There is construction at both the front and back entrances (which is going amazingly quickly!) and the communication about where to park, how to enter the building, etc. was very helpful. The location gives very quick access to the main part of the village. We had a double bed room and it was very small and getting a bit tired in terms of decor and maintenance (the closet door fell off every time we opened it). There was no desk at all and no chair in the room, which isn't ideal for business people. There was a door to the adjoining room which was not much of a sound barrier - we could hear people talking at a normal volume. If we were to stay there again, we might choose a full suite so there is room for two people and two suitcases.

Some Units Do Not Have AC, this should be Noted

The unit we were given at the St James did not have Air Conditioning, this was not communicated on the Hotels.com property listing, Vail properties was able to move us to the Pines Lodge. The Unit at St. James was very dated and not cleaned properly, dirt in corners of bathroom, mirrors, ect...

Experience was not great. The toilet broke every day for the first 3 days with the manager telling us we do not know how to flush the toilet correctly. Finally the right technician came in and fixed it with 1 day left on our stay. Room was 90 degrees with them telling us to turn down the t stat (which was turned off). Manager does not even have her vmail set up if that is any indication of how they run the hotel.

Rental management is disorganized and confusing. The property has multiple rental management groups which are not connected and do not communicate with each other. Front desk staff is not helpful at all and after 5pm has no authority to help customers with accommodation requests or issues… prices are extremely high for the poor service provided by the staff

the location was excellent because you could walk to all the resort had to offer and you were right in the middle of the action, skiing, skating, dining, swimming, shopping etc. were all outside your door...close to town and easy to get in and out of the resort and to travel east or west on rt 70!!!

Its a gorgeous property in a great location. However, this unit had no views and had a couple minor things that needed to be repaired (such as a refrigerator that ran all the time and a small problem with two of the wood blinds.)

The hotel is in a very convenient location in Beaver Creek, just steps away from shops, restaurants and the slopes.
Overall the hotel and amenities are very good. Hence why I'm a returning guest.

The condo where my family and I stayed was in very good condition, with nice decor and had everything we needed.
However, I do have to point a little annoyance, and that is that the mattress and pillows of the master bedroom were a bit uncomfortable and not on par with what I'm used to in this category of hotels.

Altogether, I highly recommend this place.

Don't stay at the St. James

I would never stay at this property again. The guy at the front desk was clueless. I was given a key to a room that was occupied. When I returned to the front desk to get reassigned, he was puzzled because \"his computer said the room was cleaned\". He also said there were washer dryers in the room, but there were not. While housekeeping was helpful, the sheets were \"scratchy\" and the beds uncomfortable.

The unit we were originally booked into had no air conditioning (owner disabled it), no deck, and was in need of updating. After talking to manager we were upgraded to a very nice unit. Have rented at St James Resort multiple times in the past. We will book there again and again. A perfect place to stay during Octoberfest!

Beaver creek is amazing and our condo was nice. It wasn’t a great view and a bit of a walk up and down stairs to get to the slopes. It’s a great place for extra room but not as convenient as I had hoped.

Good hotel to spend a few days at

We were in Beaver Creek for a convention and stayed at the ST James, this is the fourth time we have stayed there. The hotel is right at the village centre and convenient to everything. The rooms are large and comfortable as is the living area with a nice view of the mountain and a well set up living area with comfortable lounges and big TV.

AMAZING!!!! WOW!!!!
This place is what it advertises. Its much more than a hotel. It is part of a whole swiss village looking environment comp,ete with shops, year round ice skating, Indoor Black pool and Hot tub as well as an outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, spa, and the list goes on. Even if you have nothing planned for the day, just walking though the village and exploring all the shops is amazing. The staff is great and these might be some of the only rooms in the Vail area that have ceiling fans! This is big int he summer since Vail for the most part doesn't believe in air conditioning, although it does get warm.

Beware not all rooms have ac !

No ac in some of the guest rooms ! Keep that in mind if you are booking in the summer time. We booked mid july and although it cools at night, our apartment registered at 88 degrees. Doesn't make well for afternoon naps !

Do not waste your time here

I have usually stayed right on the mt. I decided to try St James Place. That was a mistake.We had to call the front desk 3 times a day for shampoo, coffee, tv remote. The staff was not overly friendly or helpful. Then we found out we were put in the room that is actually a secondary bedroom to the suite. When we asked the front desk to bring us up coffee for the maker, because they forgot to refresh the supply, the guy said \" we have coffee in the lobby\"! We wanted to make our own without coming down. Then they called us at 7:30 in the morning, woke us up, to see if we had a work order in for the remote. I would never stay here again, expected different service for the Beaver Creek area. I had such high expectations, and was disappointed, no recommendations here.

Location is good

The room was very small. It was one of those lock offs, dated decor and uncomfortable small beds.

Small rooms do not have access to ski lockers. Humidifiers were available only for a fee. In all my previous stays in other hotels the humidifiers were free. Small fridge did not worked, froze the food. Old and small coffee maker

We come to the St James year after year

The hotel location was very convenient due to the fact that it was next to the ski slope and restaurants. The staff are very attentive. Plus the indoor pool and hot tub and outdoor spa was very cool. Great for kids.

The perfect place to stay

Great place to stay hike skiing! Staff are friendly and attentive, room was large and very comfortable. Only a short walk to ski lifts and all the restaurants in beaver creek.
Great outdoor hot tub to soak in after a big day skiing.
Some of the older parts of the building could do with an upgrade, especially the main lifts which are incredibly slow which can be a little frustrating at times.

I didn't realize when I booked this - that it was a small bedroom condo and not a hotel. So I did not bring amenities like a bathrobe with me. There were no water glasses in the room either. The front desk staff was exceptional, and the room very clean.

Convenient and quiet room

This is the second time we have stayed at the St. James Place in Beaver Creek. We like how quiet it is and close to the ski lifts. We have our own ski locker downstairs which is convenient. It is also close to shopping and restaurants. We like having our own kitchen, so we can eat a quick breakfast before heading to the slopes.

Outdated, terrible customer service

Rooms: The rooms need updating. The bathrooms are great, but the rest are a little old. There is no AC, which is good to know!
Service: We checked in and went to our room to find it trashed. It turns out they had not cleaned out room, even though we were checking in late in the evening. The man at the front desk \"did not have authority\" to move us to another room, so we had to drop our stuff off and wait for them to clean it. I've never had service like that at a hotel! I will say that after this experience, everyone was very helpful.
Location: Perfect - they have free parking, it's walking distance to everything, easy to find, and in the heart of Beaver Creek.

Careful which room you get

Was initially given a room in a wing of the hotel with no A/C which was very much needed. It was also directly next to a road, and traffic passing by was very audible all through the night. When I spoke to the front desk the next morning, they moved us to a room that was MUCH better - bigger, more modern and comfortable. It felt like a different hotel

Not at all what you would expect...

The room and this hotel wasn't what I expected. Too small, with very little space to store our things. The TV was the size of the new iPad, i.e. very small. There wasn't a hanger for he ski jackets or helmet and there wan't a hook in the bathroom to hang used towels. The dryer was also very small, the beds uncomfortable as well as the pillows. Not what we expected when at their website they sell themselves as a premier rental property.

Great Hotel in the Heart of Beaver Creek

I got a great last minute deal for St James Place and wasn't disappointed. Erin and Jessica at the front desk totally exceeded expectations with an early check-in, which allowed me to park my vehicle in the heated garage and hit the slopes quickly. Clean, comfortable, great bathroom, and easy access with all restaurants and shops within minutes from your door. Since it's situated at the eastern end of the BC village, it's pretty quiet at night depending on where your room is located.

Easy walk to slopes and dining/shopping

My husband and I stayed in one of the basic rooms without a kitchen or separate living area (had a mini-fridge though), and it had a wonderful view of the village and mountains. The room was still quite spacious, with lots of closet space, and the bathroom was large (double sinks, glass shower separate from tub) and modern! However our thermostat didn't seem to work, as the room stayed quite a bit too warm the whole time, even after adjusting the thermostat and supposedly turning it off entirely. The toilet would also continue running unless you flushed it just right. But St. James' entrance is right on the main village perimeter and all the restaurants and shops are a very quick walk. Even though it's a little farther from the slopes than some other BC hotels, it was still just a simple walk of a few minutes across the main plaza. We had a rental car and appreciated the secure, covered parking garage at St. James.

Great location. Fantastic on demand shuttle. I had a room(A) not a condo. The bathroom was big. But it has a communicating door to the adjacent condo that is not sound proof so you can hear everything that happens next door and in the hallways. Also there is no ski locker for the room (only for the condo).
Not the place to stay if you want quiet after ski.
The room has a mini fridge and a coffee maker but no microwave.

Unexpected Great Find in Beaver Creek

My wife and I booked this hotel at the last minute through Hotels.com when our week-long condo reservation in Vail got messed up. We had to find a room for one night and got an unbelievable deal even though we rented it in the height of ski season (first week of March). The following week the exact same room was over FIVE TIMES as much! We would HIGHLY recommend this hotel, as we initially thought it was a condo owned by someone who rented it out. It was that nice! The unit itself has an upstairs, meaning that the entry doorway has an area to drop all of your gear/luggage at, and then you access your room via a flight of stairs. This means that when you close your door upstairs for the night, there is virtually NO noise coming from any other guests, door slammings, elevators, people in the hallway, etc. The room itself is super-luxurious, as is the bathroom. The views are spectacular, and has the feel of a Swiss mountain village. Parking is underground, and you can walk to the Beaver Creek ski area. The hotel also has lockers for ski equipment, a super-luxurious indoor heated swimming pool, and a spectacular outdoor spa for aprés ski relaxation. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The hotel is basically a timeshare facility. The double room we booked is part of this timeshare and can be reserved upon availability. The facility is nice and staff is very helpful. It is centrally located in Beaver Creek village and about a 5 minute walk to the slopes. We had free parking in the underground garage which was nice. The deluxe double room we booked was very small. It is smaller than some of the regular hotel rooms. There were no table or chairs. WE ate breakfast in the room and sat on the bed to eat. The bathroom was plenty big enough. Unfortunately, there was no balcony and the window was facing the street-no view. But I guess considering the location and the price we paid, you cannot expect anything more. It is an expensive area with upscale restaurants and shops. We drove to Avon and had dinner there which was fine.

Good location literally right in the village. 30 second walk to restaurants and skiing. We had a hotel-style room with one king bed. This particular room was clean and well appointed...in particular the bathroom was exceptional. Dual vanity, tiled and glass door shower with rain-style shower head, separate tub, granite, etc.

A very pleasant stay, easy for skiing

We had great time staying, skiing. The restaurant choices are limited in the area and expensive. But that seems to be expected.
The 2 double beds hotel is room is very basic. The only thing that is really below standard is the TV, it is like 15\" monitor !!!
Other than that, the hotel staff is very nice and the lobby is very nice. The pool and shower is really good too. We had a good time.

Was not clear that there is no air conditioning @ this resort. Also some rooms have a flea problem. When all the rooms & windows are open, feels like living in a commune, listening to neighbors kids to smelling upstairs dog. Lots of room. Designed primarily for fall & autumn. Beautiful but not practical for summer

I REQUESTED WHEN RESERVING A MOUNTAIN VIEW. WHEN I ARRIVED IT WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME. THE ROOM I GOT WAS OLD AND OUTDATED WITH OLD BIG BOX TV'S NOT TODAYS AMENITIES. I HAD A VIEW OF THE ROTUNDA ENTRANCE TO THE HOTEL. THEY ALSO NEVER TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS AND WHEN I COMPLAINED A FRONT DESK EMPLOYEE VERY RUDELY TOLD ME TO OPEN THE WINDOWS AND SLAMMED THE PHONE ON ME. I FINALLY GOT IT WORKED OUT AND THEY GAVE ME A ROOM WITH AIR CONDITIONING BUT STILL NEVER GOT MY MOUNTAIN VIEW.

The right side of town

We have been going to Beaver Creek for nearly a decade and our favorite hotel this year instituted a longer minimum stay so we tried St James. I was familiar with it but heard it wasn't that nice, which was entirely wrong, it was beautiful. The condo was huge and in excellent condition with its own wifi, good bathrooms, kitchen and furniture. It's more of a condo than hotel but we had maid service, bellman, etc. St James is right in town and is an easy walk to the lifts and ski school. If the price fits, we'll stay there again for sure
