to shower with my clothes on. We spoke to each other in a whisper. At night I was so very cold. No blankets so I used 2 robes that were hanging in the closet, wrapped my feet and upper body in towels. There are Amazon size female mannequins stationed in several rooms that are kind of frightening when you enter a room and there’s a huge likeness of a woman looming. Did they have cameras in their eyes? We took advantage of his wifi using the password he gave us but quickly disengaged b/c he would be able to get into our devices. The frig was dirty on the inside. The kitchen garbage can’s flip lid was filthy. This was the most bizarre and frightening experience we’ve ever had.

When faced with the decision of a standard hotel and this B&B, Mein Haus was a win for us. Locked ski/boot room on the ground level, short distance to dinner/ grocery store/bus to slopes, large kitchen areas, hot tub, pool table, in front parking, quiet atmosphere, weather reports & maps, very nice staff, and a breakfast that far surpasses anything you'd get at a standard hotel. If you are good with some social interaction in a B&B environment, then Mein Haus may too be for you.
